Abstract:
Purpose. To identify and characterize the 100 most-cited articles in the field of transient elastography.Methods. The top-cited articles focusing on transient elastography from 1999 to 2017 were retrieved from Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) database. The most prolific article, journal, country and continent, top-cited article in different period, international collaboration, cocitation analysis of journal were retrieved and analyzed in this article. Bibexcel 2016, Microsoft Excel 2010, and VOSviewer 1.6.5 were used to analyze bibliometric records we downloaded.Results. The 100 most-cited articles were published between 2003 and 2015. The total citations ranged from 54 to 1376 (mean, 167.52 ± 208.46; median, 89.5) and the annual citations ranged from 4.91 to 98.24 (mean, 17.21±15.68; median, 12.1). The top-cited article was published inGastroenterologyin 2005 by Castera L. et al. (n=1376). The most-cited articles in 2003-2007 (n=1380), 2008-2012 (n=599) and 2013-2017 (n=159) were located. All of the most-cited articles in three periods were focusing on the topic of noninvasive assessment of liver fibrosis. The most prolific author was de Ledinghen V. (n=21) and France (n=43) was the leading country. The most productive journal wasJournal of Hepatology(n=20). The major article type was original research article.Conclusions. We undertook efforts to provide an insight into the features and evolvement of the most-cited articles in the field of transient elastography. For transient elastography, as a noninvasive assessment of liver fibrosis, its use in the evaluation of liver fibrosis is gradually mature and shows great advantages. Moreover, the field of transient elastography is in a stage of rapid development.

Full text
Abstract:

The thesis explores the complex relationship between modern audio technologies and the art of popular music through close scrutiny specific artefacts, a largely neglected area of musicological research. The detailed analyses presented here reveal the ways in which particular analogue and digital audio technologies are used, and how these have tended to shape and inform the musical and sonic characteristics of popular music recordings and related artefacts.

Crew, Danny Oliver. "Political discourse and American published sheet music : a commentary of four published works." Thesis, University of Sunderland, 2014. http://sure.sunderland.ac.uk/6581/.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this commentary is to discuss the context and theoretical underpinnings that form the basis of my four publications, and how these works have made a meaningful contribution to the study of American socio-political discourse in general, and to the study of American historical music in particular. The study of American political history has principally focused on traditional primary and secondary sources for such inquiry: contemporary letters, journals and diaries, books, official documents, newspapers and other periodicals. One major primary source that has been largely overlooked is that of published music. Two factors have precipitated this oversight: historically, traditional musicology ignored popular music as having no scholarly legitimacy. Secondly, most repository institutions have ignored, or are unaware of, the historical context and relevance of socio-political sheet music, cataloging it as a one-dimensional artifact defined almost exclusively in musical terms such as “vocal,” “instrumental,” or “ballads,” and not for its historical context and non-musical relevance. Published music encompasses far more than just notation, structure and form; it illuminates a plethora of human activity far beyond the composer-listener archetype: performance, publishing, commercial enterprise, and socio-political context are only a few of these extra-musical facets of published music that can tell us not only about the composer and music itself, but also about the society in which it was created. It was the purpose of my four published works submitted herewith to begin to remedy these issues by illuminating a source of contemporary discourse that can shed a different light on history; a discourse oriented towards the popular masses rather than the educated elite. These four works broaden contemporary discourse in American history by providing historians with the knowledge of, and access to, this vast wealth of untapped resource material.

The completion of the Human Genome Project, a remarkable feat by any measure, has provided over three billion bases of reference nucleotides for comparative studies. The next, and perhaps more challenging step is to analyse sequence variation and relate this information to important phenotypes. Most human sequence variations are characterized by structural complexity and, are hence, associated with abnormal functional dynamics. This thesis covers the assembly of a computational platform for verifying these variations, based on accurate, published, experimental data.

Full text
Abstract:
Thesis (MBA)--Stellenbosch University, 1999.
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This study project explores cash value added statements (CVAS). a South African innovation. A complete survey is made of all the CV AS published by listed South African industrial companies from 1991 up to 1998. The survey yields a total of 18 listed South African industrials, which started to publish a CV AS in different years. Together, the 18 companies provide a population of 89 cash value added statements for analysis. The aim of the study is to establish how South African companies prepare a CV AS against a background which lacks a formal Accounting Standard on the subject. Secondly. it seeks to unravel any variations and mistakes presentation of published CY AS as measured against a standardized model of CY AS. In order to highlight the variations, a fault bank is created. An analysis of the fault bank reveals a number of differences in the treatment of certain components of a CV AS by listed South African industrial companies. Major deviations from the standardized model of a CVAS involve interest, dividends and taxation.
Please refer to fulltext for Afrikaans abstract
