Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to describe a class of sentences containing a noun in -ita, which are equivalent to an adjectival predicate. This set of sentences is of the form N0 W N1-ita (where -ita can be translated as one of the uses of être in French). Indeed, for this type of sentence: Léa-nín motín il-e (yôlsông + pulman)-ita Léa-Top everything-Pc (passion + discontent)-ita (Léa is (passionate about + discontented with) everything) we observe that N1-ita answers to the question ôtôha-(how), and not to nuku(who)/muôs(what). Further, N1-ita allows for an indication of intensity or comparison, but N1 can take no modifiers. This kind of predicate, with a human subject (noted Nsp-ita), shares some fundamental properties with an adjectival predicate. From this point of view, it is different from other types of N -ita predicates, such as: Max-nîn (haksäng + honsu-sangthä)-ita Max-Top (student + coma-state)-ita (Max is (a student + in a coma)) i congi-nîn (semo-k'ol + pola-säk)-ita this paper-Top (triangle-form + violet-color)-ita This paper is of (triangular form + violet color)) The fact that Nsp-ita (like SC-cok-ita) resembles the derived adjectives N1-hata or N1-sîlôpta puts into question the current definition of -ita: if -ita, in Nsp-ita, is analyzed as a particle attached to a noun, we would have no adjective in -ita, but only nouns. Under the hypothesis of a support term (here, the adjective supporting the predicative noun), we whould have only the adjective (ita). Finally, if we analyze this kind of -ita as an adjectival suffix, the data Nsp-ita and SC-côk-ita would all make up the entire corpus of adjectives. We underline the fact that this problem is not a simple question of terminology when one is trying to set up a corpus of adjectives for constructing a lexicon-grammar, even though the present study is limited to the classification and description of the nouns that make up the predicate Nsp-ita.

Abstract:

Itaconic acid (ITA) is one of the top 12 platform chemicals. The global ITA market is expanding due to the rising demand for bio-based unsaturated polyester resin and its non-toxic qualities. Although bioconversion using microbes is the main approach in the current industrial production of ITA, ecological production of bio-based ITA faces several issues due to: low production efficiency, the difficulty to employ inexpensive raw materials, and high manufacturing costs. As metabolic engineering advances, the engineering of microorganisms offers a novel strategy for the promotion of ITA bio-production. In this review, the most recent developments in the production of ITA through fermentation and metabolic engineering are compiled from a variety of perspectives, including the identification of the ITA synthesis pathway, the metabolic engineering of natural ITA producers, the design and construction of the ITA synthesis pathway in model chassis, and the creation, as well as application, of new metabolic engineering strategies in ITA production. The challenges encountered in the bio-production of ITA in microbial cell factories are discussed, and some suggestions for future study are also proposed, which it is hoped offers insightful views to promote the cost-efficient and sustainable industrial production of ITA.

Abstract:

International technical assistance helps to solve the current problems of countries. International Technical Assistance (ITA) is aimed at rebuilding the Donetsk region due to the effects of the military conflict. However, in modern conditions, there is an insufficient elaboration of both theoretical and practical issues of international assistance in Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to characterize the provision of international technical assistance in the reconstruction of the Donetsk region. Information on the ITA (2016-2019) was analyzed. The main directions of the ITA were identified: receiving humanitarian assistance; support for the development of entrepreneurship, development of education, restoration of the infrastructure of medical and educational institutions. The study identified problems with the provision and using of ITA: the imperfection of strategic planning of ITA revenues; coordination of activities between donors and ITA recipients; inconsistency of the ITA with the tasks, strategies, priorities of socio-economic development of Ukraine and the tasks of sustainable development of the country; lack of a regulatory mechanism for obtaining and using ITA; effective monitoring and evaluation of the use of ITA; transparency in the use of ITA; consistency in work on MTD projects; inefficient use of MTD funds. External and internal factors to increase the efficiency of ITA using were identified. The following recommendations were proposed: international technical assistance should be provided on the basis of: 1. Coordination: with national, regional and local strategies; priorities and tasks of reconstruction of the Donetsk region from the consequences of the military conflict; activities of ITA donors and recipients in the processes of project preparation, control and monitoring of ITA implementation. 2. Improvement of: ITA management methods (planning, budgeting, control and monitoring processes, calculation of efficiency from ITA using); a regulatory framework for the implementation of the ITA (adoption of the Law of Ukraine «On International Technical Assistance»). 3. Taking into account the state budget of Ukraine the resources of the international technical assistance. 4. Implementation of the mechanism of co-financing of ITA and recovery programs.

Abstract:

Background: The “classic” thyroid gland arterial vascularization takes into account two superior thyroid arteries (STA), two inferior thyroid arteries (ITA) and, occasionally, a thyroid ima artery (TIMA). The present review focuses on exploring the available data concerning thyroid gland arterial vascularization and its variations. Methods: Here, we analysed 49 articles from the last century, ranging from case reports to reviews concerning cadaver dissection classes, surgical intervention, and non-invasive techniques as well. Results: The harvested data clearly highlighted that: (i) the STA originates predominantly from the external carotid artery; (ii) the ITA is a branch of the thyrocervical trunk; and (iii) the TIMA is a very uncommon variant predominantly occurring to compensate for ITA absence. Conclusion: A systematic review of a highly vascularized organ is of great relevance during surgical intervention and, thus, the knowledge of normal anatomy and its modification is essential both for fact-finding and in surgery.

Abstract:

Abstract The developmental biology of Aspavia armigera on four rice varieties ITA 301, ITA 305, ITA 307 and ITA 315 was studied under ambient conditions at the Plant Biology Laboratory, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. Alternative host plants were also used in the experiment. The results showed that the development of A. armigera depended on its hosts. Oviposition periods were 41.7 days, 30.8 days, 22.6 days and 18.1 days on rice varieties ITA 301, ITA 305, ITA 307 and ITA 315, respectively. Fecundity ranged from 80.3 eggs on ITA 301, 79.6 eggs on ITA 307, 76.1 eggs on ITA 305 and 65.6 eggs on ITA 315. The differences in fecundity were not statistically significant. The eggs incubated for 4 to 6 days before hatching into nymphs on all the varieties. The longevity of mated and unmated males and mated females on the rice varieties were not statistically different, while unmated females lived significantly longer on ITA 305. There were five nymphal instars, which persisted for 16.8-19.5 days depending on the variety. The developmental period was significantly (p<0.05) delayed on ITA 315, and the mean growth ratio of head capsule measurements was 1.27. Oviposition periods ranged between 5 and 20 days on cowpea and 6 and 18 days on rice. A significantly higher number of eggs (fecundity) was laid by mated females of A. armigera fed on soybean than those fed on cowpea. Mean developmental periods were 25.7, 25.5, 21.4, and 20.3 days on soybean, amaranthus, rice and cowpea, respectively. Mated females lived for a significantly shorter period on cowpea (21.9 days) than on the other hosts.

Abstract:

The dividing character of the Information Technology Agreement (ITA), separating information technology (IT) products in the list from those yet to be included, by its nature, might make the ITA stumble on the converging technology trend. The European Communities and Its Members States - Tariff Treatment of Certain Information Technology Products (hereinafter 'EC-IT Product') case has opened up Pandora's box: would original ITA products, after technological change, still be included in the ITA? In light of the terms of relevant concessions being interpreted, the Panel establishes that the ITA could be dynamic along with new technology in that the addition of new technology or features would not necessarily warrant the exclusion of the ITA products from the duty-free coverage. However, because of the limitation on the scope of coverage through terms and conditions or the use of HS interpretative rules, ITA products might be excluded as a result; this is not necessarily supportive in terms of the ITA. The author argues that the dispute settlement mechanism does not provide a satisfactory systemic solution for the ITA. In this regard, the author proposes that establishing an 'understanding' on the maintenance of product coverage of current ITA under technological change, which includes the use of 'like product' analysis and the development of an 'indicative good practices guidance', might serve as a pragmatic tool and the starting point for further discussions towards finding the 'simple, transparent, and expeditious solution' contemplated by the ITA Committee.

Abstract:

Peculiarities of internal thoracic and radial artery morphology (ITA and RA) have been investigated by light microscopy in continuous sampling of 10 patients subjected to coronary artery bypass grafting. The object of investigation has been ITA and RA segments marked out during the surgery, fixed in formalin and colored by hematoxylin and eosin. As a result it has been found that the frequency of ITA and RA intima thickening was 28,1 and 20% of cases respectively in CABG candidates. The ratio of intima-media thickness in RA was 2,5 times higher than in ITA. This ratio in distal parts of ITA was 2,3 times higher than in proximal ones and 1,7 times higher than in middle ones. This fact is evidence of the need to decline the use of ITA distal segment in case of enough ITA length.

Abstract:

This paper studies the iterative threshold algorithm (ITA) for solving the Robust Principal Component Analysis (RPCA) problems, which is to recover a low-rank matrix with a fraction of its entries being arbitrarily corrupted. By utilizing the primal-dual method, we analyze the ITA in a new way and prove that the ITA is essentially equivalent to gradient method applying to a dual problem. In the original ITA, it is hard to choose the parameters and hence it converges very slowly. Now, based on the new insight, existing techniques of the gradient method can be used to accelerate the ITA. We combine the theoretical derivation with the numerical simulation experiments to give an empirical guidance to set the parameters. As illustration, background modeling problem is solved by the ITA with optimal parameters.

Abstract:

Organic wastes can be recycled in an ecologically sound way in fishponds by applying integrated agriculture and aquaculture systems (IAA). This kind of waste recycling can help to protect the environment from pollution and improve fishpond yields. Additionally, IAA provides an opportunity for diversification of the output from two or more existing subsystems leading to higher overall farm economic returns. This study explored the potential application of amaranth wastes (AW) as a dietary ingredient for tilapia in a tilapia-amaranths integrated system (ITA). An experimental diet (AD) contained 10% (based on the control diet, CD) inclusion of AW collected from a nearby vegetable market. The experiments included triplicate treatments with; (i) fish fed on AD, where the pond water was used for irrigating the amaranth plants (IAA-fish), and (ii) fish fed on CD, where no pond water was used for irrigating the amaranth plants (non-IAA fish). 90 days after fish stocking, eighteen 4 m2 amaranth plots were prepared and treated with (i) tap water without fertilization (control amaranths), (ii) water from IAA-fish pond and organically fertilized (IAA amaranths), and (iii) tap water and inorganically fertilized (non-IAA amaranths). The use of AW improved the fish feed conversion ratio. The overall net income from ITA was 3.2, 2.3, 2.6, and 1.8 higher than from non-IAA amaranths, IAA-amaranths, non-IAA fish, and IAA fish sub-systems respectively.

Abstract:

Objective Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is widely used in the management of hydatidiform mole and persistent trophoblastic disease (PTD). Studies on hyperglycosylated human chorionic gonadotropin (invasive trophoblast antigen, ITA) in PTD are limited. In serum samples taken before evacuation of molar pregnancies we measured the concentrations of free hCG β-subunit (free hCGβ), “total” hCG (hCG+hCGβ) and ITA, and determined whether ITA, the two other hCG analytes, or the calculated ratios of hCGβ/hCG+hCGβ, hCGβ/ITA and hCG+hCGβ/ITA could predict the later development of PTD. Design A retrospective study based on blood specimens collected in the Dutch Central Registry for Hydatidiform Moles. The study group comprised 97 patients with hydatidiform moles who did not develop PTD after mole evacuation and 33 patients who did develop PTD. Methods Serum samples from 130 patients with hydatidiform mole with or without PTD were assayed using specific (radio)immunoassays for free hCGβ, total hCG, and ITA. From these analytes we also calculated the ratios hCGβ/hCG+hCGβ, hCGβ/ITA, and hCG+hCGβ/ITA. To predict the development of PTD from these analytes and parameters we performed receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, resulting in areas under the curve (AUCs) that represented the diagnostic accuracy which was rated in a range from excellent (AUC >0.9 or <0.1) to poor (AUC 0.4–0.6). Results The diagnostic accuracy of ITA was moderate (0.618) and not different from that of free hCGβ (0.610) and hCG+hCGβ (0.622). Conclusions ITA as well as the other analytes and parameters in serum taken prior to evacuation from patients with molar pregnancies cannot be used to predict the subsequent development of persistent trophoblastic disease.

Abstract:

With the rapid growth of the international tourism industry, governments and tourism promotion agencies in various countries challenge to make more attractive international tourism advertisement (ITA) for foreign tourists to visit their countries. However, there may be difference in the degree to which each travel advertisement reflects the nation brand image. In some ITA cases, foreign tourists could not vividly highlight the unique images of the destination countries. Few studies have empirically validated the impact of confirmation of nation brand image in ITA on the tourist’s responses. This study challenged to empirically examine how the fit between the ITA contents and nation brand image affects the travel intentions of foreign tourists. I developed my research model based on the literature of country image, brand advertisement fit model, and expectation confirmation theory. I conducted the quasi-experiment by using 4 examples of ITA which reflect 4 unique images of Korea (i.e. K-Food, Korean wave, shopping, hot place) compared with other countries. Totally 276 valid data were collected and analyzed using the partial least squares (PLS) algorithm. The results indicate that confirmation of nation brand image in ITA significantly increase perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment. These changes could increase tourist’s satisfaction, ITA adoption intention, destination visit intention, and E-word of mouth intention. The findings of this study could contribute to identify the impacts on the nation brand image in ITA and could provide practical lessons on how to make more persuasive ITA.

The anatomical relationship between the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) and the inferior thyroid artery (ITA) was studied in 76 embalmed corpses, 8 females and 68 males. In both sexes, the RLN lay more frequently between branches of the ITA.; it was found in this position in 47.3% of male corpses and 42.8% of female ones. On the right, RLN was found between branches of the ITA in 49.3% of the cases, anterior to it in 38.04%, and posterior in 11.26%. On the left, the RLN lay between branches of the ITA in 44.45%, posterior to the ITA in 37.05%, and anterior to it in 18.05% of the cases. In 62.68% of the cases, the relationship found on one side did not occur again on the opposite side. There was a significant difference (p<0.05) in the distribution of the 3 types of relationships between the RLN and the ITA, on the right and on the left. Racial variations could contribute to an explanation of the differences observed by authors of different countries in the relationship between the RLN and the ITA.

Abstract:

The Nellenburg family looms large in the historical memory of Schaffhausen. Count Eberhard (ca. 1015-1078/1079) and his wife Ita (d. ca. 1105) had transformed the small city with their patronage, most notably through the foundation of the monastery of Allerheiligen; their children held prominent military and ecclesiastical positions across the Lake Constance region. Together with their son Burkhard, his wife Hedwig, and a cousin known as Irmentrud, Eberhard and Ita were buried prominently in Allerheiligen; their collective funerary monument is one of the earliest and most ambitious of its type that is known from the twelfth century. The monument, however, has only survived in pieces: twentieth-century excavations uncovered two effigies for men and a small fragment of a head from a woman’s effigy, usually identified as Ita. The male figures, largely intact, have received ample scholarly attention from art historians, but the presence of women in the family grave has been overlooked thanks to the near-total loss of their monuments. A recent reconstruction sought to ameliorate this situation by adding a body to complete the fragmentary female head, using the contemporaneous Quedlinburg effigies as a model. The resulting modern monument is beautifully executed and visually gratifying, but like all facsimiles it complicates our view of the original. This article questions the relationship of the fragmentary head and its reception in relation to Ita, whose historical position has been privileged at the expense of her daughter-in-law Hedwig and cousin Irmentrud; it also highlights contextual differences that make the imperial canoness effigies of Quedlinburg a complicated model for reimagining the Schaffhausen women. The goal is not to dismiss the reconstruction but rather to probe the underlying assumptions that continue to impact how medieval bodies, and women’s bodies in particular, are projected into the modern world.

Long-term home noninvasive ventilation (LTHNIV) in restrictive thoracic diseases was explored via the recently published international REINVENT ERS survey. The Italian subset of respondents (ITA-r), the highest above all participating nations, was analyzed and compared to non-Italian respondents (NO-ITA-r). The ITA-r represented 20% of the total answers examined. Ninety-four percent were physicians, whose half worked in a respiratory ICU (RICU). ITA-r mainly worked in community hospitals vs NO-ITA-r who are largely affiliated with university hospitals (p<0.0001). Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) was considered the most common medical condition leading to NIV indication by both ITA-r and NO-ITA-r (93% vs 78%, p>0.5). A greater proportion of ITA-r considered MIP/MEP the most important test for NIV initiation as compared to NO-IRA-r (p<0.05). There was no significant difference for both ITA-r and NO-ITA-r as regards the other questions. This study illustrates Italian LTHNIV practices in patients with NMD and it shows some important differences with the other countries’ practices but agreement in terms of goals to achieve, reasons to initiate NIV, and practices among the two communities.
