Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present some existence results for coupled fixed point of a (φ,ψ) —contractive condition for mixed monotone operators in metric spaces endowed with a directed graph. Our results generalize the results obtained by Jain et al. in (International Journal of Analysis, Volume 2014, Article ID 586096, 9 pages). Moreover, we have an application to some integral system to support the results.

Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) have proven to be good nano-sources of heat in the presence of specific electromagnetic radiation. This process, in fact, becomes strongly enhanced under plasmon resonance. In particular, the amount of generated heat and the consequent temperature increase depend on the number of GNPs that are collectively excited and on their relative distance. As a result, the regime of heat localization is deeply controlled by this last parameter. Full Text: PDF ReferencesHutter, E., and Fendler, J. H. Abstract:
Introduction: Non-union of intertrochanteric and supracondylar fractures of femur are uncommon which results in pain and functional disability, presenting major surgical challenge. We wish to report on two cases regarding endoprosthesis as management for non-union. Case Presentation: Patient A is 54 years old lady sustained closed comminuted intertochanteric fracture of right femur (31A2.3). She underwent open reduction, intramedullary nail with cerclage wire on day 3 post trauma. At 6 months, there is sign of avascular necrosis of femur head with non-union fracture site. Patient still complaining of pain, on non-weight bearing ambulation. At 1 year, patient underwent right proximal femur replacement. At 3 months post replacement, she is able to full weight bear with walking cane without pain. Patient B is 56 years old gentleman sustained Grade IIIa open comminuted fracture of right supracondylar with intercondylar split (33C2.2). He underwent emergency wound debridement, screw fixation with high tibial pin insertion. At 4 months, he underwent distal locking plate of right femur with synthetic bone grafting. At 8 months post fixation, there is non-union comminuted fracture of supracondylar, still unable to weight bear. At 1.5 year post trauma, patient underwent right distal femur replacement. At 3 weeks post replacement, he is able to full weight bear without aid. Discussion: Most failures of treatment occur in unstable fracture patterns of hip. (1) Endoprosthesis may provide as alternative treatment if internal fixation are recognized to be suboptimal, amount and quality of remaining distal bone stock and level of the non-union. (2,3) In both our cases, patient experienced marked improvement in functional capacity and pain free, which are the hallmarks of a successful salvage procedure. (4) Conclusion: Endoprosthesis can be consider as alternative treatment for non-union intertrochanteric and supracondylar fracture of femur, hence providing stable joint, pain free and early return to daily activities. OCT-A is becoming more popular in recent years and there is a high demand to improve the quality of angiograms as well as to extract quantitative information. We applied various processing methods for microvasculature enhancement like Hessian-Frangi to a data set obtained with Bessel and Gaussian OCT systems. We used angiogenesis, fractal and multifractal analysis to extract more quantitative information. We applied the processing methods for healthy, stroke, tumor progression and the results of enhanced processing and quantitative analysis for those are presented in this letter. Sah, Binod Kumar. "A Generalised Poisson Mishra Distribution." Nepalese Journal of Statistics 2 (September 26, 2018): 27–36. http://dx.doi.org/10.3126/njs.v2i0.21153.

Full text
Abstract:
Background: “Mishra distribution" of B. K. Sah (2015) has been obtained in honor of Professor A. Mishra, Department of Statistics, Patna University, Patna (Sah, 2015). A one parameter Poisson-Mishra distribution (PMD) of B. K. Sah (2017) has been obtained by compounding Poisson distribution with Mishra distribution. It has been found that this distribution gives better fit to all the discrete data sets which are negative binomial in nature used by Sankarn (1970) and others. A generalisation of PMD has been obtained by mixing the generalised Poisson distribution of Consul and Jain (1973) with the Mishra distribution.Materials and Methods: It is based on the concept of the generalisations of some continuous mixtures of Poisson distribution. Results: Probability density function and the first four moments about origin of the proposed distribution have been obtained. The estimation of parameters of this distribution has been discussed by using the first moment about origin and the probability mass function at x = 0 . This distribution has been fitted to a number of discrete data-sets to which earlier Poisson-Lindley distribution (PLD) and PMD have been fitted. Conclusion: P-value of generalised Poisson-Mishra distribution is greater than PLD and PMD. Hence, it provides a better alternative to the PLD of Sankarn and PMD of B. K. Sah.Nepalese Journal of Statistics, Vol. 2, 27-36

Diop, Fatou. "Genre et expériences carcérales et/ou post-carcérales : processus de stigmatisation des femmes dans les prisons sénégalaises." Thesis, Lyon, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019LYSE2108.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis analyses the process of stigmatization of women who have passed through Senegalese jails. It is part of a comprehensive and interactionist approach to attempt to understand, based on women's prison and post-prison experiences, the continuities and ruptures related to their biography. The analysis of their longitudinal pathways through a survey in and out of detention confirmed our hypothesis that all prisoners are stigmatized, but women are much more affected because of the social and cultural expectations concerning them. The ethnographic investigation, within the two women's prisons and two other correctional facilities, revealed the invisibility of women in these institutions, all inherited from the colonial era, designed by and for men. Women, "forgotten" in the prison system, live in full isolation and constant idleness (lack of real training) that hinders their social and economic reintegration. This lack of support is compounded by the weight of society's stigmatizing gaze. The quantitative survey on social representations showed the differentiated way Senegalese people view detainees in the face of prison ordeal. And interviews with about 50 ex-prisoners, in addition to women prisoners, revealed three types of stigmatization: previous mortification, moral dilemma and shame. This typology varies according to the moral relationship to the offence, the relationship to the family and the strongest moment of stigmatization. While some women manage to reverse their stigma, often through exile, others remain convicted of their prison past

Quayle, Cian. "Inventory for a reverse journey : photographic image and found object : an investigation of travel and material transformation as a paradigm of artist's practice : Ed Ruscha, Douglas Huebler, Bas jan Ader, Jimmie Durham, Gustav Metzger, Kurt Schwitters & Cian Quayle." Thesis, University of the Arts London, 2005. http://ualresearchonline.arts.ac.uk/2308/.

Full text
Abstract:
Inventory for Reverse Journey is the title of a collection of photographic artefacts and found objects, which I have collected over the last twenty years. The title refers to one specific type of artist's journey, which is applicable to the `chronotope' of my archive, as a `metaphorical journey in space and time' (Bakhtin 1981, p. 81). The `city',`provincial town', `road', `threshold' and `interior' are recurrent motifs, which Bakhtin fused together to describe the historical evolution of the novel in relation to its different genres. Bakhtin's motifs are expanded as the basis of an evolutionary nomenclature of the artist's-journey, as a form of spatial mapping and identity formation. Alongside other sources from literature (Alain Robbe-Grillet), cinema (Michelangelo Antonioni), psychoanalysis (Kierkegaard) and critical theory (Walter Benjamin) I have developed a theoretical framework, which initially originated in an empirical process, that is reflected in the antecedents of this project. The research process, as a journey itself, has concretised this approach within a systems-based practice. This is mirrored in the work of the artists under investigation, as their differences and similarities are highlighted within a broad contextual analysis. Accordingly the tone of the writing shifts its register at different points in the thesis. My journey is just one example of several paradigmatic formations of `travel' as a strategy, which investigates the work of six different artists, as a voluntary or involuntary form of exile. A deskilled use of the photographic image is examined in the work of Ed Ruscha, Douglas Huebler and Bas jan Ader in the spatial mapping of their chosen locations. The work of these artists manifests travel, as a strategy, in a benign form of regional and expatriate exile. The investigation shifts its focus from the New World to Europe, where the work of Jimmie Durham, Gustav Metzger and Kurt Schwitters is analysed in relation to their transformation of found objects and materials, and their relationship with a former 'home'. Their position registers different degrees of the `impossibility of return' to a point of origin, which exists in the mind rather than as a physical location. The transience of their work, and use of disparate materials, is counterbalanced by their physical presence in the work. Conversely Ader, Huebler and Ruscha are linked by a scale of decreasing visibility, as they are sublimated within their work in the formation of, what is now construed as, a unique photographic presence. The starting point for which is a return to the formative years of conceptualism in the 1960's, which set the scene for Durham and Metzger from the 1970's onwards. The spectre of Schwitters practice of forming (Formung) and unforming (Entformung) is significant for my analysis of the dematerialisation of the art-work and artist, by processes of series and repetition, distance and proximity, movement and stasis. Although `travel' is a ubiquitous term, I continue to use it as a portmanteau, which carries with it the themes and `salient' features of a typology of artist's journeys. In a moment of perceived obsolescence as digital information systems engender a culture of `selective-amnesia', these thoughts have informed my work, which runs parallel to the artist case-studies, and the material transformation of the photographic image and found object.

Abstract:
v anglickém jazyce The present thesis deals with the life and activities of Hanuš Jelínek (1878-1944), one of the most prominent figures of the Czech-French relations of the first half of the 20th century. Based upon studies of archive documents, press and literature, its aim is to explain his activities namely during the period of the First Republic which has not been much reflected in the literature so far. This is mainly due to the fact that the primary source on Hanuš Jelínek - his memoirs called Zahučaly lesy ("Forrest Murmurs") end in 1919. The thesis is divided into three bigger parts. The first one recapitulates Jelínek's youth, formation of his personality and political views and last but not least the birth of his Francophilia. The second, pivotal part, places emphasis on his effort to get himself established in the nascent Czechoslovak diplomatic services. It analyses the eleven year period Jelínek spent at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as other activities stemming from his position there. The final part deals with Jelínek's cultural life and influences, however, it only gives a general overview necessary in order to understand Jelínek's personal life and has no ambition to review his extensive literary work. It accentuates, though, his work in Lumír journal that Jelínek...

Abstract:
This thesis deals with the course of literary career and with the forms of work of Lenka Procházková, an author, whose literary career started in the turn of late seventies and early eighties in the unofficial literature. As a signee of Charta 77 and a daughter of Jan Procházka - highly acclaimed, yet unpopular for the regime after 1968 - she became a banned author, whose work could not be published within an official structure of Czech literature in the seventies and eighties. Her literary career continues until these days. In the Introduction part the reasons why our interest is aimed at Lenka Procházková in the first place are being described. The basis goals of our work are also stipulated within the Introduction section. In section Fundaments of Research hypotheses for the approach to the following analyses are introduced. In Sources of Information part all used sources are being introduced - already published literary works as well as sources unpublished or materials which have not been compiled yet (archive materials, letters, reminiscences of observers, family and friend eyewitnesses etc.) In the chapter called Life Circumstances accompanying and determining the literary career of Lenka Procházková we present a comprehensive and detailed biography of the author which cannot be found...

Abstract:
Abstract The Times Group has undergone growth and transformation which is unparalleled. The author traces an unencumbered growth and immensely thrilling 181-year-old journey of this humongous media house. The Times Group started out in the year 1838 as Bombay Journal of Commerce, which was later Indianized, once the British were ousted from the country and metamorphosed to a full-fledged family-owned business run by Dalmias followed by the Sahu Jain family. It is under the patronage of this family that the Times Group grew to become the conglomerate it is today. The group not only withstood the uncertainty and challenges of the changing times, but also has its own business tale to tell. The Jains have transformed the company into a major media behemoth spanning print, television, radio, and Internet. The group today owns multiple publications, TV channels, radio stations, and webportals. The group has also branched out to other business areas such realestate, advertising, matrimony, etc. The author in this book has delved deep into the history of the organization and has given a detailed analysis of what resulted in the genesis of the group, to its dissection into subsidiaries, to the launch of new divisions, diversification, product launches, joint ventures, market domination, and what were the major strategic business milestones the group achieved till date. The author met Vineet Jain and tried to understand the business model of the organization.

Abstract:
In this work, the researchers explore how a professional engineering designer documents thoughts during the design process. This research will increase understanding of design thinking, improve the effectiveness of the design profession, and create tools for design education. Analyzing professional design behavior is traditionally done using timed design activities that are audio and video recorded to collect design data. The methodology used here is to analyze a set of handwritten design journals used for one long-term project. A comprehensive cognitive coding scheme is applied that has been verified by applying it to the data set and refined through iteration. The coding scheme has also been validated by producing comparative results to similar design studies found in the literature such as Atman, Suwa, and Jain. The results found that the professional was very detailed, spent a considerable amount of time on project management and that students are recording in the design journal for different reasons and at different times during the design process than the professional.

Abstract:
The motivation of this paper is to highlight the importance of the work carried out during the last decade by Prof. Haagensen and Prof. Berge at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU, with the aim to inspire and motivate young engineers to continue their important and valuable research within fatigue and fracture. This paper will focus on their historical contribution to the research within fatigue and fracture of offshore and ship structures. Stig Berge is a professor of Marine Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU. He has spent his academic carrier focusing on fatigue of offshore and ship structures; he has published more than 70 papers and articles in well-known journals and conferences since 80’s. Per Jahn Haagensen is currently an Emeritus professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering and Logistic Faculty of Technology. He has spent his whole research carrier within fatigue and fracture related topics mainly for the offshore industry. He is especially known for the different fatigue improvement methods which have been developed since the 90’s. He has until recently been an active member of the International Institute of Welding (IIW). This article aims to present their main findings and conclusions from their long academic carrier. While the authors have strived to convey in a single paper an overview of the careers and important contributions, the Professors themselves may well have chosen to place a different emphasis on their work.

Abstract:
BackgroundCare recipients in care and welfare are increasingly presenting themselves with complex needs (Huber et al., 2016). An answer to this is the integrated organization of care and welfare in a way that personalized care is the measure (Topol, 2016). The reality, however, is that care and welfare are still mainly offered in a standardized, specialized and fragmented way. This imbalance between the need for care and the supply of care not only leads to under-treatment and over-treatment and thus to less (experienced) quality, but also entails the risk of mis-treatment, which means that patient safety is at stake (Berwick, 2005). It also leads to a reduction in the functioning of citizens and unnecessary healthcare cost (Olsson et al, 2009).Integrated CareIntegrated care is the by fellow human beings experienced smooth process of effective help, care and service provided by various disciplines in the zero line, the first line, the second line and the third line in healthcare and welfare, as close as possible (Ettema et al, 2018; Goodwin et al, 2015). Integrated care starts with an extensive assessment with the care recipient. Then the required care and services in the zero line, the first line, the second line and / or the third line are coordinated between different care providers. The care is then delivered to the person (fellow human) at home or as close as possible (Bruce and Parry, 2015; Evers and Paulus, 2015; Lewis, 2015; Spicer, 2015; Cringles, 2002).AimSupport societal participation, quality of live and reduce care demand and costs in people with complex care demands, through integration of healthcare and welfare servicesMethods (overview)1. Create best healthcare and welfare practices in Slovenia, Poland, Austria, Norway, UK, Finland, The Netherlands: three integrated best care practices per involved country 2. Get insight in working mechanisms of favourable outcomes (by studying the contexts, mechanisms and outcomes) to enable personalised integrated care for meeting the complex care demand of people focussed on societal participation in all integrated care best practices.3. Disclose program design features and requirements regarding finance, governance, accountability and management for European policymakers, national policy makers, regional policymakers, national umbrella organisations for healthcare and welfare, funding organisations, and managers of healthcare and welfare organisations.4. Identify needs of healthcare and welfare deliverers for creating and supporting dynamic partnerships for integrating these care services for meeting complex care demands in a personalised way for the client.5.
