Abstract:
The Jawi script is a Malay traditional writing system adapted from the Arabic alphabet which was once used widely during the reign of the British Empire before Romanisation of the Malay writing system took place. It is regarded as a national heritage of Malaysia due to the fact that Bahasa Melayu is the national language of the country. There have been many initiatives taken by the government in preserving the Jawi script including the insertion of Jawi lessons in the Bahasa Melayu subject at the primary school level. However, the new education policy has roused an argument among Malaysians, particularly non-Malays who have been in disagreement towards the new syllabus implemented. The study examined the perceptions and attitudes of non-Malays in Malaysia towards the Jawi script. This descriptive study involved 30 respondents who were approached and invited to participate in the survey. The result portrayed that the participants showed neutral perceptions towards the Jawi script on the basis that it has its own artistic values that should be preserved.

Penguasaan bahasa Arab sangat penting untuk memahami ajaran Islam. Umat Islam membentuk satu masyarakat atas dasar kesamaan keyakinan, terlepas dari perbedaan bahasa, budaya, dan ras mereka. Masyarakat Muslim mendasarkan keyakinan kepada Allah yang Maha Esa dan juga wahyu terakhir, yaitu Al-Qur’an dalam bahasa Arab sebagai pedoman bagi umat manusia. Bahasa Arab berfungsi sebagai bahasa pemersatu umat Muslim. Oleh karena itu, mempelajari dan mengajarkan bahasa Arab sangat penting bagi umat Islam. Di Indonesia, selain menggunakan tulisan dan bahasa Arab, pada masa silam banyak orang menggunakan huruf Jawi. Misalnya, di Lombok masih dapat ditemukan buku-buku keislaman yang ditulis dengan huruf Jawi dan dalam bahasa Melayu. Sayangnya, huruf Jawi ini tidak lagi diajarkan kepada generasi muda. Artikel ini membahas tentang pentingnya memperkenalkan kembali huruf Jawi kepada generasi muda dengan menggunakan metode Total Physical Response (TPR). إن اتقان اللغة العربية مهم لفهم التعاليم الإسلامية. كوّنت الأمة الإسلامية مجتمعا واحدا على أساس وحدة العقيدة، وعلى اختلاف اللغات والثقافات والجنسيات. يعتقد المسلمون بالإيمان بالله وحده والوحي الأخير – القرآن الكريم – المكتوب باللغة العربية المنزّل منذ 1400 سنة وهو هدى للناس. لذا فإن اللغة العربية أصبحت لغة موحّدة للمسلمين. لذا فإن تعلّم اللغة العربية وتعليمها مهمان للمسلمين. وإتقان اللغة العربية يستجلب المنافع الاقتصادية، لأن المتقنين بها يمكن أن يعملوا في الدول الغنية (الشرق الأوسط) مثل السعودية ودولة الإمارات المتّحدة. وعلى الأخص في إندونيسيا، بجانب استخدام الحروف العربية، قديما تُستخدم كذلك الحروف الجاوية. والمثال على ذلك، توجد في لومبوك الكتب الإسلامية مكتوبة بالحروف الجاوية وباللغة المالوية .ومع الأسف فإن هذه الحروف الجوية لا تُعلّم للشبان الإندونيسيين. لذلك، فإن هذه المقالة تبحث في إعادة التعريف بالحروف الجاوية وتطبيق طريقة (Total Physical Response (TPR في تعليم اللغة العربية.

Abstract:
This analysis analyzes the Malay kitab entitled “Risalah” which is transcribed into Jawi by Ahmad bin Sulaiman Kamal from the original writing in Arabic written by Alim Ad-Dahri. The focus of this analysis is women’s characters found in the text. The text conveys ten women characters likened to animals. The knowledge about these women characters assists men to judge before marrying the women since a wife plays important role in determining a good marriage. This analysis qualitative descriptive analysis started with the process of translation from Jawi to the Latin alphabet. This analysis will contribute a lot in choosing a spouse to avoid failure in a marriage. Thus, it is needed to be socialized with the public.

Abstract:
The spread of Islam in Nusantara has not only influenced social change, but also in language development. One of the languages used in Nusantara at that time was the Malay language. Malay as lingua franca has an important role in communication between traders in the Malacca Strait. Arabic also serves as a lingua franca especially in the spread of Islam. Arabic and Malay have the same position, namely as lingua franca, causing language contact. This language contact represents a balance of two languages resulting in language borrowing. This research is libraryresearch with qualitative-descriptive method. This paper describes the influence of the spread of Islam in Nusantara to the development of Malay (Bahasa). The conclusion of this study shows that the spread of Islam in Nusantara influences the system alphabet (alphabet Jawi), the form of loanword, the domain of loanword, and Arabic-Latin transli¬teration. Keywords: The spread of Islam; influence; contact language; lingua franca; loanword Penyebaran agama Islam di Nusantara tidak hanya berpengaruh pada perubahan sosial, tetapi juga pada perkembangan bahasa. Salah satu bahasa yang digunakan di wilayah Nusantara pada saat itu adalah bahasa Melayu, yang kemudian menjadi bahasa Indonesia. Bahasa Melayu sebagai lingua franca memiliki peranan penting dalam memperlancar komunikasi antarpedagang di Selat Malaka. Bahasa Arab juga berperan sebagai lingua franca terutama dalam penyebaran agama Islam. Bahasa Arab dan bahasa Melayu memiliki kedudukan yang sama, yakni sebagai lingua franca sehingga menimbulkan kontak bahasa. Peristiwa kontak bahasa ini mepresentasikan adanya keseimbangan dua bahasa yang mengakibatkan peminjaman bahasa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pustaka dengan metode deskriptif-kualitatif. Tulisan ini memaparkan pengaruh penyebaran Islam di Nusantara terhadap perkembangan bahasa Melayu (bahasa Indonesia). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyebaran agama Islam di Nusantara berpengaruh pada sistem aksara (abjad Jawi), bentuk serapan, bidang penyerapan, dan transliterasi Arab-Latin. Indonesian languagethat comes from the Malay language has a long history, There are some developmentspase formation of the Indonesian language, namely Old Malay, Malay Market, HigherMalay, and Bahasa Indonesian. Abstract:
The background of this research was the poor ability of writing Javanese Alphabet in Javanese Language subject of the fourth grade students in SD N 1 Alasmalang. The purpose of this research was improving the ability of writing Javanese Alphabet through cooperative learning model of round table type using flashcard media. This classroom action research was conducted in two phases, which were cycle I and cycle II that included twice meetings in each cycle. The subject of this research were 20 students of the fourth grade students in SD N 1 Alasmalang in academic year 2018/2019, which consisted 11 males and 9 females. The instruments used were test and non-test. The classroom action research that was proposed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart involved planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The observation result in the learning process of cycle I and cycle II showed that the students’ ability of writing Javanese Alphabet was improved. The result of the cycle 1 achieved 59,5% with enough criteria and the cycle II was improved into 80% with good criteria. The students’ ability of writing Javanese Alphabet had achieved the indicator of success that was determined with good criteria at least 75% from the minimum criteria of mastery learning (KKM), which was 70. From the findings, it can be concluded that Round Table using flashcard media was able to improve the ability of writing Javanese alphabhet.

Abstract:
Permasalahan di SDN Banyuputih 01 yaitu rendahnya hasil belajar materi Aksara Jawa dan tidak adanya media pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangkan multimedia materi Aksara Jawa. Metode penelitian ini Research and Development (R&D). Subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV SDN Banyuputih 01 dan SDN Banyuputih 04 yang berjumlah 49. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan non tes. Instrumen non tes dengan wawancara, observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan instrumen tes yaitu soal uji coba, soal tes awal, dan tes akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan multimedia layak digunakan berdasarkan ahli materi, bahasa, dan ahli media, hasil perhitungan analisis data akhir uji pemakaian produk di kelas yaitu uji z didapatkan Zhitung > Ztabel yaitu 2,319 > 1,64, hasil uji-t didapatkan thitung ≤ - ttabel yaitu -5,31 ≤ -2,04, dan uji n-gain 0,701 dengan kriteria tinggi. Simpulan penelitian adalah multimedia layak digunakan dan efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Jawa siswa kelas IV SDN Banyuputih 01. The problems in Banyuputih State Elementary School 01 were based on the low cognitive learning outcomes in Javanese subjects precisely on (Javanese Alphabet) material and the absence of Javanese learning media. This research aimed to develop multimedia (Javanese alphabet) material. This metod of research was Research and Development (R&D). The research subject was the students of grade IV Elementary School in Banyuputih 01 and Elementary School in Banyuputih 04 which amounted to 49 students. Data collection techniques are test and non-test. Non-test instruments used were interviews, observation, poll, and documentation, while the test instruments used are questions of trials, preliminary tests, and final tests. Eligibility assesment results demonstrate could be used based on material expert assessment, language amounted, and the media assessment. The results of the calculation of final data analysis in classes of the z test obtained Zcount> Ztable is 2.319> 1.64, the results of the t-test obtained tcount ≤ - ttable is -5.31 ≤ -2.04 while the test results n -gain 0.701 with high criteria. The conclusion of this research was that adobe flash-based (Javanese alphabet) multimedia material was feasible to used and was effective in improving the learning outcomes of Javanese students in grade IV Banyuputih State Elementary School 01.

Abstract:
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh asesmen portofolio terhadap kemandirian dan minat menulis Aksara Bali pada siswa kelas VIII di SMP N 2 Banjar. Penelitian ini tergolong dalam quasi eksperiment dengan jenis post-tests only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini berasal dari kelas VIII dengan jumlah 9 kelas. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling. Kesembilan kelas yang sudah dinyatakan setara melalui uji F diundi untuk mendapatkan sampel. Sampel penelitian ini menggunkan 2 kelas, yaitu kelas VIII 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII 5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa kuesioner kemandirian menulis Aksara Bali dan kuesioner minat menulis Aksara Bali. Analisis yang digunakan adalah MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa, 1) terdapat perbedaan kemandirian dan minat menulis Aksara Bali antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan asesmen portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti asesmen uraian; 2) Terdapat perbedaan kemandirian menulis Aksara Bali antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan asesmen portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti asesmen uraian; 3) Terdapat perbedaan minat menulis Aksara Bali antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan asesmen portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti asesmen uraian. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa asesmen portofolio berpengaruh positif terhadap kemandirian dan minat menulis Aksara Bali siswa, asesmen portofolio berpengaruh terhadap kemandirian menulis Aksara Bali siswa, dan asesmen portofolio berpengaruh positif terhadap minat menulis Aksara Bali siswa.Kata Kunci : asesmen portofolio, kemandirian, minat This study aims at finding out the effects of portfolio assessment on the independent and the interest in writing Balinese�s alphabet toward VIII grade students in SMP N 2 Banjar. This study belongs to quasi experiment with post-tests only control group design type. The populations of this study are 9 classes from VIII grade students. The sample selected by using random sampling technique. All nine classes� students which were considered equivalent by using F test were voted as samples. 2 classes that voted were used as samples in this study were class VIII 1 as an experiment class and class VIII 5 as controlled class. The instrument used in this study are Balinese�s alphabet writing independent questionnaire and Balinese alphabet writing interest questionnaire. This study analyzed using MANOVA. The result of this study showed that 1) There are differences between independent and interest in writing Balinese�s alphabet between students that are assessed by portfolio assessment and description assessment. 2) There are differences in Balinese�s alphabet writing independent between students that are assessed by portfolio assessment and description assessment. 3) There are differences in Balinese�s alphabet writing interest between students that are assessed by portfolio assessment and description assessment. It can be concluded that portfolio assessment gives good influences toward student�s independent and interest in writing Balinese�s alphabet, portfolio assessment gives good influences toward student�s independent in writing Balinese�s alphabet, portfolio assessment gives good influences toward student�s interest in writing Balinese�s alphabetkeyword : portfolio assessment, independence, interest

Abstract:
<p class="Abstrak"><strong>Abstract:</strong> The purpose of the research and development that is producing a eligible interactive multimedia Javanese alphabet products with valid criteria, practical, interesting, and effective. This research and development using model Lee &amp; Owens. They use some following steps; (1) analysis assessment, (2) designs, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The results showed that interactive multimedia were very valid with an average percentage of 86,93%, very practical with an average percentage of 89,83%, very interesting with an average of 88,97%. Interactive multimedia is also very effective, as evidenced by the results of the posttest for 91.66% of students who have received complete marks.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Tujuan penelitian dan pengembangan ini yaitu untuk menghasilkan multimedia interaktif aksara Jawa yang layak dengan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, menarik, dan efektif. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini menggunakan model dari Lee &amp; Owens. Tahapan pengembangan yaitu (1) analisis kebutuhan dan analisis awal-akhir, (2) desain, (3) pengembangan, (4) implementasi, dan (5) eveluasi. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa multimedia interaktif sangat valid dengan rata-rata persentase 86,93%, sangat praktis dengan rata-rata presentase 89,83%, sangat menarik dengan rata-rata persentase 88,97%. Multimedia interaktif ini juga sangat efektif dibuktikan dengan hasil <em>posttest </em>sebesar 91,66% siswa telah mendapatkan nilai tuntas.
