Abstract:
The mechanical properties of the periodontal ligaments are highly difficult to measure and at the same time extremely to be characterized. The effect of the teeth on the growth of the jaws had been investigated by the early researchers. We think that the PD ligament component in the alveolar process is an analogue to the epiphyseal plate. In this paper we had presented a model to highlight the importance of the PD ligaments on the mechanical response of the jaws.

In the previous paper, we had demonstrated clearly the importance of teeth socket on the remodeling capacity of bone via numerical model. In the current aper we want to demonstrate a very important issue associated with teeth. Jaw weakening is not only important for growth or bone maintenance, but also for reduction of trauma sequalae.

Teeth had a special attachment to the alveolar processes of the jaws. These unique anatomical domains are considered by anatomists as a specialised joint. It had special molecular signalling. These attachments of the teeth provide unparalleled discontinuities in the alveolar processes with long life maintenance due to the nature of the ectomesenchymal tissues and their embryonic origin. The bone mechanical transduction is controlled by osteocytes. Osteocytes need predetermined displacement, which is peculiar to each anatomical region. Skin aging is characterized by several changes in various tissues, including loss of collagen, redistribution of subcutaneous fat, bone resorption and subsequent remodeling of the jaws, and weakening of the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS). HIFU microfocused ultrasound is described as a non-invasive treatment option for facial sagging and aging treatment, this technique is capable of producing controlled thermal coagulation points in the papillary, reticular dermis and Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS), causing immediate contraction, thereby inducing the production o

Post extraction bone resorption is an eventual process that affect the alveolar processes to various extents. We tried to emulate the resorption of the alveolar process depending upon the stiffness of a dentulous model. Resorption is a perquisite to maintain healthy bone and it must be understood as a more complicated process that just attribute it to the loss of loading transmitted to the alveolar process vis teeth. This is the first time such a model had been presented. This model is based upon the model of jaw weakening caused by the teeth presence with sound healthy PD ligaments components

Abstract:
Seawater is needed for chemistry, energy, and desalination. These devices collect massive amounts of seawater for desalination, cooling, and processing. These industries’ performance and cost-effectiveness depend on seawater intake system reliability. In hostile marine environments, seawater intake systems face biofouling, silt, and corrosion. Biofouling plagues seawater intake systems. Wet intake screens and lines support bacteria, plants, algae, and animals. BIOFouling jams screens and prevents water flow. It also causes corrosion and increases maintenance, reducing intake system performance

Abstract:
Ice is an important part of the Alaska ecosystems and can form through dynamic (e.g., frazil) or static (e.g., thermal) processes. In Alaska, both freeze-up and breakup ice jams occur, however breakup jams during the spring snowmelt period are most common. Historically there have been many river systems in Alaska that have chronic ice jam issues. These ice jams have resulted in several significant ice jam floods. There are ice jam mitigation techniques that can be used to either provide state and local emergency managers warnings of a potential ice jam or reduce the impacts of a jam. Common re
