Odreći se prošlosti u ime budućnosti, koja proživljavanjem i sama postaje prošlost, za mene je oduvijek značilo nemati ni prošlosti ni budućnosti, živjeti u trenutku i za trenutak kao životinja… To čovjek od sebe ne bi smio učiniti. Radi sebe, mnogo bi izgubio, a dobio ne bi ništa, najmanje budućnost… Ivan Aralica Život nastanjen sjenama. U radu se piše o životu, mučeništvu i kultu svetoga Jure. Potom slijedi sedamnaest poglavlja u kojima se navodi i multidisciplinarno interpretira preko stotinu pedeset primjera legendi, obreda, običaja, ophoda, proricanja, vjerovanja, usmenih lirskih pjesama, molitvi. U radu je preko stotinu primjera zapisanih u prethodnih desetak godina u sedamdesetak mjesta u Republici Hrvatskoj i Bosni i Hercegovini. Sve to zorno svjedoči da je sveti Jure jedan od najštovanijih svetaca u Hrvata. Štovanje blagdana Svetoga Jure ogleda se u svjetovnim i vjerskim običajima i obredima. U folklornom smislu Jurjevo je uz Badnji dan najbogatiji dan u godini. Neki od jurjevskih običaja, obreda, vjerovanja i proricanja pretkršćanskoga su podrijetla, a u nekima se prepleću pretkršćansko s kršćanskim. Najviše svjetovnih obreda, ophoda i običaja imaju apotropejski i panspermijski karakter. Premda blagdan Svetoga Jure nije zapovjedni, Hrvati katolici slave ga škropljenjem, svetim misama, procesijama, hodočašćima, zavjetima i molitvama.

U radu se bavimo fra Jurom Božitkovićem u ulozi istraživača i povjesničara hrvatske filozofske baštine. Uz uvodna i zaključna promišljaja rad ima tri poglavlja. U prvom poglavlju donose se osnovni podatci o životu i radu fra Jure Božitkovića. Drugo poglavlje bavi se njegovim filozofskim stvaralaštvom u kojem smo popisali sve njegove bibliografske jedinice iz područja filozofije. Treće poglavlje sadrži razvrstavanje te kratak prikaz i analizu Božitkovićeva filozofskog opusa u cjelini, s posebnim naglaskom na istraživanje hrvatske filozofske baštine. Iz analize proizlazi da se Božitković najviše bavio starijom hrvatskom filozofijom, istraživao arhive franjevačkih samostana Franjevačke provincije Presvetog Otkupitelja te analizirao i predstavio filozofiju našeg znamenitog filozofa Ante Petrića, koji je sve svoje radove iz filozofije napisao i objavio na talijanskom jeziku. Zaključno se može reći da je Božitkovićevo značenje u sustavnom istraživanju i opisivanju rukopisne filozofske građe po franjevačkim samostanskim knjižnicama te u sustavnom bavljenju filozofijom Ante Petrića.

Biokovo je gorski masiv v obalnem delu Dinarskega gorstva na Hrvaškem. S podrobno morfografsko in morfometrično analizo najvišjega dela gorskega masiva smo določili obseg in značilnosti mlajšepleistocenske poledenitve. Izdelali smo rekonstrukcijo topografije ledenikov in izračunali višino njihove ravnovesne meje. Ugotovili smo, da sta bila severovzhodno pod vrhom Sveti Jure dva krniška ledenika s skupno površino 1 km2, ravnovesna meja pa je bila na višini 1515 m.

U ovom članku autori analiziraju slavnu presudu kralja Salomona. Riječ je o lingvističkoj analizi koja se usredotočuje na hebrejski jezik i gramatiku. Autori započinju općim uvodom o slavnoj mudrosti kralja Salomona te nastavljaju kratkim sažetkom pripovijedanja o suđenju i opisom njezine strukture. Posebna se pažnja posvećuje pojedinim izrazima (riječima) i njihovim skrivenim značenjima. Autori uspoređuju hebrejsku verziju teksta s dva najčešće korištena prijevoda na hrvatskom jeziku, onim urednikâ Jure Kaštelana i Bonaventure Dude (Kršćanska sadašnjost) te osuvremenjenim prijevodom Ivana Evanđelista Šarića, i u njima pronalaze vrlo značajne razlike u riječima koje su korištene, ali i ispuštene, u tim prijevodima na hrvatski jezik. Članak također nastoji kritički promišljati je li kralj Salomon uistinu postupio mudro svojom psihološkom presudom. Značajan dio rada jest i hipoteza da je kralj Salomon znao koja je od dviju žena prava majka prije negoli je donio presudu i da to nije saznao tek poslije. Kako bi potvrdili ovu hipotezu, autori navode razne lingvističke dokaze. Svoje istraživanje započinju pitanjem zašto nam sâma Biblija ne daje pravu pozadinu priče te na to pitanje nastoje dati odgovor u tekstu članka. Autori se u radu služe mnogim izvorima iz rabinske književnosti – od talmudskih vremena, preko srednjovjekovlja pa sve do modernog doba. Većinu ovih tekstova, izvorno napisanih hebrejskim i aramejskim, autori su sada prvi put preveli na hrvatski jezik.

Osnovna škola Jure Kaštelana iz Zagreba dio je programa Međunarodne Eko-škole zbog čega njezini učenici aktivno promišljaju o načinima kojima mogu doprinijeti zdravijem okolišu svoje četvrti. U razgovoru s učenicima rodila se ideja o projektu “Tagirajmo #otpad”. Cilj projekta je istražiti svoju blisku životnu okolinu te geofotografskim podacima zabilježiti i mapirati spremnike za otpad, reciklažna dvorišta te moguća ilegalna odlagališta otpada. Kao rezultat toga, želi se ponuditi ostalim četvrtima i lokalnim zajednicama pristup geografsko-informacijskom sustavu “#ekokvart“ i tako omogućiti svakom građaninu i gostu Lijepe naše da bilo gdje u Hrvatskoj može saznati gdje odlagati koji otpad, jednostavno koristeći GPS koordinate putem mobilnih uređaja. Zabilježene geofotografske i druge podatke će prikazati kroz geografski informacijski sustav “#ekokvart“. Kroz projekt učenici uče u skladu s novim Kurikulumom koji sve veći naglasak stavlja na međupredmetno provođenje tema poučavajući učenike na holistički način i uključuje učenike u njihovu blisku životnu i društvenu zajednicu kroz gospodarske, ekonomske i društveno osviještene projekte. Naglasak projekta jest na činjenici što će te podatke iznijeti sami učenici, pa će upravo mlade generacije doprinijeti zdravijem okolišu i primjerom će se prema ostatku zajednice očitovati kao eko učitelji.

Este artigo tem como objetivo abordar as interações interculturais que o filme canadense “Professor Lazhar, o que traz boas novas” (“Monsieur Lazhar”, 2012), trata enquanto uma temática universal, sob a luz da noção, oriunda da Semiótica Russa, de semiosfera que se revela apta para traduzir a dinâ- mica de campos culturais em uma formação social. Phillipe Falardeau, cineasta conhecido por tratar de questões contemporâneas sobre a angústia de crianças juntos a pais em conflito (“C’est pas moi je le jure”, 2007), e sobre a invenção de carros híbridos despoluentes em respeito ao ambiente (“Congorama”, 2005), efetua uma tradução fílmica de uma peça teatral de Evelyne de la Chenelière para realizar “Professor Lazhar”. U radu se prikazuje izuzetan životopis župnika don Ante Adžije (1880.- 1944.), najznačajnije i najistaknutije osobe 20. st. u Starigradu-Paklenici, koji je nepravedno i neopravdano zapostavljen u sagledavanju pastoralnog, humanitarnog, kulturološkog, socijalno-ekonomskog, prosvjetiteljskog i drugih djelovanja u župi u razdoblju između dva svjetska rata. Njegovom zaslugom selo iz prve polovice 20. st. postalo je najrazvijenija turistička općina na potezu od Karlobaga do Zadra. Svrha ovoga rada je senzibilizirati svijest o takvim pojedincima, velikanima, koji su svojim radom zadužili svoj narod i kulturu kojoj pripadaju. Rad se sastoji od tri dijela. U prvom se govori o životnom putu, podrijetlu, školovanju i svećeničkoj djelatnosti do premještanja u župu Starigrad-Paklenica 1923. U drugom dijelu govori se o radu u novoj župi na vjerskom, kulturno- povijesnom, prosvjetiteljskom, zdravstvenom, planinarsko-turističkom i gospodarskom planu kako bi joj u "najpustijem kraju Zadarske nadbiskupije" postavio temelje za svekoliki napredak. Na tim zasadama StarigradPaklenica razvio se u modernu turističku općinu. U povijesnom kontekstu Prve Jugoslavije u otežalim društveno-političkim i ekonomskim prilikama, koje su se odrazile i u pasivnim krajevima Podgorja, don Ante Adžija nije gubio vjeru u ostvarenje svojih mesijanskih ciljeva. Volio je svoj narod, svoje Starogradce i kao Božji poslanik koristio sve prilike i mogućnosti da im pridonese boljitak. Radi toga je razvijao suradnju s uglednim ličnostima iz društveno-političkog, gospodarskog i kulturnog kruga Primorske i Savske banovine (od Rijeke do Splita i Zagreba), uglednih znanstvenika, znanstvenika-planinara iz Hrvatske i inozemstva. Poseban osvrt u radu je na njegovu istraživanju kulturno-povijesne baštine, prikupljanju arheološke građe (antičke i starohrvatskih sakralnih spomenika), utemeljenju muzeja u župnoj kući, obnovi i uređenju sačuvanih sakralnih objekata. Kao suradnik Muzeja hrvatskih spomenika i član Starinarskog muzejskog društva u Kninu, sudjelovao je 1941. u spašavanju starohrvatske baštine s područja sjeverne Dalmacije. U trećem dijelu umjesto zaključka, govori se da ga ni okolnosti Drugog svjetskog rata nisu omele, premda je slutio smrt već 1941., da nesebično radi za svoju župu i župljane i da kao Spasitelj spašava čovjeka, svoj narod i njegovu baštinu, sve do svoje mučeničke smrti 1944. Ovaj rad baziran je na zapisnicima Podružnice HPD "Paklenica,"pod nazivom Starigrad pod Velebitom iz Arhiva muzeja Samobor, člancima iz časopisa "Hrvatski planinar" iz Arhiva HPS-a Zagreb (od 1923. do 1940.), novinskim člancima i obiteljskom foto-materijalu i materijalu iz nepoznatih izvora na stranicama Facebooka. U radu su uključena i svjedočanstva uže rodbine don Ante Adžije, mještana na starigradskoj Punti, zapisa uglednih planinara i drugih koji su ga poznavali. Budući da se stručna literatura nije do sada ozbiljno bavila njime, osim kratkih zapisa o pastoralnom radu prije dolaska u župu Starigrad-Paklenica i nekoliko podataka, uglavnom nepotpunih i netočnih, o njegovoj smrti. Starigradskopakleničko stvaralačko razdoblje od 1923. do 1944., do danas nije ušlo u stručnu literaturu, osim skromnog zapisa autorice povodom 60. obljetnice njegove smrti. Zato ovaj rad valja promatrati kao polazište za buduća istraživanja, temeljena na eventualnoj nepoznatoj arhivskoj građi koja u danom trenutku nije bila dostupna. To se u prvom redu odnosi na arhivsku dokumentaciju banske uprave obiju Banovina i državne uprave. Sva njegova rukopisna građa i dokumentacija čuvana u župnoj kući i župnoj crkvi sv. Jure spaljena je 1944., a jedan dio pisane sakralne građe bačen je u more, čime je oštećen njegov pastoralni i istraživačko-stvaralački životopis, a time i "životopis" starigradskopakleničke povijesti.

Kniha se věnuje tématu, které je v oblasti politologického výzkumu do značné míry marginální. Nicméně domníváme se, že studium politiky nejmenších evropských států s demokratickými formami vládnutí má potenciál přinést výsledky, jež dají vyniknout některým skutečnostem či vztahům, které zůstávají při komparativní analýze politických systémů „standardních“ států nevýrazné či bez povšimnutí. Při studiu politiky malých států je pozornost nutně věnována prvkům a rysům charakteristickým pro suverénní státy (vnitřní i zahraniční politika) a zároveň atributům typickým spíše pro politiku na komunální či regionální úrovni. Právě popsané propojení několika rovin v prostředí nejmenších evropských demokratických států činí jejich komparativní analýzu nosnou a zajímavou. Publikace je primárně určena akademické veřejnosti se zájmem o komparativní politologii, politickou geografii či postavení určitým způsobem netypických aktérů v mezinárodním systému. Vzhledem k bohaté faktografické stránce jednotlivých případových studií je knihu možné doporučit i čtenářům, kteří se zajímají o historii, kulturu a politiku nejmenších evropských států, tj. zemí, které jsou zajímavé i proto, že se do jejich historického a politického formování promítal vývoj celého evropského kontinentu – existence velmi malých států je ostatně umožněna pouze shodou příhodných historických okolností a politické instituce a procesy v některých z nich představují unikátní relikty. To činí nejmenší evropské státy pozoruhodnými nejen z perspektivy politické vědy.

Une fois ce principe rejeté, comme je le propose ici, le problème traditionnel de l'acrasie, qui est celui de sa possibilité même, s'évanouit. Je soutiens, cependant, qu'un problème plus limité semble se poser si nous admettons que les actions acrasiques doivent s'expliquer par des raisons, et je requiers que les explications en de tels cas soient de type naturaliste. Je montre que la difficulté se trouve résolue par une compréhension adéquate de la nature des explications naturalistes.

Introduction: Japanese Encephalitis (JE), a leading cause of AES is a vector-borne disease is caused by the JE virus belonging to the genus Flavivirus (Flaviviridae family), and transmitted by bite of Culex vishnui subgroup tritaeniorhynchus, the most important reported vector species for JE transmission in India. Methodology: A study was conducted on 1131 AES suspected cases in JE laboratory of Centre for Arboviral and Zoonotic diseases, National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Delhi from tertiary care referral hospitals of Delhi for laboratory confirmation of JE during the period from January 2017- December 2019. CSF and/ or Serum Samples from 1131 hospitalized AES suspected cases mostly from Delhi, UP, Haryana addresses. They were tested and interpreted for IgM antibodies by the JE IgM Capture ELISA kit (National Institute of Virology, Pune). The demographic profile (age/ sex/ seasonality/ place) of JE confirmed cases were analyzed. Result: 77 (6.8%) out of 1131 AES suspected cases were JE confirmed. 48 patients (62.2%) were of pediatric age group 19 (24.7%) were of middle age adult and 10 (13.0 %) were older age adults out of 77 JE confirmed cases.. The JE cases occurred throughout the year, though maximum cases were observed in the monsoon seasons (June-October) in our study. In our study most of the JE confirmed patients were residents of state of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Conclusion: The study attempts to highlight the need of strengthening quality of laboratory detection of JE in AES cases, need for intensive vector control policy and re-evaluation of the policy of JE vaccination in India.

U članku se govori o hrvatskoglagoljskom notarijatu, javnobilježničkoj instituciji koja je pravne akte svojih stranaka objavljivala glagoljicom na hrvatskom jeziku, o njegovoj ulozi u pravnom životu i trajanju te o obradi i objavi njegovih isprava. Teorijom i praksom izdavanja povijesnih izvora poput tih isprava bavi se pomoćna povijesna znanost koja se naziva egdotika (arheografija). U članku se raščlanjuje dvanaest izdanja glagoljskih notarskih isprava. Vrsnoća im se poprilično ogleda u odgovorima na pitanja o egdotičkim postupcima: na koji se način predstavlja izvorni tekst, koja su načela toga prijenosa (dosljedna transliteracija, transliteracija u kombinaciji s transkripcijskim zahvatima ili transkripcija), je li izvorni tekst dovoljno jasan, pomažu li ortografske intervencije boljemu razumijevanju izvornoga teksta, koliko je izvorni tekst vjeran izvorniku, koliko je korisno eventualno preslikavanje strukture izvornika u izvorni tekst, treba li ugraditi kritički aparat pod izvorni tekst, na koji se način objavljuje sam izvornik itd. Autori drže da je izdanjem Trećega notarskoga protokola Jura Sormilića (1726. – 1734.) pružen dobar model za egdotiku glagoljskih isprava jer izvorni tekst uz prateće elemente poput dvojezičnoga zaglavlja optimalno zadovoljava potrebe očuvanja veze s izvornikom i nužne prilagodbe interpretaciji.

Sjeverno-američka stjenica, Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann, 1910, jedna je od 16 neeuropskih vrsta stjenica do danas unešenih u Europu, od kojih 10 potječe upravo iz Sjeverne Amerike (Rabitsch, 2010). Zbog svojeg prirodnog područja pridolaska u Sjevernoj Americi, područja Pacifičke obale omeđena lancem Stjenjaka na zapadu, Amerikanci su je nazvali „zapadnom stjenicom sjemena četinjača” (western conifer seed bug), čime su, uz područja pridolaska, naznačili i njenu štetnost za sjeme drvenastih vrsta iz porodice Pinaceae. Zbog osobite morfološke značajke, spljoštenog proširenja goljenice stražnjih nogu, također je poznata i kao „stjenica listolikog stopala“ (leaf-footed bug). Slovenski autori iskoristili su ovaj naziv kao predložak i dodali mu češer kao objekt prehrane, pa su je nazvali „storževa listonoška“ (Jurc & Jurc, 2005). U svakom slučaju, ova se stjenica nakon dolaska na europski kontinent u Italiji 1999. godine (Taylor et al. 2001.) vrlo brzo širila Europom, pa je u nepunih 10 godina prodrla u velik broj europskih zemalja, od Velike Britanije na zapadu, do Ukrajine i Rusije na istoku, od Norveške na sjeveru do Turske na jugu (Malumphy & Reid, 2007; Fent & Kment, 2011; Gapon, 2013). Među zemljama juga Europe, kojima se proširio ovaj novi invazivni štetnik, našla se i Bosna i Hercegovina. U radu su prikazani svi provjereni i dokumentirani nalazi L. occidentalis na području BiH, od prvog pronalaska i do sada neobjavljenog nalaza iz travnja 2008. godine (zgrada Zemaljskog muzeja BiH u Sarajevu), pa do najsvježijih nalaza ljeti i ujesen 2016. godine (Igman, Neum, Banja Luka). Recentno područje na kojemu je evidentirana ova nova invazivna stjenica u BiH, pregledno je prikazano prostorno označenim podacima nalaza na slici 1. Iako očekivan, značajan je i prvi nalaz ove nove invazivne stjenice u reliktnim sastojinama bora munjike (Pinus heldreichii H. Christ) u masivu Prenja u studenom 2010. godine.Uvid u kronološki slijed i prostornu distribuciju nalaza L. occidentalis u Bosni i Hercegovini od 2008. do 2016. godine ukazuju na razmjerno brzo širenje ovog štetnika i vjerojatno lokalno povećanje populacije, što je zasigurno rezultiralo i njenom lakšom detekcijom. Nalaze se ipak treba shvatiti u kontekstu u kojem su nastali, a to su u velikoj većini bili neciljani, slučajni nalazi entomologa tijekom nekih drugih terenskih istraživanja. Radi uočljivosti i krupnoće same stjenice i činjenice da se ujesen zavlači u ljudske nastambe, nije rijetkost da se često i građanstvo pojavljuje kao „dojavljivač“ novih invazivnih vrsta. Važno je stoga ukazati na nepostojanje sustavnog praćenja pojave i širenja L. occidentalis na ovim prostorima. Uspostava ciljanog monitoringa i praćenja pojave, a posebice potencijalnog štetnog utjecaja L. occidentalis u borovim sastojinama i sjemenskim objektima u Bosni i Hercegovini, nužan su preduvjet potrajnog gospodarenja šumskim bogatstvom i kvalitetniju organizaciju i učinkovitost sustava zaštite šuma od ovog novog invazivnog štetnika.

Dans cet article, je tente de montrer que la vertu civique repose sur le souci du bien commun, sans être exclusive des intérêts personnels. À cette fin, j’examine les travaux que Shelley Burtt a consacrés à l’élaboration d’une conception privée de la vertu civique. Burtt juge cette conception privée compatible avec les prémisses réalistes de la citoyenneté contemporaine, car contrairement à la conception publique de la vertu civique héritée des Anciens (qui exige le sacrifice des intérêts personnels au nom d’un bien commun transcendant), la conception privée fonde la vertu civique dans la poursuite des intérêts personnels. Je montre que les reproches que Burtt adresse à la conception publique sont équivoques et que leur clarification ne permet pas de défendre la conception privée de la vertu. Je soutiens ensuite qu’en voulant faire l’économie du souci du bien commun, la conception privée échoue à assurer ce pour quoi elle est conçue : la stabilité des institutions libres. Je montre enfin que dans son explicitation de la conception d’esprit privé, Burtt présuppose en fait l’esprit public qu’elle cherche à écarter. Je conclus que la vertu civique est nécessairement enracinée dans l’esprit public, et propose des éléments définitionnels de la vertu civique dans ses rapports au bien commun et à la satisfaction des intérêts personnels.

Je propose de considérer que le point le plus haut de la plage intonative du locuteur montre que les deux participants du dialogue sont impliqués dans le point de vue qui est développée (ce qui se produit entre autres à la finale du «theme» ou de l'interrogation totale), alors que les niveaux inférieurs de la plage intonative signifient que le locuteur développe un point de vue qui lui est personnel et qui ne met pas en jeu une pensée autre (ceci se produit entre autres à la finale d'une assertion ou d'une injonction). Je propose aussi de considérer qu'il y a un niveau neutre de Fo, où se situent les hésitations et les incises (lorsque le locuteur juge nécessaire d'ajouter des gloses sur ce qu'il est en train d'énoncer).

U prvom desetljeću 21. stoljeća u hrvatskim nizinskim hrastovim sastojinama proveden je niz istraživanja vezanih uz integriranu zaštitu hrastove oblovine. U središtu ovih istraživanja bila je olfaktorna manipulacija domaćim vrstama iz rodova Trypodendron i Xyleborus uz uporabu naletno-barijernih klopki kompletiranih s atraktantima (lineatin, ETOH, GLV, Domowit-Trypowit D<sup>®</sup>). Tijekom ovih eksperimenata u ulovima naletno-barijernih klopi, pojavila se nova vrsta za hrastove nizinske sastojine u Hrvatskoj Xylosandrus germanus. Pojava vrste Xylosandrus germanus u ulovima naletno barijernih klopki prvi puta je zabilježena u dijelu terenskih eksperimenta (2009. godine), a ulovi u naletno-barijernim klopkamasu bili su u porastu ostatak perioda provedenih istraživanja. Tijekom 2011. godine fenologija potkornjaka drvaša nizinskih hrastovih sastojina provedena je od siječnja do početka lipnja. U ovom periodu zabilježena je i praćena fenologija šest vrsta potkornjaka drvaša, od kojih je T. signatum bio najbrojniji, a invazivna strana vrsta X. germanus je bio drugi po brojnosti tijekom ovog opažanja, iako prisutan u ulovima naletno barijernih klopki 2011 godine. Iako je ekonomski značaj X. germanus malen, ovo je vrsta koja je prisutna u Europi 65 godina. Postoje zabilježeni slučajevi iz Švicarske 1995. g. kada je X. germanus napao 20 000 m<sup>3</sup> smreke i jele u regiji Jura. S ekološkog gledišta, glavna zabrinutost je da X. germanus postaje jedan od najbrojnijih potkornjaka na područjima u kojima se etablirao, ali bez dokaza o negativnom utjecaju na autohtone vrste. Iako se smatra da X. germanus ima potencijal negativno utjecati na lokalno nestajanje autohtonih vrsta i biološku raznolikost (Henin and Versteirt 2004; Bouget and Noblecourt 2005). Istraživanja u Belgiji pokazuju da postoji preklapanje ekoloških niša X. germanus sa nekoliko autohtonih vrsta (Henin and Versteirt 2004). U Sjevernoj Americi , X. germanus je jedan od ekonomski najvažnijih negativnih čimbenika u rasadnicima. Neki autori navode da postoji izvjesna razina fiziološkog stresa koja nije uočljiva, ali stabla ipak emitiraju stresom generirane atraktivne tvari koje privlače potkornjake tijekom rojenja. X. germanus se smatra štetnikom koji napada fiziološki oslabljena stabla pod stresom, ali neka istraživanja pokazuju da napada i naizgled zdrava stabla. Prisutnost i brojnost X. germanus u Hrvatskoj još treba biti dodatno istražena, jer se ovaj polifagni štetnik uspješno razvija na velikom broju vrsta listača i četinjača. X. germanus isto može biti i vektor za određene uzročnike bolesti i najčešće se povezuje sa gljivama iz roda Fusarium, koje mogu uzrokovati odumiranje stabala, venuće i rak na napadnutim stablima. Ovakav vektorski odnos dokazan je na vrstama iz roda Juglans. X. germanus može prenositi i holandsku bolest brijesta. Zbog navedenog potrebno je daljnje praćenje i istraživanje utjecaja izrazito polifagne invazivne vrste potkornjak drvaša X. germanus na ekosustave nizinskih hrastovih sastojina.

Intravenous thrombolysis improves outcomes in acute ischemic stroke in a time-dependent fashion. As in teaching hospitals, clinical outcomes may worsen due to the arrival of new inexperienced house staff early in the academic year (July effect, JE), we evaluated the impact of the “JE” on the door-to-needle time for intravenous thrombolysis and other stroke outcomes. In this retrospective cohort study, we assessed all acute ischemic strokes treated with intravenous thrombolysis between July 2003 and June 2016. Among 101 patients, there was no detrimental July effect on the door-to-needle time, rate of thrombolysis within 60 minutes of arrival, thrombolysis of stroke mimics, post-thrombolysis intracranial hemorrhages, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, and modified Rankin Scale outcomes.

Japanese Encephalitis (JE) is the most important cause of human encephalitis in Southeast Asia, and this zoonosis is mainly transmitted from pigs to human by mosquitoes. A better understanding of the host-feeding preference of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) major vectors is crucial for identifying risk areas, defining bridge vector species and targeting adapted vector control strategies. To assess host-feeding preference of JE vectors in a rural Cambodian area where JE is known to circulate, in 2017, we implemented four sessions of mosquito trapping (March, June, September, December), during five consecutive nights, collecting four times a night (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.), and using five baited traps simultaneously, i.e., cow, chicken, pig, human, and a blank one for control. In addition, blood meals of 157 engorged females trapped at the same location were opportunistically analyzed with polymerase chain reaction (PCR), using cow, pig, human, and dog blood primers. More than 95% of the 36,709 trapped mosquitoes were potential JE vectors. These vectors were trapped in large numbers throughout the year, including during the dry season, and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Despite the apparent host-feeding preference of Culex vishnui, Cx. gelidus, and Cx. tritaenhyorhincus for cows, statistical analysis suggested that the primary target of these three mosquito species were pigs. Dog blood was detected in eight mosquitoes of the 157 tested, showing that mosquitoes also bite dogs, and suggesting that dogs may be used as proxy of the risk for human to get infected by JE virus.

The aim of this study is to investigate the thermal and flammability properties of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) biocomposites reinforced with calcium hypophosphite (CHP) and magnesium hypophosphite (MHP) impregnated jute fiber (JE). For this purpose,biocomposites were produced by adding the jute fibers (JEs), which are treated separately with 5% and 10% CHP and MHP solutions and dried, to the PLA at a constant rate (20% wt) by melt blending method. Thermal properties of the PLA biocomposites produced were evaluated by thermogravimetic analysis (TGA), also their flammability properties were investigated by using limit oxygen index (LOI), vertical (UL-94V) and horizontal burning (UL-94HB) tests. As a result of the TGA tests, it was determined that the addition of JEs impregnated with CHP and MHP, the thermal stability and char residue amount of PLA biocomposites increased, and consequently the flame retardancy of the composites were also improved. From the LOI test results, it was observed that the LOI values of PLA biocomposites increased as the percentage of hypophosphites in the JE treatment solution increased. UL-94V and UL-94HB tests indicate that PLA biocomposite reinforced with JEs treated with 10% wt CHP has the highest flame retardancy performance.

In this paper, I describe the face of modern civil justice and discuss four paradoxes which justify re-evaluating the role of the judge responsible for reviewing class action settlements, in light of modern judicial culture. I also critically evaluate the existing procedures applicable to the fairness review as well as the judicial role described in the caselaw and doctrine, before suggesting a revised, three-parted role for the reviewing judge in the class action settlement context. Ultimately, I suggest that to reach fairness of process and outcome in class action settlements, judges should remain active and creative in their inquisitorial assessment of proposed class action settlements. They should also remain conciliatory, participating in the search for solutions regarding the proposed settlement, always seeking to find the truth (and what is “just”) about the proposed settlement, in the utmost respect for the rights of absent class members, the respect of their interests, and the additional consideration of the interests of the defendants and of the public.Dans cet article, je présente l’état de la face de la justice civile moderne et je discute quatre paradoxes qui justifient une réévaluation du rôle du juge responsable de la révision et de l’approbation d’un règlement de recours collectif, à la lumière de la culture juridique moderne. Je propose aussi une évaluation critique des procédures en place s’appliquant à l’évaluation du caracters équitable de la transaction, de même que le rôle du juge décrit dans la jurisprudence et la doctrine, avant de suggérer un rôle révisé. Ce rôle modifié se décline en trois parties. Finalement, je suggère que pour atteindre l’équité de procédure et de résultat dans le cas de règlements en recours collectif, les juges devraient demeurer actifs et créatifs en enquêtant pour évaluer des règlements proposés dans les cas de recours collectifs. Ils et elles devraient aussi demeurer conciliants, participer à la recherche de solutions ayant rapport au règlement proposé, s’efforçant toujours d’en arriver à la vérité (et à ce qui est «juste») à propos du règlement proposé, dans le plus grand respect des droits des membres absents au recours collectif, le respect de leurs intérêts, et la considération additionnelle des intérêts des défendeurs et du public.

Abstract. I show that the strong electoral success of the Liberal party in Canada stems in great part from the strong support of Catholics and Canadians of non-European origin. In the absence of the fervent backing it enjoys among these two groups, the Liberals would not be among the most successful democratic parties in the world. Yet, we do not have a good understanding of why Catholics and non-Europeans vote Liberal. I argue that the group bases of Liberal support should lead us to question the common interpretation that the party's centrist policy position is the key to its electoral success.Résumé. Je montre que le succès électoral du Parti libéral fédéral au Canada découle en bonne partie de l'appui des catholiques et des citoyens d'origine non européenne. Sans l'appui solide de ces deux groupes, le Parti libéral n'aurait pas remporté les succès électoraux remarquables qu'il a connus. Pourtant, nous n'avons toujours pas d'explication satisfaisante des raisons qui amènent les catholiques et les citoyens d'origine non européenne à voter pour le Parti libéral. Je soutiens que ces tendances sociologiques lourdes devraient nous inciter à remettre en question l'interprétation habituelle selon laquelle les succès libéraux sont attribuables aux positions centristes du parti.

Le distingué directeur de cette revue— à qui l'on me permettra de rendre hommage pour son éminente contribution, durant quelque trente-cinq années d'un labeur important et fructueux, à une meilleure compréhension des relations de travail dans notre société— m'a invité à laisser un instant mon rôle de juge pour tenter de me rapprocher de celui de « savant », me faisant ainsi un honneur auquel j'aurais mauvaise grâce d'être insensible. Mon premier réflexe était de refuser cette aimable invitation, non pas par modestie ou timidité, mais par crainte des procès d'intention ou autres interprétations ou reproches que pourrait susciter un tel écart de conduite. Pour un juge, la façon normale, sinon la seule, de communiquer avec le monde extérieur n 'est-elle pas la délivrance et la publication de ses jugements? Et les juges du travail n'ont-ils pas mieux à faire qu'à prétendre faire oeuvre scientifique et concurrence aux docteurs du savoir? Chacun son métier, et les vaches n 'en seront que mieux gardées! Pensez, monsieur le juge, aux retards de la justice: que vos jugements courts et vite rendus! Le monde n 'a que faire de vos discours ou dissertations, non plus que de vos inutiles digressions, si justement fustigées sous le vocable d'obiter dictum, qui dérangent la belle ordonnance de la chose jugée et son confort juridique. Et pourtant... S'agit-il, comme l'on m'y invite si aimablement, de « contribuer à faire avancer la science »?— Peut-être bien en définitive, et tant mieux s'il peut en être ainsi. Je me garderai bien, toutefois, d'en avoir la prétention. Mon propos est plus modeste. J'ai accepté cette invitation dans l'espoir d'amorcer ou de renouer un dialogue. Car, dans le domaine des relations du travail tout particulièrement, le dialogue m'apparaît une impérieuse nécessité. Je n 'ai jamais pensé que nos jugements devaient avoir le caractère de vérités absolues ou définitives. Leur autorité est bien relative, non seulement dans les cas d'espèce qu 'ils ont pour première fonction de trancher à l'égard des seules parties en cause, mais surtout dans leur dimension plus générale où ils ne sont que des jalons de recherche vers une meilleure justice et une meilleure compréhension de la réalité vécue. La réalité des relations du travail dépasse largement le cadre judiciaire, même si ce que l'on appelle droit du travail doit y correspondre le plus possible, non seulement en tant que reflet et aboutissement, mais aussi en tant que dynamique d'évolution. C'est pourquoi il m'apparaît essentiel que les acteurs principaux des relations du travail, le patronat et les syndicats, participent à cette dynamique, non seulement en tant que plaideurs ou justiciables, mais aussi comme citoyens, et qu'à ce titre ils prennent part à la réflexion et à la discussion que l'élaboration des politiques administratives ou jurisprudentielles devrait normalement susciter, une part entièrement et « responsablement » assumée. La critique des arrêts, dont il y a lieu de déplorer la pauvreté, voire même l'absence, devrait être un élément particulièrement fécond de ce nécessaire dialogue; et je ne pense pas à la seule critique juridique. C'est dans cet esprit, esprit de recherche, esprit d'ouverture à la critique et au dialogue, non seulement avec les « savants », mais aussi et surtout avec les « acteurs » des relations de travail, que je présente ici, extraites d'un jugement que je commettais le 13 mars 1980 dans une affaire concernant l'INSTITUT DE RÉADAPTATION DE MONTRÉAL, certaines réflexions sur la détermination des unités de négociation. Cette année marque le dixième anniversaire du Tribunal du travail et, l'an dernier, le département des relations industrielles de l'Université Laval soulignait, par son colloque annuel, le quinzième anniversaire de notre Code du travail. Cela pourrait suffire à justifier, pour tous les navigateurs en perpétuel mouvement sur la mer agitée des relations de travail, la nécessité défaire le point. Qu 'en est-il, notamment, de la question fondamentale qu'est la détermination des unités de négociation à l'aube du cinquantenaire du Wagner Act? Quel est le chemin parcouru? L’actualité des dernières années a mis en lumière le comportement problématique de plusieurs juges envers des victimes de violences sexuelles, minant leur confiance et celle du public envers le système judiciaire. Parmi certains des cas plus médiatisés, on compte celui du juge Robin Camp qui avait demandé à une victime : « why couldn’t you just keep your knees together? ». Voilà qui a eu pour effet de mettre le projecteur sur une frange de la magistrature qui croit encore au mythe de la « bonne victime » (ou la « victime parfaite »). Dans ce texte, je soutiendrai qu’un ou une juge commet une faute déontologique lorsqu’il ou elle tient un propos (1) prompt à entretenir le mythe de la bonne victime, (2) qui participe d’un des quatre stéréotypes afférents condamnés en droit et (3) qui n’est pas justifié par sa pertinence et sa nécessité pour le raisonnement juridique. L’article se divise en trois parties. Dans la Partie 1, je détaille d’abord brièvement les stéréotypes visés par ma proposition. Celle-ci se limite aux quatre stéréotypes fondant le mythe de la bonne victime qui ont été condamnés en droit, c’est-à-dire qui constitueraient une erreur de droit s’ils fondaient un raisonnement juridique. Selon ces quatre stéréotypes, (i) une femme sexuellement active est plus encline à consentir et serait moins crédible; (ii) une femme qui ne dénonce pas son agresseur immédiatement après l’agression est peu crédible; (iii) une femme qui ne résiste pas à l’agression y avait sûrement consenti; et (iv) une femme en thérapie est plus susceptible de mentir. Dans la Partie 2, j’aborde les fondements juridiques de l’obligation déontologique de ne pas entretenir ces stéréotypes tout en identifiant deux limites à cette obligation. Le commentaire n’est fautif que s’il entretient un stéréotype condamné en droit et que s’il n’est pas pertinent et nécessaire au raisonnement juridique. Dans la Partie 3, enfin, j’illustrerai ma proposition en décortiquant les motifs du juge William B. Horkins dans R. v. Ghomeshi.

Natural fiber composite materials are such an appropriate material, that replaces synthetic composite materials for many of practical applications where we need high strength and low density. Natural fiber composites combine the technological, ecological and economical aspects. This leads to discovering its vast applications in the aeronautics, automotive, marine and sporting sectors. This paper deals with the study on mechanical characterization (Tensile, Compression and Flexural) of jute/epoxy (JE) polymer composite. The flexural properties of composites are experimentally tested and are simulated in commercially available FEA software. Flexural tested results are in good agreement with FEA results. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of the failed samples reveals the matrix dominated failure.

‘Je pense donc je vote’: the confident assertion of the european Parliament's promotional campaign in France to encourage voters to participate in the 1999 European elections struck a spectacularly false note. The citizens not only of France, but of Europe as a whole, reacted with striking indifference to the prospect of the fifth direct elections to the world's only transnational parliament. In the elections held on 10-13 June, turnout fell in all but three of the fifteen member states, averaging less than half of the eligible electorate for the first time since 1979. Except in the two countries holding general elections on the same day – Belgium and Luxembourg – media coverage of the contest was distinctly muted. Even in those countries, the European component was secondary. Across the European Union, there was little sense of key choices being defined, let alone settled, by the election, whether on a national or continental scale. If political elites were engaged in trials of strength which they were unable to avoid, there was scant evidence of campaigning on the ground. In David Butler's memorable phrase, the European elections of 1999, as before, resembled ‘tactical exercises without troops’: army generals were active at the centre, conducting a theoretical, phoney war of interest largely to themselves.

Dans cet article, je décris comment le Juge en chef McEachern de la Cour suprême de la Colombie Britannique répondait à un témoin gitksan, Gwaans, lorsqu'elle présentait son adaawk comme preuve de l'organisation sociale Gitksan et de leur propriété sur les terres. La cour fut incapable d'entendre ni d'accepter l'adaawk tel que présenté—une institution juridique et politique plutôt qu'un simple artefact culturel ou le rapport d'une histoire chronologique. Les formes d'expression, le symbolisme et les liens entre les mondes des esprits, des humains et des animaux dépassaient la compréhension du juge. Est-ce que lors de litiges futures le adaawk sera traité différemment? L'article aborde un ensemble de questions inquiétantes, notamment le fait que le pouvoir judiciaire (1) adopte une approche réductionniste face au adaawk et (2) évalue l'adaawk selon les règles de la cour plutôt que celles propres au adaawk.

Abstract. In 1998, Tom Pocklington's presidential address examined what he believed was a progressive displacement of teaching by research in Canadian political science departments. The purpose of this address is to examine Pocklington's contentions eight years on, after dramatic increases in research funds flowing to Canadian universities. As research funds become more important to the financial health of Canadian universities, we have seen the growth in Canada of what I argue is a “cult of research intensivity.” I argue that the cult has serious implications both for the research that political scientists will do, and for our teaching of undergraduate students. However, I conclude that we need to put the reverential enthusiasm for research intensivity in broader perspective, given the perennial concerns that are expressed over the imbalance between teaching and research.Résumé. En 1998, dans son message annuel, le président Tom Pocklington s'était penché sur ce qui lui apparaissait comme la substitution progressive de la recherche à l'enseignement dans les départements de science politique au Canada. Notre objectif ici est d'analyser les propos de Tom Pocklington quelque huit ans plus tard, à la suite des hausses impressionnantes des fonds de recherche versés aux universités canadiennes. À mesure que les subventions de recherche prennent de plus en plus d'importance pour la santé financière des universités canadiennes, nous voyons dans ce pays l'expansion de ce que j'appellerais le “ culte de la prédominance de la recherche ”. Après une brève description des faits, je propose une structure sous-jacente pour ces constructions et une analyse des propriétés reférentielles des N que ces adjectifs quantifient : N de masse, N collectifs, N d’Espèces au singulier et quelquefois au pluriel avec certains adjectifs quantificateurs seulement, mais jamais des Individualités. Sont aussi abordées les restrictions sur la modification et les restrictions aspectuelles qu’elles manifestent. J’en viens à la conclusion que la microvariation observée est minime. Elle est le résultat d’une interaction entre les propriétés lexicales de ces adjectifs de dimension et les principes de la Grammaire universelle.

Background: Acute encephalitis is the clinical diagnosis of children with acute onset of symptoms and signs of inflammatory lesions in the brain. It must be diagnosed promptly for saving life and preserving brain functions.Authors objectives was to determine the profile and outcome of children admitted with Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and to identify etiological factors.Methods: Study consist of a retrospective analysis of hospital records of children up to 15 years of age admitted with a diagnosis of AES in the pediatric ward, Narayana medical college, Nellore from January 2018 to June 2019.Results: In a total of 30 patients of AES, clinical features like fever (100%), altered sensorium (100%), convulsion (40%), headache (45%) and neuro deficit (40%) and vomiting (50%). The average Glasgow coma scale at admission was 8. There are 55% of cases in the 5 to15 yr age group (p>0.05). Both Encephalitis (56.6%) and meningitis (43.3%) were documented significantly more in males as compared to females (p<0.01). Twenty-one cases are discharged, eight expired, and 1 case was referred (p<0.001). JE IgM positive cases contributed to 36.6%, of which eight males and three females recorded between 5-15 years. Male children are more likely to play outdoors where the mosquito vector of the disease is abundant.Conclusions: JE has significant morbidity and mortality, can be prevented by immunization, and reduced if supportive interventions are provided in time. Preventive measures must be taken for 5-15 years of age group those playing outdoors, going to school or agriculture fields predisposing them to vector mosquito bite.

Cette fantaisie qui devrait nous laisser entrevoir un peu de la vie des vivants d' alors, qui leur conserverait un peu de chair et de couleurs, on la trouvera plus facilement dans les textes pro- prement littéraires, "séances" (maqâmât), recueils d' anecdotes, contes, poésies. Certes, des récits merveilleux ( 'aga 'ib wa-àarâ' ib) agrémentent parfois les chroniques. Est-ce par souci de légèreté, de respiration dans un texte au demeu- rant très monotone, jusque dans ses prétentions littéraires - je pense ici aux exer- cices de virtuosité stylistique, comme l'emploi de la prose scandée (saà'), ou au jeu des références en tout genre, coraniques, poétiques, proverbiales, etc. ? Il est permis d'en douter. Car ces récits, même s'ils paraissent échapper à la trame du discours, obéissent néanmoins à son projet global, qui est de rendre compte d'un savoir entendu comme une somme d'informations (gumla min al-a&bâr), l'am- pleur de la collection rassemblée tenant lieu, bien souvent, de véritable connais- sance. Skrzypłocze (Xiphosura) są jednymi z najdziwniejszych istot w królestwie zwierząt. Grupa ta, współcześnie obejmująca cztery reliktowe gatunki, przetrwała właściwie niezmieniona od ordowiku (480 milionów lat), i była świadkiem masowych wymierań, stąd powszechnie używana jest jako przykład „żywych skamieniałości” lub „stabilomorfów”. Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest opisowi nowych i doskonale zachowanych skamieniałości skrzypłoczy z górnej jury (tyton) kamieniołomu Owadów-Brzezinki, który jest jednym z najważniejszych stanowisk paleontologicznych opisanych w ostatnim czasie w Polsce. Kamieniołom ten znany jest z wyjątkowo dobrze zachowanych skamieniałości organizmów morskich i lądowych. Odkrycie licznych okazów młodocianych skrzypłoczy w kamieniołomie Owadów-Brzezinki stanowi istotny wkład w badania nad paleobiologią tych stawonogów oraz paleoekologią ich środowiska życia. Praca ta podsumowuje ostatnie badania nad tymi unikatowymi skamieniałościami i tym, jaki wkład badania te wnoszą w lepsze poznanie tej grupy zwierząt. Szczegółowe oględziny doskonale zachowanych egzoszkieletów tych skrzypłoczy, a także analiza osadu, w którym je znaleziono, pozwoliły na stworzenie scenariusza paleośrodowiskowego, według którego najbardziej prawdopodobną przyczyną epizodu masowej śmiertelności skrzypłoczy była infekcja glonowa.

Ses premiers poèmes publiés sont salués par Roland Barthes, Michel Foucault, Jude Stéfan, Jacques Réda, Louis-René des Forêts, Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe, Jean-Luc Nancy. Ses poèmes ont été rassemblés aux éditions Flammarion: Le plus réel est ce hasard, et ce feu (1997); 'Défends-toi, Beauté violente!' (2007); Je ne voudrais rien qui mente, dans un livre (2010). Un volume d'Écrits sur la poésie a paru aux mêmes éditions en 2016. Un colloque a été consacré à son travail à Cerisy-la-Salle en juillet 2016, sous la direction de Michael Bishop et Matthieu Gosztola: Jean-Paul Michel, la surprise de ce qui est. Les Actes paraîtront dans la collection Cerisy/Littérature, Classiques Garnier, en décembre 2018. Jean-Paul Michel est le créateur des Éditions William Blake and Co., à Bordeaux, en 1975. Il entretient de 2000 à 2016 d'étroites relations de travail et d'amitié avec Yves Bonnefoy, dont il a publié une dizaine de volumes. Cette étude s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une thèse en sciences de l’éducation soutenue en 2018 à l’Université de Montpellier, en France. De nombreuses études mettent en évidence le traitement différencié à l’œuvre dans l’espace scolaire lorsque les élèves filles ou les élèves garçons transgressent les règles. Mais nous sommes nous collectivement interrogés sur les arguments mis en avant pour justifier ces comportements, pour leur donner une explication? Enseignants comme élèves se confortent dans des justifications conformes aux représentations sociales. Les élèves garçons transgresseraient par immaturité, par envie de « faire l’intéressant » auprès des pairs ou encore par manque de contrôle de leurs émotions, comme la colère. En revanche, et pour une même transgression, les interviewés expliquent les écarts de comportements des élèves filles par des réactions de défense (et non d’attaque), des problématiques personnelles – auxquelles elles seraient soumises – et un manque cruel de modération dans leurs réactions. On juge les garçons responsables mais également soumis à leur nature, on considère les filles victimes des situations de transgressions en les dé-responsabilisant de leurs actes. À partir d’un échantillon de 500 élèves et 29 enseignants, de la maternelle au lycée, c’est à travers une enquête en partie qualitative (entretiens et observations) que je propose d’interroger et de penser la transgression scolaire au prisme d’un mécanisme qui s’entretient continuellement, et qui montre comment la transgression est un analyseur du genre scolaire.

Abstract Habitatbäume sind eine Schlüsselkomponente der Waldbiodiversität. Seit rund 20 Jahren ist die Bedeutung von Baummikrohabitaten (BMH) als Lebensraum für Tausende teils hochspezialisierte Arten bekannt, und BMH finden zunehmend Eingang ins Waldmonitoring. Mit der Einführung der ersten europäischen Typologie der BMH verfügen das Schweizerische Landesforstinventar (LFI) und die Inventur im Buchenurwald Uholka-Schyrokyj Luh in der Ukraine als erste Grossrauminventuren über repräsentative Referenzdaten. Auch wenn die Reproduzierbarkeit bei einigen BMH-Typen eher schlecht ist, sind nach drei Erhebungsjahren des fünften LFI doch erste aufschlussreiche Vergleiche möglich. Im Schweizer Wald weisen 60% der stehenden lebenden Bäume ab 12 cm Brusthöhendurchmesser mindestens ein BMH auf. Am häufigsten in Stück pro Hektare sind solche mit Flechtenbewuchs (73), Moosbewuchs (67), Stammfusshöhlen (53), Kronentotholz (47) und Harzfluss (37), selten jene mit tiefen Mulmhöhlen (4), Spalten (1), Spechtbruthöhlen (1) und Pilzfruchtkörpern (1). Am geringsten ist die Anzahl BMH-Typen an Tannen (0.6), am grössten an Arven (1.6), Eichen (1.4) und Kastanien (1.3). Generell nimmt die Anzahl verschiedener BMH-Typen mit zunehmendem Baumdurchmesser zu. Die BMH-Dichte variiert je nach Waldfunktion, Waldeigentum, letzter Nutzung, Höhenlage und Geländeneigung. Die tiefen Werte im Mittelland und im östlichen Jura könnten Handlungsbedarf indizieren. Die BMH-Dichte an lebenden Bäumen ist im Schweizer Buchenwald gleich gross wie im Buchenurwald Uholka-Schyrokyj Luh. Allerdings sind tiefe Baumhöhlen, Rindentaschen, Kronentotholz und mehrjährige Pilzfruchtkörper im Buchenurwald häufiger, im Buchenwald dagegen Dendrotelme, Moos- und Efeubewuchs. Der wohl wichtigste ökologische Unterschied liegt im Totholzvolumen, das im Buchenurwald insgesamt fast dreimal so hoch ist wie im Buchenwald, bei den Dürrständern sogar fast sechsmal so hoch.

SOMMAIRE Aménagement linguistique, idéologie et loi constitutionnelle: L'éducation des minorités francophones au Canada Ce texte présente les changements constitutionnels et idéologiques qui ont eu lieu à l'égard de l'éducation des minorités francophones du Canada avant et après 1982. Cette date pivotale est marquée par la promulgation de l'article 23 de la Charte canadienne des droits et libertés. Les services éducatifs fournis aux francophones minoritaires ont évolué d'une relative autonomie préconfédérendaire (avant 1867) à de nombreuses pressions assimilationnistes (jusque dans les années 1960). Ce n'est que lorsque l'idéologie "dualiste" s'est incarnée dans la philosophie étatique fédérale que les francophones minoritaires ont acquis des droits scolaires substantiels. Et c'est surtout avec l'article 23 que des changements majeurs sont intervenus. Ce texte décrit chacune des étapes et analyse les courants idéologiques qui sous-tendent les changements éducatifs. Il conclut que les garanties constitutionnelles en faveur des minorités permettent à celles-ci de développer leur propre voix autonome. Mais il met également en garde puisque ces dispositions sont elles-mêmes soumises aux jeux de pouvoir qui fondent les idéologies. SummaryIn hospitals, effective and efficient communication among care providers is critical to the provision of high-quality patient care. Yet, major problems impede communications including the frequent use of interruptive and one-way communication paradigms. This is especially frustrating for frontline providers given the dynamic nature of hospital care teams in an environment that is in constant flux.We conducted a pre-post evaluation of a commercially available secured messaging mobile application on 4 hospital units at a single institution for over one year. We included care providers on these units: residents, hospitalists, fellows, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists. Utilization metrics and survey responses on clinician perceptions were collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and Mann-Whitney U test where appropriate.Between May 2013 and June 2014, 1,021 providers sent a total of 708,456 messages. About 85.5% of total threads were between two providers and the remaining were group messages. Residents and social workers/clinical resource coordinators were the largest per person users of this communication system, sending 9 (IQR 2–20) and 9 (IQR 2–22) messages per person per day, and receiving 18 (IQR 5–36) and 14 (IQR 5–29) messages per person per day, respectively (p=0.0001). More than half of the messages received by hospitalists, residents, and nurses were read within a minute. Communicating using secured messaging was found to be statistically significantly less disruptive to workflow by both nursing and physician survey respondents (p<0.001 for each comparison).Routine adoption of secured messaging improved perceived efficiency among providers on 4 hospital units. Our study suggests that a mobile application can improve communication and workflow efficiency among providers in a hospital. Je pense, écrivait Auguste Comte, qu’on ne connaît pas complètement une science tant qu’on n’en connaît pas l’histoire. N’y a-t-il pas là, sur l’intérêt de la connaissance historique, une remarque de portée très générale ? En vérité peut-on réellement comprendre et aimer un institut de recherches comme le nôtre sans s’être tant soit peu penché sur son passé ?
Cette attention à l’histoire ne présente pas qu’un simple intérêt culturel. Tirer les enseignements des succès et des échecs, comprendre le sens des évolutions, doit permettre de poser en termes plus pertinents et plus précis les problèmes d’actualité et les questions pour demain. Le rôle de l’INRA dans la prise en compte par les producteurs des critères de qualité des produits en fournit un parfait exemple.
On reproche en effet parfois à l’INRA d’avoir surtout œvré, dans le passé, pour accroître les quantités produites au détriment de "la" qualité. Cette affirmation mérite d’être confrontée aux faits. Dès les débuts des recherches zootechniques, dans les années cinquante, le généticien Paul Auriol et le technologue Germain Mocquot lanaient, dans le Jura, un programme de testage des taureaux montbéliards sur les qualités fromagères des laits de leurs filles. Ds 1951, un des tout premiers chercheurs du Centre de recherches zootechniques de Jouy-en-Josas, Bernard-Louis Dumont, publiait, dans le premier numéro des Annales de Zootechnie, une synthèse détaillée sur la tendreté de la viande et ses facteurs de variation. En 1961, Fernand Ricard publiait, dans le même Journal, les résultats d’un travail sur les qualités organoleptiques de la viande de poulet... L’observateur attentif comprendra vite que s’il y a eu prise en compte insuffisante par les filières des critères de qualité, les raisons pourraient en être recherchées ailleurs que dans les orientations de l’INRA. Il se trouvera renvoyé à des problèmes tels que celui du niveau de rémunération des efforts d’amélioration de la composition du lait consentis par les éleveurs, ou celui du manque de prédicteurs simples, in vivo, de la qualité des viandes. Or ce type de questions est toujours d’actualité. On voit donc à quel point il est important d’analyser l’évolution historique des problèmes dans leur contexte ainsi que la nature et la pertinence des réponses qui ont pu être apportées à chaque époque.
Ainsi, c’est non seulement pour commémorer, témoigner ou laisser des traces, mais aussi pour éclairer les réflexions actuelles qu’il a paru inté.ressant et utile de rassembler en un document anniversaire, des analyses historiques de l’évolution de nos travaux dans un certain nombre de domaines. Ce document n’a pas la prétention d’être exhaustif. Il présente, pour chacun des cinq départements de recherches constituant le secteur des productions animales, quelques exemples représentatifs de ses axes de recherche. Par-delà la diversité des thèmes et de leur mode de traitement, on sentira sans doute une grande communauté de pensée, liée au souci de toutes les équipes, permanent depuis les origines, de répondre aussi efficacement que possible aux objectifs de l’Institut. Ces textes mettent aussi très bien en évidence le rôle joué par les progrès - parfois décisifs - des techniques, par le hasard ou la chance, et surtout par la qualité et la ténacité des équipes. Ils sont autant de sources de réflexion stimulantes.
Je remercie très sincèrement tous ceux qui, malgré leurs charges, ont contribué à la réalisation de cet ouvrage. Il aura, j’en suis certain, une place à part dans nos bibliothèques.
