Entre 1598 y 1599, Blasina de Mendoza, monja profesa de Santa Clara de Sevilla, fue trasladada al convento de Santa Clara de Marchena (Sevilla) por la abadesa Juana Ponce de León, hermana del duque de Arcos. Blasina de Mendoza fue una notable organista, alumna de Jerónimo de Peraza I y madre del hijo de ambos, el también reputado organista Jerónimo de Peraza II. Las inclemencias del tiempo obligaron a desviar la flota a Santander donde se tuvo que improvisar su entrada, la cual careció del boato que correspondía a la cuarta esposa de Felipe II. El 3 de septiembre de 1594, los organeros Diego López y Enrique Franco firmaban las escrituras notariales por las que se concertaban con el cabildo de la catedral de Sevilla para la afinación y el mantenimiento de los órganos de esta institución por un tiempo indefinido. En este documento se incluyen las cláusulas por las que se regulaba el compromiso establecido.
