Abstract Background The CDC estimates over 1.2 million Americans are living with HIV and, of those, approximately 14% are unaware of their HIV-positive status. Since 2014, most hospitals adopted some form of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services extended Medicare coverage for annual HIV screenings. Despite these developments, there has been limited progress in expanding HIV testing in inpatient settings. The present study was conducted at Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC) in an effort to expand HIV testing by implementing EHR modification in the form of testing prompts. Methods This study began on January 1, 2016 at JCMC, a teaching hospital that passed all lab work orders through an EHR system. The number of daily orders for HIV screenings was recorded for 145 consecutive days before EHR modification (n = 145) to establish baseline data. EHR modification occurred on the 146th day of the study (May 25, 2016). This modification featured testing prompts displaying CDC guidelines for screening patients over the age of 18 for HIV whenever a physician ordered lab work for admitted patients. Orders for HIV screenings on this transitional date were excluded from analysis. After EHR modification was completed, the number of daily orders for HIV screenings was recorded for an additional 145 consecutive days (n = 145) for comparison. Testing data was available for all 145 consecutive days before and 145 consecutive days after EHR modification. Results Since the beginning of this study—before testing prompts were implemented—JCMC inpatient units ordered an average of 8.53 (SD=3.25) HIV screenings per day. The average number of daily orders for HIV screenings increased twofold after EHR modification (M=17.39, SD=4.26), t(288) = 19.90, P < .001. JCMC identified 86 HIV-positive and linked over 90% of these patients to care. Conclusion Conventional HIV screening methods in the inpatient setting might not be sufficient at detecting most HIV-positive cases. By implementing testing prompts in its EHR system to encourage increased testing for HIV, Jersey City Medical Center was able to increase the number of individuals aware of their HIV status and link them to care as needed. The prevalence of ADHD children increases every year. Some researchers have shown that psychosocial behavior therapy (antecedents-consequences modification) was effective to decrease hyperactivity and increase attention to ADHD children. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of antecedents-consequences modification by parents and teachers to decrease hyperactivity and increase attention to a 6 years old boy with ADHD. The study was a single case experimental design. Psychosocial behavior therapy has been used with antecedents-consequences modification. The antecedents-consequences modification was applied by teacher at school and parents at home. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results showed that there’s a significant decrease of hyperactivity behavior and significant increase of doing his assignment both at school and also at home. Not only about the content of behavior therapy itself, but how to give the therapy is important. Parents and teacher should do the therapy consistently, immediately, specifically and saliency to reach the target of intervention. The enthusiasm in the Tahfidz House (TH) education program especially for children shows an increasing trend in Padang, a modeling city in developing Islāmic character for children. The purpose of this study was to investigate the Tahfidz House program trends development in early childhood in Padang. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection tools, namely inter- views, direct observation, and document analysis. The results showed that: First, the Tahfidz House program attracted public interest because it offered dimensions of character formation such as in- creasing Intelligence Quotient, Emotional Quotient, and Spiritual Quotient. Second, there is a theo- logical reason in the landscape of local people to think that the Qur'an offers a blessing concept in our lives. Third, Tahfidz House existences as non-formal education has two dominant affiliations, namely pure education and based on market interests or capitalization. The 19th International Conference on Chemical Thermodynamics (ICCT-19) took place as part of THERMO International 2006, together with the 16th Symposium on Thermophysical Properties and the 61st Calorimetry Conference, from 30 July to 4 August 2006 at the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO, USA. Dr. W. M. Haynes was President of the Executive Board of THERMO International 2006, and Drs. M. Frenkel, R. D. Chirico, and J. W. Magee were the organizers of ICCT. Overall, 768 speakers submitted the abstracts of their presentations, including about 30 students and 11 exhibitors, from 62 countries (235 from North America, 341 from Europe, 76 from Japan, and 33 from China). About 65 % of the participants were from academia and 15 % from industry, with 20 % from governmental and international organizations.These individual conferences have an overlap of areas of interest, but this was the first time that they have been held jointly at the same site. This provided a unique opportunity for researchers and practitioners worldwide to meet and discuss a broad range of scientific problems in the fields of thermodynamics and thermophysical properties for a wide variety of systems, with applications in chemistry and other scientific and engineering disciplines.After the official opening ceremony, there was an invited keynote presentation by Prof. W. A. Wakeham from the University of Southampton, Southampton, UK, entitled "Thermophysical property measurements: The journey from accuracy to fitness for purpose". The Rossini Award lecture was given by Prof. A. Navrotsky on "Calorimetry of nanoparticles, surfaces, interfaces, thin films, and multilayers".The ICCT program consisted of nine symposia, some of which were held jointly with the other conferences. Battino as invited speakers.In addition, there was a workshop on the Thermodynamic Properties of Hydration (with Prof. V. Majer as invited speaker), software demonstrations, and two afternoon poster sessions, with over 400 posters. The sessions were held in the well-appointed Stadium Club, against the beautiful backdrop of the Flatirons to the west and the plains stretching across to the east. IUPAC had donated three poster prizes, a framed certificate signed by IUPAC President Brian Henry, a copy of the IUPAC "Gold Book" and a two-year subscription to Chemistry International. These were awarded to Martinez-Herrera Melchor (Mexico), Lisa Ott (USA), and Isabel Marrucho (Spain).Doctorate awards were presented by the International Association of Chemical Thermodynamics (IACT), with sponsorship from Elsevier. The four recipients were M. Fulem (Prague, Czech Republic), Y. U. Paulechka (Minsk, Belarus), E. Asabina (Nizhni Novgorod, Russian Federation), and J. Xu (Trondheim, Norway). They each received a certificate, plus a cash prize of $500, and presented their papers at the conference.All the lectures demonstrated how chemical thermodynamics is making, and will continue to make, very significant contributions to the rapidly developing interdisciplinary fields such as the life sciences, new materials, medicine and pharmacy, new energy resources, the environment, separation technologies, agriculture, green chemistry, and so on. These are all extremely important issues for scientists worldwide, and particularly for those who are in developing or economically disadvantaged countries. The opportunity for face-to-face discussion and communication with scientists from developed countries was a great benefit, which will lead to further research and improved education.The weather was most pleasant for the conference. This, together with the attractive setting of the campus, the welcoming reception, the conference banquet at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and the high standard of the presentations, made this a memorable conference. In addition, there was a full program of tours for accompanying persons, which included a visit to the mile-high city (Denver). Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN) in community environment is the prior focus of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) prevention and control, implemented through the practice of eliminating breeding sites and avoiding mosquito bites. The aimed of the study was to determine the most influence of PSN practice against the incidents of DHF. The case control study arranged at Puskesmas Kecamatan Ciracas Jakarta Timur work area, then interviewed sample from case and control group, as many as 47 people from each group. Samples of case group were DHF patients who registered at medical record of Puskesmas Ciracas in January-April 2020. While samples from control group were the closest neighborhood of every case sample with similiar characteristic by age group, sex, and house environment. Nevertheless, research respondent which will be interviewed to collect data had to more than 15 years old to prevent information bias. Positive correlation against DHF incidents proved by bivariat analysis of draining water container, using container lid, unused stuff management, using repellent, and keeping larvivorous fish. This paper conducts a descriptive cross-sectional study to determine the outpatient satisfaction with health insurance drug dispensing at the pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in 2019 through a survey questionnaire. The study results show that the outpatient satisfaction was influenced by 4 factors: reliability, assurance, empathy and tangibility, among which, reliability was the most influential one (42%). Generally, the outpatient satisfaction with the health insurance drug dispensing ranged from “Satisfied” to “Absolutely satisfied” (4.19 – 4.36). The study also shows a low level of satisfaction with drug dispensing time and some other aspects of the drug dispensing, which suggests that suitable measures should be taken by the hospital to improve its outpatient drug dispensing service. BACKGROUND: Newborn infants with birth weight less than 1500 grams defining very low birth weight (VLBW) constitute 1.2–1.5% of total live births and 15–20% of all admissions to neonatal units. Advances in antenatal care, care at delivery, and neonatal practice over the past few decades, have substantially improved outcomes in VLBW infants, and reduced neonatal mortality. METHODS: A retrospective single tertiary care center cohort study of VLBW infants with gestational age between 23–33 weeks admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah (KAMC-J) between January 1, 1994, and December 31, 2019 (26 years). The trends of survival of VLBW infants and major changes in clinical practice of premature care over a period of 26 years were evaluated. RESULTS: Over a period of 26 years, 1,247 VLBW infants were admitted to the NICU that represents 1.43% (1.25–1.83%) of total live births. 50.80% (n = 634) were male, whereas the 49.2% (n = 613) were female. Among them, 1013 (81.2%) were discharged home alive. There was a significant and progressive improvement in the survival rate of VLBW infants over a 26-year period from 66.83% in period 1 (1994 –1998) to 90.0 % in period 5 (2014 –2019), which represents a 34.67% total improvement rate. The improvement in survival rates was observed in all gestational ages between 23–33 weeks, particularly in infants weighing ≤750 grams and ≤1000 grams, and with gestational age between 23–27 weeks. Infants with a gestational age of ≤26 weeks and birth weight ≤750 grams delivered by cesarean section had a higher survival rate. Moreover, female infants with a gestational age of ≤26 weeks and birth weight ≤750 grams had a higher survival rate compared to males but not statistically significant. CONCLUSIONS: The survival rate of VLBW infants had improved significantly over the past 26 years (1994 –2019). This is attributed mainly to the improved survival of ELBW infants (<1000 grams) and gestational age of ≤26 weeks.
