Full textThe question of temporality among youth is complex, situated between many important anthropologic transformations: weakening of the symbolic mythology power from the traditional society and the modern beliefs; break-up of the time frame and radicalization of the neo-liberalism impact in the totality of the contemporary subject activities. In this context, where the subject has to get his autonomy by organizing his own time, the young people has to find his own way to be responsible of his time, a way who has to respect the rules of this neo-liberalism world as flexibility and maximization of time. Through different time experiences, some young people express the incapacity of the society to provide a time frame to the youth, a model of representation of time and a modality to tell them how to appropriate the meaning of their past, present and future, understood here as the three part of the time line. Those experiences are reveals through few risky behaviors (fast driving and ecstasy taking) and through some cultural practices (Internet, improvisation theatre, cinematographic experience, backpacking). There’s a common point here between those different behaviors. All of them share one specific aspect: they provide to the subject a way to make intimate experience of time. Those experiences replace for many young people the traditional identification of the subject to pre-existing model of time representation

Full textInformed and rational consumers, experts in marketing, teenagers represent a particular target which brings announcers to review their communication strategies. Product placement seems to have an important postion among the favorite methods to communicate with them particularly in sitcoms and videogames, important leisures in their daily. Each medium offers different experiences of which brands will attempt to take advantage of. His thesis study teenagers's responses to product placements in this two mediums, using consumption experience as frame of analysis. In this order, it uses different qualitative data collections : experts of product placement interviews, netnography, individual interviews and focus group with teenagers. Finally, product placement in sitcoms and videogames appear as an interresting mean to communicate toward the young target. If experts consider the pratice through cognitive logical, teenager brand culture as well as medium consumption experiences seems to have to be integrated in their reflexions about product placement

Full textAudiovisual media expose adolescents to the vision of sexual contents on the Internet. Within public debate, online availability of material « likely to harm » or « seriously harming » children generates forms of moral panic. A major concern derives from sexual risks, such as pornography, sexting and child-pornography. At the European political-institutional level, the measures implemented are based on auto-regulatory, co-regulatory and regulatory solutions. Among these initiatives, the most important ones have been the Safer Internet programme and two directives respectively focused on children protection with regards to Audiovisual Media Services (2010/13/UE) and on combating the sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children and child pornography (2011/92/UE). Methodologically, the thesis analyzes 45 debates of the European Parliament which dealt with these issues between 2001 and 2016. This corpus has been examined through an original quali-quantitative protocol, with a content analysis and the Alceste method applied via the softwares ATLAS.ti and IRaMuTeQ. This work wishes to contribute to research on audiovisual media, online sexual contents, adolescents and children, by proposing an original point of view on European policy. The main hypothesis has been that European parliamentary debates are limited in terms of representativeness of national cultures; starting from this premise, several aspects have been surveyed, either juridical, scientific, ethical and political issues. The main results respectively refer to different elements: 1. the variety of political-juridical interpretations of some concepts and the definitions of a few terms, besides the study of some juridical principles involved (fourth chapter); 2. the descriptions of online audiovisual sexual risks and the difficulties of European policy retrieved within parliamentary debates (fifth chapter); 3. the limits of European scientific knowledge in terms of representativeness of national culture, through the analysis of mentioned statistical data and studies (sixth chapter); 4. the multiplicity of ethical considerations, even based on different national cultures (seventh chapter); 5. the choice to favor self-regulatory measures (eight chapter)

Full textThis thesis proposes a sociohistorical analysis of gender representations in French animated television series. In analysing the programming strategy of television networks and the adaptation and rerun phenomena, the research reveals a structural tension between standardisation and innovation, as well as backlash effects. Indeed, these programs have generally conveyed a binary and essentialist conception of gender, minimizing female characters and confining them to secondary and caretaking roles. Nonetheless, following contemporary social changes, some productions have begun to challenge gender norms. 56 programs broadcast between 1957 and 2014 have been selected for this qualitative analysis. In 2015-2016, 11 comprehensive interviews were conducted with professionals as well as a fieldwork on the association Les Femmes s’Animent (the French counterpart of Women in Animation). This new angle helps to understand how the issue of gender inequalities is perceived by different professionals in the French animation industry (such as writers, producers, animators and television networks). While some of them try to fight against gender stereotypes, organisational and economic constraints as well as social norms related to child protection continue to impact the production of animated series

Full textYoung people are considered by the public authorities as a population who is particularly affected by at-risk behaviors, but also as a difficult audience to reach with preventive messages. Several reasons can explain why young people turn away this logic of prevention. Firstly, they think that their health capital is inexhaustible. Secondly, they feel that prevention issues do not concern them. Faced to these difficulties and these obstacles, some new initiatives are recently appeared and try to transmit preventive messages by associating the receiver in the construction of the message. This study aims to understand what are truly these new initiatives of co-construction’ messages. Special attention is paid to how co-constructed messages work, to characterize this phenomenon and to know how the co-constrction contributes to the understanding of the meaning by the receiver. It takes two approaches. The first one is theorical and is based on the analysis of the literature that deals with young people, youth health, transformations of journalism and the relationship between young people and the media. The second one is empirical and is based on the study of three examples:Teen magazines, Prév’en ville in Rennes and the “Bureau de la vie étudiante de l’IUT de Lannion”. At the heart of this dual approach, different forms of co-construction’ messages appear with their logics, their tensions and their contradictions, but always with their singularity: respecting the receiver and encourage the expression of the receiver’s culture

Full textWith the constant technological changes offering permanent access to world-wide communication, marshall mac luhan's global village has now become real. Within this universe, the media pours an endless flow of information. Television now ranks first in the social and cultural fields, whether we like it or not; young people are the first concerned by this phenomenon and by the media "habitus" it creates. If television which has already invaded the classroom is to promote a real education to the media, it seems important to examine teacher training in this field. Starting from an analysis of mental representations of teachers about television and young people, we wish to understand theirs fears and reticence concerning the 21st century. Having to work with and on television in the classroom still remains a stumbling block for a large number. School is compulsory for young people between six and sixteen: the best opportunity to give a large majority of them keys to decode images, lies there. This is only possible if teachers are trained. This is why this study focuses mainly on the educational system and teacher training in particular. Tomorrow what school will be like in france? for which society? as in all research work, questions established values deeply rooted in people's minds. Only joint efforts of works will result in the setting up of a global policy which this area requires

Full textThe massive and recent diffusion of mobile phone and internet have given to high-school students (11-15 years old) new ways to communicate. Unlike the family telephone, these new means of communication are individual and mobile and they might contribute to give them a new and significant autonomy. The objective of this thesis is to analyse their role in the socialization process of young adolescents. The first chapter of this thesis presents the issue with respect to the litterature and presents the tools as potential ressources for the claim of the status of "old" in the family. Chapter 2 analyses how the young high-school student negociates his teenager status in the family, through the acquisition and usage of these means of communication. Chapter 3 examines the dynamics with the peers, and among others, the construction of norms. At last, Chapter 4 details the role of mobile phone and internet in the building of gender and gender relationship. The results are based on 54 individual interviews with teenagers and 22 interviews with members of their family. We also conducted a quantitative survey with 435 students of a French college

Full textThis thesis is about sociological and technical devices of communication. From the observation of mediatics practices from teenagers, and more specifically their enunciatives productions on two different devices, represented by blogs and newspapers produced at school, the comparison of language materiality enabled us to approach this corpus of utterances with a scientific process. The theme of love was retained as the more unifying to rally both devices and take an interest about teenagers’ productions. Our analyze made up some convergence points between these devices, reflecting the existence of discursive practices specific to teenagers, but it also rose some differences in terms of discursive conditions, enabling to approach the communicative specific practices related to each situation, according to the constrains and possibilities offered by each device. The first part of analyze was dealing with speeches in terms of thematic and genre to see which kind was privileged on which device. The second part of analyze is more centered on enunciative specificities, by the analyze of acting configurations and enunciatives modalities. Thus, the newspaper is a device under institutional context, inspired by traditional models but also by awill of originality and a community dimension in order to strengthening ties between scholar collectivity. Blogs is a more opened space, giving the freedom of publication and privileging more individual discourses, more interactive, and more centered on blogger’s self-experience. Between semi-public and semi-private expression, the blog, as a personal space, helps identity and personal construction of teenagers. To conclude, our work highlights efficient practices of writing and reading from teenagers, more or less distant from traditional and scholar model, but which proves their willingness of expressing and spreading their discourses

Full textHip-hop graffiti is a study object which mixes urban, art, youth and right sociologies. Concerning this object, representations diverge, between art and vandalism. The assumption is that, in terms of the criteria used to authenticate the value of a graffiti, transgressive approach of the author is as important as its pictorial qualities. There would be a dialogic relationship between “artistic” practices and “vandal” practices. The first part of this thesis explains how teenagers enter the graffiti movement and its standards. This practice is widespread in various social worlds and it palliates failure of integration mechanisms. Graffiti also expresses a rejection of social assignment. Infringment become a way to conquer a place, on walls as in society. Deviance is always risky, graffitists are labeled as being. The second part of this work focuses on the relationship between graffiti and the “feeling of insecurity”. To solve problems, three verbs describe the ordinary repression of graffiti and its actors: punish, discredit and erase. These devices tend to reinforce graffitists in their commitments. The third part shows the links between the worlds of art and graffiti, from the inclusion of graffitists in cultural mediation to their professionalization. Independence, experience and transgression keep invoked as authentication of “artistic” value of graffiti

Full textIn this work I aim at understanding the broad consensus on the topos of “the loss of religious knowledge among French teenagers”. The research begins with an historical study on this topos. Then, I discuss the issue of the modality of construction, among French and German teenagers, of a "stock of knowledge" about religion. Thanks to a qualitative and quantitative study conducted by means of phenomenological oriented sociology, I have studied the individual knowledge on five different religions : Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism. This research brings to light that informal knowledge (medium, peers group) plays a more effective role than formal knowledge (school, family) in the teenagers contructed ideas about religion, and that this phenomenon works for French teenagers as well as for the Germans. Further, this work reveals the importance of a situation of religious plurality for the acquisition of knowledge about religion. Lastly, I have tried to understand the phenomenon of exculturation (the dissociation of the French and German mainstream culture from Christianity) with the help of the concept of popularization (dissolution of the boundaries between religiously marked and unmarked communication)

Full textFrom the early organisations of the roman youth, only the "juventutes" survived. It was originally the army of rome, and, after the reform of servius tullius, turned into a paramilitary organism, and then, a premilitary one; when conquering the occident, the romans found similar organisations along their way. By lack of activity, most of them became dormant, except for the latest conquested ones. However, they did not disappear, and showed great activity during the empire. The "juventutes" still existed, but when they declined, non official associations appeared. The "collegia juvenum", although few in number, and only italian, are the most well known. The provincial "juventutes" subdivided themselves into "collegia juventutis". Their main activity is the celebration of religious cults in italy and the participation to the defense of the empire in the provinces. The games organisation is only a very limited activity done by some italian associations. They don't fill the office of staff schools at all. They have no political role, except in case of revolts. The christianisation of the empire lead them to death. They disappeared under theodose, at the split of the empire

Full textThe arab military defeat of 1967 resulted in the emergence of a new type of children's literature in the arab world. The subject-matter of this literature is more topical, the sources more diversified, the themes more appealing, the form more modern, the substance richer. Hense the need for us to analyse its specific features. This investigation has made us aware of the necessity of throwing into relief the social conditions, the psycho-educational and aesthetic aspects which contribute to weaving a relation between discourse and society, author and child. The study of sources and themes has led us to identify the historical influences: the impact of islam, that of the nationalist ideologies and the values they propound as well as the social imperatives. Our research confirms the following hypothesis: children's literature is a literature made-to-measure. It further shows a discrepancy, a "lopsidedness" between the author's intention and the child's response. In order to circumvent censorship, the writer resorts to fantasy, to a symbolic bestiary or to an antropomorphic presentation of nature. As a conclusion we can venture the following exploration: besides its more overt and numerous objectives, arabic children's literature has been produced essentially for the purpose of giving a convenient alibi to authors. They entrust their readers with a mission which they, adults, have been unable to fulfil : i. E. Building up a great motherland and a new modern democratic arab society

First of all, mrs liao shows that television has became a massmedia because 800 millions people watch in spite of a real mediocity of its programs. As to the radio, this media is both very common and regionalised and it has been the main factor of the unification of china. Concerning the written press, it has to face the concurence of foreign papers because it has definitively lost. Its image, being a plain propaganda instrument for the c. C. P. Concerning taiwan, hong kong, macao and singapore ad all the chinese media in the other parts of the world, mrs liao writes an analysis which consists a very pragmatic description of quantitative and qualitative factors as : number of titles, number of readers, audience, explained opinions, maintenance of lectorate, radio and television programs. . . In the second part of her thesis of doctorate, mrs liao delivers us an approach of the history of chinese media. She peculiazly shows that chinese papers have been existing since ancient times but began in fact to european like at the end of the 19th century. At the end of the second part we have the description of the characteristics of marxist media after 1949, and of the consequences of the opening of china to occidental countries in 1978. At least in the third part, are described the various problems the chines media have to face today. At the same time mrs liao insists on the political and cultural specificities of all media in contiental china

Full textThis study offers an analysis of the public systems of protection of youth from the media and of their evolutions, in France, from 1949 to 2002. Il thus contributes to the analyses of censorship and gives an account of the conditions of definition and transformation of the methods of the symbolic interventionism of the State. Two systems are specifically studied: the law of July 16" 1949, on publications for children and adolescents, and the television "signalétique" implemented by the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel (CSA) and the national channels since November 1996. The main argument here is the euphemisation of censorship, resulting from evolutions specific to the social configurations in which the control is conceived and implemented. Therefore, the logics of the evolution are linked to the political, social, economic and institutional contexts of the control. This argument is based on the use of written materials, interviews and an ethnographic observation

Full textThis thesis analyzes what remains constant and what changes in the image of Syria in the French media between the 18th century and the year 2000. This image divides in two: on the one hand, a mythic “imaginary” in literature and, on the other, a mediatized image in the print and visual press. The so-called mediatized image centers on a repressive representation of Syria under French mandate in L'Humanite and Le Figaro in 1939, date at which the sandjak of Alexandrette ceased in Turkey. Then the thesis traces the evolution of this image through the study of the cultural image of Syria in the newspaper Le Monde between 1987 and 1999. The end point of my work on the mediatized image consists of a study of the visual image or Syria on the channel Arte between 1996 and 2000. To conclude this thesis, I study the literary mythic image of Syria and the Arab world in Volney, “Voyage en Syrie et en Egypte,” Maupassant in “Allouma” and Le Clezio in “Poisson d'Or. ”

Full textThe aim of this study is to determine the characteristics of the arab stereotype in the american media and its development since the creation of the state of israel in particular. The negative image of the arab world is presented here as the inheritance of orientalism and european colonialism combined with a historical context. The arab-israeli conflict and the oil embargo have brought about a series of "misunderstandings" that strenghened the old fear of islam. The technological advance and the reign of the elctronic era have promoted the propagation of the myth of the orient and enforced an erroneous aspect of the arab civilization and history. Beyond the fixed stage of categorization and prevailing ideology, a new journalism and an awakening of the american public opinion in relation to the american policy towards the middle east have emerged since the 1970, s. This new approach is linked to a better understanding of economic and cultural interdependence between the arab nations and the united states, and to the work of a better organized arab lobby eager to cope with its jewish counterpart. The arab governments and the arab americans have set up a solid organizational structure with thye object of locating and demolishing the arab negative stereotype through an active policy of information on the arab world and an exhaustive use of teh american media. The economic prosperity of the arab orient has allowed a greater pressure to be exerted on the western countries. . .

The research has been done because of the small knowledge of the architectural vocabulary and the lack of understanding of the significance of architecture by most people. By working around thrée principal types of medias : text supports (books, magaznies and e-books), audiovisuals (the radio, the television and the cinema) and the interactif medias (networks, CD-Roms and interactif points) the presence of the subject "architecture " is analyzed in a vast corpus. A close look at the educational role that the medias should play is done by running an analysis of the sort and the amount of architectural knowledge that is transmitted and the advantages and inconvenients of the informationnal supports used

Full textWe tried to specify the part played by schools in the development of the patriotic feeling in the soviet union. First of all a descriptive approach made it possible to show how the school encourages this patriotism through the educational staff as well as the different teaching methods : we particularly concentrated on the teaching of history. Secondly we assessed the impact of this education on the young. We restricted our research to the seventies and the eighties including the perestroika period. We limited our research to the western parts of the ex-union. We obtained our information from the press and soviet reviews and also from textbooks, didactic books and english works on the subject. We completed our research with a survey carried out in russia (moscou) and ukrainia (kharkov) in the autumn of 1991. Some of the results we found are as follows : the schools tried to encourage patriotism by glorifying russian military heroes (before 1917) and soviet heroes, and by glorification of the "great patriotic war" (1941-1945) and of the builders of the soviet society. We also found a feeling of mistrust towards foreigners, particularly towards westerners. This patriotic feeling was instilled through numerous school and extracurricular activities in and out the educationalestablishment. We found that the prevailling patriotic feeling among the young included the different themes mentioned which led us to conclude that the education in schools was effective
Voogd, Suzanne. "L'image de l'enfant dans la littérature de jeunesse britannique contemporaine." Thesis, Toulouse 2, 2011. http://www.theses.fr/2011TOU20083.
Full textThis dissertation deals with the way in which the child is pictured in contemporary British children’s literature. This study analyses the image of the child in the following works of fiction published between 1995 and 2005 by British authors : Philip Pullman, His Dark Materials ; Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl ; Jonathan Stroud, The Amulet of Samarkand ; J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone ; Kate Thompson, The New Policeman ; Alex Shearer, The Hunted ; Hilary McKay, Saffy’s Angel ; Anthony Browne, Into the Forest ; Lauren Child, Hubert Horatio Bartle Bobton-Trent ; Oliver Jeffers, Lost and Found. The analysis of the portraits of child characters and of the representations of their environment (both spatial and temporal) enables us to create a picture of the contemporary child as British children’s authors imagine him. The image of the child in adult literature has often been examined, but its analysis in the works that are meant to be read by children offers a different perspective, which illustrates both the reality of the child as it is perceived by the writers, and the ideal child which the author would like his young reader to emulate. Theories of reception enable us to investigate the child reader who is hiding between the lines of the text and to demonstrate the increasing autonomy granted to the child in literature, be it the child character or the child reader

Full text62 non-interpreter participants and 7 interpreter participants listened to 16 different extracts of interpretations that had been initially broadcast either on TV or on the web. The participants commented and rated these recordings. Non-interpreters’ comments tend to show that the interpretation “works”, i.e. it seems to carry the speaker’s message across and does not constitute an obstacle. Comments tend to focus on form rather than content. Non-interpreters seem to pay attention to quality parameters which already feature in the literature (in particular intonation and fluidity) but also to some (supra)parameters which have rarely been studied so far: the balance between the sound levels of the original speech and its interpretation; the way the speaker is portrayed through the interpretation; and the way emotion in the source speech is conveyed in the interpretation. None of the individual parameters identified in the present study turned out to have a clear-cut, major influence on overall quality assessment. The present thesis studies not only individual quality parameters but also interactions between them. In particular, perceptions of form and content seem to be closely linked, and listeners’ trust seems to be determined by a number of both form- and content-related parameters. Some differences between the two groups of participants emerge. Interpreters seem more sensitive to wording. False errors were flagged up only by non-interpreters. Non-interpreters seem to listen to the speaker’s message first and foremost; their reactions to the interpretation itself tend to come later, if at all

Full textFluctuating along user connections, some content succeeds at capturing the attention of a large amount of users and suddenly becomes trending. Understanding trending content and its dynamics is crucial to the explanation of opinion spreading, and to the design of social marketing strategies. While previous research has mostly focused on trending content and on the network structure of individuals in social media, this work complements these studies by exploring in depth the human factors behind the generation of this content. We build upon this analysis to investigate new personalization tools helping individuals to discover interesting social media content. This work contributes to the literature on the following aspects: an in depth analysis on individuals who create trending content in social media that uncovers their distinguishing characteristics; a novel means to identify trending content by relying on the ability of special individuals who create them; a mechanism to build a recommender system to personalize trending content; and techniques to improve the quality of recommendations beyond the core theme of accuracy. Our studies underline the vital role of special users in the creation of trending content in social media. Thanks to such special users and their ``wisdom'', individuals may discover the trending content distilled to their tastes. Our work brings insights in two main research directions - trending content in social media and recommender systems
Trad, Riadh. "Découverte d'évènements par contenu visuel dans les médias sociaux." Thesis, Paris, ENST, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013ENST0030/document.
Full textThe ease of publishing content on social media sites brings to the Web an ever increasing amount of user generated content captured during, and associated with, real life events. Social media documents shared by users often reflect their personal experience of the event. Hence, an event can be seen as a set of personal and local views, recorded by different users. These event records are likely to exhibit similar facets of the event but also specific aspects. By linking different records of the same event occurrence we can enable rich search and browsing of social media events content. Specifically, linking all the occurrences of the same event would provide a general overview of the event. In this dissertation we present a content-based approach for leveraging the wealth of social media documents available on the Web for event identification and characterization. To match event occurrences in social media, we develop a new visual-based method for retrieving events in huge photocollections, typically in the context of User Generated Content. The main contributions of the thesis are the following : (1) a new visual-based method for retrieving events in photo collections, (2) a scalable and distributed framework for Nearest Neighbors Graph construction for high dimensional data, (3) a collaborative content-based filtering technique for selecting relevant social media documents for a given event

Full textYoung pre-teens attending junior high schools are going through a very delicate period: they are not just engaged in a new and more complex school career, but they are also engaged in their daily tasks of training and negotiating their identities and their roles in the different peer groups. This complex scenario is expanded by their first experiences, far from the eyes of adults, with technologies: tools that add, on the relational universe just described, an existential dimension that opens up new forms of communication mediated by digital contexts. Do technologies have an influence between on the relational dynamics that take place between students and their peers and between students and teachers? Which kind of influence? What dynamics are involved? What kind of technology is at stake? Is there a relationship of influence between the relationships mediated by the digital contexts and the social climate of a learning environment? What kind of influence? How much do students rely on digital-enriched relationships to satisfy their relationship needs? What perception do students and teachers have of relational dynamics mediated by digital contexts? And what role do they give to the school in this problem? To try to provide an answer to these questions, the research presents a phenomenology of the witness of 21 teachers and 365 boys and girls who are part of 4 schools, in two cities and in two different countries: France and Italy

Full textChildren's literature, although considered for a long time as sub-literature, has, during recent decades, become emblematic of literature of quality. Picture books, which integrate both pictures and text to make sense, are one of its distinctive features. Within this production, we have chosen the theme of Love. This theme is seen as more innovative probably because it is linked to the evolutions of society. In this context, we have based our research on a selection of thirty or so contemporary picture books representative of all the productions from 1980 to 2009. In order to identify the main features of these productions, we have used a cross- analysis reviewing the various stages of love. All these analyses show, even demonstrate, the specificities and qualities reached in this literary genre, as well as the range of the themes approached. Indeed, we have observed that the combined talents of some authors and illustrators stand out in many ways on the levels of imagination as well as originality and humour, to such a degree that certain picture books can arouse the interest of grown-ups and children alike. This talent also shows in the way the themes are adapted, taking into account the constraints and regulations linked to the supposed age of the readers. Thus, it is interesting to note that almost all the themes of literature related to love are approached and that many sources of inspiration re-appear with them, whether it is tales, legends or ancient myths

Full textThe novel for young people has evolved since the 80ies toward a rich and complex relationship between the authors and their readers, perceptible in literary works. The ambivalent functions which have defined for long the specific novel style for young people, i. E. To untertain and to educate, are questioned nowadays. The writers are anxious to get away from a too simplistic reading agreement and to commit themselves to a wider social and artistic search concerning a larger audience. Starting from the two main objectives which however persist unsaid ( and which corresponde to the srong expectations of those who publish and prescribe). The thesis studies how the authors modify the rules of this style for young through subtle compromises and determined transgressions in order to make their own voice heard. .

Full textThe multiculturalism which characterises Lebanese advertising in the written press, is a mixture of Lebanese identity (innately Arabic) with distinctive western influences. This advertising conveys symbols belonging to Lebanese culture as well as those understood worlwide. The usage is mainly French, to a lesser extent English and rather less Arabic. It therefore mirrors the multilingual capability of Lebanese citizens. In eliminating social, cultural and religious differences, it reflects an image solely of an upper class. It displays a westernised style of living as much as a Lebanese one, while showing characters and settings with specific Lebanese reference. Given the particular wording of lebanese advertisements, a dialectic is established between that language and the universal language used for publicity

Full textAssuming on the fact that the analysis of the interactions between social movements and media, however essential to the comprehension of the processes of social problems construction, was until now a peripheral object of interest, this work proposes to deal with these problems starting from the study of the relations between “low resources groups” and TV journalists. On the basis of pluri-methodological and comparative ground investigations, this dissertation proposes to question the forms of mediatic politisation or depolitization of the homeless persons, the illegals immigrants and the unemployed people causes, in the context of the neoliberal and repressive evolutions of the Welfare state. While applying from a critical point of view the framing analysis perspective, this research opens with a range of topics returning as well to the contemporary transformations of the practices of journalism or the militancy as to the effects of media information on the audience
