Abstract:
Data and information security technique is a way to keep an object confidential. eXchangable Image File Format (EXIF) Metadata is data information about digital image. In the digital forensic investigation, this is very useful for copyright security or safeguarding digital evidence. Steganography and cryptography techniques have been widely used to overcome these problem. However, from the research that has been done in terms of security EXIF of metadata digital image photography, there are still some weaknesses. Among them is the depreciation of the digital image size after decryption. Since the standard EXIF metadata treatmens released by JEIDA and CIPA have different characteristic with JFIF metadata. A null value will be deemed to be the content with a value of 1 in EXIF standard. While in JFIF metadata model, the value of null is considered to be worth 0 (zero). This is make the EXIF metadata security process is shrinking of -25,15% from the original size. With the optimizing null value before encryption, the same metadata will be obtained between original image and after decryption. The null value will be replaced with an empty string (it’s worth 1) before encryption. Results from the model obtained an average of -1,51% depreciation of the original digital image size. Therefore, this technique can optimize the digital image copyright protection. Keywords : substitution, EXIF, optimization, metadata, security, image forensic

Abstract:
Currently, natural fillers seem to be the suitable materials in polymer industry, which have emerged as a viable and abundant replacement for the relatively high-cost and non-renewable conventional fillers. However, the direct introduction of natural fillers into polymer matrix could effect negatively on some properties. Therefore, the aim of this work is to evaluate the influence of jackfruit seed flour (JFSF) (before and after compatibilization) on the tensile properties of (LDPE/JFSF) blends. Different JFSF content (5, 10, 15 and 20 wt.%) with (63-100 𝜇𝑚) particle size were prepared in this work. Twin-screw extruder at 150°C and 50rpm screw speed followed by hot-compress machine at 150°C and 10MPa pressure were used respectively to produce (LDPE/JFSF) blends. Adipic acid (AA) solution was added as a compatibilizer into all blends equally (25wt% AA into 75wt% JFSf). The changes of tensile and morphological properties were investigated. Results shown decreasing on tensile strength and elongation at break of LDPE/JFSF and LDPE/JFSF/AA as JFSF increased. In contrast, Young’s modulus increased up to 10 wt.% of JFSF and then decreased. However, the addition of Adipic acid, particularly for JFSF 5wt.% has improved the tensile properties of LDPE/JFSF blends. The SEM micrographs showed the agglomeration at high JFSF content (20 wt%) which in turn effected negatively on the tensile properties. However, the blends show homogeneous surfaces as AA added.

Abstract:
Abstract The Juan Fernandez Islands (JFI) are located in the Pacific Ocean 675 km west of the Chilean coast. This archipelago has historically been affected by large tsunamis. Robinson Crusoe Island (RCI), the main island of the JFI, was first inhabited in 1749. Since then, several tsunamis have destroyed RCI port structures and sometimes caused deaths. Ground shaking perceived by the inhabitants has preceded some tsunami arrivals. Seismological instrumentation was temporarily deployed on RCI in 1999, and a permanent station has been operating since 2014. Here, we use these data to characterize the seismic waves that arrive at the JFI and to determine whether shaking perception could be used as a tsunami early warning system. We compute peak ground accelerations (PGAs) from P, S, and T waves generated by Peruvian and Chilean earthquakes and find that the largest ground shakings are mostly related to T‐wave arrivals, which correlate with macroseismic modified Mercalli intensities lower than III. From the analysis of PGAs and macroseismic intensities, we conclude that shaking perception can be associated with large megathrust earthquakes, subduction events generated in the deep zone of seismogenic contact, and local seismicity. Unfortunately, potential tsunami earthquakes that occur on the Chilean coast will not be felt on RCI. Consequently, ground shaking in the JFI would not be a good proxy for tsunami warning, and a robust tsunami early warning system is necessary for RCI.

Abstract:
Background. Ureteral stent intolerance reduces patients’ quality of life. It has been suggested that changes in the shape of stents could decrease discomfort. In previous studies, the innovative pigtail-suture stent (i.e., JFil® or MiniJFil®) with a thin 0.3 F suture thread significantly decreased stent-related symptoms. Fortuitously, a dilation of the ureter containing the sutures was discovered. In addition, no inflammation was seen on the ureter wall around the suture in endoscopy. In this preliminary study, we assessed ureteral inflammation in the human ureter when it was healthy or when fitted with a double-pigtail stent or a thread. Materials and Methods. After consent and inclusion of patients in the protocol, fifteen segments of ureters were collected during cystectomy procedures for bladder tumors. Ureteral inflammation was assessed on the histological section stained with hematoxylin-eosin. Histological grading (cumulative range of 0 to 6) assessing inflammation was performed on the ureter section for mucosa inflammation and inflammation in the muscle layer. Results. A marked ureteral inflammatory reaction was observed in all cases of ureters fitted with a double-pigtail stent with a mean inflammation score of 4.8 ± 0.4. The ureter fitted with the thin suture thread showed inflammation in only one case with a mean inflammation score of 1.8 ± 1.3 p=0.001. Conclusion. Although the study was limited by the small number of patients, it confirmed that the double-pigtail stent induced ureteral inflammation in all cases and the thin 0.3 F suture thread caused less ureteral inflammation than the double-pigtail stent. The concept of material reduction within the urinary tract seems necessary in order to decrease mucosal irritation. The JFil® or the MiniJFil® thread could meet this requirement.

Abstract:
This article offers the first systematic analysis of cross-generational and cross-organizational aspects of jihadist foreign fighter (JFF) mobilization. How are individuals fighting in Syria different from foreign fighters who fought in the previous jihadist wars? What factors distinguish the Islamic State (IS) fighters from individuals joining other jihadist groups in Syria? The article builds an original sample of 477 JFFs from Turkey spanning three decades and employs the Random Forest technique, a method with several distinct advantages over regression analysis in the study of small N conflict data. The results have substantial and practical implications and show that fighters in Syria and IS fighters have different demographic characteristics and life experiences than fighters in pre-Syria wars and non-IS fighters in Syria, respectively. They inform more empirically grounded theory building about the recruitment motives and methods of JFFs.
