Dennys, Frenez. "Translated symbols. Indus Reminiscences in a Chlorite Artefact of the Halil Rud Civilization." Rivista di Archeologia 38 (October 7, 2015): 7–18. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5555122.

Abstract:
The paper presents an exceptional artefact of the Halil Rud or Marhashi Civilization, a stone plaque (apparently made of chlorite) carefully carved with figures originally inlaid with semiprecious materials. This sculpture is the result of a unique process of selection and transformation of some specific motifs of the Indus Civilization. The iconography includes a standing female zebu attacked on the hump by a beast of prey, while its calf suckles from below. In front of the animals stands a large pedestalled cup. The general scene, including the female zebu and the pedestalled cup, is a literal citation of the basic compositional model of the famous unicorn represented along with the so-called ritual filter on the steatite stamp seals of the Indus Civilization. On the other hand, it shows an impressive series of inversions respect to the Indus prototype, possibly due to the ‘translation’ of the original system of values by the means of local symbols.

Abstract:
Introduction: Blood-borne infections have always been concerns for the health system, as well as patients receiving blood products. In the present study, our aim was to determine the prevalence of hepatitis B (HBV) and C (HCV) virus infections in the blood units donated in Jiroft city, Kerman province, Iran, during a 5-year period (2011-2016). We also analyzed the demographic characteristics of donors. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. Records available in the blood center of Jiroft was used as the source for collecting the data required (i.e., demographic features, results of laboratory tests, etc.). SPSS software version 22 was used to analyze the data using descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage). The chi-square test was used to identify any association between categorical variables at a significant level of P < 0.05.Results: The total number of blood donors was 36 117. Hepatitis B and C frequencies were 3.3 and 0.44 per 1000, respectively. The highest infection rates were observed in 21-30-year-old donors. The prevalence of hepatitis B and C were higher among first-time, married, and male donors. Hepatitis B and C frequencies indicated a decreasing trend, reaching 2 and 0.4 per 1000 in 2016 from the initial 5.2 and 0.55 per 1000 in 2011, respectively. The results of the Chi-square statistical test showed that the difference in the number of people who had hepatitis in the period of 2011-2016 had a statistically significant decreasing trend (P < 0.001).Conclusion: The prevalence of hepatitis B and C infections in blood donors declined from 2011 to 2016. It is recommended to continue screening tests and educate donors to even lower blood-borne viral infections among Jiroft blood donors.

Rastegari, Faramarz, Enayatollah Tohidinejad, and Ghasem Mohammadi-Nejad. "Effect of drought stress on indigo and seed yield of Indigofera tinctoria ecotypes." Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 90, no. 6 (2020): 1063–67. http://dx.doi.org/10.56093/ijas.v90i6.104755.

Abstract:
The objective of the the current study was to elucidate the effect of drought stress on indigo yield and to derive certain morphological traits of indigo ecotypes. This experiment was laid out in a split-plot arranged at a randomized complete block design, with three replications in the Jiroft Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center, Kerman, Iran, during 2013-14 growing seasons. The main plot and the subplot included drought stress (100, 75, and 50% of crop water requirement) and indigo ecotypes (Jiroft, Roudbar, Rigan, and Ghale Ganj), respectively. The obtained results showed that morphological and indigo content attributes revealed significant differences between the control and the drought-stress plants. Increasing water stress (up to 50% of crop water requirement) resulted in a severe loss of leaf dry mass, plant height, and seed yield of 25, 25 and 58%, respectively, in comparison to the control condition; the highest indigo yield and content obtained from the mid-stress level. Moreover, interaction effects of drought and ecotypes on leaf dry mass, seed, and indigo yield were significant; thus, the LDM and seed yield was the greatest in the Jiroft ecotype in the control, the indigo yield was the greatest under mid-level stress, and it was the lowest in the Ghale Ganj ecotype under severe water-stress level. Therefore, the results of this research suggest that the Jiroft ecotype will perform well with respect to drought tolerance and will be useful for cultivation in the semi-arid regions of Jiroft.

Abstract:
The Jiroft valley, in southeastern Iran, was an important agricultural centre since the Early Bronze Age (3rd millennium BCE). The valley is characterized by harsh environmental settings: hot climate with poor rainfall. However, more optimal conditions may have prevailed earlier that supported ancient settlements. A 250-cm sediment core was retrieved from a peat-land at Konar Sandal, a major archaeological find attributed to Jiroft culture. The palynological data from this core was combined with geochemical and sedimentological proxies aimed at establishing the human-environment interactions in the area. The study focus was directed at vegetation history and landscape evolution, hydroclimatic changes and past human activities, that started just after the projected collapse of the Jiroft (4 ka) and extended all the way from the late Bronze Age to the Mongol invasion (0.6 ka). The results indicate that the valley was dominated by Saharo-Sindian open pseudo-savannah vegetation for the last 4000 years. However, due to anthropogenic clearance and intensified agro-pastoral activities, and also climatic factors, the land cover shifted from open xeric scrubland forests to more open, degraded landscapes. The principal human practice in these early settlements was cereal cultivation. But it is likely that during the more arid periods, communities retreated and abandoned agriculture, facilitating successional processes. Such droughts occurred in 4-3.8 ka and 3.4-2.8 ka and were supported by palynological data, C/N and Fe2O3 content. Peat formation was characteristic to the wetland during these arid periods. These droughts corresponded to drought phases detected in other studies, and were attributed to changes in Siberian Anticyclones. Dynamics of Artemisia and desert shrubs indicate milder climate around 3.8-3.4 ka and 2.8-0.6 ka. In the latter episode, during the rule of Persian Empire (ca. 550 BCE-650 CE) and Islamic epoch, the highest vegetation degradation state and most intensive human activities were observed. Some inconspicuous human practices, such as date cultivation, may have occurred on site as an adaptation to extreme environmental conditions.<br>High-resolution paleolimnological records from Lake Jazmurian: Climate-culture evolution at Jiroft in southeast Iran during the Holocene

Abstract:
<p>The size and complexity of local area and wide area networks are continually growing and so do the requirements of high availability. Today we rely on the technology and it should always work. Network management is therefore getting more and more important. Network management includes: monitoring and isolating faults, measuring performance, configuring the resources, making sure the network is secured and more. </p><p>Since in the early 1990s the management has typically been done with SNMPv1 or CMIP and using the client/server model. SNMPv1 is insecure, CMIP is complex and the traditional centralized paradigm is no longer sufficient to handle the management requirements of large networks. </p><p>As the demands for security and flexibility increases, new ways to manage networks are needed. This research tries to find out how a network management system should function, what management protocol to use, how to enhance the flexibility and how to make the system more secure.</p>

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立臺灣師範大學<br>臺灣史研究所<br>105<br>Abstract The governor-general period of Taiwan society during the Taisho Era undoubtedly begun as rules in Japan became looser, and was influenced by leftist thinking same as in Japan. However, Taiwan society was not only affected by political trends in Japan, but also by national self-determination trend that affected the entire world after WWI began. This thinking stimulated Taiwanese people’s national consciousness, and organizations such as Taiwanese Cultural Association, Farmer’s Union, unions, and the Taiwan People’s Party were gradually formed. The Taiwan Parliament also set up petitions. The Japanese ruled Taiwan according to law, and many Taiwanese intellectuals who learned Japanese rules used legal procedures to advocate their own rights. The political movements at the time had a background in national self-determination concept. Thus, conflicts with police became more intense. Although it was like this in Taiwan, the geographical location of Taiwan dictated that Taiwan must industrialize. All those who lived in Taiwan, regardless of whether they were Japanese or Taiwanese, must move towards a new industrialized society. During this period, Miyagawa Jiro, a Japanese media person in Taiwan, established the Taiwan Industries magazine. Although he was a media person, he had always studied Taiwan industries, and an expert who had studied the sugar manufacturing industry. Jiro had managed the Sugar Industry magazine for at least 14 years at that point (and will manage the magazine for at least 30 years in total), and used his experience to establish the social connections used to establish Taiwan Industries. Before Miyagawa entered the media world, he worked at the Governor’s Mansion in the Colony Production Bureau’s Agricultural Department. Thus, he had many connections in the Governor’s Mansion, which means that he had both official and civil social connections. Miyagawa advocated that residents in Taiwan must coordinate to build a harmonious society. Therefore, he organized at least 90 workshops to promote mutual understand. Miyagawa was good at using his identity as a civilian media person to engage in a survival game. When we analyzed the discussion content in the workshops, we can see Miyagawa’s media strategy and the situation in Taiwan at the time. These workshops showed us social and living aspects, such as perspective of media persons in Taiwan, the relationship between Japanese and Taiwanese, and Taiwan’s commercial environment, that official information and newspapers do not mention. Through the stories of Miyagawa Jiro and Taiwan Industries, we can determine Miyagawa’s Taiwan perspective in the 1930s. This was the difference between the harmonious society sought by Miyagawa and the realistic society.

Considers food films within the broader context of representations of food and points to a newer body of documentary and docufiction food films, as well as fictional films, that approach the intersection of food, cultural citizenship, and identity from significantly different vantage points. In many ways, these works respond to and critique the collective body of narrative food films. Films include works as diverse as Fast Food Nation (Linklater, 2006), Supersize Me (Spurlock, 2004), Food Inc. (Kenner, 2008), Jiro Dreams of Sushi (Gelb, 2011), and McFarland, USA (Caro, 2015). Unlike the other films examined throughout the book, they put food at the center of social and political debates that tend to appear in the background or are discretely ignored in other media.

Abstract:
This paper describes the development of smart trousers for self-training purposes during Covid-19, based on the requirements of two footballers from a Taiwanese University team. The two professional athletes aimed to be able to adapt their play as a result of self-training data that would be received visually from the smart trousers. The researcher collected feedback via two interviews, undertaken during the design preparation and garment fitting phases to ensure the garment design would be ready for production. The semi-structured interview technique and Kawakita Jiro method were adopted by the researcher. Firstly, the study investigated the footballer’s preferred smart trouser design in interview. Secondly, smart trousers were developed as initial garment prototypes, both virtually and physically. Thirdly, after the two athletes had been fitted with and worn the trousers for self-training purposes, the researcher issued a questionnaire and conducted a second interview to collect wearer feedback. The results showed that using both emulator data for a virtual prototype and physical garment sample in the step of prototype development has high degree of accuracy to assist pattern-making, fitting and sizing. The users’ feedback focused on three issues: pocket size, comfort of hem stitching, and label position.

Abstract:
Studies on Counterproductive Work Behaviour (CWB) have attracted wide interest among scholars. CWB is a subset of unethical behaviour that seems unbearable since it intentionally harms both organisations and people in the organisations. In general, literature holds that CWB is determined by work events and affective state. However, most studies are restricted to examining a single work event which prevents us from understanding the simultaneous effect of multiple work events. In addition, prior research widely utilised a self-reporting mechanism in capturing the affective experiences at work resulting in common method bias and other issues like time constraints, low response rate, etc. Drawing on Affective Events Theory (AET), affective work events, and CWB literature, this article provides an important extension to the CWB literature by proposing multiple work events that predict affective experiences and CWB at work. Additionally, the Kansei Engineering-Kawakita Jiro method is introduced as a substitute for the existing self-reporting mechanism in capturing affective work events. This article offers theoretical insights that may facilitate empirical research to explore the role of affective experiences within the CWB spectrum. The introduced conceptual ideas are targeted to be a useful guide for practitioners to craft appropriate strategies to combat employees’ CWB.

Abstract:
Located in the South of Iran, Jiroft Paper Mill Company requires an integrated combined heat and power plant, which can provide 50 MW of electric power and 100 ton/hr saturated steam at 13 bars, to produce paper from an adjacent eucalyptus forest. The plant is comprised of a gas turbine, air compressor, combustion chamber, and air preheater as well as a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). The design Parameters of the plant were chosen as: compressor pressure ratio (rc), compressor isentropic efficiency (ηAC), gas turbine isentropic efficiency (ηT), combustion chamber inlet temperature (T3), and turbine inlet temperature (T4). In order to optimally find the design parameters a thermoeconomic approach has been followed. An objective function representing the total cost of the plant in terms of dollar per second, was defined as the sum of the operating cost related to the fuel consumption, and the capital investment which stands for equipment purchase and maintenance costs and the cost, corresponding to the exergy destruction in various components. Subsequently, different parts of the objective function have been expressed in terms of decision variables. Finally, the optimal values of decision variables were obtained by minimizing the objective function using sequential quadratic programming (SQP). The influence of changes in the demanded power and steam on the design parameters have been also studied for 40, 50, 60, and 70 MW of net power output, and 100, 120, 150, ton/hr of saturated steam mass flow rate.

Abstract:
This research evaluates the views of 15 female and 15 male footballers on a Taiwanese University team with regard to smart shorts for self-training use during the Covid-19 pandemic. All 30 athletes reported being able to adapt their play following visual self-training in the form of data received from the smart shorts. The study gathers feedback from the participants via two semi-structured interviews undertaken at the design preparation and garment fitting stages, and employs the Kawakita Jiro method to assess the findings.Firstly, the study investigates the footballer’s preferred smart wear design via interviews. Secondly, the smart shorts are developed. Thirdly, once the 30 participants have been fitted with, and have worn the shorts for self-training purposes, a second interview is conducted to collect the wearers’ feedback. The study identifies six elements of the participants’ smart short preferences: comfort, appearance, textile functionality, practicality, design, and electronic module and app functionality. In the pre-design interview, the majority of the users focus on the functionality of the textiles to be employed. Specifically, 16.7% express views regarding textile thickness. Meanwhile, in the garment evaluation step, all the participants highlight comfort as a requirement. In both interview stages, garment fit is the least important issue, and the functionality of the textile the most important. Additionally, the females are more concerned that the design is fashionable than the males. The participants highlighted the functionality of the electronic module and the app more in the pre-design stage than during the garment evaluation phase.

Abstract:
“A technique for producing ideas” (James Webb Young,1940) has been a bible for advertising people since its publication. It says, “An idea is nothing more nor less than a new combination of old elements.''(P.15) It also says, “ An idea is a new combinations”.(P.20). But it never mentions how you can combine ideas with an excuse: “This part of the process is harder to describe in concrete terms because it goes on entirely inside your head.”(P.20) Another well known technique for idea producing is the “KJ method”(Jiro Kawakita,"Abduction”1967). It is an approach to find ideas by organizing ideas and it doesn't explain how you can produce ideas by combining elements. Now we are in an era where creation is the important drive force of economic activities in our society and creation is producing ideas. But still the process of producing ideas is in the veil. I am a film director, educator, as well as management consultant. Many of my students and clients need to find an idea with an objective such as career goal, new business idea, project idea. When I help them, I often deploy techniques I use for developing movie projects. I realized I always go through the same path with them. So I developed the “SA method” based on the path I always go through with my students or clients. I am now developing a software application based on the method.Combining two ideas is not so difficult but combining three ideas is extremely difficult. “SA method” helps people to produce ideas by combining three elements. “SA method” assumes an idea with three elements must be a “synthesis” produced by an aufheben in dialectic development with two elements. And each of three elements must be a synthesis produced in dialectic development with the rest respectively. When an idea is produced with three elements, the dialectic is revolved with the same three elements so that the idea is kneaded. “SA method” also has a process of quantifying it and describing it, which not only helps to ferment ideas in mind but also helps to select ideas at each proper timing. This selection also helps to separate the idea generation stage and the idea selection stage. According to my observation, people, who are not good at producing ideas, don’t know the importance of the separation. The SA method is a unique combination of practical and original use of dialectic development and Analytical Hierarchy processing.I conducted pilot tests with 35 undergraduate students at Utsunomiya University and 6 undergraduate students at Chuo University in November of 2021 to find their career goal using the SA method. During the trial, some people had difficulties producing 25 ideas. There may be some reasons such as not being accustomed to generating ideas and “SA method”, and 25 was an unnecessarily large number. Also they didn’t have enough time to search for information about their career development. We are now considering how to refine the methodology. Also, we have started to develop a Web based tool or PC application to work with the “SA method” visually. I would like to conduct further research projects such as comparing “SA method” with “KJ method” while refining the method.
