Abstract:

Abstract:
Zakat is an Islamic system that is very important in nurturing and developing people who need help. A proactive mechanism in identifying and reporting genuine asnaf cases is very important to contribute to an effective and efficient zakat distribution system. Asnaf tracking is a proactive process where the zakat management tries to find the asnaf before it becomes known to the public (such as spread through social media). In the flow of social media, information spreads very quickly. The dissemination of this information will give a very negative perception to the community, that the management of zakat is very weak in redistributing the zakat they collect to those who are entitled to it. It will have a bad psychological effect on zakat producers, and their trust will be low. This project examines the implementation of the asnaf tracking system that has been done manually by the Kedah State Zakat Board (LZNK) and also examines the requirements in producing a good asnaf tracking system. Then the analysis is done to produce a suitable mobile application design. The Rapid Application Development Methodology (RAD) is used to develop a mobile application called Jom Lapor Asnaf (JLA). This application has gone through the usability evaluation phase for 33 users and has successfully democratized the process of identifying and reporting asnaf. Usability test results have shown that 95.5% of users are satisfied with the overall performance of JLA. A total of 91.1% indicated that this application is ease-of-use, user-friendly, and the display is simple and attractive. 91.7% of users feel that JLA increases efforts to track and identify asnaf more efficiently and effectively. This has a great impact that using the JLA application is very beneficial to asnaf in an effort to provide various forms of assistance for the well-being of the global community.

Abstract:
This article presents first tephrochronological data on the volcanic activity in the valley of the Jom-Bolok River (East Sayan Mountains, Siberia), which is the largest manifestation of the Holocene eruptions in Central Asia. The data results from our study of the proglacial Kaskadnoe-1 Lake situated near the Jom-Bolok basalt field. The lake sediments include a series of tephra-rich layers. Radiocarbon dating of the lake sediments provided a robust age model which allowed us to build timing of eruptions formed the Jom-Bolok volcanic field. We recognize two large phases of volcanism separated by almost 5 thousand years dormant phase. The first phase is traced back to ca. 14.3 cal ka BP and lasted until 6.3 cal ka BP. Ten clusters of microtephra layers in the sediments of the first phase show 300-800 years recurrence of the volcanic events weakening upward. The event of 14.3-13.3 cal ka BP probably represents the strongest eruptions of the Jom-Bolok. The second phase started ca. 1.6 cal ka BP and highly likely continues in our days. Its strongest eruptions occurred between 1.6 and 0.8 cal ka BP with periodicity of 200 years. This tephrostratigraphy shows a multiplicity of the Jom-Bolok volcanic events and amplifies the earlier built scheme resulted from investigations of the stratified basalts, pyroclasts and lake damming events.

Full text
Abstract:
The Overhauser magnetometer is a scalar quantum magnetometer based on the dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) effect in the Earth’s magnetic field. Sensitivity is a key technical specification reflecting the ability of instruments to sense small variations of the Earth’s magnetic field and is closely related to the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the free induction decay (FID) signal. In this study, deuterated 15N TEMPONE radical is used in our sensor to obtain high DNP enhancement. The measured SNR of the FID signal is approximately 63/1, and the transverse relaxation time T2 is 2.68 s. The direct measurement method with a single instrument and the synchronous measurement method with two instruments are discussed for sensitivity estimation in time and frequency domains under different electromagnetic interference (EMI) environments and different time periods. For the first time, the correlation coefficient of the magnetic field measured by the two instruments is used to judge the degree of the influence of the environmental noise on the sensitivity estimation. The sensitivity evaluation in the field environment is successfully realized without electrical and magnetic shields. The direct measurement method is susceptible to EMI and cannot work in general electromagnetic environments, except it is sufficiently quiet. The synchronous measurement method has an excellent ability to remove most natural and artificial EMIs and can be used under noisy environments. Direct and synchronous experimental results show that the estimated sensitivity of the JOM-4S magnetometer is approximately 0.01 nT in time domain and approximately 0.01 nT/Hz in frequency domain at a 3 s cycling time. This study provides a low-cost, simple, and effective sensitivity estimation method, which is especially suitable for developers and users to estimate the performance of the instrument.

Abstract:
AbstractCommemoration of a field service held by 1200 Jewish soldiers protected by their gentile comrades on Yom Kippur of 1870 during the siege of Metz in the Franco-Prussian war played an important role among German Jews as a symbol of acceptance and integration into the society as citizens with equal rights. Based on a short note in several newspapers it became very fast a very common commemoration among Jews. But it was a pious fraud of an act that never happened in the described way. Although this was known and already published in late 1870 it did not hamper the spreading. In recent years this tradition of commemoration was revitalized. This time even in combination with a wrong date: the day when the French garrison of Metz surrendered. Moreover, it is described even by officials as an act of traditional religious tolerance in the German armed forces.
