Abstract:
Japanese has a different form of conversational skills from other languages in the world, namely the Danseigo language variety and the Joseigo language variety. Danseigo is a language variety that is often used by men in Japan when communicating. Danseigo is a male language that tends to be rude and informal. Danseigo is rarely found during formal events. Usually men use standard Japanese or use keigo if the other person is a respectable person. The formulation of the problem in this study is what is the meaning and function of shuujoshi in danseigo found in the Doraemon comic volume 3? The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning and function of shuujoshi in danseigo found in Doraemon comic volume 3. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The source of data used in the analysis of this research is a written source, namely the comic "Doraemon volume 3". In this comic, a form of conversation is found that uses a variety of languages and seigo. In addition, the use of shuujoshi (sound at the end of sentences) (~sa, ~kana/na, ~yo, ~ze, ~zo) and the use of ninshou daimeishi (boku, kimi, omae, aitsu, soitsu) were also found. This is because the comic characters are dominated by boys. Therefore, the use of danseigo is found in the Doraemon comic Volume 3.

Abstract:
Satō Haruo’s “Okāsan” (“Mother”) is a story that was published in Josei (Woman) magazine in October 1926. The plot follows “I” as he listens to the words of the parrot he bought from the pet store and deduces and fantasizes freely about her previous home. In this paper, I spotlight the fact that the home that “I” envisions through the voice of the parrot, Laura, corresponds to the family image that was being presented concurrently in Josei magazine and showcased that the ideal family was simply nothing more than an ideal. In relativizing Josei’s familial discourse, and in this relationship between the published magazine and the story, I argue for the latter’s importance.

The research examined the life’s perspective of the author that was reflected in wabi sabi in the novel ‘Joseito’ by Dazai Osamu. The life of the Joseito character described by Dazai Osamu in the Joseito novel had individual values (honne), and Joseito desired to equate it with collective values (tatemae). However, Joseito could not unite the two contradictory values and accepted the contradiction. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with the sociology of literature approach and focused on the sociology of the author using the concept of wabi sabi. Data on wabi sabi were collected from reading Joseito’s novels. The research results find that Dazai Osamu sincerely accepts the contradictions in Japanese society because Dazai can place himself where he is. Dazai is willing to accept contradictions in Japanese society by understanding the meaning of wabi sabi. He learns to appreciate, accept what it is, and be grateful for the contradictions in society because these contradictions can establish harmony in a beautifully ordered life through wabi sabi.

Abstract:
The first time I saw Doctor Joselito Buluran or JB as he was fondly called, was when we were oriented before we began our Pre-Residency. He was shy and most of the time quiet when in the presence of people he was not familiar with. He always had a ready smile and laughed just as easily. Sometimes you felt he was the kid in school who was bullied and made fun of. He was easy to get along with and probably had no enemies. He was very unassuming. Unknown to most of us he was in fact Chinese by blood who grew up locally; he was the youngest in the family (born when his mother was in her 60’s). It was sometimes funny that given that fact and the way he looked, one may think he could be retarded. Now that was funny because he was in fact quite intelligent. Now imagine that and combine that with his study habits you had a powerhouse of a resident who would be prepared for the weekly grand rounds or the subspecialty hour. The night before the grand rounds you would see him pouring over Cummings and you would still see him reading when you woke up the next day. He was always studying. It was therefore no surprise that he readily passed the USMLE when he took it in our 2nd year of residency JB was not athletic. But that did not stop him from participating in the PSO-HNS sportsfests. And even if he did not know how to play and looked like a duck out of water, he gamely joined the tennis tournament between residents thought up by another co-resident. He was easy to get along with and seemed like he never got angry. In fact, of all the residents, he may have been the subject and target of more jokes and practical jokes than anyone else. He made sure he did what was assigned to him. As an intern’s monitor, a position he reveled in, he was constantly teaching the interns. One day I saw him in the ENT chair at the OPD and asked him what he was doing. He answered that he was testing the interns if they know how to actually remove cerumen and he was in the chair because he was the patient. It was also when he was intern’s monitor that he met the love of his life. Suddenly, his world changed. From a happy-go-lucky guy with a ready smile he suddenly became serious. So serious in fact that he approached me one night and confronted me if I was showing interest in the same person he was interested in. I’m kind of smiling because I still remember that night. That was totally not in character for JB. I assured him that he had nothing to fear because I had no interest, and the girl was his. He courted her and in the end they got married. We parted ways when we graduated, and we barely saw each other even during conventions. He moved back to Norzagaray where he established his practice. I always thought he would be using his MLE but he never did. Once when we were somewhere in Bulacan near Norzagaray, my wife needed a phone and I thought since we were in Buluran territory why not try to find him. He was easy to find because the people we asked pointed us to where he lived And so it is with sadness that I heard of his passing. Maybe it’s ironic that he had a very fine heart but in the end it was his heart that did him in If you took your Temporal Bone Course at the EAMC, then JB has touched your lives. He was the one who made those dissection bowls you used

AbstractInitial excavations (1935-1941) in San Josecito Cave, Nuevo León, México revealed a rich late Quaternary fossil fauna. The San Josecito Cave fauna was viewed as a single time-related entity despite the lack of 14C dating. Renewed excavations (1990) recovered a series of 14 C samples related to the complex stratigraphy. Six 14C dates show that the recently excavated deposits range in age between 45,000 and 27,000 yr B.P. These ages suggest that the upper deposits, removed in the earlier excavations, date from 27,000 to 11,000 yr B.P.

Based on the results of a comprehensive geological and mineralogical-geochemical study of the ores of the Namovskoye deposit, new data have been obtained that reflect the specifics of mineralization. The ores of the deposit were formed in close connection with the manifestation of Early Cretaceous monzonitoid magmatism against the background of active left-hand movements along the Central Sikhote-Alin fault. U-Pb dating of the ore-bearing dike yielded an age of 103 Ma. The ores of the deposit, in addition to native gold, contain high concentrations of Ag, Bi, and Cu. A variety of bismuth minerals were found in the ores: sulfide (bismuthinite), telluride (hedleyite), sulfotellurides (tetradymite, joseite-А and joseite-В), Ag sulfobismuthite (matildite), Pb-Bi sulfosalts (aschamalmite, cannizzarite, cosalite, lillianite, nuffieldite, galenobismuthite), an intermetallic compound of gold (maldonite), and native bismuth. Silver minerals were also found: chloride (cerargyrite), sulfide (acanthite), and telluride (hessite). The typomorphic features of ore minerals and the geological structure of the Namovskoye deposit assign it to the gold deposits formed in a transform continental margin setting. A mantle source of ore mineralization is suggested.

http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/2179460X14613In this paper, we present a didactic sequence of activities designed for a group of high school students, aged 15-18 years. Our main objective is to study a problem proposed by the mathematician Josephus, around the year 64. Initially, we review some content like numerical sequences, including the special cases of the Arithmetic and Geometric Progressions. Then, we introduce some notions about Recurrence Relations and the Principle of Mathematical Induction, allowing the generalization of some concepts and results which are already known intuitively by the group of students. This article is part of the dissertation entitled A Proposed Approach to Josephus Problem Applied to High School prepared by the student Erondina Marcia D. Abstract:

Abstract:
Agrippa II. Centro-periferia. Quietismo.

Abstract:
Advances in technology have equipped paleobiologists with new analytical tools to assess the fossil record. The functional traits of vertebrates have been used to infer paleoenvironmental conditions. In Quaternary deposits, birds are the second-most-studied group after mammals. They are considered a poor paleoambiental proxy because their high vagility and phenotypic plasticity allow them to respond more effectively to climate change. Investigating multiple groups is important, but it is not often attempted. Biogeographical and climatic niche information concerning small mammals, reptiles, and birds have been used to infer the paleoclimatic conditions present during the Late Pleistocene at San Josecito Cave (~28,000 14C years BP), Mexico. Warmer and dryer conditions are inferred with respect to the present. The use of all of the groups of small vertebrates is recommended because they represent an assemblage of species that have gone through a series of environmental filters in the past. Individually, different vertebrate groups provide different paleoclimatic information. Birds are a good proxy for inferring paleoprecipitation but not paleotemperature. Together, reptiles and small mammals are a good proxy for inferring paleoprecipitation and paleotemperature, but reptiles alone are a bad proxy, and mammals alone are a good proxy for inferring paleotemperature and precipitation. The current paleoclimatic results coupled with those of a previous vegetation structure analysis indicate the presence of non-analog paleoenvironmental conditions during the Late Pleistocene in the San Josecito Cave area. This situation would explain the presence of a disharmonious fauna and the extinction of several taxa when these conditions later disappeared and do not reappear again.

Abstract:
San Josecito Cave (2250 m elevation) is located nearby Aramberri, Nuevo León, northeastern Mexico, with excavations occurring in 1935–1941 and 1990. It is a paleontological cave and the significance of its faunal data rests in the understanding of the Quaternary ecosystems of the Mexican Plateau and the Southern Plains. This significance is underpinned by a consideration of associated stratigraphic and geochronological data. The fauna is composed of mollusks, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. More than 30 extinct vertebrate species have been identified, constituting one of the most important Quaternary localities in the Americas. Radiocarbon dates and faunal correlations indicate the excavated deposits represent an interval of time between 45,000 and 11,000 14C years BP. The current synthesis demonstrates that the previous view of the assemblage as a single local fauna is erroneous and that, instead, several successive local faunas are present within a stratigraphic framework. This finding underscores the need for detailed studies of single localities in building paleoenvironmental models. As a corollary, results point to the necessity of including all vertebrate classes represented from a locality in building those models. In addition, the field and analytical methodologies demonstrate the importance of very detailed paleontological excavations, with precise spatial and temporal controls, to assess the taphonomic history of a locality, construct a stratigraphic and geochronological framework, and infer the paleoecological conditions during the time span considered based on the number of local faunas represented. The recognition of San Josecito Cave as an important Late Pleistocene vertebrate paleontological locality is enhanced with the consideration of its faunal data for paleoenvironment reconstruction and possible contribution to Quaternary paleoclimatic modeling.
