Abstract:
<em>In the realm of scientific publishing, the pursuit of an effective metric for assessing journal impact persists. The Journal Citation Indicator (JCI), introduced by Clarivate Analytics, aims to provide a field-normalized, easily comparable measure of a journal's influence. Calculated based on the Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI) at the article level, JCI offers a comprehensive evaluation by considering specific characteristics of different fields and their publications. While acknowledging the prominence of citation-based metrics, this abstract advocates for a broader perspective

Abstract:
Background As an important platform for researchers to present their academic findings, medical journals have a close relationship between their evaluation orientation and the value orientation of their published research results. However, the differences between the academic impact and level of disruptive innovation of medical journals have not been examined by any study yet. Objective This study aims to compare the relationships and differences between the academic impact, disruptive innovation levels, and peer review results of medical journals and published research papers. In the commercial realm, the annual publication volume (PUB) significantly influences the business models of article processing charge (APC)-based open access (OA) journals, though it may negatively impact journal reputation. Despite this, the interactions among APC, PUB, and the Journal Citation Indicator (JCI)—a key marker of journal reputation—have not been thoroughly examined. The objective of this study is to reveal the interactions among APC, PUB, and JCI, determine if there are differences between the interactions inside and outside of China, and uncover the possible mechanisms enabling

Abstract The assessment of consumer scholarship must move beyond a mere counting of the number of “A”s on a researcher’s CV to include at least some measure of impact. To facilitate a broader assessment of scholarship in consumer research, we provide detailed statistics on the productivity and citation impact of the field’s 340 main gatekeepers: the editors, associate editors, and editorial board members of the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Consumer Psychology. In addition, we introduce a new metric, called the p-index, which can be interpreted as an indicator of a researcher

Abstract:
A representative empirical bibliometric analysis of Russian journals included in the Journal Citation Reports-Science Edition (JCR-SE) for the time period 19952010 was conducted at the macro level (excluding the subject categories). It was found that the growth in the number of articles covered by JCR (a 1.8-fold increase compared to 1995) is ahead of the growth rates of Russian publications (1.2-fold increase). Hence, the share of Russian articles covered by JCR-SE was down from 2.5% in 1995 to 1.7% in 2010. It was determined that the number of articles published in an average Russian journal

Abstract:
The use of the Journal Impact Factor as an indicator of the quality of individual articles and journals presents limitations. Here, we propose a new approach that combines citation distributions by percentiles, the number and proportion of uncited articles, and the number and proportion of publications below the mean citations in relation to the journal and the field as a method to measure the influence of the publications and their real visibility. We tested it with 10 journals under the Information Science and Library Science category (LIS) of the JCR whose articles were retrieved from OpenA

With the growth of scientific production, quantitative indicators - such as the number of articles published in specialized journals - have assumed an increasingly central role in the evaluation of research institutions, directly influencing the allocation of resources for projects and scholarships. These indicators are directly influenced by the characteristics of the information sources used for their calculation.
