This thesis employs a variety of theoretical approaches to examine the representation of children in the novels and journalism of Charles Dickens. Whereas previous studies of Dickensian children have concentrated on his fictional characters, I have expanded the parameters of the discussion to include his journalism, and his examination of children as readers. Proposition 227, which prohibited the use of Spanish in the classrooms, has made it difficult to make the home-school connection. Abstract:

This thesis contains a qualitative content analysis of Daily Monitor, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet’s articles about children, and child soldiers in Uganda. In total, there were 26 articles that have been applied to this study. The purpose of this thesis was to compare all 26 articles with each other to see potential diffrences or similarities. Theory based answers were applied when I was analyzing the articles' differences and similarities. Introdução - A obesidade é um problema de Saúde Pública no Brasil, onde segundo a Pesquisa de Orçamentos Familiares (POF) 2008-2009 uma em cada três crianças de 5 a 9 anos está acima do peso. No ano de 2010 a Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (ANVISA) regulamentou a propaganda de alimentos e criou regras contra abusos nos anúncios para crianças, processo iniciado em 2004 que gerou grande interesse da mídia nacional, especialmente dos jornais impressos. A resolução da ANVISA, no entanto, não está em vigor em razão de ordens judiciais obtidas pelo setor atingido pela regulamentação. Objet
