Abstract:
The book is a collection of two texts separately brought out half a century ago: one on Jonathan Swift (1968), the other on his famous novel Gulliver's Travels (1972). If on the first publication they attracted attention it was thanks both to the hero, presented as a satirist and political journalist, and the author Vladimir Muravyov (1939-2001), who enjoyed a reputation among Moscow intelligentsia as a dissident intellectual whose taste in poetry was appreciated by Anna Akhmatova. The texts in a new book are identical to those published in the Soviet time. Muravyov must have mastered stylistic inventiveness of his hero — to speak in a manner quite direct and at the same time elusive. He wanted to tell a life story of the writer whom he had chosen as one of his literary guides and whose lifelong battle on the side of the Reason must have looked too archaic, and therefore safe, to the Soviet censor but quite actual to the penetrating eyes of the audience.

Abstract:
The key goal of this paper is the reconstruction of key moments in Stanislav Krakov?s (1895-1968) biography. He was a famous Serbian man of letters, prominent interwar journalist, war hero and finally an emigrant publicist. The paper is based on personal testimonies, biographical notes, archive material from Stanislav Krakov Collection kept in the Archives of Yugoslavia, documents from the National Library of Serbia and the Yugoslav Cinematheque, periodicals and contemporary newspapers, as well as on testimonies of Krakov?s contemporaries. This paper shows the life of Stanislav Krakov from his early life circumstances: volunteering in the First and Second Balkan War, participation in the World War I as an officer, concluding with the perilous journey through Albanian mountains to the Adriatic Sea, and breakthrough on the Macedonian Front in 1918 via Kaymakchalan. Wounded and decorated several times, he did not stay in the army. He dedicated himself to literature and journalism. The stressful and jagged atmosphere in interwar Yugoslavia Defined Stanislav Krakov. While being a kind of a Balgrade dandy he was also a prominent patriotic figure - a decorated young veteran, editor of Politika and editor- in-chief of Vreme newspapers, writer of war novels, travel memoirs, theater critic, and so on. Family and ideological connections with general Nedic determined his journalist career and personal life during the World War II - when he was the editor of Obnova and editor-in-chief of Novo Vreme - as well as after it. As a collaborator, after the WWII, this well-known hero of the WWI and the Balkan Wars passed away as a fugitive and emigrant, never bringing to an end the intended monograph about general Nedic, nor his own memoirs.

Abstract:
Purpose. The article examines the methods of building dialogue in interviews conducted by the popular video blogger and journalist Yury Dud, who is named the main hero of Russian cultural life in 2020 by Forbes Life. To determine his individual style, the author analyzes strategies of communicative behavior. The following parameters are the most significant for the description of interviewing strategies: thematic repertoire and thematic dominants of the conversation; methods of requesting/extracting information; methods of interpreting and evaluating what the interlocutor said; the choice of language code. The empirical basis of the study contains interviews by Yu. Dud with various interlocutors – journalists, TV presenters, cultural and show business figures, politicians, and other public figures, uploaded on the YouTube video hosting service in the period of 2017–2020. The analysis of more than 40 programs allows observing a wide range of techniques of a journalist, depending on the “addressee factor”.Results. The key topics that are regularly discussed in interviews are identified, including those that violate ethical taboos (about sex, bad behavior, and bad habits, judgments and hot takes on colleagues and senior officials, etc.). The thematic repertoire is considered as a deliberate communicative choice of a journalist, conditioned by the dramaturgy of public dialogue addressed to a mass audience and the tasks of portrayal. The author reveals the distinctive methods of requesting information and eliciting facts, which is inherent to the journalistic style of Yu. Dud: illocutionary forcing reasoning (“why-questions”), clarifying questions, reformulating, role modeling of relations with a guest, where the journalist often pretends being dilettante. Interpretation and evaluation of the interlocutor's statements are based on the clearest identification of their position for the mass addressee by an explication of ideas expressed by the guest implicitly, “delegation of opinion”, and the effects of “insight”.The choice of the language code indicates the “discursive adaptation” of the journalist to his interlocutor and allows the journalist to reveal to the mass audience their personality, including their speech characteristics. The dynamism of the dialogue is due to the setting to dramatize the conversation scenario: this is manifested not only in the choice of somewhat unexpected topics of conversation, but also in the expression of one's attitude to the statements of the interlocutor, explicit/implicit assessments, and the choice of the speech code.Conclusion. It is concluded that Dud’s interviews are a vivid example of the trends of modern Internet journalism, and the communicative strategies he implements allow us to see the prospects for the development of the genre. Given the popularity of the genre in traditional and new media, the author notices that the interview not only reflects the features of social communications of the 21st century but is also a powerful factor of shaping modern mass culture.

Abstract:
Interview is the basis of a journalist’s work. Without an interview, it is impossible to get information, get an opinion and get an idea of the event. The article is devoted to the role and effectiveness of interactive forms in the development of any genre of journalism, including interviews. It describes an algorithm for conducting the training “Game in an interview”. Examples of approach to interviews with various heroes are given. Special attention is paid to the attitude of the journalist to the interviewee. Young ambitious journalists are often not ready to give up their opinion and personal attitude towards the hero, which obviously puts them in the position of non-professionals. For a real look at the situation, the training “Game in an interview” is conducted. After such a lesson – the level of interviewers increases.

Abstract:
Abstract: This article discusses the American writer-journalist Ernest Hemingway’s novel For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940), his fiction of the Spanish Civil War, which the author wrote in Spain while serving as a war correspondent for the North American Newspaper Alliance. The novel, sympathetic to the Loyalist cause, seemed to take a more political turn than his previous novels and stories, but in fact turned out to work yet another variation of the typical “Hemingway hero” celebrated in nearly all of the author’s work – the isolated individual, courageous, doomed, but determined to elicit some meaning from life in an absurd world. Keywords: Spanish Civil War; Hemingway hero; Literature of War.

Abstract:
- The "Granbassi Case" exploded in Trieste after the decision of the Comunal council to re-name a public space in his honour. The honour of being a "fascist hero". Mario Granbassi (1907-1939) was a journalist of the «Piccolo», a local newspaper, but above all a propagandist of the fascist regime. He conducted a fortuitous radio transmission, in the early thirties, "Mastro Remo" aimed at children and young adults and founded a specialized weekly magazine. He died in Spain as a volenteer fighting on Franco's side and was awarded, not only the gold metal, but also the name of a street. A street that in 1946 resumed it's ancient name; that of Samuel Romanin, an historian wantingly canceled by the racial laws for being "non-arian". This past year has seen this continual controversy tighten between the council and the opponents who have written several letters and articles, organized press conferences and rallies in the contested site. The site consists of steps dedicated to Giuseppe Revere, a Trieste born jewish Mazzini follower.Key words: Granbassi, Trieste, the racial laws, toponymic, Fascism, Spanish Civil War.Parole chiave: Granbassi, Trieste, leggi razziali, toponomastica, fascismo, guerra civile spagnola.

Abstract:
Created by Hergé in 1929, Tintin is a truly successful publication, since these comic books have been translated into about a hundred languages and published throughout the world during the 20th century. Several studies have already been conducted on Tintin. However, the place and role of physical and sports activities practiced by this tireless journalist in the promotion of these highly sustainable activities have never been analyzed. Through both quantitative and qualitative analyses (descriptions, counts, frequencies and percentages), this work studies all the panels of the 23 albums of Tintin’s adventures dealing with any form of physical exercise or sport. The results indicate that the representation of physical and sporting activity in Tintin’s adventures remains steady and consistent from the first (1931) to the last book (1976). Thus, Hergé had never ceased to believe in the beneficial, physiological, psychological, moral and social effects of physical activity on his young, tireless hero. To summarize, the eternally youthful and perfectly fit, Tintin leads both his core band and occasional characters and may serve as a role model influencing young 20th century readers toward the benefits of an active lifestyle.

Abstract:
Para tal, serão analisados cinco filmes fundamentais para a história do jornalismo no cinema, desde os anos 40 e 50, através d’ O Grande Escândalo, Citizen Kane e O Grande Carnaval, até a Os Homens do Presidente, dos anos 70 e ao filme mais recente, Ligações Perigosas, de 2009.<br>Cinema, known as the 7th Art, is a ‘factory of dreams’ and of images, capturing and bewitching its audience for more than a century now, and in the dark of the cinema hall, this public identifies with their idols, creating in that way myths, such as the one of the ‘journalist-hero’. Journalists are defined by their professional culture, a series of characteristics unique to the profession, such as objectivity, neutrality and the search for the truth, for example. They also possess, within the so called journalistic routine, a series of procedures that are also specific to this community, such as a special way of speaking, pack journalism, and an obsession for scoops, deadlines and the competition, among others. The objective of this dissertation will be of understanding how the image of journalists has been portrayed along the years in the movies, and how this image has evolved. For that, five fundamental movies for the history of journalism on cinema will be analyzed, since the 40’s and 50’s, through His Girl Friday, Citizen Kane and Ace in the Hole, to the 70’s, with All the President’s Men, and to the most recent movie, State of Play, from 2009.

Abstract:
This chapter begins with an epigraph, “What can you do with the camera that makes you feel like you're a participant?”, which was taken from the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges' book War is a Force that Gives Us Meaning. It points out that the epigraph was used in the opening of The Hurt Locker and considered one of the film's central thematic motifs and metaphor. It also looks at The Hurt Locker's very particular cinematic style that is described as both jagged and frenetic. The chapter discusses how The Hurt Locker was filmed in Jordan, a country which borders Iraq to the west and has a very similar architecture to Baghdad where the film is primarily set. It analyzes the cinematic language and narrative choices that lead towards understanding the character of William James as a masculine hero and a decisive man of action.
