I denne artikel undersøger vi danske journalisters interaktion med forskellige grupper, som de udfolder sig på det sociale medie Twitter. Undersøgelsen viser, at journalister på Twitter i høj grad lever i deres egen verden blandt journalister og andre ligesindede: 61 % af de udvalgte journalisters interaktioner er med andre journalister, 27 % er med andre medlemmer af eliten, mens kun 12 % af er med den brede offentlighed.

Via kvalitative interviews med journalister fra forskellige medier i begge lande viser studiet, hvordan de i dækningen oplevede at pendle mellem mere eller mindre passive og aktive professionelle roller (Bro 2008) og at være underlagt (ofte modstridige) idealer om objektiv nyhedsformidling.
