Entre sus libros más destacados se tienen los siguientes: Lógica formal y lingüística (1987), Lenguas del mundo (1990), La lingüística teórico-tipológica (1995); Introducción a la lingüística: enfoque tipológico y universalista (1997), Fundamentos de sintaxis general (1987), Curso universitario de lingüística general (2000), La dignidad e igualdad de las lenguas (2009), El universo de las lenguas (2003), Introducción a la lingüística (2004) y El nacionalismo lingüístico. Una ideología destructiva (2008), etc. Además de su labor como autor, ha sido un profesor apasionado, compartiendo su amor por la lingüística con generaciones de estudiantes. Este artículo profundiza en la relación entre Miguel Cabrera y la Compañía de Jesús a través del análisis del retrato grabado que hizo del jesuita Juan Antonio de Oviedo y de su entorno social. Considera además la posibilidad de que el Miguel Cabrera que aparece como firmante oficial en el Libro de la Congregación de la Limpia Concepción de Nuestra Señora en 1761 sea el famoso pintor novohispano. Tratándose de una de las más prestigiosas congregaciones marianas de los jesuitas, se plantea cómo este tipo de noticias sobre las actividades socio-religiosas de los pintores amplían nuestro conocimiento no sólo de sus carreras sino también de los caminos de la pintura en una época en que se fraguaba un proyecto académico.

En 1708 el fraile franciscano Antonio Cabrera de Córdoba publicaba su obra Glorias de el Señor D. Felipe Quinto, en cuyo frontispicio incluía un grabado de Juan Bautista Ravanals en el que se representaba al monarca a caballo venciendo a sus rivales.
 La fórmula no era, por supuesto, original, sino que está basada en unos esquemas convencionales consolidados por la tradición visual y mantenidos por otros tipos iconográficos similares. Le acompañan una serie de textos en los que se insiste en la ayuda divina a su causa en el contexto de la Guerra de Sucesión.

RESUMENDesde la segunda mitad del XVII hasta mediados del siglo siguiente se extiende una línea poética que trabaja con elementos persistentes desde la primera fase del barroco, pero con una articulación y un significado en el que se perciben las huellas del cambio. Una de las líneas de esta estética bajobarroca representa un paso en la dirección adoptada después por la poética neoclásica e ilustrada, y puede concretarse en la reordenación de las relaciones entre sentimiento y razón. Este estudio toma como punto de partida el poemario anónimo Fragmentos del ocio (1668, reeditado en 1683), reconocido como de Juan Gaspar Enríquez de Cabrera, y, a partir de un análisis del empleo del término «razón» y su concepto, se apoya en las variantes de una diacronía que lo acerca al siglo XVIII para abordar una proyección de los rasgos observados en la caracterización de la poética bajobarroca. Se destacan como elementos distintivos un novedoso sentido de la inmanencia, la redefinición del lugar social de la poesía y de la posición de su autor y, finalmente, la tendencia a la poesía de circunstancias. Con ellas la sentimentalidad abandona su condición de componente definitorio de la lírica y abre paso a una racionalidad ligada a los nuevos modelos de sociabilidad e ideales expresivos.PALABRAS CLAVEEnríquez de Cabrera, Fragmentos del ocio, razón, bajo barroco, poética, campo literario. ABSTRACTSince the second half of the seventeenth century a poetic current is developed until the middle of the next century, working with persistent elements from the first phase of the Baroque, but with a joint and a meaning where the traces of change are perceived. One line of this bajobarroca aesthetic represents a step in the direction that the neoclassical and illustrated poetry take after, and it may be materialized in the reconstructing of the relationship between feeling and reason. This study takes as its starting point the anonymous book of poetry Fragmentos del ocio (1668, reprinted 1683), whose author was Juan Gaspar Enriquez de Cabrera. From an analysis of the use “reason” and its concept, the study is based in the variants in a diachrony that brings the work near the eighteenth century. So, it is possible to map out the features observed in the characterization of the low baroque poetic. They are outstanding categories a new sense of immanence, the redefinition of the social place of poetry and of position of the author, and, finally, the tendency to the poetry of circumstances. Tradicionalmente, la mayoría de los incunables sine notis de Salamanca se consideraban publicados por la «primera imprenta anónima de Salamanca», también conocida como Printer Nebrissensis Introductiones latinae −según figura en ISTC y GW−; o por la «segunda imprenta anónima de Salamanca», también conocida como Printer Nebrissensis Gramática −según figura en ISTC y GW− o por otras variantes en las que el nombre del impresor era desconocido. Los incunables fueron adscritos a una u otra de las imprentas anónimas. Pero ahora, después de la investigación de María Antonia Varona García y después del análisis tipográfico de los incunables, según el Método Proctor-Haebler, es posible poner nombre y apellido a cada uno de los responsables de ambas imprentas anónimas. Estos fueron Alonso de Porras y Juan de Porras, dos generaciones de una misma familia.

En este artículo se defiende que Miguel de Cervantes tuvo un concepto clásico de la historiografía que consistía, fundamentalmente, en estudiar hechos políticos del pasado reciente. En relación con ese concepto, aquí se analiza e interpreta Don Quijote de la Mancha como parodia de las prácticas historiográficas del Siglo de Oro, especialmente aquellas dedicadas al estudio de la Antigüedad, que no se ajustaban al canon cervantino. Asimismo, este trabajo analiza el ambiente cortesano en el que convivían literatos e historiadores y subraya algunas afinidades entre Cervantes e historiadores y escritores como Luis Cabrera de Córdoba y Pedro Mantuano, con quienes Cervantes compartió ideas sobre cómo escribir historia, estrategias para asociarse con el entorno del duque de Lerma y animadversión por adversarios como Juan de Mariana.

Desde la reconsideración de los estudios asincrónicos y la resignificación de las imágenes, propuestos por Georges Didi-Huberman, en este estudio de caso se explora la emergencia de una “imagen espontánea”: el número ocho que en el tobillo de la imagen guadalupana de México detectaron el pintor Miguel Cabrera y el historiador Mariano Fernández de Echeverría y Veytia. Una cifra enigmática que devino en signo exegético y acabó, por efecto de los juegos retóricos, en un artilugio de hondo mensaje profético, incluso libertario. El número ocho, además, resultó una práctica pictórica inherente al concepto de vera effigie o casi una manera de autentificar las copias del ayate de Juan Diego. Este signo devoto y promisorio no escapó, sin embargo, a la crítica ilustrada y racionalista del siglo XVIII pese al prestigio del pintor que lo reportó en su dictamen Maravilla americana de 1756.

The marriage of Louis XIV of France and Maria Theresa of Spain sanctioned the end of the Franco-Spanish war (1635-1659). The terms of the peace treaty and the marriage agreement were the result of a long negotiation which conclude with the extraordinary embassy sent to Madrid, led by Antoine III Gramont, marshal of France and duke of Gramont. In this article, we examine different aspects of the entry, reception and regalement of the French embassy at the court of Philip IV. For this purpose, we have considered an extensive corpus of textual sources (accounts, diaries, memories, poetical compositions and archival documents) that supply information about those events. We have focused our attention on the role played by the nobility -in particular, by Juan Gaspar Enríquez de Cabrera, 10th Admiral of Castile-, considering at the same time the relevant function of the material culture in early modern diplomacy.

En este trabajo nos proponemos revisar algunos problemas que plantea la trayectoria política de don Juan Tomás Enríquez de Cabrera (1646-1705, VII Duque de Medina de Rioseco, XI Almirante de Castilla), a partir de lo que hemos definido como una historia socio-cultural de la política, centrando el análisis en las implicaciones derivadas de su decisión de abandonar su condición de súbdito de Felipe V para pasar al campo de los aliados y jurar fidelidad al Archiduque Carlos. A partir de ese momento, se convertiría en objeto de especulaciones por parte de propios y ajenos en el marco de la Guerra de Sucesión Española que transformó la Península Ibérica en un campo de batalla, dentro de un conflicto de alcance global.

Summary This proposal aims to provide an update of the catalogues of findings associated with the mysteries of Mithras in Hispania produced by García y Bellido (1967) and Alvar Ezquerra (1981). A new approach to the archaeological material is needed due to the multiplicity of findings in recent decades and the overcoming of traditional theories in this field of study. We have focused on the figurative monuments, as Mithraic iconography has been considered a mere vehicle for the transmission of the eschatology of the cult. Although three representations of tauroctony were located in the province of Baetica, the findings of Tróia and Mérida, both in Lusitania, are the most important source of materials in the territory of Hispania. Recent discoveries in Lugo, Altafulla, Cabrera de Mar, Puente Genil, San Juan de la Isla, Barbate, Mérida, along with the revision of the Museo Nacional de Arte Romano collection, have been a great contribution to the study of Mithraism in the Iberian Peninsula.

Introducción a la taxonomía lingüística </em>de Juan Carlos Moreno Cabrera (MC de aquí en más). Este es un manual introductorio del que pueden sacar provecho no solo estudiantes de grado y posgrado sino también lingüistas con intención de profundizar sobre temas quizá poco conocidos para ellos (la escasez de publicaciones sobre diversidad lingüística tiene como correlato su marginal lugar en los planes de estudio). Con sus aciertos y aspectos perfectibles, la obra de MC brinda un panorama muy completo de las diferentes respuestas que se han dado desde la lingüística al fascinante desafío de clasificar las lenguas del mundo.

Juan Luis Vives's Instruction of a, Christen Woman (hereafter ICW), the text Ruth Kelso has described as the most influential conduct book for women of the sixteenth century, was printed and reprinted in English over nine times during the course of the century: in 1529, 1531, 1541, 1547, 1557, and 1567 from the shop of the Erasmian printer Thomas Berthelet, in 1585 by Robert Waldegrave, and in 1592, by John Danter. In addition to the widely recognized significance of the often contradictory views of women expressed in ICW, these English editions are significant as an example of an early modern reconstituting of the historical record. Allusions to Catherine of Aragon within these editions reflect swings in Tudor court politics and trace the privatization of this once seemingly powerful woman as she was removed from court and public life.

A causa de su militancia en el partido socialista, el poeta canario Domingo López Torres (1910-1937) murió asesinado en los inicios de la Guerra Civil española tras permanecer varios meses en prisión. Su compromiso no sólo fue político, sino también literario. Enemigo de todo tradicionalismo, simpatizó con aquellas tendencias estéticas renovadoras que incorporaban los estilos, las ideas y conductas más progresistas de la Europa de los años 30, llegando a desempeñar un papel vital en el proceso de recepción del surrealismo en la isla de Tenerife. Este artículo describe el paulatino acercamiento de López Torres al movimiento vanguardista liderado por André Breton. Con ese objetivo se analizan sus dos obras fundamentales: Diario de un sol de verano y Lo imprevisto, ambas inéditas hasta 1987 y 1981, respectivamente. Mientras el primer volumen, escrito hacia 1929, conecta con los principios del Ultraísmo, con el regionalismo postulado por su paisano Pedro García Cabrera, con la 'poesía pura' de Juan Ramón Jiménez o con las facetas neopopulistas de García Lorca y de Alberti, el segundo, compuesto en la cárcel de Fyffes poco antes de morir, revela ya el uso de imágenes y procedimientos abiertamente surrealistas.

Inició sus estudios musicales en el Seminario Menor de Granada (1959) con José Castañeda y Juan Alfonso García y en el Conservatorio de Música de Córdoba con Joaquín Reyes Cabrera y Rafael Quero, ampliándolos en el de Madrid con Julián López Gimeno, Manuel Carra, Federido Sopeña, Gerardo Gombau, Francisco Calés y Antonio Barrera Maraver, entre otros, obteniendo el Título Superior en 1973. En 1969 finalizó la Licenciatura en Filosofía y Letras (Sección Filosofía) en la Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (Santander y Madrid), y en 1970 la Licenciatura en Filosofía Pura en la Universidad Complutense (Madrid). Una beca de “Ayuda a la formación de personal investigador)” (1972-1975) le permitió proseguir su especialización musicológica en el Instituto Español de Musicología del CSIC de Barcelona con el profesor Miguel Querol, bajo cuya dirección realizó su tesis doctoral sobre “Las ideas musicales del P. Feijoo y la polémica que suscitaron: orígenes e influencias”, defendida en octubre de 1975 en el Departamento de Arte de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, ante el tribunal integrado por Francisco Rico, Francisco Bonastre, Miguel Querol, José Blecua, y Martín de Riquer obteniendo la máxima calificación y el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado. Ese mismo año se le concedió el Primer Premio Nacional del “Concurso Permanente de Composición e Investigación Musical” del Ministerio de Educación, en su primera edición (BOE de 26.12.1975) y fue becado por la Fundación Juan March, para la que realizó una amplia investigación sobre la vida y obras del compositor Sebastián Durón (1660-1716). Amplió su formación musical gracias a numerosas becas que le permitieron asistir a cursos en la Academia Chigiana de Siena (Italia), Música en Compostela, cursos de Pedagogía Musical Ataúlfo Argenta (Castro Urdiales) y cursos Manuel de Falla del Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada, entre otros.

En los últimos veinte años, la investigación de Silvano G. A. Benito Moya y de su equipo —nucleado en el Instituto de Estudios Históricos y el Centro de Estudios Históricos “Prof. Carlos S. A. Segreti” (Córdoba, Argentina)— se ha concentrado en el análisis de la cultura escrita colonial, en la historia de las universidades y en la exploración de los archivos de Córdoba y sus alrededores. Actualmente, Benito Moya es investigador adjunto del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) y profesor en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba y en la Universidad Católica de Córdoba. “Agradable a Dios y útil a los hombres”. El universo cultural en las bibliotecas de los franciscanos de Córdoba del Tucumán (1575-1850) es un nuevo producto de sus indagaciones en torno a la historia del libro y la cultura intelectual en la época colonial, redactado a partir de la colaboración con Karina Clissa, Eduardo Benítez Cardozo, María Luciana Llapur, Juan Thomas, María del Pilar Torreblanca y Enzo Cabrera. Sobre estos temas, Benito Moya había publicado anteriormente dos monografías, centradas en la universidad de Córdoba en el siglo XVIII y que se destacaron por la atención prestada, por un lado, a la escritura y la lectura, y, por el otro, a las órdenes religiosas que gestionaron la universidad en el período. En este sentido, “Agradable a Dios…” constituye una prolongación de esta veta de trabajo, concentrada en este caso en los libros que formaron parte de las bibliotecas del convento franciscano de San Jorge, en Córdoba, durante la época colonial y la primera mitad del siglo XIX. No es de extrañar, entonces, que el libro se haya publicado en el marco de la editorial de la orden franciscana en Argentina, Ediciones Castañeda (San Antonio de Padua, provincia de Buenos Aires), dirigida por Fray Jorge David Catalán.

There has been numerous documents about Sor Juana since Juan Camacho published his first volume in Madrid in 1689, and more so during 1995, her anniversary. There is no certainty about the date of her birth, it is placed between 1651 and 1653, she died in 1695. The magazines A BSIDE. REVISTA DE CULTURA MEXICANA during the period 1941-1973 published 25 articles, and CONTEMPORÂNEOS eight articles from 1929 to 1931; the BOLETIN DE LA BIBLIOTECA NACIONAL published five articles in 1951 and I960, but none of these deal with her library. The following authors have discussed her library: the writer, Ermilo Abreu Gómezf1934); Alfonso Méndez Plancarte (1944); the art historian and critic, Francisco de la Maza (1952); the poet Octavio Paz (1982); the ex-director of the Mexican National Library, Ignacio Osorio (1986). I think that the 4000 volumes of this library played an important part in her writings, and much more than companions: objects of her world. This library unfortunately, disintegrated by her at the end of her life, is an example of library collections and libraries of the New World, together with the first academic library built in Mexico City: "La Biblioteca del Colegio de Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco " (1536). To know about the titles of some of these books, whose existence can only be seen in two of the paintings of Sor Juana, one by the Mexican artist Juan de Miranda, active from 1697 to 1711, owned by the "Universidad Nacional Autônoma de México", and the other by the Mexican painter, Miguel Cabrera at the "Museo Nacional de Historia del Castillo de Chapultepec" in Mexico City, gives us an idea not only of her library, but of her world. The XVIIc in Mexico City is a baroque century with its four social entities: the Court, the Church, the City and the Convent in which Sor Juana lived. If we take into consideration her writings, there was a fifth entity, the Hispanic literary world. Sor Juana with her beauty, charm, intelligence and ability to deal with the most important personalities of her time was considered a string between the New and the Old Worlds because of her literary contributions as a woman, more so as an American woman of the XVIIc. She is pondered by Alatorref1995) as the spiritual gold similar to the gold extracted from the New World mines. In a metaphorical way her writings are the result of her intellect and of the contents extracted from the books which represented the world of knowledge contained in her library.

Abstract Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequent malignant tumor worldwide. The most frequent immunophenotype is luminal. 8-13% are diagnosed in metastatic stages and it is estimated that up to 20-40% of patients in local and locally advanced stages will recur. The first line of treatment in this scenario is cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors 4 and 6 (ICDK4/6). However, in our setting real world evidence is poor. Methods: We conducted an observational, retrospective, descriptive, cohort study in which women &gt;18 years with histological confirmation of breast cancer with hormone receptors (HR+) and HER-2 negative (-) in metastatic stage were evaluated at the ABC medical center. The primary objective was to evaluate clinical and pathological factors associated with progression-free survival (PFS). Results: 70 patients were treated with ICDK4/6, 54 (77%) presented recurrence while 16 (23%) presented de novo metastases, the median age was 58 years, 52 (74%) women were postmenopausal. The functional status they presented was ECOG 0 (7%), ECOG 1 (50%) and ECOG 2 (43%). Forty-five (64%) received ICDK4/6 in first, 13 (19%) in second, 9 (13%) in third and 3 (4%) in fourth or more lines of treatment. Forty (57%) had HER-2 low. The predominant number of metastatic sites was 2 in 25 (36%). Fifty (86%) used Palbociclib, 6 (9%) Ribociclib and 6 (5%) Abemaciclib. Factors that were associated with greater PFS were: using ICDK4/6 first line 23 vs 15, 20 or 4 months; HR=0.023 [95% CI; 0.004-0.136], p=&lt;0.001; objective response rate (ORR) of 24 vs 6 months, p=0.001; absence of HER-2 low of 25 vs 17 months (p=0.011). Factors associated with longer overall survival (OS) were ORR p=&lt;0.001, ECOG (p=0.019), INL &lt; 4 (p=0.031), lung metastases (p=0.011), liver metastases (p=0.015), other metastatic sites (p=&lt;0.001) and fatigue (p=0.036). HER-2 low status had a trend to lower OS (p=0.059). Adverse events (AE's) G3-4 occurred in 70%, with no differences between ICDK4/6 types, dose adjustments were required in 30%, treatment was discontinued in 19%, The most frequent toxicity with Palbociclib and Ribociclib was neutropenia (72% and 100% respectively), no grade 3-4 toxicities occurred with Abemaciclib. Conclusions: We present a Mexican study with real-world data in luminal breast cancer patients treated with ICDK4/6. PFS, OS, ORR and toxicity are similar to previous reported in clinical trials. Factors associated with higher PFS were the line in which ICDK4/6 was received and ORR. There was no difference between ICDK4/6 types. Abstract Background: HER2-low is predictive for benefit in patients who receive Trastuzumab-deruxtecan (TDxd). Formerly, low HER2 expression was considered HER2 negative according to ASCO-CAP criteria. The benefit derived from the use of TDxd has reshaped the biological understanding of HER2-low breast cancer and has triggered important efforts to decipher its prognostic and predictive significance. At the biological level, molecular characterization studies have not identified the HER2/low BC patient group as a distinct entity. Other studies have linked this biomarker as mirroring the activity of cross-linked intracellular signaling pathways such as PIK3CA which may confer a similar prognosis to luminal tumors. TDxd has been positioned as the first choice of chemotherapy in HR+/HER2- patients with advanced breast cancer. The benefit in progression-free survival is striking, with a median survival of close to 12 months. The post-iCDK scenario is an ongoing clinical need where more real-life studies are required to improve decision making. Objetive: To inform the prognosis of HER2-low expression among patients with advanced breast cancer HR+/HER2- who failed to iCDK 4/6 therapy. Methods: We conducted an observational study based on a cohort of patients with HR+/HER2- ABC who received treatment subsequent to progression of an iCDK4/6. After screening a cohort of 160 patients, 64 progressions and 56 patients who received subsequent therapy were documented. Finally, a survival analysis was performed among patients HER2low vs HER2 0. Results: The study included 13 patients with low HER2 and 43 with HER2 0. No significant differences were detected between the groups with respect to the type of iCDKs (Fisher's exact test p 0.47). No statistically significant differences were found between patient groups with respect to the type of subsequent treatment (CT vs. ET p 0.82). Thirty-five PFS events were observed, where 7 (53%) occurred in the HER2-low group and 28 (65%) in the HER2 zero group. No statistically significant differences were detected (p 0.52). In the survival analysis, the median PFS in subsequent treatment reached 389 vs. 153 days, with an increased probability of PFS of 174% more compared to the HER20 group. This effect was maintained when PFS2 was considered, from the date of iCDK initiation to subsequent treatment progression, with an HR of 2.74 (1.39-5.38) P= 0.024. Conclusions: HER2low was associated with longer PFS and PFS2 in patients receiving treatment subsequent to iCDKs progression. Contrary to reports from other series the prevalence of low HER2 was 23%, much lower than expected (around 60-80%). These findings should be considered with caution and regarded as exploratory for designing future studies. Further follow-up is required to explore the prognostic impact of low HER2 in this setting. BackgroundAn innovative non-ionizing ultrasound technique for osteoporosis diagnosis, which directly measures the BMD (Bone Mineral Density) of both the lumbar spine and the femoral neck, REMS, has shown significant correlations with BMD values and good levels of concordance with DXA-based diagnoses.ObjectivesCross-sectional study to establish the concordance of BMD measurement between REMS and the gold standard (DXA) in Colombian adult patients receiving oral steroids.MethodsObservational, analytical and descriptive, cross-sectional study in adults of both sexes who receive steroids and who attend a rheumatology center in Bogotá-Colombia. Inclusion criteria: Men and women over 18 years. Receiving steroids more than 2.5 mg of prednisone or its equivalent for 3 or more continuous months. Interpretable bone densitometry. Subjects who accepted their participation in the study and signed the informed consent. Exclusion criteria: History of prosthesis implantation in the abdomen and/or buttocks. Known physical deformities and/or previous lumbar spine surgery and/or bilateral hip replacement. Pregnant women. Subjects prevented from performing bone densitometry. The densitometric measurements were made with a compact high-performance equipment from General Electric, model iDXA, by the same technologist at the skeletal sites of interest. In a second moment, the same trained technologist performed the BMD measurement with REMS, using an EchoS machine (Echolight®), equipped with a 3.5 MHz convex transducer. This study was submitted and approved by the institutional ethics committee. The calculation of the sample size was carried out with the prevalence of osteoporosis induced by steroids, for n of 185 individuals. The concordance between the two technologies was evaluated with the weighted Cohen’s Kappa index.Results200 patients were included in the study, 162 were women. The median age of the entire cohort was 50.5 years (IQR: 22.2), with a minimum age of 20 and a maximum of 86 years. In women, the median age at menarche was 13 years (IQR: 2) and the median age for menopause was 47 years (IQR: 8), only 2.50% (n = 5) reported having fractures for fragility. 51% of the patients had rheumatoid arthritis, SLE 29% and other diagnoses 20%. Regarding the type of corticosteroid used, 92.5% received prednisolone. The last dose of corticosteroid used in median was 5 mg/day (IQR: 5). In the case of the accumulated dose in the last year, the median was 1825 mg/year (IQR: 1850). For the concordance analysis, 11 patients were excluded because the image of all the lumbar vertebral bodies could not be interpreted with both DXA and REMS techniques. Además de editar y traducir su texto, analiza el contexto histórico y arqueológico de la zona de Torre de Juan Abad y del Campo de Montiel y explora los escasos restos de cultura islámica que conservan. Se concluye que el texto está en lengua árabe y grafía cúfica simple y que fue grabado en la segunda mitad del siglo X sobre una lápida romana reutilizada. Abstract Background: A significant percentage of patients (p.) with solid tumors present with pleural effusion or ascitic fluid during disease history. Although isolation of viable malignant cells from these fluids for drug screening and other experimental purposes have been described in the literature, the success rate in obtaining pure cultures is low and the technique is rarely employed in the clinical setting. Here, we present the results of the implementation in our hospital of routine primary culture and subsequent drug testing from pleural effusions and ascites. Methods: 22 pleural effusions (PE) and 11 ascitic fluid from 33 p. were collected; three colon, one esophagous, one melanoma, eight ovarian, one pancreatic and 19 lung cancer. Total cells were isolated by centrifugation, erythrocytes discarded by density gradient and the remaining cells cultured in RPMI + 20%FBS. Primary cultures were genotyped by next generation sequencing (NGS), FISH, qPCR and nCounter. The antitumor effects of several drugs were tested by MTT, including tyrosine kinase, PARP and KRAS inhibitors and chemotherapeutic agents such as cis-platinum or pemetrexed. Results: Primary cultures were attempted from 33 malignant pleural effusions and ascites samples. Cells grew ≥3 passages and were genotyped in 28/33 cases (84%). Eleven primary cultures were pan-negative by NGS, suggesting that they derived either from non-tumor cells or from a minor sub-clone within the tumor. In contrast, 17 primary cultures showed alterations in oncogenes or tumor supressor genes, allelic fractions were ≥70% in 11 cases. Synchronous liquid biopsies or FFPE biopsies were available for the 17 primary cultures; the same genetic alterations were present in all cases. Five primary cultures with drivers at ≥70% allelic fraction (KRAS G12C; ALK and ROS1 fusions; MET and FGFR1 amplifications) were used for MTT assays. In the three cases where the patient was administered the same drugs tested in primary cultures, results were concordant. Conclusions: Primary culture of pleural effusions and ascites can be implemented in the clinical setting with a significant success rate. Drug testing in primary cultures can be of help in treatment selection. Citation Format: Cristina A. Entre 1884 y 1905, bajo la dirección de Francisco P. Moreno el Museo de la Plata tuvo una clara proyección nacional y fue protagonista del desarrollo del conocimiento geográfico y geológico de diferentes partes del país, especialmente de la Patagonia. En 1905 pasó a integrar la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, situación que determinó la renuncia de F. P. Moreno, La dirección fue asumida por el antropólogo S. Lafone Quevedo y el museo fue organizado en varias escuelas, lo cual significaría, en años posteriores, una casi excluyente acción tendiente a su progresiva integración a la docencia. En 1920 fue designado director el arqueólogo L. M. Torres, quien debió retirarse en 1932 debido a problemas de salud. Entre 1906 y 1934, las investigaciones geológicas fueron limitadas y se circunscribieron fundamentalmente al accionar individual de S. Roth y W. Schiller, con algunos aportes de M. Kantor y E. Herrero Ducloux. Roth mayormente completó y publicó resultados de estudios realizados en la época de Moreno, mientras que Schiller hizo contribuciones sobre la geología de la alta cordillera de Mendoza y San Juan, de las Sierras Australes de Buenos Aires y de la región petrolífera de Comodoro Rivadavia, en general respondiendo a iniciativas ajenas al museo. En 1934 se incorporó J. Frenguelli, quien sería Director de la institución entre 1935 y 1946. Durante las décadas de 1930 y 1940 las investigaciones geológicas originadas en el museo adquirieron importancia y se debieron fundamentalmente a Frenguelli y en menor medida a E. Fossa Mancini, a las que se sumaron los aportes paleontológicos que realizó A. Cabrera, a partir de 1925. Las contribuciones de Frenguelli se focalizaron en el Cenozoico superior y en la estratigrafía y las plantas fósiles de los estratos continentales del Paleozoico superior y Mesozoico inferior. Otro de los aportes institucionales importantes fue la formación de numerosos geólogos, los que a partir de la década de 1940 realizaron estudios desde diferentes instituciones y empresas en todo el país. En 1946 se produjo un quiebre a nivel nacional e institucional que significó el desplazamiento de J. Frenguelli, la transformación del Instituto del Museo en Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Museo, con prioridad en la enseñanza, todo lo cual significó en la década de 1950 la pérdida de la continuidad en la investigación y en las publicaciones. La creación de la CIC y el CONICET y la introducción del sistema de dedicación exclusiva a fines de los 50 sentaron condiciones que en la década de 1960 llevarían a un intento de reiniciar investigaciones planificadas en geología y paleontología.

Abstract Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer with 236,740 new cases diagnosed in 2022 in the United States. In this study, we demonstrate the performance of a digital PCR (dPCR) based assay that reports 15 (NCCN) biomarkers using only 1 slide of FFPE tissue. ChromaCode’s High Definition PCR (HDPCR™) NSCLC Tumor Profiling Panel (Research Use Only) detects guideline biomarkers including variants for EGFR, BRAF, KRAS, ERBB2, ALK, ROS1, RET, MET, and NTRK1-3 with a 24 hour turnaround time and a simple PCR workflow. A total of 34 NSCLC FFPE specimens were evaluated using the HDPCR NSCLC Panel. DNA and RNA were extracted from a single 10 µm section of specimen, with a sister section previously characterized with the Oncomine Precision Assay GX. The DNA/RNA eluates (20ng DNA per well, 20ng RNA) were run with the HDPCR NSCLC Panel on the Qiagen QIAcuity dPCR instrument. Data analysis was conducted using ChromaCloud™, which includes a proprietary algorithm that can detect and quantify 6 targets (5 targets and 1 internal control) for each of the 3 wells. DNA samples discordant with the comparator assay were evaluated using the Archer DNA VariantPlex panel, while RNA discordant samples were analyzed using the Archer RNA fusion plex panel. Of the 34 specimens evaluated, 16 SNV, 13 Insertion/Deletion, and 7 fusion positive specimens were identified using NGS. On the dPCR assay, the results show a high-level of agreement, after discordant resolution, of 95.8% across the panel. The minor allele fraction (MAF), also calculated using ChromaCode Cloud, ranged from 5% to 90%. With 20 ng input (Qubit), the average copy number of amplifiable DNA ranged from 791 copies (~2.3 ng) to 6583 copies (~19.9 ng) with a mean of 2410 copies (~7.43 ng). Here we demonstrate that the HDPCR NSCLC Tumor Profiling Panel provides comparable performance to validated NGS assays with a turnaround that enables adherence to guideline-recommended treatment, and a low sample requirement that maximizes the number of patients for molecular testing. The standard protocols used by the assay and the use of a cloud based analysis pipeline enables easy deployment of this assay in any lab. This work presents the design and construction of a laryngoscope model with camera vision that has a vibrating device to alert the medical specialist when the force exerted causes possible damage to the patient's airway during the intubation process. Design and fabrication considerations are described using Cast Material Position (FFD). The design is validated with the use of a high-fidelity simulator, the performance is compared with commercial models and the criteria of specialists are taken into account to improve all the necessary aspects. The model presented a great functional advantage, providing greater patient safety, reducing the risk of exposure of the internal tissue to high forces in the intubation process, facilitating clinical processes for health personnel.
