Abstract:
The significance of Jung's notion of synchronicity and its place in the wider scheme of his psychology is readily underestimated. In this paper, the author suggests that the shift heralded by the emergence of the synchronistic paradigm can be understood as a response to theoretical tensions that can be traced throughout Jung's career.
