This paper points out that [Formula: see text] must dominate over [Formula: see text] despite the fact that the former decay has a smaller phase space available at its disposal compared to that for the latter decay. This is because [Formula: see text] is allowed by both the OZI rule as well as the pseudo-dimension rule whereas [Formula: see text] is allowed by the OZI rule but forbidden by the pseudo-dimension rule. Consequently, the overall status of the former decay is that of an allowed decay and the same for the latter decay is that of a forbidden one. It has also been stressed that Φ(1.68

Abstract We explore the neutrino signals from proton decays catalyzed by GUT monopoles in the Sun. Three typical proton decay modes, p ⟶ e + + (ρ 0, η, ω… ) ⟶ π +, p ⟶ μ + K 0 and p ⟶ ν̅eπ+ , have been analyzed for the Super-Kamiokande experiment. The monopole-induced neutrinos arise from interactions and subsequent decays of the proton decay products. To obtain the neutrino energy spectra, we use the Geant4 software to simulate propagations of daughter particles in the highly-dense solar center. It is found that K 0 can produce a large amount of 236 MeV monoenergetic νμ neutrinos through the

In ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions, the study of muons from kaon (K) and pion (π) decays provides insights into hadron production and propagation in the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP). This paper investigates muon yields from K and π decays in Pb–Pb collisions at sNN=2.76 TeV using a fast simulation method. We employ a fast Monte Carlo procedure to estimate muon yields from charged kaons and pions. The simulation involves generating pions and kaons with uniform pT and y distributions, simulating their decay kinematics via PYTHIA, and reweighting to match the physical spectra. Our results sho

Rare B± decays to three charged kaons are analysed. The weak decay amplitudes are derived in the QCD factorization approach. The strong final state interactions between pairs of kaons are described using the kaon scalar and vector form factors. The scalar form factors at low K+K- effective mass distributions are constrained by chiral symmetry and are related to the coupled channel meson-meson amplitudes describing all the transitions between three channels consisting of two kaons, two pions and four pions. The vector form factors are fitted to the data on e+e- collisions. The model results are

Signal-induced background has a time dependence that distinguishes it from the sources discussed in Chapter 6. These events refer to a progression in which a signal generates a subsequent one, correlated in time to the initial detection. The timescale for correlated background ranges from nanoseconds to days. The earliest signal is a prepulse generated by a photon incident on d1. Late pulses relate to the k-to-d1, and k-to-anode transit time. The next category, the afterpulses, spans ~100 ns to 10 μ‎s, with a peaked time distribution. There is a long-lived source of photons, extending to days
