Abstract:
For a finite group G we study certain rings called k-S-rings, one for each non-negative integer k, where the 1-S-ring is the centralizer ring of G. These rings have the property that the (k+1)-S-ring determines the k-S-ring. We show that the 4-S-ring determines G when G is any group with finite classes. We show that the 3-S-ring determines G for any finite group G, thus giving an answer to a question of Brauer. We show the 2-characters defined by Frobenius and the extended 2-characters of Ken Johnson are characters of representations of the 2-S-ring of G. We find the character table for the 2-

Geometric invariants play a vital role in the field of object recognition where the objects of interest are affected by a group of transformations. Abstract:
An (n, k) configuration is a set of n “points” and n “lines” such that each point lies on k lines and each line contains k points. Motivated by the geometric definition of a group law on non-singular cubic curves, we define the concept of group embeddability of (n, k) configuration C as a mapping g of C into an abelian group G such that a set of k points {P1 , P2 , ..., Pk } are collinear in the configuration C if and only if ∑ g (Pi ) = 0 in the group G. Here we classify the set of all (n, 3) configurations for n ≤ 11 as well as some other notable configurations which can be embedded into a

In 2001, Clementi et al. introduce the k-selective family which can be used to solve this problem. Indyk provides a explicit construction method for the k-selective family in 2002. In this thesis, we first explain Grover's quantum search algorithm. Then we involve the k-selective system with quantum computation to solve the group t

In this paper we find irreducible characters of G=SL(k,Z/p^nZ) where n >= 2, k=2,3 and, p is an odd prime. In the case k=2 we give a construction for every irreducible character of G without calculating the character values. Our method is based on finding a normal subgroup of G and applying Clifford theory.
Mathematics

博士
國立臺灣科技大學
資訊管理系
102
Abstract Clustering is a very popular data analysis and data mining technique. K-means is one of the most popular methods for clustering. Although K-mean is easy to implement and works fast in most situations, it suffers from two major drawbacks, sensitivity to initialization and convergence to local optimum. In order to improve these drawbacks, many studies have been continued to explore new clustering methods in recent years. K-harmonic means clustering is one of them and has been proposed to overcome the first drawback, sensitivity to initialization.

How can movie production companies speak to their potential audience thru movie trailers? Which means do they use and what is the public reception? How does a viewer interpret a movie trailer? What can we learn about viewers from movie trailers? This thesis is offering all the answers to questions mentioned above in two different parts - in the first part the concepts of movie trailers are introduced and explained, the second part analyses the outcomes of a research which studies the affects of movie trailers on potential audience. According to Chinese National Federation of Industries White Paper in 2015, conventional industries in Taiwan are mostly labor-intensive which leads to issues we are facing today, such as management risks, transformation trend, changes in marketplace, and product life cycle shortening. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the characteristics of K fixation in the main groups of soil in Taiwan in order to evaluate their K availabilities. The relative change in the forms and the availabilities of K in the soils could be altered by K fertilization, and the effect of each forms of K on K availability should be determined.
