Kuhn and Moresi (1995) (henceforth, K&M) have proposed a useful taxonomy for classifying prisoners' dilemmas (henceforth, PDs). This comment is concerned with K&M's observation that legal penalties for defection can transform PDs into cooperative games, and their argument that the role of the law may vary depending on how the PD is classified by their taxonomy. The purpose of this note is to support K&M's analysis by demonstrating that the law of damages, as understood by economic analysis, already performs the function that K&M assign to legal penalties for defection.

Crime in Indonesia includes acts that violate the law, social norms and religion which cause economic and psychological losses as well as social tensions in society. Crimes such as theft, violence, fraud and drugs are often triggered by factors such as poverty and environmental conditions that support criminal behavior. This research needs to be carried out to overcome the complex and far-reaching crime problem in Indonesia, especially in Karawang Regency. With crimes such as theft, violence, fraud and drugs on the rise, often fueled by factors such as poverty and environmental conditions, a m

The wealth of a nation is changed by the internal economic growth of a nation and by the international trade among countries. Trade between countries are one of their most important interactions and thus expects to affect crucially the wealth distribution over countries. We reviewed the network properties of the international trade networks (ITN). We analyzed data sets of world trade. The data set include a total number of 190 countries from 1950 to 2000. We observed that the world trade network showed the uneven trading relationships which are measured by the disparity. The effective disparit

In this article, a discussion has been made about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and its impact on Pakistan’s economy. The CPEC project is a collection of infrastructure and development projects that are primarily funded by Chinese investments. The article argues that the CPEC project has the potential to transform Pakistan’s economy, but it is not without its challenges. The political instability and security concerns in the region could potentially undermine the success of the project. The author suggests that China should take a more holistic approach to the CPEC projec

As K-webtoons receive worldwide attention, Korea's status is increasing, and the Korean webtoon industry is also developing. Along with that, however, cybercrime attacking K-webtoons is also on the rise. Until now, the issue of K-webtoon infringement has been dealt with only for copyright infringement. However, from now on, it should be dealt with in terms of economic crime and cybercrime. The problem is that Korean criminal justice has limitations in responding to cybercrime. This is because the current legal system was built on the basis of analog society. Therefore, in this paper, we examin

One of the prevailing themes in Korean novels and dramas is the fractured relationship between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, caused to a great extent by Confucianism, which preaches submissiveness of women to their parents, husbands, and in-laws. Given the tremendous economic, technological, and cultural development of South Korea in the last fifty years, the question that arises is whether family ties have undergone an equal progress. This study aims at identifying whether the matriarch in the Korean household, i.e. the mother-in-law, still holds the reins or whether there is a shift t
