Full textThe mean field game theory was introduced in 2006 by Jean-Michel Lasry and Pierre-Louis Lions. It allows us to study the game theory in some situations where the number of players is too high to be able to be solved in practice. We will study the mean field game theory on graphs by learning from the studies of Oliver Guéant which we will extend to more generalized forms of Hilbertian. We will also study the links between the K-means and the mean field game theory. In principle, this will offer us new algorithms for solving the K-means thanks to the techniques of numerical resolutions of the mean field games. Findly, we will study a mean field game called the "starting time of a meeting". We will extend it to situations where the players can choose between two meetings. We will study analytically and numerically the existence and multiplicity of the solutions to this problem

In this thesis, we study two specific models of supersymmetric gauge theories, namely two-dimensional N=(2,2) gauged linear sigma models (GLSMs) and three-dimensional N=2 Chern-Simons-matter theories. These models have played an important role in quantum field theory and string theory for decades, and generated many fruitful results, improving our understanding of Nature by drawing on many branches in mathematics, such as complex differential geometry, intersection theory, quantum cohomology/quantum K-theory, enumerative geometry, and many others. Specifically, this thesis is devoted to studying their applications in quantum cohomology and quantum K-theory. In the first part of this thesis, we systematically study two-dimensional GLSMs for symplectic and orthogonal Grassmannians, generalizing the study for ordinary Grassmannians. By analyzing the Coulomb vacua structure of the GLSMs for symplectic Grassmannians, we are able to obtain the ordinary and equivariant quantum cohomology for these spaces. A similar methodology applies to 3d Chern-Simons-matter theories and quantum K-theory, for which we propose a new description in terms of shifted Wilson lines.

This means we can infer, from a type's pseudolinearity, the structure of the underlying set; this thesis extends this result to the context of simple theories, allowing us to determine the set's geometry (with several differences to account for the fact that the theory is simple and not stable) if we restrict ourselves to k < 4

Full textAs many theoretical studies point out, the classical description of spacetime, as a continuum, might be no longer adequate to reconcile gravity with quantum mechanics at very high energy (the relevant energy scale being often regarded as the Planck scale). Instead, a more appropriate description could be provided by the data of a noncommutative algebra of coordinate operators replacing the usual commutative local coordinates on smooth manifold. Once the noncommutative nature of spacetime is assumed, it is to expect that the (classical and quantum) properties of field theories on noncommutative background differ from the ones of field theories on classical background. This is the aim of Non-Commutative Field Theory (NCFT) to explore and study these new properties.In the present dissertation, we consider two families of quantum spacetimes of Lie algebra type noncommutativity. The first family is characterised by su(2) noncommutativity and appears in the description of some models of quantum gravity in 3-dimensions. The other family of quantum spacetimes is known in the physics literature as the 4-d kappa-Minkowski space. The importance of this quantum spacetime lies into the fact that its symmetries are provided by the (quantum) kappa-Poincaré algebra (a deformation of the classical Poincaré algebra) together with the fact that the deformation parameter 'kappa', which is of mass dimension, provides a natural energy scale at which the quantum gravity effects may be relevant (and is often regarded as being related to the Planck scale). For these reasons, the kappa-Minkowski space appears as a good candidate for a spacetime to be involved in the description of Doubly Special Relativity and Relative Locality models.To study NCFT it is often convenient to introduce a star product characterising the (noncommutative) C*-algebra of fields modelling the quantum spacetime under consideration. We emphasise that a canonical star product can be obtained by using the group algebraic structures underlying the construction of such Lie algebra type quantum spaces, namely by making use of harmonic analysis on the corresponding Lie group together with the Weyl quantisation scheme. The explicit derivation of such star product for kappa-Minkowski is given. In addition, we show that su(2) Lie algebras of coordinate operators related to quantum spaces with su(2) noncommutativity can be conveniently represented by SO(3)-equivariant poly-differential involutive representations and show that the quantized plane waves obtained from the quantization map action on the usual exponential functions are determined by polar decomposition of operators combined with constraint stemming from the Wigner theorem for SU(2). We finally indicate a convenient way to extend this construction to other semi-simple but non simply connected Lie groups by making use of results from group cohomology with value in an abelian group that would replace the constraints stemming from the simple Wigner theorem.Then, we investigate the quantum properties of various models of interacting scalar field theory on noncommutative background making use of the aforementioned star product formalism to construct physically reasonable expressions for the action functional. Considering quantum spacetime with su(2) noncommutativity, we find that the one-loop 2-point function for complex scalar field theories with quartic interactions is finite, the deformation parameter playing the role of a natural UV cut-off. Special attention is paid to the derivation of the one-loop corrections to both the 2-point and 4-point functions for various models of kappa-Poincaré invariant scalar field theory with quartic interactions. In that case, we show that for some models the 2-point function divergences linearly thus slightly milder than their commutative counterpart, while the one-loop 4-point function is shown to be finite. The results we obtained together with their consequences are finally discussed

Full textMoltes teories de la física moderna es poden formular mitjançant les eines de la geometria diferencial. Com és ben sabut, la geometria simplèctica és el marc natural per treballar amb sistemes mecànics Hamiltonians autònoms. La geometría simplèctica admet diverses generalitzacions que permeten treballar amb sistemes no autònoms i amb teories de camps, tant en el cas regular com en el singular. En aquesta tesi treballarem amb algunes d'aquestes generalitzacions. En els darrers anys l'interés per l'estudi geomètric dels sistemes mecànics dissipatius mitjançant estructures de contacte ha crescut notablement. En aquesta tesi revisem el que s'ha fet sobre aquest tema i anem més enllà, estudiant les seves simetries i quantitats dissipades, i desenvolupant el formalisme mixt lagrangià-hamiltonià (formalisme de Skinner-Rusk) per aquests sistemes. En referència a la teoria de camps, introduïm la noció de varietat k-precosimplèctica i la usem per a descriure geomètricament les teories de camps no autònomes singulars. També desenvolupem un algorisme de lligams per a sistemes k-precosimplèctics. A més, descrivim les teories de camps amb dissipació mitjançant una modificació de la teoria hamiltoniana de camps de De Donder-Weyl. Aquesta descripció combina la geometria de contacte i les estructures k-simplèctiques, obtenint el que anomenem formalisme de k-contacte. També generalitzem el concepte de quantitat dissipada introduint dues nocions de llei de dissipació. Aquests desenvolupaments s'apliquen també a les teories de camps lagrangianes. Donem una descripció completa de la formulació de Skinner-Rusk dels sistemes de k-contacte i veiem com recuperar els formalismes lagrangià i hamiltonià a partir del formalisme mixt. Al llarg de la tesi hem estudiat diversos exemples tant en mecànica com en teoria de camps. Els sistemes mecànics més rellevants són l'oscil·lador harmònic esmorteït, el moviment en un camps gravitatori constant amb fregament, l'equació del paracaigudista i el pèndul simple esmorteït. Per altra banda, en teoria de camps estudiem la corda vibrant esmorteïda, l'equació de Burgers, l'equació de Klein-Gordon i la seva relació amb l'equació del telegrafista, i les equacions de Maxwell de l'electromagnetisme amb dissipació.
