Abstract The Kaczawa Mountains along with the Kaczawa foothill comprise a complicated geological unit that is called the Kaczawa metamorphic (Sudetes, SW Poland). The aim of our work was to identify the iron-bearing minerals in samples of basalts and pillow lavas from the Kaczawa metamorphic using 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy. Based on the preliminary results, the Fe3+/Fe2+ ratio in the samples was determined.

Physiol. 82(5): 1531–1541, 1997.—The contribution of airway resistance (Raw) and tissue resistance (Rti) to total lung resistance (R l ) during breathing in humans is poorly understood. We have recently developed a method for separating Raw and Rti from measurements of Rland lung elastance (El) alone. In nine healthy, awake subjects, we applied a broad-band optimal ventilator waveform (OVW) with energy between 0.156 and 8.1

The current situation of the Polish language in Carpathian BukovinaThe use and the state of preservation of the Polish language in Carpathian Bukovina is very diverse for a number of reasons. There are villages in which it is not only spoken in the family domain by people invited to take part in this study, but also serves as the basic code of communication in public space: all local residents, including those of origin other than Polish, know it. This is the case in Nyzhni Petrivtsi, Pleşa, Poiana Micului, Stara Krasnoshora, Soloneţu Nou and Terebleche. In turn, the town of Rădăuți and such v

Chełmiec is a hydrothermal vein-type carbonate-sulphide deposit in the Kaczawa Mountains, where polymetallic Cu-Ni±Co±Ag±Bi mineralization occurs. Samples, collected from an old dump of the Hintermühlergang vein, were studied by reflected light microscopy and electron microprobe. Two mineral parageneses, Ni-Co±Bi and Cu-Zn-Pb±Sb±Ag, associated with two stages of precipitation, were discovered in samples from the Chełmiec deposit. The first stage is associated with quartz, and is represented by pyrite, arsenopyrite, gersdorffite, cobaltite, bismuth minerals (native Bi, bismuthinite, and matildi
