Abstract:

In 1633 the armies of Wallenstein and the united armies of Saxony, Brandenburg and Sweden met in front of the city of Schweidnitz. Instead of fighting a battle, a truce was agreed on August 22. On this day, one of the Protestants’ hopes, Prince Ulrich of Denmark, fell victim to an attack. And in the enclosed city hunger and plague raged for weeks. How these two events were treated or even ignored in contemporary newsletters, and how poets interpreted the events, is presented here. Analyzed texts stem from Daniel Czepko and the Lutheran preacher Friedrich Scholtz, who wrote an epic poem in honor of Schweidnitz.

The article introduces the texts of the Kalmyk (Oirat) manuscripts kept at the Russian National Library in Saint Petersburg in the Fund No. 918 (“Kalmyk manuscripts. New series. Meeting»). The collection of Oirat manuscripts includes “Vadzhrachkhedika Pradzhnya-paramita Sutra”, “The History of White Tara”, “Altn Gerl Nertya Nomin Khurangu Orshv”, prayer-repentance “Tsogt Zandn Orshv”, etc. The article gives the transliteration the manuscript of the letter of the Kalmyk Khan Ayuki to the Astrakhan Governor P. M. Apraksin, translated into the modern Kalmyk language and translated into Russian. The introduction of the transliteration and translation into modern Kalmyk of these manuscripts will contribute greatly to the research of the Kalmyk written culture.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of football game on technics skills of 19-23 year old boys in special education school. 10 male students participated as volunteers in the study and these mentally disabled football players are from in Kayseri and aged between 19 and 23. Ten male students participated in the football game activity for 3 days a week and total 6 weeks as the experimental group.In the study volunteers performed the slalom with ball test, bouncing ball on the foot and kick to 16.5 meters. In the study, bouncing ball on the foot test were statistically significant (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference slalom with ball test and kick to 16.5 meters. (p> 0.05). This result suggests that participation in football games positively affects some skill learning in the football.Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı, özel eğitim okullarında eğitim görmekte olan 19-23 yaş erkek eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli bireylerin, haftada 3 gün uygulanan futbol etkinliğinin futbolda teknik becerilere etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Çalışmaya, Kayseri’de özel eğitim kurumunda eğitim gören eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli, yaşları 19-23 arasında değişen 10 erkek öğrenci gönüllü olarak katılmıştır.Katılımcılar 6 hafta boyunca haftada 3 gün futbol oyunu yapmışlar 1. ve 6. hafta sonucu ölçüm değerleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışmada bireylere, slalom testinde 16,5m alan içerisinde, aralarında 1,5m aralık bulunan 10 tane engel aralarından topla birlikte slalom şeklinde geçmelri istendi. Top sektirme testinde çapı 1.80cm olan alanda ayakları üzerinde üçer hakkını kullanarak ve daire dışına taşmadan top sektirmeleri istenen aday, kaleye şut testinde ise kaleyi karşı taraftan gören 16,5m uzaklıktan kaleye istedikleri şekilde toplamda altı adet şut atışı uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan bu testlerden top sektirme testi anlamlı bulundu (p<0.05). Slalom ve şut testlerinde ise anlamlı fark görülmedi (p>0.05).Sonuç olarak, futbol oyunu yapan eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli bireylerin futbol oyunundaki teknik becerilerinden bazıları üzerine olumlu etkiler olduğu düşünülmektedir.

Abstract:

The article analyzes the gender differences in children upbringing in the Kalmyk traditional society. The Kalmyk children upbringing system was determined by the nomad way of living and distinctive household culture. A family was a bearer of the ethnic and cultural traditions and customs. A significant role in the development of moral values of the Kalmyk people was given to religious views, Buddhism in particular, which was the dominating factor in the shaping of the mentality and spiritual culture of the Kalmyk ethnos. Kalmyk children as a rule were brought up in traditional patriarchal families with the distinct gender differentiation. Since the old days, the task of every Kalmyk family was to bring up a real man, who was the breadwinner and owner, who had an indisputable authority in the family. The upbringing of a daughter was the responsibility of a mother who in compliance with the national traditions had to teach her daughter all the skills of being a good housewife. The Kalmyk national customs were not strict towards women compared to the traditions of other Oriental nations. A woman was well regarded in the Kalmyk society.

Abstract:

Goals. The paper studies a manuscript monograph by Ts.-D. Nominkhanov titled ‘Orthography of the New Kalmyk Literary Language’ (December 25, 1932) and contained in the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Materials. The work investigates sections and subsections of the monograph, namely: ‘Preface’ narrating about areas of residence and dialects of Kalmyk ethnic groups; ‘Old Script Orthography’ supplemented with a Latinized Jangar epic excerpt (alphabet of the 1930s) illustrating Zaya Pandita’s spelling patterns; ‘Spelling of Russified Kalmyk Script’ providing an excerpt from the Latinized spelling-book (Russ. Светлый путь), and reviews decisions of the February 1928 Kalmyk transcription and orthography development meeting; ‘Latinized Script Orthography’ introduces spelling patterns adopted by 1931 Moscow and Elista-based scientific conferences. Results. Prof. Ts. Nominkhanov concluded that the Latinized alphabet of the 1930s based on Zaya Pandita’s spelling could not meet the then needs of orthography. According to him, a scientifically unified Kalmyk literary language was to be based on the development of all Kalmyk dialects through their free interaction towards foundations of the Torghut dialect for further assimilation of different spelling subtleties and final enrichment the Kalmyk language proper. To facilitate this, he proposed that certain measures be undertaken, such as publication of a scientifically reasoned spelling book, organization of consistent academic studies in Kalmyk orthography and existing Kalmyk dialects at large, establishment of a central body that would check all manuscripts against orthographic, grammatical and other regulations introduced prior to publication. Conclusions. The study shall expand the source base on the history of the Kalmyk language and Prof. Ts.-D. Nominkhanov’s scientific heritage, and can be used for further research and educational purposes.

Abstract:

The article addresses written evidence of the Russian-Kalmyk relations in the early 18th century. It is to introduce into scientific use new documentary sources belonging that period when the epistolary written tradition of the Kalmyk nobility was at its apogee. While studying these sources, not only a brief historical description of the period has been provided, but also methods of paleographic identification of manuscripts and archaeographic analysis of the monuments of Old Kalmyk writing have been used. The article publishes transliteration, translation, and two copies of the original letters of Kalmyk Khan Ayuka: one addressed to the Emperor Peter Alekseevich, another to the Chancellor Gavriil Ivanovich Golovkin. Both letters have been found in the Kalmyk Affairs Foundation of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts. The letters were delivered to Moscow by the Kalmyk embassy led by Hojim (1714). Until now their contents have remained unknown to the wide array of researchers. The documents contain information on the difficult situation on the Russo-Turkish frontier after the signing of the Adrianople Peace Treaty in 1713. Participation of the 20,000 Kalmyk cavalry in the Kuban campaign against the Nogais (1711) incited the latter to retaliate. Kalmyk areas on the Lower Volga were constantly threatened the Kuban Nogais, which forced Ayuka Khan to ask for Russian military assistance. A distinctive feature of these sources is the fact that they are written in the old-Kalmyk writing “Todo bichig” (“clear writing”) and end with a red square stamp granted to Ayuka Khan by Dalai Lama VI in 1698. The letters are phrased in the traditional epistolary genre typical of the official correspondence of the Kalmyk nobility of the time: despite their brevity, they brim with truth, life, dynamism, and tension. Further identification and investigation of the Kalmyk letters in the Russian archives should be a comprehensive effort of various specialists, thus setting a promising trend in the scholarship.

Kalkon (1,3-difenil-2-propene-1-on) adalah salah satu senyawa golongan flavonoid yang memiliki beragam aktivitas biologis diantaranya sebagai antikanker. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek sitotoksik analog kalkon (E)-3-(4-metoksifenil)-1-fenilprop-2-en-1-on dengan menggunakan teknik komputerisasi (docking), senyawa analog kalkon tersebut disintesis menggunakan reaksi kondensasi Claisen-Schmidt dengan katalis basa secara metode iradiasi gelombang mikro. Studi in silico ini dilakukan antara senyawa kalkon dengan protein dengan kode PDB ID P521 dengan menggunakan program AutoDock Vina, sedangkan uji aktivitas sitotoksik senyawa kalkon dilakukan terhadap sel kanker payudara MCF-7 menggunakan metode WST-8. Berdasarkan hasil docking, senyawa kalkon (E)-3-(4-metoksifenil)-1-fenilprop-2-en-1-on memiliki potensi sebagai penghambat aktif terhadap sel kanker payudara MCF-7 ditandai dengan senyawa ini memiliki nilai energi bebas ikatan yang lebih kecil dibandingkan doxorubicin sebagai pembanding; memiliki 4 persamaan asam amino dengan doxorubicin dimana interaksi yang terbentuk terdiri dari 4 jenis ikatan yaitu ikatan hidrogen, ikatan van der Waals, ikatan pi-sigma dan ikatan pi –alkil. Dari hasil uji sitotoksik antara sel kanker MCF-7 dan senyawa kalkon diperoleh nilai IC50 sebesar 48,18 µg/mL. Dari penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa senyawa analog kalkon (E)-3-(4-metoksifenil)-1-fenilprop-2-en-1-on dapat berpotensi sebagai inhibitor terhadap sel kanker payudara MCF-7

Introduction. The paper provides insight into archival sources and shows the development of Kalmykia’s party-Soviet print media during the 1920s and 1930s. Kalmyk Party Organization tended to keep a strong focus on the growth of mass media in the region. So, before 1926 there was only one newspaper in Kalmyk Oblast ― Ulan Khal’mg (Kalm. ‘Red Kalmyk’), while that very year proper witnessed the emergence of multiple periodicals, such as Krasnaya step’ (Russ. ‘Red Steppe’), Kalmytskie izvestiya (Russ. ‘Kalmyk News’), journals Vestnik Kalmytskogo obkoma VKP(b) (Russ. ‘Newsletter of Kalmyk Oblast VKP(b) Committee’), Za rabotu (Russ. ‘Down to Work’), etc. Goals. The study seeks to clarify the impacts of Kalmyk Oblast Party Organization on the development of regional print media. Materials and Methods. The article analyzes multiple ― and authentic ― documents stored at the National Archive of Kalmykia (Party Collection), key research principles being those of objectivity and historicism. Results. The work concludes that issues of print media’s development were regularly discussed at Party conferences, plenums, and meetings of Kalmyk Oblast Party Committee. The latter’s Bureau would employ experienced journalists to strengthen republican and district-level newspapers. The published books and brochures were summarizing political, organizational, and ideological experiences of party organizations. Kalmyk- and Russian-language newspapers and journals were tightening ties between the Party and people, which facilitated an easier implementation of state policies. Thus, print media were used by the Party and its agencies as a means of political mobilization and education.

Abstract:

The aim of this research was to examine the application of turkey forage processing technology to the productivity of the turkey. The materials observed were turkey in Undaan District, the feed ingredients were CP 511 commercial feed, forage in the form of water hyacinth, and rice bran. The research method uses descriptive quantitative method. Sampling was done by purposive random sample to represent the area of the area used as the research site (15 breeders in 1 district). The research parameters included the application of forage processing technology at the level of the turkey farmer and the productivity of the turkey. The results showed that the turkey breeders in Undaan sub-district on average used mechanical forage processing. Processing of forage is carried out using a machine or manually with a knife. Forage turkey feed in the form of water hyacinth before being given to chopped livestock, then added with concentrate and bran in a ratio of 6: 1: 3. Mixing is done manually in a bucket with a capacity of 40 liters. The conclusion of thus research was that mechanical processing technology in the form of chopping can facilitate the mixing of feed and increase feed consumption thereby increasing the productivity of turkey.

Abstract:

This paper considers the impact of additives on the properties of mortar. For investigation purposes, two types of Portland cement (CEM II/A-LL 42.5 N and CEM I N (MA)), fine aggregate sand, lime, water and air-entraining and stabilizing additives were used. To determine the effects of additives on the mortar mix, the analysis of cone penetration into the mix, mortar mobility, water extraction out of mortar, density and flexural and compressive testing were conducted. When put into mortar, air-entraining and stabilizing additives changed structure. In this case, density and flexural and compressive strength of mortar are reduced. Santrauka Darbe nagrinėjamas priedo poveikis statybinio skiedinio savybėms. Tyrimams buvo naudojami dviejų rūšių portlandcementis (klinties portlandcementis CEM II/A-LL 42,5 N ir portlandcementis be mineralinių priedų CEM I 42,5 N), smulkusis užpildas smėlis, kalkės, vanduo ir priedas: orą įtraukiantis ir stabilizuojantis. Buvo atlikti šviežio skiedinio savybių tyrimai: kūgio įsmigimo į skiedinio mišinį, skiedinio pasklidimo, skiedinio mišinio vandens išsiskyrimo, šviežio skiedinio tankio ir sukietėjusio skiedinio lenkimo ir gniuždymo stiprumo tyrimai. Rezultatai parodė, kad daugiausia vandens reikia sunaudoti ruošiant skiedinius su portlandcemenčiu be priedo, o mažiausiai – su priedu. Paaiškėjo, kad skiedinių su mišriąja rišamąja medžiaga (portlandcementis su kalkių tešla) sklidumas yra didžiausias. Įdėjus priedo į skiedinį susidaro smulkios tolygiai pasiskirsčiusios poros ir sumažėja tankis. Tokiu atveju skiedinio bandinių lenkimo ir gniuždymo stipris yra mažesnis.

Abstract:

Senyawa kalkon dan turunannya dikenal memiliki berbagai aktivitas farmakologis, salah satunya adalah aktivitas antibakteri. Aktivitas ini, sangat dipengaruhi oleh jenis subtituen yang terikat serta letak subtituen tersebut pada struktur senyawa kalkon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan sintesis senyawa kalkon dengan karakteristik subtituen dimetilamino pada ring B di posisi para ((E)-3-(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-one) serta melakukan uji aktivitas antibakteri senyawa kalkon terhadap isolat bakteri kontaminan produk darah. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri difokuskan terhadap isolat bakteri yang berasal dari produk darah, dikarenakan penggunaan isolat bakteri produk darah untuk pengujian antibakteri masih belum banyak digunakan, umumnya bakteri uji yang digunakan adalah isolat bakteri ATCC. Metode pengujian aktivitas antibakteri yang digunakan adalah metode difusi kertas cakram, aktivitas antibakteri senyawa kalkon diketahui melalui terbentuknya zona bening di sekitar kertas cakram yang disebut zona hambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Senyawa kalkon (E)-3-(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-one berhasil disintesis melalui reaksi kondensasi, dimana diperoleh padatan kristal berwarna kuning dengan rendemen sebesar 81,67%. Hasil uji aktivitas senyawa kalkon pada beberapa bakteri kontaminan produk darah menunjukkan bahwa senyawa ini memiliki aktivitas cukup baik dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan zona hambat mencapai 8,9 mm pada konsentrasi 25 ppm.

The source materials are related records stored at the National Archive of Kalmykia (Coll. И-36). The Register of Kalmyk Affairs contains dispatches and reports by the Governor of Astrakhan, A. Volynsky, clustered under the title ‘About Actual Disagreements and Feuds of Kalmyk Landlords’. The employed historical comparative method makes it possible to specify a chronicle of events on the basis of coinciding events described by all or most of the investigated sources. Results. The 1723 feuds between young Kalmyk princely heirs, Khan Ayuka’s death in 1724, and the unsettled order of succession paved the path for Kazakh and Karakalpak invasions of eastern Kalmyk-inhabited territories between the Volga and the Yaik (Ural) Rivers. Conclusions. Despite the actual political factionalism across the Kalmyk Khanate, eastern landlords headed by Dorji Nazarov were able to repel the aggression of hostile groups. The 1724 battle of the Uzen which ended in a defeat of a small Kazakh-Karakalpak unit had important military and political consequences conveying the message that even amidst the lack of solidarity between Kalmyk noblemen any invasion of their lands should turn an essentially arduous task. However, the successful local engagement of the Volga Kalmyks could not stop the subsequent eastward expansion of Kazakhs.

Senyawa (E)-3-(2-hidroksifenil)-1-(3’-metoksifenil)prop-2-en-1-on disintesis dengan metode iradiasi gelombang mikro dan menggunakan katalis basa KOH. Struktur senyawa kalkon dikarakterisasi berdasarkan interpretasi data spektroskopi UV, IR, 1H-NMR, dan MS. Uji toksisitas senyawa kalkon ditentukan dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test dan menunjukkan aktivitas dengan nilai LC50 yaitu 186,48 μg/mL. Senyawa ini menunjukkan aktivitas toksisitas yang baik karena nilai LC50 < 200 μg/mL.

The article is devoted to the study of one of the most important problems of modern historical science - the history of the formation of the Russian multinational state. Special attention is paid to the comparative analysis of the state and political statuses of the national autonomies of Russia - the Kalmyk Khanate and the Hetman's Ukraine. The statehood of the Kalmyk nomads arose after their entry into the Russian state in the first half of the 17th century. It is shown that the nature of the Russian-Kalmyk relations during this period makes it possible to define them as a protectorate of Russia over the Kalmyk uluses. The article examines the formation of the Russian-Kalmyk interaction, the evolution of the status, territorial framework and geopolitical position of the Kalmyk Khanate. At the beginning of the second quarter of the 18th century. After the Kazakhs of the Younger Zhuz migrated to Emba, the Kalmyk lands partially lost their border status and began to increasingly resemble the inner territory of the Russian Empire. A gradual transformation of political autonomy into administrative one begins. The article describes the main features of the autonomy of the Kalmyk Khanate in the period of the 17th - early 18th centuries: the preservation of the traditional administrative structure, the concentration of administrative, judicial, legislative and fiscal power in the hands of the secular elite, the inheritance of the supreme power in the Torgout dynasty. The paper determines that the new geopolitical status of the Kalmyk Khanate after the second quarter of the 17th century also changed the state policy in relation to it - the system of government of the khanate was unified, political independence was eliminated, the khanate was being integrated into the general imperial administrative and political system. The restrictive policy of Russia in relation to the Kalmyk Khanate, the government's interference in the hereditary question contributed to the beginning of the political fragmentation of the Khanate in the second half of the 20s - the first half of the 30s of the 18th century, political crises of the second half of the 18th century, and the crisis of 1771. The material presented in the article makes it possible to highlight general patterns in the political status of the Kalmyk Khanate and Ukraine in the 17-18th centuries.

Introduction. Soviet Kalmykia’s historiography comprises quite a cluster of publications to have dealt with the shaping and development of the ethnic statehood. Such works primarily focus on preparatory and constitutive activities, economic beginnings. However, the formation of Kalmyk Autonomous Oblast’s territory and population have been covered by separate papers only fragmentarily. Goals. The study aims at investigating Kalmykia’s border-related problems and migrations of dispersed Kalmyk groups towards the region. In order to facilitate this, the article shall explore why territorial and border-related issues turned essentially difficult tasks and how the problems were being solved, describe the roadmap of the Kalmyk Oblast Executive Committee to comprehensively tackle the emerged territorial and migration challenges. Materials and Methods. The paper centers around archival sources, quite a share of the latter being thus newly introduced into scientific discourse. The key methods employed are those of comparativism and source analysis. Results. According to the nationalities policy set forth by the Bolsheviks in 1920, the Soviet Government granted the Kalmyk people an ethnic statehood in the form of an administrative autonomy within the latter’s historical territory — Kalmyk Steppe. Once the autonomy was established, its territory and borders were determined in accordance with the then state policies and without any essential dissents from neighboring provinces. Migrations of minor Kalmyk groups to the autonomous oblast were supported by the Government and encountered no resistance, except for disputes between the Salsk Okrug Executive Committee and that of Kalmyk Autonomous Oblast over the territorial issue when it came to the resettlement of Salsk Kalmyks. The prolonged mutual tension resulted in the establishment of Kalmytsky (‘Kalmyk’) District within Salsk Okrug of North Caucasus Krai.

AbstractThe anti-religious campaigns of the Soviet Union in the 1930s eradicated Kalmyk Buddhism from the public sphere. Following perestroika the Kalmyks retain a sense of being an essentially Buddhist people. Accordingly, the new Kalmyk government is reviving the religion with the building of temples and the attempted training of Kalmyk monks, yet monasticism is proving too alien for young post-soviets. According to traditional Kalmyk Gelug Buddhism authoritative Buddhist teachers must be monks, so monastic Tibetans from India have been invited to the republic to help revive Buddhism. The subsequent labelling by these monks of 'surviving' Kalmyk Buddhist practices as superstitious, mistaken or corrupt is an initial step in the purification of alternate views, leading to religious reform. This appraisal of historical practices is encouraged by younger Kalmyks who do not find sense in surviving Buddhism but are enthused with the philosophical approach taught by visiting Buddhist teachers at Dharma centres. By discussing this post-Soviet shift in local notions of religious efficacy, I show how the social movements of both reform and revival arise as collusion between contemporary Tibetan and Kalmyk views on the nature of true Buddhism.

Currently a number of studies on Kalmyk toponymy have been carried out, materials for which were geographical maps, historical and fictional literature, information from informants. However, until now, no attempt has been made to study toponyms based on materials from archival documents of the 17th – 19th centuries (the period of the old-written Kalmyk language functioning). Archival documents, which have the exact date of compilation, provide valuable linguistic material for the study of Kalmyk place names in diachrony, allow studying the process of phonetic adaptation of foreign language toponyms in the Kalmyk language. Old texts contain not only names familiar to the modern generation, but also forgotten, unknown Kalmyk toponyms, which will complement the range of the studied material. The purpose of this article is to identify place names in the letters of Ayuki Khan and their historical and linguistic analysis. This article is based on the letters of Ayuki Khan, one of the most famous rulers of the Kalmyk Khanate, written in the period from 1685 to 1724 to representatives of the Russian administration. The letters are kept in the funds of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts and the National Archives of the Republic of Kalmykia.

Senyawa 2’-hidroksi-4’,6’-dimetoksikalkon telah dilaporkan memiliki aktivitas antikanker yang sangat baik dan bersifat selektif, yaitu hanya aktif mematikan sel kanker namun tidak mematikan sel normal. Aktivitas senyawa 2’-hidroksi-4’,6’-dimetoksikalkon yang baik terhadap sel kanker diharapkan juga bekerja pada bakteri. Penggunaan alkohol sebagai desinfektan pada proses aftap memberi resiko lisis darah, sehingga diperlukan senyawa kimia yang efektif sebagai antibakteri namun minim resiko melisiskan darah. Aktivitas antibakteri senyawa kalkon diuji menggunakan metode difusi agar dengan sumuran, zona bening yang terbentuk disekitar sumuran menunjukan aktivitas senyawa kalkon dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Pada penelitian ini seluruh larutan kalkon dalam variasi konsentrasi 2; 4; 8; 10; dan 20 % tidak menunjukkan aktivitas penghambatan pertumbuhan bakteri, sedangkan pada sumuran yang diisi padatan kristal kalkon menunjukkan zona bening sekitar 1 mm sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa senyawa 2’-hidroksi-4’,6’-dimetoksikalkon tidak memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri.

Abstract:

In order to more clearly present the processes, which taking place in Russian society, for a clearer assessment of the situation of national republics within the Russian Federation, it is necessary to turn to the historical and legal development of separate nations within Russia. Changes in the system of government of Russia, the emergence of new socio-economic, political, spiritual and cultural problems necessitate the development of new forms of cooperation between the regions and the federal center. The search for a better model of state administration of the regions pay our attention to the historical and legal development of public administration institutions in Kalmykia in the 17th-19th centuries. In this regard, we can turn to the experience of the development of Kalmyk society within Russia, namely the development of institutions of public authority and management of Kalmyk society. Since the formation of the Kalmyk Khanate within Russia, the central government practically did not interfere in the internal affairs of the Khanate. Gradually, the Russian government began to intervene in the choice of the head of the Khanate, in the settlement of disputes between the nobility. Further, Russian government officials appear in the Kalmyk steppe, submitting to central and local government bodies. As a result by the middle of the XIX century, a system of bailiffs was formed, and then the system of guardianship by the Kalmyk people, which practically eliminated national governance, transferring the functions of exercising public authority to the Russian authorities. At the same time, the Russian government adopted several regulatory legal acts aimed at improving public administration of the Kalmyk society. In addition, ministry officials and the administration of the Astrakhan province developed a number of projects to reform the management system, taxation and judicial system in the Kalmyk steppe, which were never accepted for various reasons, but which were important for improving the management of the Kalmyk society. A number of projects were developed in connection with reforms in Russia in the 60s-70s of the 19th century and therefore, changes were needed to manage the Kalmyk people. The implementation of reforms, among other things, interfered with the dependence of common Kalmyks on noyons and zaisangs, which was abolished only in 1892. This reform freed noyons from managing ulus, and zaisang from managing aimags. In addition, taxation of the Kalmyk people was reorganized, which continued into the beginning of the 20th century. Subordinating Kalmykia to the Ministry of the Interior in 1902, the government reorganized the administrative-territorial structure, but further transformations in Kalmyk society were suspended by the world war and the revolutionary events of 1917.

Abstract:

Introduction. The paper deals with different conditional constructions in Buryat and Kalmyk. Traditionally, the main way to express the conditional meaning in Mongolic languages is a non-finite clause with a converb (there are the conditional form on -bal in Buryat and Khalkha and new marker -xla in Kalmyk). Alongside with it, there are some new conditional constructions with connectives, with conjunction-like markers herbee in Buryat and Khalkha and kemər in Kalmyk co-occurring with a form of conditional converb. The language contact approach presupposes that connectives as well as a structural pattern with a conjunction are frequently borrowed from dominant languages. Thus, the research question of the paper is how to explain the new conditional construction. Results. In particular, the paper discusses the distribution of different types of conditional construction according to the data from Buryat and Kalmyk corpora. It suggests that conjunction-like markers herbee ‘if’ in Buryat and kemər ‘if’ in Kalmyk may be viewed as grammatical interference from Russian. Nevertheless, the form of conditional converb gixlä developing to a connective in Kalmyk is grammaticalized among other forms of the verb gi- ‘say’ and its grammaticalization of a verb of saying to marker of a conditional clause is frequent cross-linguistically.

Introduction. The article examines spatial uses of the postposition деер in the Kalmyk language. The semantic system of postpositions that form postpositional constructions comprises a complex area of various relations. A remarkable place in the Mongolic languages is occupied by spatial meanings of postpositions, the postposition деер being a most common and productive one therein. Goals. The research aims to describe spatial meanings of the postposition деер in the Kalmyk language. Materials. The work analyzes data selected from various dictionaries, literary and journalistic texts included in the National Corpus of the Kalmyk Language, Kalmyk National Corpus, and the Kalmyk Digital Library. Results. This postposition is mentioned in all dictionaries of Mongolic languages and is a most common and productive lexical unit. It expresses a wide variety of relations resulting from its syntactic ties: spatial, temporal, comitative, target, and quantitative-restrictive values. Along with concrete, real relations this postposition in various speech situations acquires additional, sometimes very abstract meanings based its core seme. The spatial meanings of the postposition деер in the Kalmyk language are considered in detail. In addition to its main meaning — location or movement on the surface — this postposition indicates movement or performing an action over the surface of an object without reaching contact, in close vicinity, near a landmark, and also shows the direction of action. This postposition can express ‘event space’. Conclusions. The analysis of spatial relations expressed by the postposition деер shows a variety of transmitted meanings in various speech situations, as well as features of its use in the Kalmyk language.

ABSTRAKLeucocytozoon adalah parasite genus protozoa yang termasuk dalam filum Apicomplexa yang menginfeksi species unggas. Leucocytozoonosis merupakan salah satu penyakit yang masih sering muncul pada ayam. Angka kematian pada ayam pedaging bisa mencapai 40%. Meskipun kasus penyakit ini lebih banyak ditemukan di peternakan ayam pedaging, bukan berarti ayam petelur dan kalkun dapat lolos dari infeksi parasit ini. Kasus Leucocytozoonosis pada ayam petelur dan kalkun jarang terjadi, namun jika Leucocytozoonosis menyerang, angka kematian bisa mencapai 30%. Hal tersebut juga menyebabkan peningkatan nilai FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio) dan penurunan produksi telur. Dalam penelitian ini diambil sampel darah dari kalkun betina berumur 2 tahun. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa kalkun terinfeksi protozoa Leucocytozoon sp. Pengobatan pada unggas dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian chloroquine, trimethoprim, sulphaquinoxaline, dan primaquine serta menjaga kebersihan kandang.

Introduction. In the genre system of Kalmyk poetry, the literary fable appeared in the 1930s. When it came to master the genre, Kalmyk poets mainly focused on the traditions of Russian fable of the 19th–20th centuries, primarily on I. A. Krylov’s works which they eagerly translated. The Kalmyk authors were the least likely to rely on traditions of Eastern literature — whether Indian, Tibetan, or Oirat Mongolian — since those sources written in Tibetan, Classical Mongolian and Clear Script (Kalm. todo bichiq) were virtually unavailable to them, and not all poets had knowledge of the scripts. National folklore, including myths, animal tales, household tales, aphoristic poetry (proverbs, sayings, riddles), to a certain extent contributed to the creation of plots and motifs, a gallery of images ― people and the animal world ― in the Kalmyk literary fable. The appeal to the fable was determined by the tasks of cultural construction in Kalmykia, the satirical possibilities of the genre designed to scourge social vices and human shortcomings, contribute to the correction of morals, facilitate education of a person in the new society. Attention to the fable in 20th-century Kalmyk poetry was not that universal and constant, by the end of the century it was no longer in demand and never revived further. The Kalmyk literary fable has been little studied so far, with the exception of several recent articles by R. M. Khaninova, which determines the relevance of this study. Goals. The article aims to study zoopoetics of text of the animalistic fable in Kalmyk poetry of the past century through examples of selected works by Khasyr Syan-Belgin, Muutl Erdniev, Garya Shalburov, Basang Dordzhiev, Timofey Bembeev, and Mikhail Khoninov. Methods. The work employs a number of research methods, such as the historical literary, comparative, and descriptive ones. Results. The animalistic fable is not the leading one in the general genre system of Kalmyk poetry of the past century, including among fables with human characters. It usually includes characters of the steppe fauna whose figurative characteristics are manifested in Kalmyk folklore. The social satire and political orientation of the fables are actualized by modern reality, actual international situation and events. The paper reveals a relationship between the animal fable and — Kalmyk folklore and the Russian fable tradition. Most of the fables have not yet been translated into Russian. Conclusions. The genre definition is not always specified by the authors, a moral usually concludes each quatrain-structured narrative. Genre scenes, monologues, and dialogues contribute to an in-depth reading of the context, symbolism of images, and semantic code.

Abstract:

The article gives the description of the manuscript notebook “Proverbs and Sayings of the Don Kalmyks” from the collection of the collector of Kalmyk folklore Ivan Ivanovich Popov, that is kept at the State Archive of Rostov region. I. I. Popov recorded different genres of Kalmyk folklore — fairy tales, riddles, proverbs, ‘true stories’, one song from the heroic Kalmyk epos “Jangar” and some fairy tales. The folklore samples, recorded in 1890–1894, after 125 years have not been described and fully introduced into the science. Proverbs and sayings of Don Kalmyks are one of these underinvestigated genres of the Kalmyk folklore tradition recorded by I. I. Popov. The study gives preliminary description of the samples of this genre. It has been found out that the manuscript is incomplete, some pages are missing. The specific features of recording oral texts by I. I.Popov are: the folklore samples are recorded in the Old-Kalmyk script “clear script” and in Cyrillic alphabet (with the use of additional symbols), the author gives parallel Russian translation and also extensive comments, rating and the records of variations.

Abstract:

The article describes the Kalmyk – Belorussian literary ties that started in September 1940 when the writers from Belarus Philip Pestrak and Maksim Tank participated in the celebration of 500th anniversary of the Kalmyk heroic epos Jangar. These contacts actively developed at the end of 1950s due to the initiative of the poet from Belarus Petrusya Brovka and a Kalmyk writer Mikhail Khaninov. The publications of works and translations of Kalmyk and Belorussian writers appeared in the press of both republics, Kalmyk translations of the poems by the classics of Belorussian poetry Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas were published in Elista, Belorussian translation of the poems by Mikhail Khaninov and David Kugultinov were published in Minsk, literary evenings were organized. The succession of generation in 1980s led to a thirty year break in this dialogue of culture which was reestablished in the new millennium on the Post-Soviet space. The publication exchange, new translations of the poetry, prose and drama, participation in the book exhibitions, “A Writer and the Time” symposium, ‘round tables’ contribute to the activation of the creative powers of both nations.

Abstract:

The meat qualities of rams of Kalmyk fat tail breed and crossbreeds (1/2 Kalmyk fat tail fat + 1/2 Dorper) in rapid fattening were studied. It has been established that cross-breeding young animals bred by crossing sheep of the Kalmyk fat tail breed with sheep of the Dorper breed have increased growth energy and are significantly higher than purebred peers of the Kalmyk fat tail breed. The live weight of crossbones (1/2 Kalmyk fat tail + 1/2 Dorper) was 6.19 kg more at the age of four months, 11.18 kg more at the age of six months than that of purebred peers. Cross-breeding animals had higher indices of elongation, pectorality, and massiveness, while pure-bred animals of the Kalmyk breed were characterized by higher indices of long-legged and overgrown. The cross-cut rams had high slaughter and meat qualities. After fattening, they significantly exceeded the purebred peers in terms of pre-slaughter live weight by 11.07 kg, by weight of chilled carcass by 5.37 kg, by slaughter weight by 5.18 kg, and by weight of pulp in the carcass by 4.86 kg and by the area of the “muscle eye” - by 3.54 cm2. The young meat products were of high quality. The mass of cuts of the first grade in absolute and relative terms is greater in the carcasses of crossbred rams.
