A new species of the species rich Asian perlid genus Kamimuria Klapálek, K. peppapiggia sp. n. from Henan Province of northwestern China, is described based on the male, female, larva, and egg. Relationship with congeners are discussed based on morphological characters. The new species is a possible remnant of the once diverse lowland aquatic fauna of the North China Plain.

Additional specimens of Neoperla caii Li & Wang, 2017 are recorded from Sichuan Province of southwestern China. Morphological variation in the adult male is discussed and illustrated. The adult female of N. caii is described and illustrated for the first time. In addition, a new species, Kamimuria petasus sp. nov. is described from Sichuan Province. The adult male of this new species is characterized by subtriangular basal callus on the hemitergal lobe and by the aedeagus with a hat-shaped apex.

Jiangsu Province is located on the southeast coast of China and lacks high-altitude mountains, with only a few hilly areas mainly distributed in its southern region. In recent years, We investigated the diversity of Plecoptera species in the major mountainous and forested areas of Jiangsu, recording a total of 20 species across 12 genera and five families. In this paper, we examined the materials of Kamimuria from Jiangsu and described a new species, K. liyangensis sp. nov. In addition, detailed English descriptions and colour pictures of K. microda are provided for

Abstract To elucidate the effect of Pleistocene climatic fluctuations on the historical distribution and geographical genetic structure of temperate Japanese species, we performed phylogeographical and demographic analyses using mitochondrial gene sequences obtained from the stonefly species Kamimuria tibialis, sampled from four main islands of the Japanese Archipelago (i.e. Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu) and Tsushima Island. We detected three main clades with distinct geographical distributions, including the Tsushima, Kyushu and Hokkaido–Honshu–Shikoku phylogroups. These groups were e

The composition of Plecoptera species in rivers at different altitudes in Malaysia is not well understood. Therefore, a study on the diversity of stonefly (Plecoptera) was carried out at Gunung Jerai, Kedah, and Gunung Ledang, Johor. The data were collected from three streams for each Gunung Ledang and Gunung Jerai making a total of six streams; Tupah, Bt Hampar, and Teroi rivers from Gunung Jerai while, Ulu Jementah, Jeram Tinggi, and Anak Air Puteh rivers from Gunung Ledang. Plecoptera nymphs were collected using the kick-net sampling technique. All rivers from both mountains recorded five g
