Stosunkowo słaba władza królewska w Rzeczypospolitej dawała szerokie pole dla walk fakcyjnych, a fakt obioru władcy przez reprezentantów szlachty dawał tym sporom politycznym wymierny cel. Sytuacja ta pozwalała też na ingerencje innych państw w sprawy wewnętrzne Rzeczypospolitej i to w coraz większym zakresie. Stąd od XVI do XVII w. istniała cała gama zwalczających się wzajemnie fakcji politycznych, z których wiele szukało sojuszników za granicą. W szeregach każdej z istniejących fakcji znajdowały się też kobiety, które wprawdzie nie zasiadały w sejmie czy senacie, ale jak się niejednokrotnie

Period Drugog svjetskog rata na prostoru nekadašnje jugoslavenske državne zajednice, kao i Bosne i Hercegovine, s problemima “zatamnjene prošlosti”, izaziva znatnu pažnju u “historiografiji tranzicije”. Taj dio historije, izložen nerijetko politiziranju, selektivnim shvatanjima i starim matricama, nerijetko se, pogotovo kada je riječ o Bošnjacima, tendenciozno interpretira, sa mnoštvom stereotipa.
