Abstract:
<em>This paper presents a theoretical exploration of the structural analysis and design process for a G+3 (Ground plus three floors) residential building. The core objective is to compare traditional manual calculation techniques with the capabilities of structural analysis software (specifically STAAD Pro). The analysis considers fundamental load types: gravity loads (dead and live loads, following Indian Standard IS 875) and lateral loads, particularly seismic forces evaluated using the Equivalent Static Method outlined in IS 1893 (Part 1): 2016. Key structural elements like slabs, beams, and columns are designed based on the Limit State Method principles from IS 456:2000. The study contrasts the conceptual basis and application of manual methods (such as Kani's method for gravity frames and the Portal Frame method for lateral loads) against the computational power and precision offered by software. The findings generally show a conceptual alignment between the approaches, affirming the value of understanding manual methods while underscoring the significant advantages of software in handling complex analyses and optimizing designs in contemporary structural engineering.</em> <em>&nbsp;</em>

Abstract:
<em>For a structural engineer to remain competitive in the continuously expanding industry, time-saving is crucial. In response, an effort is made to use the software program staad pro to study and design a multistory building. When studying a multi-story building, it is important to take into account all potential loading scenarios and ensure that the structure is safe under all circumstances. Numerous techniques exist for analyzing various frames, including the Matrix approach, Kani's method, the cantilever method, and the portal method. The goal of the current project is to design and analyze a multi-story G+3 residential complex with two apartments on each floor. The application of live and dead loads, as well as the design for beams, columns, footing is obtained with its additional features, STAAD Pro outperformed its predecessors and competitors thanks to its ability to share data with other well-known programs like AutoCAD. In summary, staad pro is an extremely effective tool that saves a great deal of time and is highly accurate in designs. Thus, it can be said that the staad pro package is appropriate for use in multistory building design.</em> <em>&nbsp;</em>

Abstract:
Dynamics models are widely used in analyzing kinematics and kinetics analysis. Dynamic modeling and simulation can be useful in estimating the torques/forces produced in the limb during various motions, as well as any potential dangers. The aim of this research is to examine the method that is preferable in analyzing the dynamic model of the upper extremity and its application. Several methods have been identified and widely used in analyzing the dynamic model of the upper extremity such as Kane’s method, Lagrange method, optimization method, regression method and many more. Kane's approach, on the other hand, is most commonly used to analyze3D arm segments due to its advantages which is a vector-based approach. The Lagrange approach is suitable to use when the potential and kinetic energy of a system could be easily identified. Meanwhile, most of the researchers used statistical analysis to verify their model and calculation. However, it could be difficult to replicate the simulation work of others because some were not publicly available. Thus, it was recommended to choose a reference from prior studies that will serve as guidance for researchers to solve relevant issues in this field.

Abstract:
This research aims to answer the question by examining the impact of Immanuel Kant's epistemologi on the development of sharia economic law research. The method used is a literary method that is closely related to the research object, and is analyzed using philosophical and historical methods. This research found that Kant's critical philosophy began by questioning rationalist philosophy which accepted previous knowledge without criticizing it. Kant attempted to formulate an epistemological theory that would make a priori knowledge acceptable. Until finally, Kant discovered that knowledge is an a priori synthesis, between rationalism and empiricism. Thus, Kant's epistemologi creates urgency in developing the study of sharia economic law which seeks to form ideas about the importance of combining ideology and theory, between normative-idealist and historical-empirical. So that Islamic teachings can be applied in sharia economic law, especially in sharia financial institutions.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to explore the underpinnings of Kant's doubts about metaphysics and its implications for epistemological problems. Some of the questions that will be answered in this study (1) What is the basis for Kant's doubts about metaphysical problems? (2) what are the implications of Kant's doubts on metaphysical questions? (3) How does religion provide answers to these answers? This research uses literature sources such as books, journals and relevant research reports. The analytical method uses hermeneutics which includes elements of description and interpretation. The result of this research is that Kant believes that every scientific decision comes from experience and reason. Meanwhile, nomena is a reality beyond the boundaries of knowledge. This view of Kant has implications for the search for new methods of approaching metaphysics. Religion is an alternative which needs to be considered as a method of understanding the nominal reality that Kant doubts. Religion has become a kind of epistemology for metaphysical problems.

Abstract:
The problematic of reality is necessarily included in any thorough philosophical system. Kant's transcendental philosophy is no exception. However, Kant is traditionally understood as an idealist and constructivist, and on this basis, attempts to reconstruct his "conceptions of reality" do not seem particularly productive. This article seeks to do just that - to clarify Kant's understanding of this issue, especially since the concept of reality is one of the most frequently used terms. The first part of the article analyzes the ontological structures of Kant's philosophy and the problems associated with the relation of phenomenon, noumenon, and thing-initself, and their complex coordination. The second part considers the significance of the problematics of the objective for clarifying the conceptions of reality. The third part analyzes assessments of Kant's metaphysical project in the studies of S.L. Katrechko, V.V. Vasiliev, S.A. Chernov, A.N. Kruglov, and V.E. Semenov. Researchers of Kantian philosophy do not agree on how to define the form of theoretical analytics given by the Critique of Pure Reason: is it a continuation of the metaphysical tradition, can it in a certain sense be attributed to ontology, is it a new - transcendental - logic, or should it still be treated as a "critical method"? In Kant himself one can find grounds for contradictory answers regarding the aims of his critical philosophy. This article is devoted to clarifying the reasons for this kind of disagreement between the followers of Kant's philosophy and its analysts. In Kant's "shadow" appears all further European philosophy, in one way or another oriented towards the anti-realist foundations of analyticis, in particular phenomenology and anti-realism. The aim of this article is to reconstruct the ontological foundations of Kant's critical method and to clarify his understanding of reality in this context.

In his Inaugural Dissertation De mundi sensibilis atque intelligibilis forma et principiis, Kant renders central the function of illusion as an integral part of a method for avoiding metaphysical errors, without therefore doing away with the possibility of a metaphysics at all. In this paper, my aim is to draw attention to three crucial points in the Dissertation that have significant theoretical continuity: 1) the preparatory character of the discipline presented in this work (also called "ontology") with respect to metaphysics, 2) the negative or elenctic function of the real use of the intellect, and 3) the fallacy of metaphysical subreption. Secondly, I want to point out the significant presence of subreption in thetheory of transcendental demonstrations given in the “Doctrine of Method” of the first Critique with the aim of providing a methodical discipline to the proofs of pure principles of the intellect or transcendental propositions.

Abstract:
Our generation celebrates its freedom from the constricting yoke of the imperial age of grand systems. It joyfully rebels against abstract thinking and disavows preoccupation with systematicity, which none epitomized better than Immanuel Kant, according to whose daily routine the women of Königsberg allegedly set their clocks. Contemporary liberal theology claims that we can no longer believe in a universal disembodied reason that is free from the constraints of particular circumstances. Our thinking, it alleges, reflects interests and desires. Theories serve our will to power and are to be interpreted not by appeal to an aloof rationality, but through analysis of our needs and inclinations. Freedom, however, produces new trepidations. Confronted with radical implications of their convictions, very few are willing to regard their theologies as relatively valid. Tending to reject the past yet wary of anarchy, contemporary liberal theology seeks a method that is attuned to contingent circumstances and avoids the pitfalls of unbridled relativism. I suggest that in our haste to defy and overthrow past masters, we deprive ourselves of profound insights that could guide a quest for resolution. As a case in point, I propose that if we are willing to look afresh at Kant and explore central elements of his system that have been obscured by an overzealous portrayal of his thought as a rigoristic abstract formalism, we shall find clues for escaping the impossible choice between absolutism and relativism.

Abstract:
This study critically discussed the concept of 'perpetual peace' according to Immanuel Kant. For Kant, peace is absolute, and war must be avoided. Kant's concept of peace departs from his philosophical ideas about humans and ethics. According to the researcher's hypothesis, Kant's concept of peace is problematic and not compatible with the concept of peace in Islam. This study aimed to describe Immanuel Kant's concept of perpetual peace and the concept of peace in Islam. In addition, it also analyzed how Kant's concept of perpetual peace is viewed from the Islamic worldview. This research was library research, and the methods used were descriptive, analytical, and comparative. This research concluded that Kant's concept of peace had several philosophical and practical problems. Philosophically, Kant's concept of peace revolves around the concept of man, ethics, and causality, which tend to deny the element of God in it. In practical terms, Kant's idea that war should not exist is a dream that is difficult to realize. His opinion about the peace triangle also leaves many problems. In contrast to that, in the view of Islam, war is allowed to fight injustice and aim for the creation of goodness or maslahah, justice, and global peace. War in Islam is also regulated based on ethical and humanitarian principles. This is based on the Islamic view of humans who simultaneously have a good and a wrong side. In addition, Islam focuses more on human nature and its perspective on reality and life to achieve peace. The Qur'an, with normative teachings such as equality between humans, justice, honesty, the nature of qanaah, can be used as a normative and practical basis for achieving perpetual peaceKeywords : Perpetual Peace; Immanuel Kant; Islamic Worldview

Abstract:
In the history of Western philosophy, debates about truth and error have continued to develop, reflecting diverse views that have emerged over time. The question of human nature became the center of intellectual attention, expanding philosophical study from speculation to fundamental thinking. Amid this context, Immanuel Kant emerged as a key figure who brought a new approach to philosophical inquiry. Although he spent his life in Koningsberg, his ideas in epistemology, anthropology, ethics, and education gained global recognition and made him one of the most influential philosophers of the modern era. However, his views have also drawn criticism, especially for the inconsistencies that are perceived to support dogmatism, although he originally intended to criticize it. This research analyzes Kant's thought, especially about the limits of human knowledge, metaphysics, and criticism of dogmatism. The method used is qualitative text analysis, which examines Kant's main work, "Critique of Pure Reason," as well as the views of other philosophers. Primary and secondary literature is reviewed to identify inconsistencies in Kant's arguments. The results show that although Kant's philosophical system has made an outstanding contribution, there are significant areas for improvement in the handling of metaphysical concepts and the limits of knowledge, which ultimately has the potential to fall into dogmatism. This study concludes that Kant's thought remains relevant and essential, but it needs to be reread critically to fully understand its impact on modern philosophy.

Abstract:
The author poses the problem of the influence of Immanuel Kant's metaphysics on the formation and development of the philosophical worldview of the outstanding Russian philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev. The relevance of the research conducted by the author is due to the weak degree of development among domestic and foreign historians of philosophy of the problem of the influence of Immanuel Kant's philosophy on the philosophical work of N. Berdyaev. The influence of the Kantian type of thought on the formation and development of N. Berdyaev's philosophical worldview has so far been poorly studied and has hardly been touched upon by researchers of his work. The purpose of the study was to reconstruct N. Berdyaev's reception and understanding of the essence and nature of Kant's metaphysics, his type of thought. The author sought to show the decisive influence of Kant on Berdyaev's formation of the theoretical and methodological foundations of his own metaphysics, which in mature years he defined as religious existentialism. The main methods of studying the problem were methods of reconstruction and analysis, synthesis and generalization, hermeneutical approach as a philosophical method of understanding texts. The chronological framework of the study of the problem covers the period of N.'s creativity. Berdyaev from the 1910s to the end of the 1920s. It is shown that Berdyaev treated Kant's philosophy as the most important existential event in the history of the development of the Western spirit. The article concludes that Berdyaev had a positive attitude to Kant's critical method, saw in its application the main method of debunking the illusions of traditional metaphysics and ontology. The results of the research can be used in the process of studying Russian religious philosophy and the philosophical heritage of Nikolai Berdyaev.

Abstract:
Background. On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Immanuel Kant, this study is dedicated to exploring his influence on theatrical art, even though Kant himself did not show much interest in theater. The article attempts to examine the theater of his time, its presence in Königsberg, and the impact of Kant's philosophy on the development of theatrical theory. To study the relationship between German theatrical art of the 18th century and the philosophy of Immanuel Kant, as well as to explore the influence of his philosophical ideas on the development of theatrical art in general. Methods. The article employs general scientific methods such as analytical, comparative, and generalization. Results. The analysis of Immanuel Kant's influence on theatrical art is an atypical area of philosophical research. Although Kant did not leave any works specifically dedicated to theater, his aesthetic theories, particularly those presented in "the Critique of Judgment", had a significant impact on the development of theatrical art and its theory. Kant's ideas, especially his concepts of the beautiful and the sublime, influenced Romanticism and notable figures such as Friedrich Schiller and Johann Goethe. The article also explores the historical context of theater development in Königsberg, where Kant lived and worked. Special attention is given to Kant's role in establishing aesthetic ideas that became the foundation for subsequent changes in theatrical art. The article emphasizes that Kant's philosophy remains relevant and influential in contemporary theater, providing new tools for analyzing and understanding aesthetic ideas. When considering the social role of theater and theatrical art, Kant also emphasized the importance of social interaction in the creation of art. He viewed aesthetic judgment as a serious act that is not merely private but concerns all of humanity. Aesthetic judgments form a public sphere, making them an important subject for philosophical analysis. According to Kant, aesthetic judgment is a way of seeking truth that unites people into a common human community. Similarly, theater is an instrument for seeking truth, a platform for questioning and finding answers to relevant issues. The article also highlights Kant's significance for understanding theater as an art form that unites different types of creativity and reveals its potential for fostering aesthetic taste and moral values. Conclusions. Due to the lack of studies on the connection between Kant's philosophy and theatrical art, there is a vast field for analyzing his influence on the aesthetics of theater, as confirmed by the history of theater during his lifetime.

Abstract Against the consensus that Heidegger reads his own philosophical views into Kant, I argue that Heidegger takes up the main question posed by the first Critique and attempts to identify Kant's best answer to it. Heidegger's method resembles those of Gadamer and Davidson. But by reading the first Critique as offering two conflicting strands of argument, he abandons their aim of maximizing truth, and his theory of error explains why Kant offers the less-promising strand. Heidegger thus provides a distinctive model of charitable, reconstructive interpretation that avoids hermeneutic ventriloquism—a failure to recognize differences of view between interpreter and text.

Abstract:
The Lagrange’s equation remains the most used method by researchers to determine the finite element motion equations in the case of elasto-dynamic analysis of a multibody system (MBS). However, applying this method requires the calculation of the kinetic energy of an element and then a series of differentiations that involve a great computational effort. The last decade has shown an increased interest of researchers in the study of multibody systems (MBS) using alternative analytical methods, aiming to simplify the description of the model and the solution of the systems of obtained equations. The method of Kane’s equations is one possibility to do this and, in the paper, we applied this method in the study of a MBS applying finite element analysis (FEA). The number of operations involved is lower than in the case of Lagrange’s equations and Kane’s equations are little used previously in conjunction with the finite element method (FEM). Results are obtained regardless of the type of finite element used. The shape functions will determine the final form of the matrix coefficients in the equations. The results are applied in the case of a planar mechanism with two degrees of freedom.

This paper demonstrates the use of Kane’s method to derive equations of motion for a spar-type floating offshore wind turbine taking into account the flexibility of the members. The recently emerged Kane’s method reduces the effort required to derive equations of motion for complex multi-body systems, making them simpler to model and more readily solved by computers. Further, the installation procedure of external vibration control devices on the wind turbine using Kane’s method is described, and the ease of using this method has been demonstrated. A tuned mass damper inerter (TMDI) is installed in the tower for illustration. The excellent vibration mitigation properties of the TMDI are also presented in this paper.

Abstract:
An ethics-based information security system based on Immanuel Kant's transcendental legal paradigm can give a strong foundation for tackling moral quandaries in AI, hacking, and information systems. Lavanya Singh highlights the necessity of instinctive ethics based on philosophical literature and presents a Kantian ethics application that adheres to the philosophical tradition. Meanwhile, Sanchita Saha et al. address ethical hacking as a method of disclosing vulnerabilities in information systems for the benefit of society, emphasizing ethical concerns in cybersecurity operations. Furthermore, Flávia Maria Santoro and Rosa Maria Esteves Moreira da Costa underline the significance of examining information systems via an ethical lens in order to negotiate conceptual conflicts and make informed judgments in delicate situations, which is consistent with Kant's moral philosophy. Using doctrinal research methodologies with legal material sources derived from literature studies and qualitative descriptive analysis. This study discovered that by incorporating Kant's concepts into information security systems, the transcendental legal paradigm may guide ethical decision making and promote responsible technological advancement. The Ethics-Based Information Security Systems Act, modeled after Immanuel Kant's Transcendental Paradigm, would prioritize universal ethical principles, respect for human autonomy, duty-bound behaviors, transparency, accountability, and a structured regulatory framework. The law will guarantee that information security is maintained not just through technological means, but also via a solid ethical foundation that respects the dignity and rights of all those concerned.

This research is motivated by Immanuel Kant's thoughts regarding his efforts to reconcile the conflict between rationalism and empiricism. The purpose of this research is to synthesize the two schools of philosophy: rationalism and empiricism through Immanuel Kant's critical thinking. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. The results of this study indicate that the acquisition of knowledge is a synthesis of the two elements, namely a priori and a posteriori. These two elements are closely related, correlated, both provide an important role as the basis of knowledge. Thus, between the thoughts of ratioanalism and empiricism, both are elements that play an important role that cannot be separated.

SUMMARYDynamic modeling is a fundamental step in analyzing the movement of any mechanical system. Methods for dynamical modeling of constrained systems have been widely developed to improve the accuracy and minimize computational cost during simulations. The necessity to satisfy constraint equations as well as the equations of motion makes it more critical to use numerical techniques that are successful in decreasing the number of computational operations and numerical errors for complex dynamical systems. In this study, performance of a variant of Kane’s method compared to six different techniques based on the Lagrange’s equations is shown. To evaluate the performance of the mentioned methods, snake-like robot dynamics is considered and different aspects such as the number of the most time-consuming computational operations, constraint error, energy error, and CPU time assigned to each method are compared. The simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the variant of Kane’s method concerning the other ones.

The article analyzes in detail the socio-historical and ideological-theoretical origins of Protestant liberalism (Kant's philosophy of "reason"), reveals the essence of the liberal-Protestant method of hermeneutics, dogmas and provisions of traditional Christianity and gives a critical assessment of the results of using the method of hermeneutics for Christian theology itself, which led it to self-destruction and the Christian religion to collapse. Until now, in our philosophical literature, the topic of determining the influence of Kant's philosophy on the emergence of Protestant liberalism and its strategic development has not been sufficiently investigated. The article fills this gap in the study of the above problem, without the analysis of which, in principle, it is impossible to understand the essence of modern Protestant radical modernism, the essence of those internal processes that occur within Christian theology.

A biomechanics model of six-link kinematic chain of human body is developed by using Kane's method. The kinematic data comprise of six segments; foot, calf, thigh, trunk, upper arm and forearm, are obtained through data collection of walking, running and jumping using the Vicon Nexus system. The motion capture system uses 12 Vicon MX-3+ cameras and 12 Vicon MX-F40 cameras, two DV (50 Hz) cameras and a force plate (100 Hz). Inverse dynamics approach is used to obtain the unknown value of torques produced by joint segments during walking, running and jumping activities. The results show that the largest value of torques produced occurs at the foot segment.

The article considers the specifics of I. Kant's transcendental epistemology and attempts to comprehend his contribution to philosophy. The concept of an "assemblage point" is analyzed, which means the construction of a vision of the world using details that exist independently of consciousness. It is shown that such an "assemblage point" in I. Kant's philosophy of cognition was the concept of "metaphysical a posteriori", which, in a certain sense, redefines the world, making it its own, assimilated and mastered, bringing the world closer to man. The essence of Kant's Copernican revolution is connected with a changed method of thinking, with the idea that we know about things only what we put into them ourselves.

AbstractThe success of Philip Venables’ opera adaptation of Sarah Kane's 4.48 Psychosis is underpinned by its powerful presentation of the play's text. This is predominantly facilitated by the other musical forces present, rather than through clever text-setting alone. Venables uses an array of timbral techniques, theatrical performance directions, referential sound effects, interactions with literary devices in the text and allusions to other musical genres in the opera to support and supplement his vocal writing. This article argues that the instrumental composition in 4.48 is critical in ensuring comprehension of the libretto and that, because of his working methods, Venables’ adaptation is faithful to Kane's sensitive play.

Abstract:
The logical-historical subtext of Kant's definition of space and time as pure forms of sensory knowledge is investigated. The author analyzes the thinker's revision of the concept of a priori, his assertion of the existence of a priori synthetic judgments that serve as the basis for the formulation of the problem of the possibility of a priori forms of sensuality. In the center of the consideration is Kant's correlation of the categories of substance and form, matter and form, spatial incongruence as justifications of transcendental aesthetics. Special emphasis is placed on the differentiation, even the opposition of the categories of matter and form, substance and form by the thinker. The main method is hermeneutical reinterpretation of Kant's legacy from the standpoint of achievements and problems of modern cosmology. The main conclusions of this study are: 1) The formulation of the problem of the human dimension of our Universe in Kant's philosophy, which echoes the anthropic principle widely discussed in physics and testifies to the enduring projective significance of the philosopher's creativity.2) In this regard, it is permissible to attribute a priori forms of sensuality to the innate features of the human body. The three-dimensionality of the form of human sensory perception in the models of eleven-dimensional space-time discussed in modern science determines the very fact of the possibility of its existence. 3) In Kantian philosophy, the question is not raised how the form is attached to the essence. The development of modern elementary particle physics and cosmology in geometrodynamic content has come close to this priority issue.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the reception of I. Kant's theory of space and time in the theory of cognition of V. D. Kudryavtsev-Platonov (hereinafter Kudryavtsev). In his theory of cognition, Kudryavtsev not only engages into an indirect dispute with the German philosopher and criticized his point of views, but also used a number of his ideas, namely from the theory of space and time. The relevance of this article is substantiated by the fact that the problem of reception of Kantian ideas in Kudryavtsev's philosophy has not been fully developed. The goal of this research is to determine the specificity of perception of Kantian theory of space and time in the analogous theory of Kudryavtsev. For achieving this goal, the author employed conceptual-analytical, system-structural and comparative methods, as well as the method of historical reconstruction. The scientific novelty lies in elucidation of the nature of reception of gnoseological ideas of I. Kant in the philosophy of V. D. Kudryavtsev. The author outlines the positions of Kantian theory of space and time that were borrowed by Kudryavtsev: 1) space and time have an a priori nature, i.e. they are universal and necessary non-empirical forms of sensory cognition; 2) at the same time, they are conditions of sensory experience. Kudryavtsev also follows Kant in division of reality into phenomena and things-in-themselves, but does not agree with uncognizability of the things-in-themselves. Such divergence is associated with the objective meaning of space and time, which Kudryavtsev insists on, while Kant underlines their subjective meaning alone. In conclusion, it is emphasized that Kudryavtsev formulates his theory of space and time leaning on Kantian apriorism. Kudryavtsev simultaneously agrees with Kant's definitions of space and time and denies Kant's conclusions on their subjective nature.

Abstract:
Objectives The purpose of this study is to derive the direction of unification education for the cultivation of citizenship in the elementary moral education based on Kant's view on perpetual peace.&#x0D; Methods By analyzing the literature related to unification education in elementary moral education, as well as Kant's literature on perpetual peace, this study reveals that Kant's discussion centered on the issue of ‘the unity of politics and morality’ is related to the cultivation of a moral citizen, and suggests a way to escape from the problem that unification education is not free from political circumstances. Next, the difficulty of unification education in the elementary moral education is analyzed based on the above discussion, an alternative approach is presented, and the direction of unification education is suggested.&#x0D; Results Kant's discussion shows that when the problem of morality is overlooked in the problem of real politics, it always results in a ‘political citizen’ or ‘political moralist’. Moral education needs to deal with the issue of unification based on the universal value of ‘peace’, and should focus on the formation of ‘moral citizens’ who aim for perpetual peace. In particular, if unification education is to be done through teaching, it needs to be done in a way that fits the nature of instruction.&#x0D; Conclusions Unification education through elementary moral education needs to aim for universal values such as perpetual peace, and when aiming for that, it is possible to teach that is free from the problem of indoctrination and that can cause a change in thinking.

Abstract:
The paper deals with analysis of the works of I. Kant from the point how these works fit into the colonial-enlightenment discourse of the late modern period. During a long time, this issue was out of the research attention, because the colonial issue was not considered to be the central aspect of I. Kant's works. The purpose of the study is an attempt to answer the questions, firstly, what place did colonial knowledge occupy in the ontological and epistemological systems of I. Kant, secondly, what was the specificity of Kant's racial theory, and, thirdly, how in Kantian philosophy the relationship between the ideas about the world's wholeness and the fact of the existence of other races was constructed. This author uses the method of historical and cultural contextualization by E. Said, which allows us to correlate Kant's ideas directly with the worldview system that developed in European intellectual thought in the late 18th - early 19th centuries. A special feature of the Kantian racial theory is that, on the one hand, it served as a cognitive strategy for systematizing knowledge about the conquered peoples within the framework of the scientific picture of the world, which was conceived as unified and expedient, on the other hand, it legitimized the domination of Europeans over the colonial population in terms of natural science.

Abstract:
Hegel's Science of Logic achieves its conclusion with a chapter on the ‘absolute Idea’ that parallels the ending of other works such as the ‘absolute Knowing’ chapter of the Phenomenology of Spirit and the ‘absolute Spirit’ chapter of the Encyclopedia. However, the ending of the Logic claims special systematic attention due to the fact that Hegel presents here the ‘discourse on method’ of his philosophy. The method of philosophy — of philosophical thinking and philosophical knowing — is the method of speculative logic. This logic “takes the place” of the old metaphysics — of the traditional metaphysica generalis and metaphysica specialis — going beyond Kant's own critique and proposing a new science that establishes itself as the “eigentliche Metaphysik”. The project of concluding this new speculative metaphysics with a theory of method is complicated by the double systematic placing that Hegel attributes to his logic which, at the same time, figures as the very first and very last science of the whole system of philosophy. In this perspective, the absolute Idea of the Logic gains its double relation to the phenomenological ‘absolute knowing’ and to the highest moment of ‘absolute spirit’.

Abstract:
The analysis of variance of a data set made up of 30 sweet corn (Zea mays L.) hybrids evaluated over 5 years for marketable ears (dozens per hectare) indicated a significant genotype (hybrid) × year (GY) interaction. Three selection methods were compared: 1) a conventional method based on mean yield alone (YA), 2) Kang's ranksum (KRS) method, and 3) Kang's modified rank-sum (KMR) method. The number of hybrids selected on the basis of YA, KRS, and KMR was 13. The KRS selected the lowest number of unstable hybrids (three) compared with the YA and KMR, which selected eight and six unstable hybrids, respectively. The mean yields of the selected hybrids were 3034 dozen/ha for YA, 2945 dozen/ha for KRS, and 3019 dozen/ha for KMR. The mean yield of KRS-selected hybrids and KMR-selected hybrids was &lt;2.9% and 0.5%, respectively, than that of YA-based selections. This yield reduction was regarded as insignificant considering the farmer would be able to choose more consistently performing hybrids on the basis of KRS than on the basis of KMR or YA. Heterogeneity due to environmental index is the mean of all genotypes in the jth year and X is the overall mean) was significant and was removed from the GY interaction. The removal of heterogeneity revealed that hybrids 77-2269, 116-Kandy Korn-EH, Golden Queen, 141-Sundance, Merit, and Stowell Evergreen were unstable because of a linear effect of the environmental index, and that hybrids 76-2681 and 806F-Truckers showed stable performance due to a linear effect of the environmental index.
