Bacterioplankton and bacteriobenthos of the middle and lower sections of the Kyiv Reservoir, and the upper section of the Kaniv Reservoir was studied in July 2021 under abnormally high water and air temperatures. The average numbers of bacterioplankton were similarly high (Kyiv Reservoir 14.4 ± 6.2·106 cells/cm3, Kaniv Reservoir - 17.6 ± 1.4·106 cells/cm3), with wider range in the Kyiv Reservoir. The study aimed to determine the temporal parameters of 137Cs specific activity in higher aquatic plants of Kyiv and Kaniv reservoirs. Parameters characterizing the dynamics of 137Cs content for hydrophytes (Potamogeton perfoliatus and Ceratophyllum demersum) and helophytes (Phragmites australis and Typha angustifolia) were determined based on the results of 137Cs specific activity determination in the aboveground plant organs. Plant samples were collected in 1989–2021 from a polygonal area in the upper part of Kyiv reservoir (shallow waters near Strakholyssia village) and in 2000–2021 from a

During the period of 2011–2018, the average specific activity of 90Sr in aboveground organs of prairie cordgrass, submerged club-rush, common reed, and narrow-leaved cattail ranged from 1.5 to 14.0 Bq/kg, while 137Cs ranged from 3.1 to 165 Bq/kg. Over the course of the study, a tendency towards a decrease in 137Cs accumulation levels by hydrophytes was observed. The specific activity of 137Cs in helophytes and 90Sr in helophytes and hydrophytes likely remained unchanged. In 2018, the average specific activity of 90Sr in the investigated plant species did not exceed the maximum reference values

The impact of reservoirs on the environment and on living conditions of the population in river basins with regulated runoff attracts more and more attention all over the world. After all, on the one hand, it is the economic development of the territories where they are located (electricity generation, land irrigation, industrial and municipal water supply, etc.), and on the other – a significant impact on the nature, nearby lands flooding, shores destroying, water quality deteriorating, etc. The subject of this research is the dynamics of hydromorphic landscapes formation in the Kaniv Reservo

The ice regime on water bodies depends on large-scale atmospheric processes that develop over large areas and over a long period of time. The basis of long-term forecasts of the ice regime on water bodies are assumptions about the uniformity of atmospheric processes during the synoptic season and the regularity of their trends from season to season. The most widespread approach to long-term forecasting is based on finding relationships between the quantitative indicators of atmospheric circulation over the forecasting object or over separate adjacent (large in the area) synoptic areas or zones

ABSTRACT: The reservoir space of metamorphic buried hill reservoirs are complex and the heterogeneity is strong. It is difficult to fully characterize the micro pore and fracture structure of single resolution digital core. In this paper, multi-resolution CT and FIB-SEM scanning were performed on the cores of metamorphic buried hill reservoirs. The image registration method is used to match the core images of different resolutions. The union of pore structure at each resolution is taken to characterize the distribution law of pore and fractures quantitatively. The results showed that multi-sca
