Abstract:
When studying a local society dominated by naval officers and the extent to which they integrated the Jewish community in their midst, a new perspective on Swedish naval history is revealed. The Swedish Royal Navy has always been internationally orientated, but previous research has not taken this into account. Furthermore, not much research has been undertaken on the Swedish Royal Navy at all. As a metropolitan outpost, Karlskrona has generally been seen, by historians and contemporaries alike, as largely peripheral to the upheavals of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Jews were not allowed to settle in Sweden until 1779, but in 1782 their settlement was permitted, though restricted to Stockholm, Gothenburg and Norrköping. The naval city of Karlskrona became an exception to the regulations. Previous research on the Jewish parish in Karlskrona was undertaken in the 1910s, and mistakenly concluded that it was the most unfriendly environment for Jews in early modern Sweden. This article seeks to reinterpret old sources and add newly found ones, which together engender a new perception of Jewish integration in Karlskrona. This is done by adopting the Port Jews concept and recognizing naval cities as internationally orientated production centres. In line with this, the article argues that Karlskrona, together with Gothenburg, should be interpreted as a Swedish example of the Port Jews concept.

Żegluga promowa obejmująca połączenia z Polski do Szwecji jest głównym rynkiem promowym na akwenie południowego Bałtyku. Rynek ten stanowią linie promowe skupione w dwóch obszarach: Zachodniego Wybrzeża – między Świnoujściem a Ystad i Trelleborgiem oraz Zatoki Gdańskiej – między Gdynią a Karlskroną oraz Gdańskiem i Nynashamn. Serwisy ze Świnoujścia charakteryzuje konkurencja wewnętrzna między utrzymującymi je operatorami a także odczuwają konkurencję zewnętrzną linii Rostok–Trelleborg, która stanowi równoległe, alter- natywne połączenie z Niemiec do południowej Szwecji. Serwisy z portów Trójmiasta są konkurencyjne wobec siebie, jednak pozycja operatora Stena Line na linii Gdynia–Karlskrona jest bez porównania silniejsza, co przejawia się potencjałem przewozowym i poziomem obrotów. Na podstawie analizy rynku żeglugi promowej na południowym Bałtyku i analizy danych odnoszących się do przewoźników operujących na liniach między Polską a Szwecją można stwierdzić, że ich pozycja jest silna.

Det är framförallt denna period som tidigare studerats, varför församlingens omvandling till östjudisk invandrarförsamling inte tidigare uppmärksammats.

Abstract:
Naval dockyards have been largely neglected by labour historians, a surprising omission given their importance as industrial workplaces with a distinct culture of labour and labour relations. This article considers labour politics in Karlskrona dockyard, Sweden, in the light of a growing body of research on work and labour relations in the British and other European dockyards. Evidence from Karlskrona suggests that, rather than being repressed by military discipline or bought off by generous state benefits, the dockyard workforce drew on aspects of its unique relationship with the national state to improve working conditions. Particular attention is given to the role of the dockyard trade union in creating a sense of workforce identity as state employees. This is in contrast to the British dockyards where unionism was founded on the rigid division of labour in the shipbuilding industry.

Abstract:
For the last four years there has been a videoconferencing link between the Karlskrona hospital and the university hospital of Lund. Because of a need to transmit angiographic films, its use has been gradually expanded to become an everyday routine, used for both elective and emergency examinations. During 1994 and 1995, 1121 cases were examined over the video link. Apart from 156 normal cases all were discussed with surgeons, most at 96 weekly conferences but approximately 50 at conferences taking place as soon as possible after the examination. Assuming that an average of three doctors attended the conferences before the video link was available, this amounts to a saving of 3 8 h in travelling time per videoconference. The average salary was 300 SKr/h and train tickets cost a further 400 SKr per person. The cost of the ISDN connection was approximately 1800 SKr/conference. The net gain was thus about 6500 SKr per videoconference, without taking into account the work that could be done with the doctors still in Karlskrona after the conference.

Arbetet redovisar förhållandet mellan belysnings- och fysisk planering och hur dessa två kunskapsfält kan ge upphov till en förbättrad utformning av våra städers offentliga miljöer. Förutom att belysning har såväl rationella och estetiska värden som funktions- och effektbelysning har ny teknik inom belysningsbranschen möjliggjort till en form av ljussättning av platser som tidigare ansågs vara antingen överflödiga, onödiga eller omöjliga. Hållbar utveckling, det offentliga rummet och belysningsplanering utgör således arbetets teoretiska ram där olika begrepp ställs emot varandra och konkretiseras i olika gestaltningsförslag i ett resultatkapitel. I detta kapitel formuleras visioner för olika problemområden i ett geografiskt avgränsat område i Karlskrona, där intentionerna med en ny ljussättning argumenteras och redovisas i ett gestaltande segment. Förutom att arbetet ger ett exempel på tillvägagångssätt för analys av belysning baserat på diverse litterära verk och relevanta handböcker, förankras arbetet med praktiker inom fältet. De ger oss en insikt i vad belysningsplanering anses ha för värde bland kommunerna, ger exempel på ljusdesignerns roll i planeringsprocessen och vad det finns för för- och nackdelar med ett belysningsprogram.

Sammanslagningar mellan organisationer är ett vanligt fenomen inom företagsvärlden, där grunden oftast ligger i ekonomisk vinning. Sammanslagningar kan ske på flera olika sätt, till exempel påbörjade samarbeten som sedan leder till hopslagningar, upphandlingar av en annan organisation och även hostila övertaganden genom aktieandelar. Detta skapade en undran om hur sammanslagningar mellan ideella organisationer sker. Ideella organisationer ägs inte på samma sätt som normala organisationer, de har ingen ägare som kan ta ut en vinst från företaget eller aktier som någon annan kan ta över. En sammanslagning mellan ideella organisationer sker då på bådas begäran och förmåga. De ideella organisationerna bör då se en vinning med sammanslagningen för att uppnå sina mål. Denna studie gör en granskning av två ideella organisationer i form av idrottsföreningar som undersöker deras pågående sammanslagning. Vilka faktorer och mål de ansågs stämma överens för att de skulle överväga och påbörja sammanslagningen. Studien kommer även göra en granskning på hur organisationerna hanterar kulturen under sammanslagningen. Organisationskulturen är en viktig aspekt för en välfungerande organisation. Om en sammanslagning ska lyckas är forskare överens om att kulturerna måste tas i hänsyn. De äldre kulturerna som redan är rotade i organisationerna behöver bli en ny kultur för den gemensamma organisationen. Interaktionerna mellan medlemmarna inom organisationerna behöver fungera på ett sätt så att arbetet kan föras vidare och fungera, det är vid dessa tillfällen som organisationskulturen får en viktig roll i alla företag. Därav anses en analys av hur de två ideella organisationerna har hanterat kulturen i sammanslagningen vara av stor vikt. Studien har gått ut på att intervjua ledande personer inom sammanslagningen från båda föreningar som sitter i den nya gemensamma styrelsen.

Abstract:
Denna C – uppsats i sociologi syftar till att undersöka varifrån förstagångsväljare får sin påverkan till ett ställningstagande inför riksdagsvalet år 2006. Studien belyser även förstagångsväljarnas syn på vikten av att rösta. Våra frågeställningar är således; Varifrån kommer påverkan till störst del ifrån för förstagångsväljare till riksdagsvalet år 2006? Anser förstagångsväljaren att det är viktigt att rösta? Begrepp som socialisation och könssocialisation visar att påverkan hemifrån är av stor betydelse för förstagångsväljaren. Socialisationen delas upp i två faser, där den primära fasen äger rum i hemmet under de första åren och den sekundära fasen inträder när individen får kontakt med nya arenor. Med könssocialisation menas konstruktionen av de könsroller som pojkar respektive flickor tilldelas. Tidigare forskning visar dels att ungdomar idag har ett mindre förtroende för politiker, dels att påverkan hemifrån formar individens åsikter. Vi har använt en kvalitativ ansats i form av semistrukturerad intervju för att infria vårt syfte. Intervjuerna ägde rum på Thörnströmska gymnasiet och af Chapmangymnasiet. Totalt deltog 21 respondenter i studien, varav tolv kvinnor och 9 män. I resultatet framgår det att påverkan till ett ställningstagande till största del kommer ifrån hemmet. Både de som vet var de står politiskt idag och de som inte vet var de står politiskt idag hävdar att den faktorn till påverkan, är hemmet, det vill säga den primära socialisationen. I det enda fallet där den sekundära socialisationen visade sig starkare, var då männen förklarade var deras påverkan till ett ställningstagande kom ifrån. I detta fall var media den starkaste socialisationskanalen. Fyra av 21 respondenter ansåg inte det vara viktigt att utnyttja sin röst, medan resterande 17 fann detta viktigt.

Abstract:
Denna rapport ska verka till Karlskrona kommuns kvantifiering av potentialen för solcellsanvändning. Med litterära studier och fallstudieunderlag så har en modell för att beräkna möjligt solenergiupptag samt livscykelkostnader utformats. Med modellen som underlag och i samråd med SMHI så har Karlskronas möjliga solenergiupptag beräknats till ca 1100 kWh/(m2*år) för en horisontell yta. Med en verkningsgrad hos kristallina kiselbaserade solcellsmoduler på 15 % så skulle det därmed behövas en yta av ca 370 ha för att täcka Karlskrona kommuns elbehov. Livscykelkostnaden med solcellsmodulerna kan enligt fallstudierna till mer än 90 % kopplas till anskaffning. Fallstudierna över den senast uppförda solcellsanläggningen anger en energikostnad på 2,09 kr/kWh vid en uppskattad livstid på 25 år. Dock ingår inte kostnaden för avveckling vid dessa beräkningar vilket gör livscykelkostnaden ofullständig.

Abstract:
Theft without break-ins has increased significantly in the last year of swimming, sports and leisure facilities in Karlskrona, more precisely 60%. Vandalism in the shape of graffiti is another common crime. The solutions are divided into social and situational crime prevention. Social crime prevention engage in actions that are based on social causes of crime rather than the opposite situational crime prevention, which instead assumes that discourage with the help of technical solutions and has as primary objective to hinder accessibility for example theft friendly goods. The main purpose of this work is to come up with solutions to prevent these crimes, while also being cost-effective and realistic to implement. The work is important in that it creates safety awareness and promotes a healthy safety culture. Moreover, the future goal is to lower these statistics. The goal of the work is in addition to developing our knowledge of crime subject, was also to provide help and solutions for our clients. We have always tried to seek innovative solutions. The work has been based on the theoretical framework in which the relevant areas have been addressed. Furthermore, the results using the methodology prescribed in accordance with the theoretical framework. Finally, we come to the conclusion that there is a lot of cost-effective solutions that could be applied in real life and what is important is that they interact together to create a culture of incident reporting, which in turn documented and followed up for further evaluation. Documentation is important because it creates statistics to work from. Do not forget to involve the public.
Stöld utan inbrott har ökat markant under det senaste året på bad-, sport- och fritidsanläggningar i Karlskrona, närmare sagt 60%. Skadegörelse i form av klotter är ett annat vanligt förekommande brott. Lösningarna delas upp i social och situationell brottsprevention. Sociala brottspreventionen ägnar sig åt åtgärder som utgår från brottslighetens sociala orsaker istället för motsatsen situationell brottsprevention som istället utgår från att avskräcka med hjälp utav tekniska lösningar och har som primärt mål att försvåra tillgänglighet för t.ex. stöldbegärliga varor. Det huvudsakliga syftet med arbetet är att komma fram till lösningar som förebygger dessa brott, samtidigt som de är kostnadseffektiva och realistiska att implementera. Arbetet är viktigt på så sätt att det skapar säkerhetsmedvetenhet och främjar en hälsosam säkerhetskultur. Dessutom är det framtidsförankrade målet att sänka denna statistik. Målet med arbetet har förutom att utveckla vår kunskap inom det brottsförebyggande ämnet, varit att bidra med hjälp och lösningar åt våra uppdragsgivare. Vi har hela tiden försökt sträva efter innovativa lösningar. Arbetet har haft sin grund i den teoretiska ramen där berörda områden har behandlats. Vidare har resultatet med hjälp av metodiken skrivits i enlighet med den teoretiska ramen. Avslutningsvis har vi kommit fram till att det finns en hel del kostnadseffektiva lösningar som skulle kunna tillämpas i verkligheten och det viktiga är att man samverkar sinsemellan för att skapa en kultur med incidentrapportering som i sin tur dokumenteras och följs upp för vidare utvärdering. Dokumentation är viktigt eftersom det skapar statistik att utgå ifrån. Glöm inte att involvera allmänheten.

Abstract:
Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka vilka åtgärder Karlskrona vidtog kring kolerafarsoten år 1834 och 1853 samt vilka reaktioner som uppstod kring åtgärderna hos stadens invånare. Materialet som använts består främst av sundhetsnämndens handlingar från åren 1834 och 1853, kungörelser kring koleran och tidningsartiklar från dagstidningarna Carlskrona Veckoblad samt Blekings-Posten. Resultatet visar att Karlskrona vidtagit förebyggande åtgärder år 1834 från den stund då koleran nått Ystad. Tidigt inrättades och iordningställdes sjukhusanstalter, tillförsel av sjukhuspersonal, beredskap av likkistor, särskilda kolerabegravningsplatser, karantän och vakthållning. Övervakandet av ordning och renlighet utgjordes av inrättade kvartersmännen. Karlskrona strävade efter att noggrant kontrollera vilka personer som intog staden. Läkarnas insatser tyder på att de förespråkade att förebygga smittspridningen i staden främst bland stadens fattigare befolkning. Skyddsåtgärderna som vidtogs av Karlskrona år 1834 levde kvar i 1853 års skyddsåtgärder. Sundhetsnämndens verksamhet år 1853 visar att de flesta skyddsåtgärder inrättats efter att koleran utbrutit i staden, men att verksamheten handlade aktivt när koleran utbrutit i staden. Tillsyningsmän och ledamöter uppmanades kontrollera renligheten inom sjukkvarteren varav böter utdelades till personer som inte erhöll renlighet. Rökning och rening var skyddsåtgärder som ansågs kunna reducera smittspridningen. Oron om att smittspridningen skulle få förödande konsekvenser bland stadens fattigare befolkning levde kvar hos läkarna år 1853. För att hjälpa samhällets mest utsatta anskaffades friskt vatten för att förhindra förödande konsekvenser.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to study the labour union Försvarsverkens Civila Personals Förbund section 36 in Karlskrona between 1939- 1949, which consisted of men and women who were employees of the naval shipyard. The labour union is studied by investigating their economy, membership number and amount of written rapports to and from the section and which labour questions they worked for. Besides this, the essay seeks to study if there was any development in the working process, for example if there occurred any modernization in the shipyard and if this is visible in the questions driven by the union. Another purpose of this paper is to compare section 36 in Karlskrona with section 41 in Malmö, by comparing which questions they worked for and the working process in the shipyards. The theory used in this paper is the so called conflict- theory, which states that conflict is either moving society forward, or creating chaos in the natural order, by the struggle for material resources. Conflict theory is a multi- faceted theory and therefore one interpretation, made by Bo Stråth, is used for this paper. When it comes to the method used in this paper, the one that is used is a comparative method with both quantitative and qualitative elements. The other aspect of the method comes from the conflict theory, as described by Stråth. The result showed that section 36 had a relatively good development between 1939- 1949: their economy increased and their membership increased overall, even though most factors changed for better or worse between each year. Another result was that section 36 and section 41 were quite alike when it came to the two aspects that were investigated. In both sections the question of wages was the most important and in both shipyards the working process changed to some extent for the employees, which can be seen in the questions driven by both sections. Purpose: The main purpose of our study is to explain how the disability management in the municipality of Karlskrona can design its balanced scorecard from a theoretical basis. The mission of the balanced scorecard is to improve the management control system. To achieve the main purpose we have to study the problems that exist with the current control system, which then becomes our second purpose. Method: Our study has a qualitative approach. The design of the study is a case study in which one case has been looked at. The empirical data is collected through interviews and documents. We have gathered our theory through scientific articles and literature. Results: The goals set by the board are unclear and hard to define. This has lead them to more or less focus only on the economic objective, to keep within the budget framework. The economic focus has lead to a short-term perspective which in turn leads to focus on the wrong things and not on the critical factors of their mission. The disability management has in our opinion a well designed foundation for its balanced scorecard. They have a well formulated vision from which they indirectly have linked their strategies, however they need to communicate their vision to the employees. The chosen perspectives and goals are well designed although we lack a learning and growth perspective. Some of their activities and key figures should in our opinion be reviewed. They have unconsciously created a cause-effect relation both within and across the perspectives. They should have the cause-effect relation in mind for future revisions and degradations. They should also formulate an action plan to complete their balanced scorecard.

Abstract:
Information and communication technologies (ICT) can provide added value in an organizational context in order to enhance the definition of business support strategies. The purpose of the chapter is to focus on the contribution of ICT to implement a sustainability policy in the organizations, in the context of the sustainable development goals to improve cooperation and promote development. In this context, the principles of the Karlskrona Manifesto are applied to the development of software systems. The methodology focused on the literature review of the domain and on a case study, in order to analyze the impact of ICT as an engine of sustainability in organizations. The main conclusions focus on the analysis of the impact of established practices in organizations to design and develop sustainable software systems. The results point to a greater consciousness of the potential effects of software systems on sustainability, which will improve management practices, reducing the quantity of material to be recycled, and aligning organizational strategies with Green IT.
