Full textPrevious research has identified which core values and added-values companies can perceive of the auditor. Research has shown that client companies perceived value of the auditor differ between companies due to different factors. However, to our knowledge no one has studied if industry is an explanatory factor for the client company’s perceived value of the auditor. The purpose of the study is to explain if client companies perceived value of the auditor is affected by its industry. The study aims to further explain why client companies perceived value of the auditor differs between companies. To fulfill the purpose theory about core value (assurance, improvement and insurance) and added-value (relationship and advice) has been used. Hypotheses and a model has been constructed based on an argumentation about capital and knowledge intensive industries. To test the hypotheses and the model a survey was conducted among companies from capital and knowledge intensive industries. The results show that the client’s industry is an explanatory factor for core value and added-value. More specific can improvement, the relationship and advice be explained by industry. The conclusion is that industry is an explanatory factor for the client companies perceived value of the auditor. The theoretical contribution is that industry can be added to the explanatory factors of client companies’ perceived value of the auditor. The practical contribution is that auditors can understand that the perceived value of the auditor differ between companies, which is important since the abundance of the statutory audit to continuing selling their service.

Full textThe packaging is becoming increasingly important and is sometimes the only communication channel to the consumer, especially in small family businesses. Persgården is a small Swedish family company located on Visingsö who sells organic muesli, various type of date, mixes of dried fruits and nuts. Persgårdens problem is that all of their packaging does not convey the same feel and communicate their core values. Our work has been to do a re-design of Persgårdens packaging. Our prime purpose was to change Persgårdens existing packaging so the packagings could get more uniformed to the customer and that consumers should easily recognize the packaging series. The purpose was also that Persgårdens packaging would stand out from other similar products on the market. The purpose was also to see how the process of production of food packaging works. Based on the purpose, the following questions have been developed: - Which core values do Persgården want to communicate?- Which elements and markings must appear on Persgårdens packaging?- How can we change Persgårdens existing packaging series to make it more uniformed, unique and communicate their core values? The methods that have been used to answer our questions are a literature survey and interviews with the owners of Persgården and external experts. We have also done a competitor analysis, moodboard and we have visit a fair. The new packagings has been developed based on a design process. The results of this work show the markings and elements that must be included on a food packaging. The core values of Persgården has been analyzed and chosen to be genuine, organic and health. Sketches and prototypes of the new packaging series have also been developed. During the development of the new packaging, consideration has been taken to what Persgården want to convey and their three core values. The result has been developed using mainly thoughts and ideas from the interviews and the literature survey. We can finally establish that it is important to think about where the package should be placed, what it should convey and that all packaging conveys the same feeling.

Full textIt seems like it is becoming increasingly more difficult for traditional marketing to reach consumers. When several companies and the like simultaneously want to be heard, it becomes difficult to stand out from the crowd and be seen. When someone comes with something new, others copy that. One way to stand out is to be original and have a unique brand identity, since it is harder to copy. Events can also act as brands. They are often arranged by various organisations, which mean that the brand identity is influenced by many. The purpose of this study is to determine how an event with various organisations involved works with the brand identity in order to communicate a coherent image of the brand. Since the core values are the foundation for the brand identity, the purpose is also to examine how these are reflected in an event’s communication via its website, which is an effective way to reach customers. To fulfil the purpose of this paper, a case study with interviews and content analysis was conducted. Our study shows that to succeed with a successful event, with several underlying organisations, there is a clear advantage in having only one organisation that manages the practical aspects of the event. The other organisations provide frames and/or set of regulations. The event organisation must be provided with a clear organisational structure and distinct roles, to facilitate the decision making. The event organisation has to actively work with the brand, both internally and externally, to convey the right image of the brand during the event experience (service process). Further, the event organisation has to make sure that the promises made in the planned communication, such as advertisement, are kept. A strong brand needs to be revised to reflect the brand values and to be up-to-date. The study clarifies that core values shall guide the internal work so that the correct message is conveyed in the external communication, where the core values are expressed indirectly. A website for an event should represent the brand in both structure and content. It is therefore important that the core values are reflected in usability as well as in pictures and text.
