Jammu and Kashmir are frequently referred to be "heaven on earth." According to the Farsi couplet, if there is heaven on earth, it is this, this, and this (Amir Khusrau) (Amir Khusrau). The couplet piqued the interest of various kingdoms interested in ruling over Kashmir. The Mughals had been interested in Kashmir since the beginning of their rule in India in 1526. Their first effort to take the tiny Himalayan country occurred in 1528, under the reign of Babur, the founder of the Mughal Dynasty. The foundation of the Sultanate in Kashmir was laid by Shah Mir in 1339 AD, and for 216 years this family ruled over Kashmir, which is known as the imperial period in the history of Kashmir. This period was a blessing for Kashmirs, as they were victims of oppressive rule and political instability in the last period of Hindu rule. Shahmir abolished arbitrary taxes as soon as he took over the government. During this period, Kashmiris have been fortunate to see strong rulers like Shahab-ud-Din and Zain-ul-Abidin who, with their intelligence and broader perspective, elevate their status from a mer

This study concentrates on the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and on those displaced people who, for the past six and a half decades, have remained invisible against the high profile background of the conflict between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir region. Their difficult situation arises in large part from the identity-based politics of Kashmir Valley which has led to the failure of the state (both national and regional) fully to respond to their very significant conflict-induced displacement resettlement requirements. This essay will address two distinct types of displacement which o

The purpose of this research paper is to highlight the history of the Pakistani-Indian Kashmir conflict. Kashmir is an unresolved Partition issue and a barrier to improving ties between Pakistan and India. India and Pakistan became separate nations with the division of the subcontinent in 1947. The tragedy of Kashmir did not begin with the division of the subcontinent in 1947, but can be traced back to 1846, when the British rulers of India sold Kashmir to a Hindu Maharaja through the Treaty of Amritsar. When the subcontinent was eventually divided into Pakistan and India, the majority of Kash
