Abstract:

W studium zostały omówione zagadnienia dotyczące granic historycznych Kaszub i związków ich mieszkańców z Kościołem katolickim. Autorka podjęła próbę ustalenia, czy konfesja miała wpływ na utrzymanie polskości na tym specyficznym terenie. Kaszuby są bowiem regionem Polski, w którym tradycje kaszubskie i polskie (w tym również religijne) kultywuje się jako równoważne. Opierając się na opracowaniach historycznych i językoznawczych oraz wybranych tekstach literackich, można założyć, że naród kaszubski dzięki przynależności do Kościoła katolickiego nie uległ germanizacji, jak to miało miejsce na ziemi pomorskiej, zdominowanej w XIX w. przez protestantyzm.

Abstract:

Abstract The paper investigates the biometric characteristics natural Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) regeneration in the Kaszuby Lake District, which is beyond the acknowledged Norway spruce range, with the natural regeneration in the Augustów Forest situated deep within the natural range, Warmia, at the edge of the natural range and in the West-Pomerania Lake District far beyond the natural range. For each region, four tree stands with similar light conditions on the forest floor were selected, including two cambisols and two brunic arenosols. All sites contained naturally regenerating spruces 16–17 years of age. The features of the forest stand and the biometric features of the saplings were determined for the selected stands on circular research plots. Altogether, the characteristicts of 400 saplings (100 in each region) were measured and analyzed using basic descriptive statistics. ANOVA with the Tukey’s multiple comparison test was performed to compare the features of forest stands and the natural regeneration of spruce in each region. The degree of interrelation between regeneration features was described by Pearson’s, ‘r’ factor or Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. A discriminatory analysis was carried out to determine the set of regeneration features differentiating regions from each other. The features of regeneration that differed between regions the most were: height of regeneration, basal diameter, mean height increment, and mean basal diameter increment of the saplings. The parameters for Warmia and the West-Pomerania Lake District were similar. The Augustów Forest showed the lowest values for the regeneration parameters, while the Kaszuby Lake District produced the highest values. The regeneration in the Kaszuby Lake District was markedly different from all other regions as indicated by more dynamic growth. Additionally, this population shows a great distinctness, indicating adaptation to local environmental conditions, which may be proof for the insular presence hypothesis of spruce in this region. Due to their good quality, spontaneously developing natural regenerations in the Kaszuby Lake District should be supported by appropriate cutting and silvicultural measures.

W artykule omówione zostały relacje między faktografią a fikcją w reportażu literackim. W tekście zaproponowany został termin narracja quasi-faktyczna, opisujący typową dla gatunków dokumentalnych figurę retoryczną, amplifikującą obrazowanie. Druga kategoria: narracja faktoidalna jest intencjonalnym i nieuprawnionym w pisarstwie reportażowym przekłamaniem. Propozycja teoretyczna, odnosząca się do tradycji literaturoznawczej sięgającej międzywojnia, została omówiona na przykładzie twórczości autorów dawnych i współczesnych, między innymi Wandy Melcer, Melchiora Wańkowicza, Hanny Krall, Anny Kaszuby-Dębskiej, Wojciecha Jagielskiego i Anny Fryczkowskiej, autorki narracji faktoidalnej. Mosaic of Truth: Quasi-factual Narratives in Literary Reportage The article discusses the relation between the factography and the fiction in literary reportage. The text proposes the term of quasi-factual narrative, which describes a rhetorical figure typical for the documentary genres amplifying their descriptivity. Second category: factual narrative is an intentional distortion that is unauthorised in the reportage genre. The theoretical proposal referring back to the tradition of literary studies that dates back to the interwar period was discussed using the example of oeuvre of old and contemporary authors such as Wanda Melder, Melchior Wańkowicz, Hanna Krall, Anna Kaszuba-Dębska, Wojciech Jagielski and Anna Fryczkowska – the author of factual narrative.

Abstract:

The article offers a critical discussion of Anna Kaszuba-Dębska’s book Bruno. Epoka genialna [Bruno. The Age of Genius]. The reviewer argues that the main feature of Kaszuba-Dębska narrative is its heterogeneity; it manifests itself through the renouncement of the authorial voice, which it replaced by a dense tissue of quotations, as well as through the extensive discussion of cultural contexts and the lack of a consistently outlined dominant theme organizing the course of the protagonist’s life. For this reason, the reviewer regards Kaszuba-Dębska’s publication as a text reminiscent of a silva rerum (cf. commonplace book), whose heterogeneity, however, seems to stem from the author’s lack of control over her material, rather than from an attempt to cross the borders of the biographical genre.

Abstract:

Artykuł dotyczy podstawowych tendencji w opisach literatury kaszubskojęzycznej, portretującej nie-Kaszubów (Florian Ceynowa, Hieronim Derdowski, Aleksander Majkowski, Jan Rompski). Zasadniczo daje się tutaj wyznaczyć tendencje sympatii i antypatii. Pierwsza pojawia się głównie w stosunku do Polaków, którzy postrzegani są z perspektywy wspólnej walki z germanizacją. Jednakże nie jest to spójna tendencja, ponieważ już u założyciela dyskursu tożsamości kaszubskiej Floriana Ceynowy daje się zauważyć krytykę polskiego modelu społecznego i narodowych cech charakterologicznych. Druga, odwrotna tendencja przedstawiania innych i obcych najsilniej objawia się w literaturze kaszubskiej wobec niemieckiego żywiołu narodowego. Niemal zawsze pełnił on funkcję przykładu przemocy i zła. Pojawiają się wszakże odstępstwa i bywa, że Niemcy opisywani są z szacunkiem i podziwem. Wobec Żydów literatura kaszubska nie zajmuje konsekwentnego stanowiska, co wynika z małej liczebności tej grupy społecznej na Pomorzu.Obcy/inni przedstawieni w literaturze kaszubskiej są dla Kaszubów zagrożeniem pod względem liczebności, cywilizacji czy kultury. Stąd literaci kaszubscy w swych kreacjach stale przeciwstawiają domowy raj zewnętrznym czynnikom kulturowym. Przybysze spoza Kaszub przynoszą ze sobą chciwość, rozpustę, bezideowość, rzadko kiedy inspirując pozytywnymi cechami. Stają się zatem kolonizatorami Kaszubów, którzy utrzymują władzę w wymiarze państwowym a czasami i religijnym.

Abstract:

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie językowej kreacji Kaszubów w powieści Pawła Huellego Śpiewaj ogrody. Kaszubi w powieści to prastara grupa etniczna mająca silną tradycję i własny język. Są to ludzie bardzo pracowici. Mężczyźni zajmują się głównie pracą na morzu – łowieniem ryb. Ważną dla nich wartością jest wiara (w Boga i moce nadprzyrodzone). Dla Niemców i Polaków zamieszkujących Pomorze Kaszubi są grupą gorszą, posługującą się narzeczem. Kaszubi nie umieją pisać po polsku. Mogą wykonywać tylko prace usługowe. Językowej kreacji Kaszubów służą przede wszystkim leksyka wartościująca, wyliczenia, wykrzyknienia i pytania retoryczne. Mimo że stereotypowe spojrzenie na Kaszubów już od czasów średniowiecza jest negatywne, sposób ich prezentacji przez Pawła Huellego w powieści Śpiewaj ogrody można uznać za pozytywny. To silna grupa połączona wspólną tradycją. Autor ukazuje powolny koniec tej tradycji, który może doprowadzić do upadku wspólnoty etnicznej.

Mają one następujące wykładnie onomastyczne: 1) ‘miejsce, w którym księciu pomorskiemu Subisławowi lub Samborowi przyśnili się Matka Boska z Dzieciątkiem w koronie drzewa oliwkowego lub anioł z gałązką oliwną albo cysters z gałązką oliwną ułożoną na krzyż, i na pamiątkę tego snu wzniesiono tu klasztor’, 2) ‘miejscowość z klasztorem, którego patronką jest Święta Oliwa’, 3) ‘miejsce, w którym naród wybrany wędrujący przez Kaszuby stanowiące ziemię obiecaną miał jeszcze oliwę’, 4) ‘miejsce zawarcia pokoju oliwskiego’, 5) ‘miejsce, w którym jest katedra wyglądająca jak ulana’. Pełnią one funkcję objaśniającą i prestiżotwórczą.

W ten sposób narracyjny zastosował się również zespół przygotowujący wystawę stałą w Bibliotece.

The Tuchel Heath (Tucheler Heide, Bóry Tucholskie) and Kashubia (Kassubei, Kaszuby), the two regions comprising the geographical region known as Pomerelia (roughly the area of the “Polish Corridor”), came into Prussian possession with annexations from Poland in 1772, when Friedrich II seized most of what would become the provinces of Poznania and West Prussia from the ailing Polish Republic. These territories, some liked to imagine, resembled the North American frontier. Friedrich II apparently compared it to Canada and “jokingly named the inhabitants his Iroquois.” Gustav Freytag immortalized Friedrich's arrival on the frontier in his work Bilder aus der deutschen Vergangenheit, characterizing the place as “an abandoned land, without law, without authority; it was a wasteland.” Certainly, the harsh climate, the sprawling pine forests and barrens, and the impoverished populace suggested a certain affinity. In one description of the region from 1879, the author depicted the Slavic game poacher “as a red Indian on the warpath.”

Abstract:

A multi-temporal digital terrain models [DTM] study of a coastal cliff section at Kaszuby Coast (northern Poland) is presented in this paper. The analytical study was based on five LiDAR-derived DTM acquired between 2010 and 2016. The main idea was to compare changes year by year or every two years (depending on the available material). The DTM were analysed using various geoprocessing techniques, and as a result the map of slope and the gradient of maximum changes in z-value were prepared. The analysis of the temporal variations of these parameters were also prepared and allowed to visualize and track the landslides that occurred within the cliff. What is more, the areas of sediment increasement and decreasement, as well as the average rates of vertical displacement within the landslides and sediment balance on the beach were estimated. The studies allowed also to discuss the interrelation between the mass wasting processes and the protective infrastructure on the seashore. The information gathered allows us to find the mechanisms and development of landslides on the steep cliff coast.

Abstract:

The subject matter of the article is the way in which the rural population of two regions, namely Kielce and Opoczno, sees their language. Field studies were conducted in 2018, involving mainly the oldest residents of the village of Lasocin, Kielce County (1993–1997 and later) and 40 villages in Opoczno County in 2018. The responses, recorded using a voice recorder, show that they treat dialect as a variety of language of a limited geographical range: mainly local (borders of one village, several neighbouring villages); regional (e.g. Silesia, Kaszuby, Kielce, Opoczno, Podhale, Kurpie and others), characteristic of the oldest generation. The dialect is also, in their opinion, a vital indicator of local identity, an essential element of community ties (cf. mówić po nasemu). The dialect in the consciousness of the speakers is distinguished by certain linguistic features from the phonetic subsystem, e.g. a narrowed vowel articulation a→o, e→i, y, articulation broadening i, y→e, e.g. piełka, bieł, beła, labialisation of the initial o, denasalisation of nasal vowels ą→o, ę→e, and lexis, e.g. kaj, źmioki, zaściegacka, podwyrze, plindze, nizinier.

Information on Potamogeton hybrids, their identification, taxonomy, ecology and distribution has not been sufficiently recognised yet. Based on characters of P. x salicifolius (= P. perfoliatus x P. lucens) from a new locality in Poland - the Gatno lake (the Kaszuby Lakeland in NW Poland) - general comments on Potamogeton hybrids identification are introduced. The description of P. x salicifolius morphology from the Gatno lake are presented. Analysis of quantitative morphological characters of these specimens provided new information on variability of this taxon. The distribution map of P. x salicifolius in Poland, the original draft of P. x salicifolius based on specimens from the Gatno lake and the table with comparison of P. x salicifolius and the characters of parental species are also provided.

Abstract:

Abstract The Kaszuby Lake District is located beyond the natural range of Norway spruce, however its share in local forest stands is considerable (14.8%) and its vitality and growth are here not less than within the natural range. The study presents the results of stock-taking of natural regeneration of Norway spruce in this region in year 2002 and 2012 and the relevant silvicultural recommendations. The stock of spruce natural regeneration was taken using the electronic database of the Regional Headquarters of State Forests in Gdańsk. The regeneration was put into following categories: seedlings (height below 0.5 m), lower advanced growth (height above 0.5 m and DBH below 7 cm), higher advanced growth (height above 3 m and DBH above 7 cm) and undergrowth (with dominating self sown spruce). In total 20 834 ha of Norway spruce natural regenerations were listed in year 2002 and 26 016 ha in year 2012 (increase by 24.9%). Most of them occur in fresh sites suited for mixed deciduous forests (LMśw) - in years 2002 and 2012 respectively 52.5% and 50.1%, and fresh sites suited for mixed coniferous forests (BMśw) - in years 2002 and 2012 respectively 30.4% and 32%. The increase of natural regeneration of Norway spruce in this period was connected with the 23.6% decrease in volume of spruce stands in age of above 40 years. Majority of spontaneously arriving spruce regenerations turn to the undergrowth, because of unfavorable light conditions under canopy and much to high density of seedlings and advanced growth. Good quality advanced growth on suited forest sites should be uncovered by thinning cuttings and consequently included into the future multispecies stands, with Norway spruce share up to 30%.

The genus Iselma belongs to the most basal subfamily Eleticinae and it is strictly distributed in the western portion of southern Africa. The taxonomy of this group was previously treated, but it is still incomplete and unclear. In this contribution we clarified some taxonomic misinterpretations and we describe nine new species: I. audisioi sp. n., I. cedarbergensis sp. n., I. elephantula sp. n., I. fontisamarae sp. n., I. kamanjabi sp. n., I. kaszabi sp. n., I. lorenzettii sp. n., I. mimica sp. n., I. stellaris sp. n.. The following new synonymies are proposed: I. analis Kaszab, 1953 = I. simillima Kaszab, 1953; I. hirsuta (Thunberg, 1791) = I. ursus (Thunberg, 1791). This taxonomic improvement required the proposal of a new updated key to the species. New faunistic records for several species are also included, and the phenomenon of extreme endemicity in this genus is highlighted.

Abstract:

Podstawową funkcją kaszubskojęzycznej literatury od samych jej początków – to jest już od ponad 170 lat – aż po dzień dzisiejszy wydaje się być zachowanie własnego „ja” Kaszubów, którzy dzięki więzi wywodzącej się z dziedzictwa kulturowego są odrębną wspólnotą etniczną. Czytelne dla literatury kaszubskiej motywy, figury czy obrazy, które wykształciły się w jej obrębie i są źródłem jej siły i kreacji, tworzą bogatą strukturę znaczeń oraz pretendują tę literaturę do pełnienia funkcji mitotwórczych. Współcześnie w literaturze kaszubskiej jak w lustrze odbijają się zmiany zachodzące w samoświadomości kulturowej najmłodszego pokolenia jej twórców i odbiorców. Literatura próbuje „oswajać” zjawiska globalne z impetem wdzierające się w kaszubską przestrzeń kulturową. W edukacji szkolnej język kaszubski i literatura w nim tworzona zagościły na stałe z początkiem lat dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku. Brakowało jednak nowych tekstów literackich kaszubskich autorów, a w szczególności prozy. Środowiska kaszubskie zareagowały na ten brak, organizując w 1995 roku Ogólnopolski Konkurs Prozatorski im. Jana Drzeżdżona. Dopiero w 2001 roku światło dzienne ujrzał pierwszy podręcznik z ćwiczeniami Kaszëbë. Zemia i lëdze. Podręcznik do języka kaszubskiego z ćwiczeniami, napisany przez nauczycielkę Danutę Pioch z myślą o dzieciach z klas I–III szkoły podstawowej. Zaraz potem zaczęło pojawiać się mnóstwo kolejnych podręczników i wypisów z literatury. Osobnym niemal już zjawiskiem staje się literatura kaszubska tworzona na potrzeby szkoły czy też raczej dla „odbiorcy szkolnego”. Krąg czytelników literatury kaszubskiej jest ograniczony. Kaszubszczyznę wprowadzono do systemu oświaty stosunkowo niedawno, zatem szczególnego rodzaju analfabetyzm wśród dorosłych użytkowników języka kaszubskiego, nieczytanie i niepisanie w tym języku, jest powszechne. Dlatego ważne dla literatury kaszubskiej są nowoczesne metody jej upowszechniania: media elektroniczne, audiobooki czy e-książki. Kaszubski bohater literacki stał się także postacią z gry komputerowej Stark Remus. Nowoczesne techniki, w tym media elektroniczne, są również pomocne w procesach edukacyjnych. Ich właściwe wykorzystanie może wzmocnić siłę przekazu literackiego tekstu, a co za tym idzie – także moc namysłu tożsamościowego Kaszubów.

Janusz Bieniak’s study Zarębowie i Nałęcze a królobójstwo w Rogoźnie (The Zaręba and Nalęcz Families and the Regicide in Rogoźno – 2018), alongside important discoveries and interesting proposals of a prosopographic and genealogical nature, has as its main aim to discredit information in the sources concerning the participation (possibly even direct participation) of those families in the crime committed in 1296 in Rogoźno. The crime occurred through the agency of the Margraves of Brandenburg, of the older (Johannine) line of the House of Ascania/ Anhalt. This article takes issue with several aspects of Bieniak’s argument. Bieniak questions my earlier view of the probable recognition of the Nałęcz family of the suzerainty of the Margraves over their Greater Polish possessions situated to the north of the middle and lower stream of the River Noteć, that is on formerly Pomeranian territory (centred on Człopa), which could of course lay them open to the charge of treachery, since in Poland there was no consciousness or understanding of German claims (essentially rights) to the region of Pomerania. At the same time, in terms of German law, from 1231 Pomerania, including, of course, the territory of Nadnotecie still remaining in the thirteenth ‑century and – from a Polish perspective – of the former Pomeranian Zanotecie, remained within the gift of the German Empire within the fief of the Margraves of Brandenburg. Bieniak decisively rejects any reckoning in Poland in the thirteenth century with any kind of claim of the (in any case weakened) German state as a whole (Bieniak calls this the Empire), and even more of Brandenburg, the rulers of which as conquerors had no interest in the historical borders of Pomerania and did not even know them, but were driven only by brutal force and not by any legal titles. Of course, they ignored these, and the Nałęcz and Zaręba families did not see themselves as subordinate to anyone, just like everyone in Poland. Thus, they must be exonerated from participation in the crime of 1296. In this controversy, I wish to point out even more forcibly than previously (and, indeed, quite frequently) that the Nałęcz family, just like the Greater Poland princes (an example from 1253 is cited) and the knightly families settled in Pomerania (the Wedlow, Liebenow, Güntersberg, and Borkow families, 1296–1297, and the Święc family, 1307) knew the suzerain competences of the Margraves and recognized them – of course, under military pressure – over the castles and towns held by the Poles on the left bank of the Noteć (Santok–Drżeń–Wieleń– Czarnków–Ujście) along with their hinterlands, thus becoming Brandenburg and Polish subjects. In fact, the few sources do not permit such a maximum treatment of all the Brandenburg claims at the end of the thirteenth century, but that becomes obvious in subsequent decades of the fourteenth century, when it is by the intervention of the Margraves with support of the Nałęcz, Güntersberg, and Wedlow families that the territories and castles and towns of the eastern lands of Nadnotęcie are seized. That is why reference was made even to the rights raised by the Nałęcz family (of Ostroróg) to several villages in Puszcza Notecka near Drezdenko, most obviously because of those brought in the dowry of Małgorzata Nałęczówna of Szamotuły around 1330 to the German von der Osten lords in Drezdenko, when in 1408 they sold them along with their castle to the Teutonic Knights. On the margins of the article, I also offer a “gentle” defence of my position (also criticized by Bieniak) in the matter of the identification – in a contemporary entry in the annals of the Cistercians of Kołbacz – of Jakub “Kaszuby”, the principle perpetrator (and the only one known by name) of the regicide, with the German knight Jakub Güntersberg, who did, indeed, come from Kaszubia, since in 1296 he had left the service of the Dukes of Western Pomerania (from 1295, the Wołogoski dukedom), having up till then a fief in the lands near Stargard. In this case, “Kasube” was not an ethnic description, but only a geographical‑political one.

The Chinese species of the genus Oodescelis Motschulsky, 1845 are revised. Fifteen species belonging to five subgenera are listed. O. (Acutoodescelis) emmerichi Kaszab, 1940 is proposed as subspecies of O. (A.) punctatissima (Fairmaire, 1886) [O. (A.) punctatissima emmerichi Kaszab, 1940, stat. n.]. A new synonym is established: O. (A.) pyripenis Ren, 1999 = O. (A.) punctatissima (Fairmaire, 1886), syn. n. based on the morphological characters, geographic distribution, and assessment on the molecular phylogeny [except O. (A.) pyripenis]. A new subspecies and a new species are described: O. (A.) punctatissima henanana Bai & Ren, subsp. nov. from Henan and O. (Planoodescelis) lii Bai & Ren, sp. nov. from Hubei. Furthermore, the first and preliminary molecular phylogeny of the genus is presented, and the used markers may be helpful to reconstitute the phylogenetic relations within the tribe Platyscelidini.

This is the first contribution on the blister beetles (Meloidae) of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), but new records from all countries of the Arabian Peninsula are also included, with the addition of some species never recorded before from this region, thus updating the previous checklist. Two species from U.A.E. are described: Hycleus pirata n. sp. (distributed also in Oman) and Hycleus dunalis n.sp., both belonging to different groups of species characterized by an unmodified mesosternum. Mylabris (Mylabris) desertica n.sp., Hycleus pintoi n.sp., and Hycleus fraudulentus n. sp. from Saudi Arabia, are also described. The following species previously referred to different mylabrine genera are here included in the genus Hycleus as new combinations: H. arabicus (Pallas, 1781), H. borchmannianus (Kaszab, 1983), H. gratiosus (Marseul, 1870), H. ligatus (Marseul, 1870), H. pseudobrunnipes (Kaszab, 1983), H. scabratus (Klug, 1845), H. scapularis (Klug, 1845). Coryna pitcheri Kaszab, 1983 is doubtfully referred to Hycleus. The tenebrionid genus Indenicmosoma Ardoin, 1964 (type species indochinensis Kaszab, 1940), subfamily Lagriinae, is distributed in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Newly collected specimens from different Palaearctic and Oriental Asian regions are presented, among them also one species new to science from Thailand (Indenicmosoma paicum sp. nov.). New synonym: Indenicmosoma nathani Ardoin, 1964 (Indenicmosoma ardoini Kaszab, 1970 syn. nov.). All treated eight Asian species are figured, and a species key is compiled.

In order to clarify the identity of Paracacoxenus kaszabi Okada, 1973, a species described from Mongolia, the morphological structures of one male paratype, collected at 1,750 m altitude, were analyzed and redescribed. In order to clarify the identity of Paracacoxenus kaszabi Okada, 1973, a species described from Mongolia, the morphological structures of one male paratype, collected at 1,750 m altitude, were analyzed and redescribed. In addition, one of the male specimens, previously referred to in literature as ‘sp. aff. kaszabi’, is restudied and described as Paracacoxenus macaisp. nov. (type locality: Schmelz, Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, Province of Bolzano, Region of Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy). W 1943 roku kaszubski pisarz Jan Rompski napisał powieść zatytułowanąWurvanô spjéva, którą można odczytać jako metaforę projektu narodowegoskierowanego do Kaszubów, stworzonego przez inteligencki krąg przyjaciółw realiach II Rzeczypospolitej lat 30. XX wieku. Jan Rompski był współzałożycielem i ideologiem grupy ideowo-literackiej Zrzeszyńców, która kontynuowała tradycje ruchu kaszubskiego, swoimi korzeniami sięgającego pierwszej połowy XIX stulecia. Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, co stanowiło filary projektu Zrzeszyńców, a także jakie były jego podstawowe założenia, mające pomóc w kreacji wyobrażenia narodu, którego przedstawicielami się czuli. Należało się również przyjrzeć, jak Jan Rompski przeniósł owe założenia na karty powieści Wurvanô spjéva. Analizując powieść i teksty publicystyczne Zrzeszyńców, posłużyłem się metodą krytycznej analizy dyskursu. Jeśli naród to zbiór elementów połączony jakimiś więzami, to tym, co spaja Kaszubów, są: język, kultura i polityka.

The genus Microplitis Förster, 1862 (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Microgastrinae) was studied from northern Iran. Specimens were collected using Malaise traps during 2010–2011. A total of 13 species were collected and identified, of which six species are recorded for the first time from Iran: M. cebes Nixon, 1970, M. docilis Nixon, 1970, M. eremitus Reinhard, 1880, M. kaszabi Papp, 1980, M. pallidipennis Tobias, 1964 and M. varipes (Ruthe, 1860). Two species M. kaszabi and M. pallidipennis are new records for the west Palaearctic region. A new species, Microplitis alborziensis Abdoli & Talebi sp. nov., is described and illustrated. The number of species of Microplitis in Iran is now raised from 17 to 24. A faunistic list, an identification key to all known Iranian species and brief diagnoses and illustrations for all species that have been collected in this study are provided. The validity of the new species is supported by DNA barcoding.

In addition to a previously published study about Siberian Colletes species, we here further report on poorly known species. Twenty six species are currently known from Siberia with C. cinerascens Morawitz 1893, C. kaszabi Kuhlmann 2002, and C. ebmeri Kuhlmann 2002 found in Russia for the first time and C. wacki Kuhlmann 2002 is newly recorded from the Asian part of Russia. The male of C. wacki is here described for the first time and a lectotype designated for the closely related C. conradti Noskiewicz 1936 to clarify the taxonomy of this group. Colletes uralensis Noskiewicz 1936 was erroneously recorded from Russia and is removed from the list of Russian species. Images and updated distribution maps are provided for the closely related C. kaszabi and C. uralensis as well as for C. conradti and C. wacki to facilitate their identification. An updated checklist of the 42 species of Colletes so far known from Russia is provided.

The taxonomy and bionomics of the southern African meloid genus Prolytta are reviewed. First-instar larvae of four species (P. coriacea, P. pallidipennis, P. lucida and P. semilineata) are described and keyed. The morphology of the specialised setae found in the larvae of this genus is discussed and compared with that of other blister beetles. Based on adult and larval morphology, two assemblages of species, the pallidipennis-group and the lucida-group, are recognised. Included are a key and catalogue of species, taxonomic remarks and several new faunistic records. Two new synonymies, Prolytta lucidicollis Kaszab, 1967 = Prolytta coriacea Kaszab, 1967 and Prolytta sumptuosa (Laporte de Castelnau, 1840) = Prolytta nitidula (Fabricius, 1775), are proposed.

Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie kierunków rozwoju wiejskiego zagospodarowania hotelowego w Polsce w latach 2012–2017. Przedmiotem badań są skategoryzowane hotele. Cel zrealizowano na podstawie analizy zmian wielkości i struktury bazy hotelowej, a w szczególności na podstawie analizy kartograficznej syntetycznego wskaźnika opartego na zmodyfikowanych wskaźnikach poziomu zagospodarowania turystycznego: Baretje’a-Deferta i gęstości bazy noclegowej. W badanym okresie hotele na obszarach wiejskich rozwijały się szybciej niż na obszarach zurbanizowanych. Rozwój ten dotyczył przede wszystkim obiektów luksusowych. Obszarami koncentracji wiejskiego zagospodarowania hotelowego są przede wszystkim tereny wiejskie największych obszarów metropolitalnych, jak również tradycyjne obszary wiejskie Wielkopolski, Warmii, Kaszub, Pogórza Karpackiego i doliny Pilicy. W badanym okresie wiejskie zagospodarowanie hotelowe rozwijało się przede wszystkim na południu, jak również na wschodzie Polski.

The monotypic genus Vietnamaptera Zhang et al. 2010 was erected for the conspicuous apterous Carventinae species V. bogiessa from Vietnam. Aradid collections from Yunnan Province in China contained three new species belonging to this genus, which are described and figured.
