Pre-coagulation enhanced by KMnO4 before ultrafiltration (KCUF) was compared with normal pre-coagulation by alum (CUF) in the ultrafiltration of water from the Songhua River, China. It detects and tracks the movement of vehicles in the video, gained from the stationary video camera, which has the view of some crossroad. This chapter discusses how migrant workers of Kanagawa City Union (KCU), who are largely from Latin American countries, participated in the annual negotiation meeting with government representatives and the union's well-known activity called ‘Day Long Action’. Japanese is predominantly used in these events, with little effort to translate for non-Japanese-speaking participants. While the previous chapter looks at an instance where migrant protesters challenge the gap between their visibility and audibility, this chapter shows that they strategically use such a gap for their own benefit. For some migrants, being unable to understand Japanese is not a hindrance but a convenient pretext to follow what they are ordered to do. In this regard, silence gives them an opportunity to perform their loyalty to the trade unions they belong to. Demonstration of such loyalty is a key strategy for KCU migrant members because it is Japanese unionists who ultimately handle migrants' labour disputes.

A brief historical perspective of the evolution of the Infosys KM effort is discussed and a description of the Infosys Knowledge Shop (KShop), Infosys’s integrated knowledge portal that we have built, is given. The real test of the maturity of any organizational initiative is when it becomes invisible, a part of the normal way people work. The aim of the KM initiative is thus to move towards a culture where knowledge sharing is built into the organizational fabric. The chapter elaborates on one key mechanism that has been devised to help create such a sharing culture — the Knowledge Currency Units (KCUs) scheme. Some of the key challenges and success factors the company has faced are discussed, and the approaches used to manage those are described.

The equivalent flexural stiffness of contact interfaces in the rod-fastened rotor is the key concern for accurate rotor dynamic performance analysis.
