Abstract:
Metacognition plays an important role in problem-solving activities. It will help students to find what the problem is and understand how to get the solution. This study aimed at describing the student's metacognition process based on Keirsey's personality types. This research used qualitative method with descriptive approach and it was conducted involving eight students who have equal mathematical abilities and the same gender. The selected students represented Keirsey’s personality types. They were carried out through two types of tests, namely the Keirsey Temperament Sorter and the Mathematics Ability Test. The result showed that each personality type could through indicators of the metacognition process. However, there are some indicator components missed. Rational and idealist student have not been able to carry out the metacognition process in the regulation stage properly. Guardian and artisan student have been able to carry out the metacognition process well. This study suggests the teacher can facilitate students in each personality type by determining the appropriate learning model, learning activities, and assessments to obtain better results.

Abstract:
The two models of personality proposed by the Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS) and by the short-form Revised Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQR-S) both propose measures of extraversion-introversion, but in other respects the two models are quite different. While the KTS proposes measures of sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling, and judging-perceiving, the EPQR-S proposes measures of neuroticism, psychoticism, and a lie scale. In order to test the comparability of the two indices of extraversion-introversion and the independence of the other constructs, a sample of 554 undergraduate students attending a university-sector college in South Wales, in the United Kingdom, completed the KTS and the EPQR-S. The data demonstrate that the Keirsey Temperament Sorter scales map in quite a complex way onto the model of personality proposed by the EPQR-S.

Social media is full of unstructured data and content generated in a decentralized way, and it is possible to analyze these data to identify patterns or predict future events. The analysis of these data gives rise to social media mining, an area that uses data mining techniques to extract knowledge from social data. From how the user presents himself in social media, how he/she interacts, what he/she shares and posts, it is possible to analyze his/her behavior by assigning a virtual identity, called virtual persona, and, from the behavior of the virtual persona, to predict characteristics, such as the temperament. Temperament is a set of natural tendencies of the mind that is related to the processes of perceiving, analyzing and making daily decisions. This dis-sertation aims to identify the temperament of users (virtual personas) based on D. Keirsey’s model, who classifies the temperament in Artisan, Guardian, Idealist and Rational. As a result, an average accuracy of 88.37% was obtained for the SVM algorithm for the classification of temperaments for LIWC with 6-fold cross validation.

Abstract:
This research has as objective the evaluation and development of a methodology for entrepreneurs selection and identification based in the Keirsey & Bates (1984) works. To achieve this objective the studies of Myers (1995), Kroeger & Thuesen (1988) besides Keirsey & Bates (1984) were central. By a qualitative exploratory study the research seeks for similarity among the Santa Maria incubator s entrepreneurs. It was applied to all the entrepreneurs and some workers the KEIRSEY TAMPERAMENT SORTER (Portuguese version). As a base for the study a bibliographic research of the following themes as been conducted: Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurs characteristics, Organization Life Cycle, Factors of organizations failure, Personality theories (basically the type theories). Based in the study it was possible to correlate existing theories and the development of a methodology for the selection and the bettering of the incubator s entrepreneurs. At the end, two models are suggested: the first for the selection of new entrepreneur for the incubator, the second for the selection of the employee of the companies already created.

Abstract:
The temperament theory of David Kersey indicates that each individual was born with a disposition to act and behave in certain ways according to his type. People with different temperaments have different interpretations of events, will react to these interpretations in different manners, will make choices based on different criteria, and will deal with situations in different manners. Keirseys theory is also important for education: teachers and parents should take temperament into account in order to improve their understanding of the students. This thesis aims to make Keirseys (ideal) types (ISTP, ESFJ etc.) more concrete by fleshing them out into fictional characters: the Barone family of the TV series Everybody Loves Raymond. Throughout the episodes of the sitcom, we can see three-dimensional and believable characters: ordinary people living ordinary lives according to their temperament types. In Everybody Loves Raymond we have in action, like in real life, an ESFP (Raymond), an ESTJ (Debra), an ESFJ (Marie), an ISTP (Frank) and a NF/SJ (Robert). They make easier to recognize, understand and discuss different types of temperament on important educational matters (learning, conception of the school, guilt, duty etc.)

Abstract:
Personality tests have long been utilized to assist in the assessment of individuals. This study analyzes David Keirsey's temperament types and college students intending to major in accounting. The recruiting and retaining of students with qualities and characteristics desired by the accounting profession has historically presented a challenge for accounting departments in higher education (Corkren, Parks, and Morgan, 2013). Relationships were used to determine similarities between various traits of the respondents. Gender, having taken an accounting related high school course, accounting-related work experience and level of college education were all compared with the expectations of Keirsey's temperament types. Students attending a small liberal arts teaching university (Concord University in Athens, West Virginia) and students attending a large research institution (Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia) were used for the study. A quantitative research design was used to conduct this study. Descriptive statistics were utilized to determine frequencies, averages and variability. Chi-square (χ²) analyzed the number of responses in different temperament categories to determine if actual results were significantly different in determining accounting as a major field of study. Students completed a survey consisting of demographic characteristics and the Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS II) questionnaire. Personality assessments are increasingly used as a management tool. The findings of this study can benefit employers, college recruiters, educators and students.

Abstract:
Software development requires teams due to size, scope, and location of the project. A few software development team structures have been proposed based on tasks and job descriptions, but no team structure or model has been proposed to assemble software development teams based on individual characteristic and trait differences. This thesis presents two studies that support the argument that a new model needs to be developed for assembling software development teams. A roadmap for developing such a model is presented as the response to the inapplicability of applying current models to software development team assembly.

Abstract:
This writer reviews some of the most influential factors found in studies of adult childparent relationships, including divorce, surrogate parents, coresidency, caregiving, proximity, family size, and gender. Focusing on the "feminine tilt" in family relationships, research reveals explanations such as caregiving, kinkeeping, and gender identity issues. The author proposes the possibility that the female bias in parent-child relationships has more to do with subjective thought process than biological sex. An analysis was conducted on mailed-in-surveys for 264 Kentucky adults, ages 30 to 49, who completed questions pertaining to their communication and closeness with their parents, and one fourth of the Keirsey Temperament Sorter regarding decision making preferences. The study found Feelers communicate significantly more with, and feel significantly closer to, parents than do Thinkers. Feeling daughters have more communication and greater closeness with parents than Thinking daughters. Feeling sons report more closeness with mothers than Thinking sons, and more communication and greater closeness to fathers than Thinking daughters. Daughters report more communication and closeness with mothers than sons. Suggestions for future research include using a much larger sample of strong temperament typed respondents.

Abstract:
For the study the Keirsey Bates Temperament Sorter was completed by 602 pharmacy students during their study period at the University of the Western Cape. The results showed that the pharmacy students had a tendency towards the Extraversion, Sensing, Feeling and Judging Personality Type Preferences. Personality Temperaments of the pharmacy students were also compared with the general population and it was found that there were statistically significant more students with the SJ Personality Temperaments and statistically significant less students with the SP Personality Temperaments in the pharmacy population than in the general population. This study very clearly points out the value of using the Keirsey Bates Temperament Sorter as an aid, not only in guiding the student in the process of career choice, but also facilitating the placing of the newly qualified pharmacist in his or her choice of practice setting.

Abstract:
Developing and maintaining a healthy work environment is an important consideration to the rail industry. Several theories have been advanced to examine, understand, and influence how workers function and interact within their working environments. These include motivational theories such as Taylor’s Theory of Scientific Management and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, models of moral develop such as developed by Kohlberg and Gilligan, theories of personality types like Myers–Brigg and Keirsey, and the theory of cultural dimensions developed by Hofstede. Positive work environments can contribute to safe and efficient operations, while negative work environments almost inevitably degrade performance and increase the potential for injury and accidents. Therefore understanding and managing these elements properly can greatly contribute to better organizational outcomes. This paper will then examine the underlying role of human behavior as determined by these theories appear to have played in 5 incidents at Metro–North Railroad in 2013–2014.

Abstract:
Literature relating to personality and entrepreneurship has focused primarily on personality characteristics of traditional entrepreneurs. The focus of this study was on personality characteristics and temperaments of potential ICT entrepreneurs. The main objective of the study was to evaluate the impact of personality characteristics as identifiers of potential ICT entrepreneurship. In order to meet this objective, the personality characteristics of the participants had to be determined. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter was used as a personality indicator, as it is a proven research instrument. Two entrepreneurial tests were used to determine entrepreneurial ability. The temperament of the individuals was ascertained, and compared to their entrepreneurial ability. The population sample used for this study was comprised of third year and honours information systems students from the University of Cape Town, and current ICT entrepreneurs. A positive relationship between the “Martian” temperaments and potential ICT entrepreneurs was found. No significant relationship between specific personality types and potential entrepreneurial ability were evident in the study. A positive connection was noticed between potential ICT entrepreneurs, and being male. Unfortunately the number of female respondents was insufficient, leading to an inconclusive result.
