Infeksi saluran kemih (ISK ) adalah suatu respon peradangan uruthelioum terhadap invasi mikroorganisme disebabkan oleh bakteri. Sekitar 54 – 67% pada anak – anak akan mengalami ISK. Konstipasi adalah ketidakmampuan melakukan evakuasi tinja secara sempurna yang terlihat dari berkurangnya frekuensi buang air besar dari biasanya, tinja lebih keras, lebih besar dan nyeri dibandingkan sebelumnya serta pada perabaan perut teraba massa tinja (skibala) Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konstipasi dengan infeksi saluran kemih pada anak. Penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah ssampel alah 39 responden dengan tehnik total sampling. data dianalisa dengan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara konstipasi dengan infeksi salutran kemih pada anak di Rumah sakit pertamedika Ummi Rostanti dengan p = 0,225.Kata kunci: Konstipansi,infeksi saluran kemi

Në këtë punim kemi trajtuar historikun e shërbimit profesional në shkollë, bazën ligjore për zgjedhjen e nëpunësve për ofrimin e shërbimeve profesionale në institucione edukative-arsimore, si dhe rolin e shërbimit profesional në shkolla. Për ta realizuar punimin, kemi trajtuar problemin në aspektin teorik, kemi bërë përgatitjen e instrumenteve për mbledhjen e të dhënave, realizimin e hulumtimit, analizën e të dhënave dhe përgatitjen e raportit. Nga analiza teorike del se nuk është punuar shumë në kompletimin e bazës ligjore që rregullon ofrimin e shërbimeve profesionale në shkollë. Edhe pse roli i shërbimit profesional në shkollë është i pazëvendësueshëm, në asnjë shkollë të Republikës së Kosovës ky shërbim nuk është i kompletuar. Nga të dhënat që kemi mbledhur konstatojmë se aktualisht në shkollat e Republikës së Kosovës ka 22 pedagogë shkolle dhe 32 psikologë shkolle, ndërsa në shkolla mungojnë mjeku dhe punëtori social. Edhe në ato shkolla ku ka filluar të inkuadrohet shërbimi profesional janë inkuadruar vetëm pedagogu ose psikologu.

Analytical chemistry is an interdisciplinary field of science related to many practical applications, such as clinical diagnostics, environmental monitoring and industrial process analysis. Over the last 50 years, chemical analytics has evolved from centralized laboratory measurements towards on-line and distributed analysis, including wearable chemical sensors for personal health monitoring. In this article I wish to reflect upon these developments in analytical chemistry, illustrated by examples from my own research. The text provides a glimpse of analytical chemistry from my personal perspective.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of a study of biostimulants Fitosporin-M, Zh (AS) + amino acids and Bionex-Kemi, Zh, (NPK 21:4:4) + ME on potato productivity indicators. As a result of1 the research, a positive effect of biostimulants on the growth and accumulation of underground biomass of Solanum tuberosum L. variety "Zakhar" was established. The analysis showed that when Solanum tuberosum L. plants of Zakhar variety are treated with Bionex-Kemi, Zh, NPK 21:4:4 + ME, the content of starch in tubers increases by 1.3 %, and when plants are treated with Fitosporin-(M, F (AS) + amino acids) - by 0.9 % in comparison with the control variant. The accumulation of underground potato biomass was more intense when using Bionex-Kemi, G, (NPK 21:4:4) + ME. For the cultivation of potatoes in the conditions of the Orenburg Cis-Urals, it is recommended to use the biostimulator Bionex-Kemi, Zh, (NPK 21:4:4) + ME (bioactivated nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizer), which stimulates plant growth and the accumulation of underground biomass.

Adequate preparation and professional development is imperative for institutional leaders and managers particularly those in the education sector with a view to equipping professionals with requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes to function to the required competency levels. The Ministry of Education (Kenya) has been spending large amounts of money on development of educational managers,through its management training agency Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI). For instance, in 2006 the annual management training budget was KShs. 250million (Kenya Education Staff Institute, 2006). The budget is likely to have gone up owing to inflation rates and escalating living standards. This study sought to analyse the influence of KEMI management training on secondary school principals‟ management practices in their administrative task areas in Kenya. The study also sought to determine whether significant differences existed in principals‘ management practices scores between principals exposed to management training and those who had not been exposed to KEMI management training. The study also sought to determine whether principals‘ management practices scores differed significantly based on school categories (provincial and district schools). The findings indicated significant differences in principals‘ management practices based on exposure to management training by KEMI, and those not exposed to such training programmes. In particular, principals exposed to KEMI management training exhibited higher scores in all administrative tasks while all principals cited challenges in financial management, legal aspects in education and resource management. Principals in provincial schools indicated having more of the best practices in management than their counterparts in district and private schools.

Abstract:
Management of resources in secondary schools by principals greatly contributes towards successful institutional programmes and projects in their respective schools. Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI) has taken an integral role in training head teachers on the management of resources. Despite KEMI training the principals on resources and management, schools remain underdeveloped as head teachers get interdicted due to mismanagement of resources. The study was, therefore, paramount in establishing the influence of KEMI training for principals on the management of resources available in secondary schools. The study adopted mixed methods, and therefore, the researcher applied qualitative and quantitative methods through concurrent triangulation design of both qualitative and quantitative data collections at the same time. The target population comprised 73 head teachers and 73 school management committee chairpersons. Using the Central limit theorem, a sample of 25 head teachers and 25 committee chairpersons was selected. Simple random and purposive sampling was used to select the samples from each category of the population; questionnaires were administered among principals, while interview schedules were conducted among school chairpersons. An observation checklist was also used to collect data from the school vicinity. Data analysis involved qualitative data being analysed in themes, while quantitative data was through descriptive statistics used in Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS 23) and presented using tables and charts. The study established that KEMI training for principals influenced their management of human resources in schools. Through KEMI training, principals acquired knowledge, skills, and attitudes to handle teachers, support staff, pupils and other persons involved in the running of schools. The study recommends that there is a need for principals to conduct staff appraisals, create a motivating and rewarding environment and establish conflict resolution mechanisms

Abstract:
Introduction. The article focuses on the analysis of solar elements in the burial rite of the Kemi Oba culture of the Early Bronze Age. Methods and materials. The material draws attention to the painting of the grave cist from Koyash (Vodnoye) village that presents a set of mythopoetic schemes and plots, their interpretation proceeds from the processes of comprehension of the outside world. Analysis. The paper identifies the ideograms on the basis of the painting of the grave cist under study: the circle with a dot in its center, the concentric circle, the triangle. The burial rite of the Kemi Oba culture focuses on the conceptualization of the afterlife in terms of observations of the solar nature, which is consistent with the prevailing Indo-European concepts of the Bronze Age. The sign of the concentric circle in the Kemi Oba culture appears as a solar symbol based on the analogies in the Indo-European mythology. The ideogram is part of the plot with dynamic character, and participates in the mythopoetic scheme based on the dichotomies: up – down, this life – afterlife in the context of the Axis Mundi idea. Four suns as part of the plot of the painted cist demonstrate the non-static solar nature, its four states, and, consequently, suggests the solar myth that has a spatio-temporal realization. Results. The cosmological picture of the world of the Kemi-Oba people includes the processes of categorization of the environment objectified through the fragmentation of the path of the sun, i.e. duality and quaternary.

This study aims to determine the model of liberal Islamic thought in the novel 'Kemi' by Adian Husaini and to analyze of the model of liberal Islamic thought in the novel "Kemi" by Adian Husaini from the perspective of Islamic education. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of literature study. The results of the study show that there are 9 models of liberal Islamic thought, and these models have begun to spread in the world of education. Therefore, a new concept is needed in the world of education, as offered by Adian Husaini, namely the concept of ta'dib.

Abstract:

 Syftet med mitt examensarbete var att ta reda på kemins roll i förskolan. Jag valde då att genomföra undersökningen med hjälp av intervjuer med pedagoger i olika förskolor. Hälften av de tillfrågade pedagogerna ansåg att de arbetade med kemi i förskolan. Elva av tolv pedagoger ansåg att kemi i förskolan gav fördelar. Det upptäckande arbetssättet som uppstår ger barnen lust att undersöka och de vågar sig på problemlösningar. Detta arbetssätt, det naturvetenskapliga, skapar en arena för lärande om de närvarande pedagogerna tar chansen att vara medupptäckare och att dessa genom diskussioner med barnen leder lärandet framåt.

Abstract:

Då målen i nuvarande läroplan, Lpo 94 inte preciserar vilka avsnitt som ska tas upp i kemiämnet i grundskolan har jag i denna studie undersökt detta. Studien omfattar en enkätundersökning som besvarats av lärare i årskurserna 7-9 och en litteraturstudie. I litteraturstudien har jag studerat läromedel och kemiundervisningen i gamla styrdokument såsom läroplaner, studieplaner, undervisningsplaner och kursplaner från 1919 och framåt. Resultatet från enkätstudien visar bl.a. att de flesta skolorna som deltagit i min studie läser kemi som ett separat ämne och utgår från någon lärobok när de lägger upp undervisningen. Litteraturstudien visade att gamla styrdokument är förvånansvärt moderna när det gäller innehåll och upplägg av kemundervisningen. Man har dock tidigare oftast mera utförligt beskrivit vad som bör tas upp. I stort sett rekommenderar man samma innehåll i kemiundervisningen genom åren men med tiden ger man mera frihet för lärarna att lägga upp undervisningen.

Abstract:
Denna undersökning har som syfte att ta reda på vad barnen i förskolan anser om att delta i kemiexperiment och vad som händer i barngruppen under experimenten. För att studera dessa frågor har jag gjort observationer med hjälp av videokamera och intervjuer av barnen som deltagit i experimenten. Barnen har visat stort intresse, engagemang, glädje och nyfikenhet vilket har genomsyrat experimenttillfällena. Resultaten i denna undersökning visar att kemiexperiment kan vara ett bra verktyg i förskolan. Barnen interagerar med varandra, associerar till tidigare erfarenheter i livet och ger uttryck för att uppleva, med många av sina sinnen.

Kemi är ett ämne som anses av många vara svårt. Syftet med det här arbetet är att få en fördjupad inblick i hur kemi skiljer sig mellan IB-programmet och naturvetenskapliga programmet. Metoden som används är en litteraturanalys av ämnesplan och läromedel. En jämförelse gjordes mellan läromedlen sinsemellan och likaså för ämnesplanen. Utgångspunkten för studien var i följande frågeställningar; hur presenteras halogenalkaner i ämnesplanen respektive läromedlen samt hur miljöperspektivet skiljer sig åt mellan läromedlen. Böckerna som analyserats är från förlagen Pearsons (IB) och Gleerups. Resultatet av studien visade att det finns stora skillnader mellan både ämnesplanen och läromedlen. I de svenska ämnesplanerna är lärandemålen översiktligt beskrivna. Ämnesplanen för IB-kemin är däremot mycket specifik. läromedlen skiljer sig också åt mycket. Läromedeljämförelsen visade att IB-kemin är innehållsrik med fokus på ämneskunskaperna av ren kemi medan svenska kemin fokuserar på miljö- och hållbar utveckling.

Abstract Syftet med den här uppsatsen är, att ta reda på vilken betydelse elevernas laborationer under grund skolan senare år har, och om laborationer i kemi bidrar till utvecklingen av förståelsen av kemi. Vidare vill jag undersöka, om eleverna tycker att laborationerna är lärorika och förstår syftet med dem. Undersökningen utfördes som en kvantitativ enkätundersökning med tre klasser i årskurs nio i grundskolan. Grundskolan delar lokaler med gymnasieskolan, vilket bidrar till samordningsmöjligheter, samt att laborationssalar, och material är bra. Resultatet visar, att eleverna har likartade åsikter om laborationernas betydelse för förståelsen av kemi. Undersökningen visar också, att eleverna tycker om laborationerna och tycker att de är lärorika, samt att laborationerna bidrar till förståelsen av kemins teori. Dessutom har diskussionerna och samarbetet under laborationen stor betydelse för lärandet av naturvetenskap.

Abstract:
Syftet med undersökningen var att se om elevernas förståelse och intresse för kemi påverkas av det sätt med vilken undervisningen bedrivs i ämnet. Arbetet bygger på en jämförande studie mellan två skolor. Den ena skolan arbetar med ett uppgiftsbaserat koncept och den andra bedriver en mer traditionell undervisning. Undersökningen består av fyra moment. Två olika typer av elevenkätundersökningar, auskultationer vid laborationer och teorilektioner, samt bedömning av elevsvar från två provfrågor vilka båda syftar till att belysa elevens förståelse för det efterfrågade. Alla moment har genomförts på de båda skolorna. Resultatet visar entydigt att de elever, som deltagit  i en uppgiftsbaserad undervisning, kan föra kemiska resonemang på en högre nivå och därmed visar de också en djupare förståelse för ämnet än vad de elever som blivit undervisade med så kallade traditionella metoder gör. Eleverna som deltagit i uppgiftsbaserad undervisning rankar kemiämnet högre  bland programmets olika ämnen jämfört med de andra eleverna. Samtidigt som de även visar ett större intresse för vidare studier inom kemi än de elever som deltagit i en mer traditionell undervisning. En anledning till skillnaderna  kan vara att eleverna i den uppgiftsbaserade undervisningen erbjuds många möjligheter till kemiska diskussioner med sina kamrater samtidigt som de uppmuntras till ett modelltänkande, vilket leder till att kemiämnet upplevs mindre abstrakt och därmed mer intressant.

Globaali talouden kasvu ja kauppa ovat kasvattaneet edelleen logististen toimintojen määrää ja monimutkaisuutta. Tämän seurauksena elinkeinoelämältä vaaditaan yhä enemmän parempaa ja edullisempaa logistista toimintaa. Yksi potentiaalinen mahdollisuus valtiolle ja kunnille on vaikuttaa logistisiin toimintoihin logistiikan osaamisen kehittämisen kautta. Logistiikan osaaminen antaa myös yrityksille mahdollisuuden saavuttaa merkittävää kilpailuetua. Tämä tutkimus liittyy läheisesti logistiikan osaamisen yhteistyö Kemissä taustatutkimukseen. Taustatutkimus suoritettiin vuoden 2011 tammikuun ja syyskuun välisenä aikana. Taustatutkimukseen osallistujat olivat Kemin kaupunki, Kemi-Tornion ammattikorkeakoulu ja Oulun yliopisto. Tavoitteena tällä tutkimuksella oli selvittää logistiikan osaamisen kehittämisedellytyksiä Kemin alueella. Tämä tutkimus on luonnollinen jatko taustatutkimukselle ja yhtenä tavoitteena on aiheen syvällisempi ymmärrys sekä tiedon tuottaminen. Tämä tutkimus on kvalitatiivinen case -tutkimus ja edustaa normatiivista tutkimusta. Tässä tutkimuksessa on käytetty konstruktiivista tutkimusotetta, joka pyrkii tietyllä tavalla yhdistämään analyyttisen mallinrakennuksen, tieteellisen ongelmanratkaisutoiminnan sekä konsultoinnin. Konstruktiivisessa tutkimuksessa korostuu luovuus, innovatiivisuus ja heuristisuus. Tutkimusaineiston keruu perustuu sekä sekundäärisiin lähteisiin että primääriseen aineistoon, jonka keskiössä ovat teemahaastattelut. Teemat ovat seuraavat: logistiikan merkitys seudulle ja sen elinkeinoelämälle, tutkimus- ja kehitystoiminta, koulutus ja logistiikan osaamiskeskittymä. Teemahaastatteluja tutkimuksessa tehtiin seitsemän kappaletta. Tämän tutkimuksen aihe keskittyy logistiikan osaamiseen. Tarkoituksena oli selvittää logistiikan osaamisen vahvistamisen merkitystä kaupunkiseutujen aluekehityksen tukemiseen ja elinkeinoelämän kilpailukykyyn. Tutkimuksessa pyrittiin havainnoimaan ne asiat, jotka ovat jokaisessa teemassa keskeisimpiä alueen menestymisen kannalta. Haastateltavilta henkilöiltä haettiin erityisesti vastauksia niihin asioihin, jotka ovat heidän mielestään tärkeitä. Lisäksi yhtenä tutkimusaiheena oli logistiikkakeskus, koska niiden arvioidaan tuovan positiivista kehitystä alueille
Global economic growth and trade have increased the amount and complexity of logistic activities. As a result business will need better and more cost effective logistics. The government and municipalities have a potential opportunity to affect on logistic operations by developing logistic competence and skills. Effective logistics will also give companies significant competitive advantage. This study is closely related to the Logistic Know-how Co-operation in Kemi background research which was carried out January–September in 2011. The participants were City of Kemi, Kemi-Tornio Polytechnic, and University of Oulu. The goal of this study was to survey the development potential in logistic competence in Kemi region. This study is a natural continuation to the mentioned background research. One of the aims is to gain deeper understanding of the matter and to provide information. This thesis is a qualitative case study and it is a representative of normative research. Constructive approach has been used in this study, combining analytic model building, scientific problem-solving and consulting. Constructive approach lays emphasis on creativity, innovativeness and heuristic nature. The research material is based on both secondary sources and primary data consisting mainly of theme interviews. The themes are as follows: the significance of logistics to the region and its business, research and development, education and logistic Centre of Expertise. Seven theme interviews were done for this study. This study is focused on logistic competence. The purpose is to survey the role of improving the quality of logistic competence in supporting regional development and creating competition advantages for business. This study concentrates on observing issues that are essential for each theme in terms of regional welfare. Special emphasis is put on the interviewees’ estimations of future priorities. Additionally, one topic is the logistic centres, because they are estimated to contribute to positive regional development

Syftet med den här studien var att undersöka förskollärares uppfattningar och erfarenheter av att uppmärksamma ämnesområdet kemi i förskolans vardag. En kvalitativ metod användes med intervjuer som genomfördes med sex förskollärare på en förskola. Samtliga förskollärare hade lång erfarenhet av att arbeta i förskola. Den fenomenografiska utgångspunkten bygger på att kategorisera in förskollärarnas svar, där erfarenheter och personliga åsikter spelar stor roll. Resultatet visar att förskollärarna ofta associerade kemi i förskolan till sina egna minnen från skolans kemi och upplevde detta som någonting jobbigt och svårt. Det gavs dock många exempel på där förskollärarna kunde se kemin i vardagen, alltifrån planerade aktiviteter till spontana frågor. Det naturvetenskapliga arbetssättet och förskollärarnas roll i detta synliggjordes. Eget intresse samt att lägga ambitioner på en lämplig nivå lyftes fram som framgångsfaktorer.
The aim of this study was to examine preschool teachers’ perceptions and experiences of acknowledging the field of chemistry in preschools everyday-life. A qualitative approach was used in which interviews were conducted with 6 preschool teachers at one preschool. All of the preschool teachers had a long experience of working in preschool. The phenomenographic approach is based on categorizing the preschool teachers’ answers, where experiences and personal opinions matter. The result show that the preschool teachers most often associated chemistry in preschool with their own memories of chemistry in school and experienced this as something hard and difficult. Although, a lot of examples where mentioned where the preschool teachers could see chemistry in the preschool on a day-to-day basis, from planned activities to spontaneous questions. The scientific approach and the preschool teacher’ role in this was visualized. Personal interest and a suitable level for the ambitions were noted as a factor for success.

År 2011 antogs en ny läroplan i Sverige, där större fokus lades på hållbar utveckling än i tidigare läroplaner i såväl skolan som helhet, men också bland annat ämnesplanerna för Kemi 1 & 2 (Skolverket, 2018; Skolverket, 2011). I anslutning till detta publicerades nya läromedel som skulle överensstämma med den nya läroplanen. Mot bakgrund av detta ämnade denna studie att undersöka hur hållbar utveckling behandlas i svenska läromedlen för Kemi på gymnasienivå. Detta gjordes genom att analysera fem på gymnasiet förekommande läromedel, varav två var ämnade för Kemi 1 medan övriga tre var ämnade för Kemi 2. Böckerna genomsöktes efter tillfällen då kopplingar till hållbar utveckling gjordes. Dessa tillfällen kategoriserades sedan efter längd, om de kom som en del av kapiteltexten eller som extraläsning samt efter vilka och hur många av hållbar utvecklings tre dimensioner (ekologiska, sociala och ekonomiska) de behandlar. Resultatet visar att hållbar utveckling får mycket lite utrymme i läromedlen för Kemi med få och ofta korta tillfällen då hållbar utveckling behandlas. En bok skiljde sig från de övriga med två kapitel som handlade om miljö och samhällsfrågor, men följde i övrigt samma mönster som övriga böcker. Det vanligaste var att en dimension behandlades åt gången, och den vanligaste dimensionen som lyftes var den ekologiska. Mycket få tillfällen behandlade alla tre dimensionerna tillsammans, även om alla dimensionerna i någon grad belystes i alla böckerna. Att läromedlen i låg omfattning belyser hållbar utveckling kan vara en orsak till att kemilärare har svårt att implementera hållbar utveckling i undervisningen.
In 2011, a new curriculum was adopted in Sweden, where a heavier focus was placed on sustainable development than in previous curricula in both school as a whole, but also in the specific subject plans for chemistry 1 & 2 (Skolverket, 2018; Swedish National Agency for Education, 2011). In conjuntion with this, new teaching materials were published that would be in line with the new curriculum. Considering this, this study aimed to investigate how sustainable development is treated in Swedish textbooks for chemistry at upper secondary level. This was done by analyzing five high school chemistry textbooks, two of which were intended for Chemistry 1, while the other three were intended for Chemistry 2. The books were scanned for the times when links to sustainable development were made. These occasions were then categorised by length, whether they came as an integral part of the chapter text or as extra reading and by which and how many of the three dimensions of sustainable development (ecological, social and economic) they deal with. The results show that sustainable development has very little space in the teaching materials for chemistry, with few and often short examples. One book differed from the others with two dedicated chapters dealing with environmental and social issues, but otherwise followed the same pattern as the other books. The most common situation was that a single dimension was treated at a time, and the most common dimension to be dealt with was the environmental one. Very few examples dealt with all three dimensions together, although all the dimensions were to some extent highlighted in all the books. The fact that textbooks are dealing with sustainable development on a low scale can be one reason why chemistry teachers have difficulties implementing sustainable development in teaching.

Arbetets syfte var att undersöka om grundskolekemiboken Kemi Lpo TEFY är "en bra kemilärobok" enligt 6 krav som jag som kemist ställde på "en bra kemilärobok". Kraven omfattade översiktlig, strukturerad, logisk, precis, lättförståelig och begriplig, tydlig, förklarande, samband förmedlande och sakligt korrekt framställning av kemin, samband till elevernas värld och till aktuella globala problem, experimentens frihetsgrader och jämställdhetsprincipen mellan könen. Anledning till undersökningen var det dåliga resultatet i ämnet kemi i den Nationella Utvärderingen av grundskolan 2003 och undersökningsmetod en värderande textanalys i samband med en enkät med högstadieelever. Resultatet är att jag anser att Kemi Lpo TEFY inte är "en bra kemilärobok" enligt mina krav och att den borde omarbetas grundligt. Elever som läser boken måste enligt min åsikt uppfatta kemi som ett svårt ämne.

There are cryptographic systems that are secure against attacks by both quantum and classical computers. Some of these cryptographic systems are the Key Encapsulation Mechanisms (KEM) based on Ring-LWE problem. Abstract We have developed knife-edge interferometry (KEI) for various engineering applications, including displacement measuring sensors for dynamic system controls and edge quality of the parts, such as cutting tools, corrosive blades, and photomask patterns. This paper reviewed the modeling, design, and data analysis of KEI. With the expanding market of manufacturing industries, edge topography and instrumentation technology become more and more vital to industrial manufacturing-related applications such as cutting tool wear inspection, photomask edge roughness determination, and edge corrosion propagation monitoring. Due to the limitation of measurement requirements like non-contact (photomask inspection), in-situ (cutting tool inspection), and real-time (corrosion propagation monitoring), there are only a few methods available in the market above, and those methods are based on post-processing. The KEI is capable of on-machine measurements, especially for the nanopositioning systems, providing a large working range and positioning accuracy compared with the conventional displacement sensor. This review addresses the current and future KEI technology. Here, including the theoretical approaches to KEI, this review details the data analysis method to feature the edge topographical information.

In the 80’s and early 90’s, in the Netherlands 11 combi blocks with prefitted gas turbines have been built. This repowering programme increased the efficiency of the units involved by several percentage points. Additionally, the commissioning of the five 335 MWe units at the Eems power station is in progress and plans exist for a farther seven 250 MW heat and power stations. This means that by 2002 the generating industry will be operating seventy-five gas turbines with a total gas turbine power of 5700 MWe. These data serve to illustrate mat gas turbines will be the workhorse of the Dutch generating industry in the coming decades, and that security of supply, efficiency, emissions and generating cost will to a large extent be determined by the gas turbine. However, the introduction of the gas turbine, driven by the possibility of high-efficiency electricity generation in e.g. combined cycle units, the increase in scale of the machines and the fact that they are increasingly being used in base load units have also led to problems and forced unavailability, as will be shown under goals of the project. The problems are related to creep, thermal stresses and fatigue of combustion chambers, turbine rotor blades, rotors etc. Apart from these problem areas, other subjects of interest are optimization of inlet air filtering and compressor cleaning. It is the Dutch Electricity Production industry who realized that a substantial R&D effort is necessary to solve those user related problems and formulated the execution of the target project Gas Turbines.

Eine Evaluierung des Programms wurde durch das Wuppertal Institut und der KMU Forschung Austria zwischen Oktober 2018 und Juni 2019 durchgeführt. Ein breites Spektrum von Erhebungsmethoden kam darin zur Anwendung, durch die das Konzept und die Ziele des Programms, die Qualität des Programmmanagements und dessen Wirkungen evaluiert wurden. Insbesondere über zahlreiche Interviews mit Experten und Expertinnen, eine Online-Befragung der KEM-Managerinnen und -Manager und quantitative Wirkungsberechnungen getätigter Investförderungen konnten eine Fülle von Informationen gewonnen werden, anhand derer Vorschläge zur Weiterentwicklung und Verbesserung des Programms formuliert wurden.

Abstract:
In September 2006 an outbreak of 'Bluetongue like' disease struck the cattle herds in Israel. Over 100 dairy and beef cattle herds were affected. Epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV) (an Orbivirusclosely related to bluetongue virus (BTV)), was isolated from samples collected from several herds during the outbreaks. Following are the aims of the study and summary of the results: which up until now were published in 6 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Three more articles are still under preparation: 1. To identify the origin of the virus: The virus identified was fully sequenced and compared with the sequences available in the GenBank. It appeared that while gene segment L2 was clustered with EHDV-7 isolated in Australia, most of the other segments were clustered with EHDV-6 isolates from South-Africa and Bahrain. This may suggest that the strain which affected Israel on 2006 may have been related to similar outbreaks which occurred in north-Africa at the same year and could also be a result of reassortment with an Australian strain (Wilson et al. article in preparation). Analysis of the serological results from Israel demonstrated that cows and calves were similarly positive as opposed to BTV for which seropositivity in cows was significantly higher than in calves. This finding also supports the hypothesis that the 2006 EHD outbreak in Israel was an incursive event and the virus was not present in Israel before this outbreak (Kedmi et al. Veterinary Journal, 2011) 2. To identify the vectors of this virus: In the US, Culicoides sonorensis was found as an efficient vector of EHDV as the virus was transmitted by midges fed on infected white tailed deer (WTD; Odocoileusvirginianus) to susceptible WTD (Ruder et al. Parasites and Vectors, 2012). We also examined the effect of temperature on replication of EHDV-7 in C. sonorensis and demonstrated that the time to detection of potentially competent midges decreased with increasing temperature (Ruder et al. in preparation). Although multiple attempts were made, we failed to evaluate wild-caught Culicoidesinsignisas a potential vector for EHDV-7; however, our finding that C. sonorensis is a competent vector is far more significant because this species is widespread in the U.S. As for Israeli Culicoides spp. the main species caught near farms affected during the outbreaks were C. imicolaand C. oxystoma. The vector competence studies performed in Israel were in a smaller scale than in the US due to lack of a laboratory colony of these species and due to lack of facilities to infect animals with vector borne diseases. However, we found both species to be susceptible for infection by EHDV. For C. oxystoma, 1/3 of the Culicoidesinfected were positive 11 days post feeding. 3. To identify the host and environmental factors influencing the level of exposure to EHDV, its spread and its associated morbidity: Analysis of the cattle morbidity in Israel showed that the disease resulted in an average loss of over 200 kg milk per cow in herds affected during September 2006 and 1.42% excess mortality in heavily infected herds (Kedmi et al. Journal of Dairy Science, 2010). Outbreak investigation showed that winds played a significant role in virus spread during the 2006 outbreak (Kedmi et al. Preventive Veterinary Medicine, 2010). Further studies showed that both sheep (Kedmi et al. Veterinary Microbiology, 2011) and wild ruminants did not play a significant role in virus spread in Israel (Kedmi et al. article in preparation). Clinical studies in WTD showed that this species is highly susceptibile to EHDV-7 infection and disease (Ruder et al. Journal of Wildlife Diseases, 2012). Experimental infection of Holstein cattle (cows and calves) yielded subclinical viremia (Ruder et al. in preparation). The findings of this study, which resulted in 6 articles, published in peer reviewed journals and 4 more articles which are in preparation, contributed to the dairy industry in Israel by defining the main factors associated with disease spread and assessment of disease impact. In the US, we demonstrated that sufficient conditions exist for potential virus establishment if EHDV-7 were introduced. The significant knowledge gained through this study will enable better decision making regarding prevention and control measures for EHDV and similar viruses, such as BTV.

The wicked sustainability challenges of current socio-technical systems, crossing the planetary boundaries vital for human life, call for fundamental and radical change in the form of transitions. These sustainability transitions require a knowledge basis of relevant actors in the system, which intermediary structures organizing knowledge transfer can support. Over the last decades, sustainability researchers have not only increasingly studied the dynamics of transitions (Rip and Kemp 1998; Geels 2002; Papachristos et al. 2013), but have also gained insights on activities contributing to the acceleration of transitions and the sup-portive role of intermediaries in that regard (Wieczorek and Hekkert 2012; Kanda et al. 2018; Kivimaa et al. 2019). This paper revisits the literature on the dynamics of transitions, the activities of intermediaries in contributing in order to formulate implications of the characteristics of sustainable development and sustainability transitions and the related knowledge types for the organization of knowledge transfer by regional intermediaries.
