Abstract:
The paper describes the FPGA-based implementation of Lithuanian isolated word recognition algorithm. FPGA is selected for parallel process implementation using VHDL to ensure fast signal processing at low rate clock signal. Cepstrum analysis was applied to features extraction in voice. The dynamic time warping algorithm was used to compare the vectors of cepstrum coefficients. A library of 100 words features was created and stored in the internal FPGA BRAM memory. Experimental testing with speaker dependent records demonstrated the recognition rate of 94%. The recognition rate of 58% was achieved for speaker-independent records. Calculation of cepstrum coefficients lasted for 8.52 ms at 50 MHz clock, while 100 DTWs took 66.56 ms at 25 MHz clock. Article in Lithuanian.

Abstract:
This masters theses deals with standard detection methods of speech/pause - voice activity detectors are based on the principles of short-time energy, real spectrum, short-time intensity and on a combinations of these three detectors. In the next parts, there are mentioned other voice activity detectors based on hidden Markovov‘s models and a detector described in the ITU-T G.729 standard. All the detectors, mentioned above, were implemented in research environment MATLAB. Further there was created an user interface for testing functions of the implemented detectors. Finally, there was done an evaluation by ROC characteristics according to the results of the testing.

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of human emotional states. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part is charcterize, the process of speech generating, from phonetic and psychological poin of view. In the second part there are proccesed metods and contextual things.(preprocessing of signal, voice activity detector). For calculation fundamental Frequency it was used metod of central clipping, another used metod is formant frequency analyse and the last is metod of determinatin of nuber of thorns and planes. In the thirt part there are proccesesed results of measurements performed by particural metods. It was scorred five different emotional states: neutral, anger, happiness, sadness and surprise. At the end of this part there are discussed results for each metod.

This research is mainly concerned with a robust method for an improved performance of a real-time speech enhancement and noise cancellation in a real reverberant environment. Therefore, the thesis titled, "A Kepstrum Approach to Real-Time Speech Enhancement" presents an application technique of a kepstrum method to a speech enhancement method. The kepstrum approach is based on a fundamental theory of kepstrum analysis, which gives a mathematical construct to the application of a speech enhancement. kepstrum analysis is applied to the system identification application of unknown acoustic transfer functions between two microphones. This kepstrum method provides a mathematical representation with FFT based processing and is independent of acoustic path model order. The front-end application of the kepstrum method to speech enhancement methods provides an improved performance in speech enhancement and noise cancellation with several favourable effects.
