Abstract:
Perdirbti mineralinės vatos centrifugavimo atliekas yra esminga problema. Darbe pateikti tyrimo rezultatai rodo, kad sukepusi keramika iš lengvai lydaus ilitinio molio ir mineralinės vatos centrifugavimo atliekų yra perspektyvus būdas mineralinės vatos atliekų naudojimo klausimui spręsti. Tiriamosios sistemos savybių tyrimai parodė, kad į lengvai lydųjį molį pridėjus 20 % šių atliekų, gauta sukepusi keramika. Nustatyta, kad išdegus bandinius esant 1040 ºC temperatūrai, tokios keramikos įmirkio vertė yra 2,02 %, tankis – 2169 kg/m3. Dilatometrinių tyrimų rezultatai parodė, kad į Dysnos radimvietės molį pridėjus liesinančio priedo – 20 % mineralinės vatos centrifugavimo atliekų, ilgio pokytis, esant 1070 ºC temperatūrai, sumažėjo nuo 2,8 % iki 1,4 %.

Į ankstyvąją Klaipėdą akmens masės keramika atkeliavo iš vokiškų Siegburgo, Žemutinės Saksonijos, Langerwehe’ės, Waldenburgo, Aacheno / Raereno, Kelno, Frecheno, Westerwaldo, Altenburgo, Annabergo gamybos centrų, taip pat iš Anglijoje, Londone, įsikūrusių Woolwicho, Fulhamo ir Lambetho gamyklų bei iš Nottinghamo mieste veikusio gamybos centro. Ankstyviausi XIII a. antros pusės–XVI a. pradžios indai pasiskirstė pilies ir ankstyvojo kolonistų miesto teritorijose. Kuriantis senajam miestui, šių indų mieste daugėjo. Tiriant Klaipėdos akmens masės indus buvo išskirtos keturios funkcinės grupės. Remiantis šios keramikos duomenimis, pavyko patikslinti kai kurių tyrimų metu rastų indų bei miesto kultūrinių sluoksnių datavimą. Prispevek predstavlja pregled znanih lastnikov vzhodnoazijske keramike, posebno porcelana, v Sloveniji v 19. stoletju – natančneje od odprtja Regionalnega muzeja za Kranjsko (kasneje Narodnega muzeja Slovenije) leta 1821 do velikega potresa v Ljubljani leta 1895. Slovenski lastniki porcelana, ali 'navdušenci', ki so predstavljeni v raziskavi, so osebe slovenskih korenin, za katere lahko na podlagi zanesljivih virov potrdimo, da so v svoji lasti imeli keramične ali porcelanaste predmete vzhodnoazijskega izvora ter jih kasneje darovali Deželnem muzeju za Kranjsko. Z vključitvijo analize zbirke Narodnega muzeja in analizo primarnih virov, kot so publikacije, inventarji in slikovno gradivo, raziskujem, kaj nam posamezni predmeti povedo o lastnikih in kako nam lahko pomagajo pri rekonstrukciji zbirateljstva keramike in porcelana vzhodnoazijskega izvora v slovenski zgodovini.

Stahl ist einem verbreiteten Spruch zufolge die Muttersprache des Konstrukteurs. Während dieser sich bei Metallen und Polymeren auf sicherem Terrain bewegt, ist dies bei Keramiken seltener der Fall (Bild 1). My thesis is a presentation of Jika Laufen for the international exhibition Expo 2015 in Milan. The work consists of designing and installing sinks into the exposure so that they are in a uniform manner. I designed the concept of the well for several reasons: the bathroom is an intimate space where it should be emphasized emotion , atmosphere and feelings. It is a space where a person should relax. The second aspect is that the ceramic has an organic origin, came from the ground and through the fire becomes very durable and solid. A no less important is the third aspect, exist on the context. Expo is an international exhibition and therefore the presentation of this forest exposure does not represent a Czech company, but also a Czech environment, where you will find beautiful nature and sources of known rivers. My concept is based on emotion and contrast materials. Delicate white ceramics have planted in a sharp stone and dark green leafy moss, creating a contrast full voltage . The exhibition of this type should not be missed even modern technology. That is my proposal represented feeler drain, which is around the perimeter of the sink hidden under the edge so as not to disturb the perception of the whole.

Master’s thesis are concerned with the cutting ceramic materials and its ef-fective usage. The first part of the thesis is focused on the general properties of the cutting ceramics, its history, development, production and description of the various types. This part includes as well a description of the mechanic-physical properties and the potential of the usage for machining. The second part of the work solves the general evaluation of the cutting power. The main issue in the next part is the identification of cutting ceramics range and the selection accor-ding to main world producers. The fourth part deals with the assessments and the comparison of the working conditions for different types of the machined ma-terials. The technical economic assessment shows the potentials in the total pro-duction costs reduction.

Keramikos studijos – informatyvus šaltinis archeologiniams paminklams pažinti. Pasirinkta šio darbo tema apima Kernavės viduramžių apžiestą keramiką. Pagrindinis darbo tikslas – pasekti Kernavės keramikos raidą viduramžių Kernavės miesto ir vėliau čia egzistavusio miestelio chronologinėse ribose. Didžiausias dėmesys skiriamas XIII-XIV a. puodininkystės raidos tendencijoms stebėti, tuo tarpu miestelio keramika naudojama daugiau kaip lyginamoji medžiaga pokyčių stebėjimui ir išryškinimui. Tikslo įgyvendinimui tyrinėti technologiniai, morfologiniai, puošybiniai keramikos požymiai, stebėtas jų stabilumas ar kaita laike ir erdvėje, įvertinta šių požymių reikšmė. Didžiąją dalį nagrinėjamos Kernavės keramikos sudaro įvairių dydžių puodai, kurie sąlygiškai suskirstyti į funkcines grupes: mažus puodelius, puodus, puodynes, galėjusius atlikti maisto gamybos, pernešimo, saugojimo funkcijas. Specializuotų apžiestos keramikos indų sutinkama retai - dauguma jų priklauso miestelio laikotarpiui Technologinių gamybos požymių kaita aptariamu laikotarpiu nėra žymi. XIII-XIV a. pokyčiai dažniau pastebima ne diachroninėje, o erdvinėje plotmėje. Molio liesinimui dažniausiai naudotas grūstas granitas, sienelės formuotos iš volelių, o XIV a. ir iš juostų, apžiedžiant puodui buvo suteikiama forma ir/ar nulyginamas paviršius. XIV a. The subject of this study is medieval wheel-turned pottery of Kernavė. The main goal of this work is to observe the development of pottery of medieval town and later settlement of Kernavė. Particular attention is paid to the pottery making traditions in 13th-14th centuries. Pottery from the later settlement meanwhile is used mainly as the comparative material in order to observe some changes through time. Technological, morphological and ornamental properties of pottery were identified for the study of their significance and evolution through time and space. The majority of pottery under consideration can be attributed to the pots of different sizes. These pots were differentiated into several functional groups: small pots, pots and jars. All these groups could be used for a variety of purposes such as cooking, transportation or storage. The amount of single-purpose vessels is very small and even these few belong to the settlement which was established in the 15th century in the place of earlier town. The evolution of technological attributes of Kernavė’s pottery in the Middle-ages is quite gradual. It is especially characteristic to the pottery of the 13th-14th centuries when most of discrepancies in pottery are influenced mainly by the individual peculiarities of every potter but not by the chronological differences. The paper evaluates the influence of lamination parameters (pressure, temperature, time) on the formation of defects in the structure, which were detected by appropriate methods. The last parts describes designed and simulation cooling water system using LTCC technology.

Abstract:
Do ceramics have to be static? This was the question that spurred me into this work, and what kept me working on to achieve the possibility of motion in my ceramic objects. By combining the knowledge gained through my former education as an avionics technician with my interest in the ancient ceramic craft, I strive to create kinetic ceramic handicraft suitable for interaction with an audience. By a series of different phases I slowly go from understanding what kind of motion I want my objects to have, to actually realizing this motion in three-dimensional objects. Through the use of simple models made from corrugated fiberboard followed by more advanced plaster models, combined with different complementary materials such as bicycle inner-tubing and recycled aluminium cans among many others, I, through a vast series of testing, slowly build up a knowledge base later applied to the ceramic objects. The result is for me a success; I have found a way for me to combine ceramics with mechanics. Through this I have created kinetic ceramic handicraft intended for interaction with an audience.

Abstract:
This paper is about food culture in Uppland under early iron age in Upplans, Sverige. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to analysis the lipids that were extracted from archaeological potsherds from Påtåker Raä 62, Sollentuna, Uppland. The result of the lipid analysis shows content of aquatic animal products, terrestrial animal products, vegetables and indication of being heated. Based on these results and what is considered to be a normal diet during the Iron Age, it is possible to say that there are similarities. These results are also compared with three sites from Late Iron Age – Vendel 1:1, Vendel 28 and Tuna, to see if there are any similarities. The reason to choose three sites from Late Iron Age, and not Early Iron Age, is because there haven’t been done studies like this on material from the early Iron Age. Vendel 28 was the site that was most similar to Påtåker, when it comes to its enviorment with meadows and woods, and the ceramics application areas.
This study is part of the on going research of Påtåker Raä 62, Sollentuna, Oppland.

Abstract:
The master’s thesis deals with the topic of electrical discharge machining. The first part of the thesis contains a study of the die-sinking EDM. The die-sinking EDM of the silicon carbide ceramic is realized in the experimental part of the thesis. The result of this work was to explore the influence of the EDM sinking parameters, specifically pulse current, open-voltage and pulse on-time, on the machined surface. Furthermore, the analysis of the tool electrode was made. This analysis was focused on the wear in the corners, which has key influence on accuracy of the machining. The machining time was also examined.

Abstract:
The current study was dedicated to exploring luminescence of AlN ceramics with europium admixture (AlN:Eu). Photoluminescence as well as its excitation spectra, taken at wide spectral intervals, at different temperatures and environments (vacuum and air), were used to study the optical properties of the material.AlN:Eu ceramics were dominated by the well-known red and green luminescence of Eu ions, around 530 nm and 600 nm, which could be excited by both visible and UV light. In ceramics with a higher Eu content, more intense luminosity of the bands associated with europium, especially around 530 nm, was observed, while, contrary to lower concentration sample, no luminescence bands between 440 nm and 500 nm were observed. The differences, most likely, can be explained by the different structure of the material at different concentrations of admixture. At excitation of samples with 340 nm light, mutually different changes in 530 nm luminescence intensity were also observed when temperatures of materials were lowered: at higher Eu concentrations, the intensity increased, whereas at lower concentrations – decreased. The analysis of the experimental results allows to propose several mechanisms that are responsible for the luminescence of the considered materials, consisting mainly of the emission of defects related to Eu ions. They include both intracenter and recombination mechanisms, whose contribution to luminescence depends on the spectral structure of the excitation light. The obtained data can be used for further research and development of new persistent luminescence materials.
