Abstract:
My thesis is a presentation of Jika Laufen for the international exhibition Expo 2015 in Milan. The work consists of designing and installing sinks into the exposure so that they are in a uniform manner. I designed the concept of the well for several reasons: the bathroom is an intimate space where it should be emphasized emotion , atmosphere and feelings. It is a space where a person should relax. The second aspect is that the ceramic has an organic origin, came from the ground and through the fire becomes very durable and solid. A no less important is the third aspect, exist on the context. Expo is an international exhibition and therefore the presentation of this forest exposure does not represent a Czech company, but also a Czech environment, where you will find beautiful nature and sources of known rivers. My concept is based on emotion and contrast materials. Delicate white ceramics have planted in a sharp stone and dark green leafy moss, creating a contrast full voltage . The exhibition of this type should not be missed even modern technology. That is my proposal represented feeler drain, which is around the perimeter of the sink hidden under the edge so as not to disturb the perception of the whole.

Abstract:
Master’s thesis are concerned with the cutting ceramic materials and its ef-fective usage. The first part of the thesis is focused on the general properties of the cutting ceramics, its history, development, production and description of the various types. This part includes as well a description of the mechanic-physical properties and the potential of the usage for machining. The second part of the work solves the general evaluation of the cutting power. The main issue in the next part is the identification of cutting ceramics range and the selection accor-ding to main world producers. The fourth part deals with the assessments and the comparison of the working conditions for different types of the machined ma-terials. The technical economic assessment shows the potentials in the total pro-duction costs reduction.

Keramikos studijos – informatyvus šaltinis archeologiniams paminklams pažinti. Pasirinkta šio darbo tema apima Kernavės viduramžių apžiestą keramiką. Pagrindinis darbo tikslas – pasekti Kernavės keramikos raidą viduramžių Kernavės miesto ir vėliau čia egzistavusio miestelio chronologinėse ribose. Didžiausias dėmesys skiriamas XIII-XIV a. puodininkystės raidos tendencijoms stebėti, tuo tarpu miestelio keramika naudojama daugiau kaip lyginamoji medžiaga pokyčių stebėjimui ir išryškinimui. Tikslo įgyvendinimui tyrinėti technologiniai, morfologiniai, puošybiniai keramikos požymiai, stebėtas jų stabilumas ar kaita laike ir erdvėje, įvertinta šių požymių reikšmė. Didžiąją dalį nagrinėjamos Kernavės keramikos sudaro įvairių dydžių puodai, kurie sąlygiškai suskirstyti į funkcines grupes: mažus puodelius, puodus, puodynes, galėjusius atlikti maisto gamybos, pernešimo, saugojimo funkcijas. Specializuotų apžiestos keramikos indų sutinkama retai - dauguma jų priklauso miestelio laikotarpiui Technologinių gamybos požymių kaita aptariamu laikotarpiu nėra žymi. XIII-XIV a. pokyčiai dažniau pastebima ne diachroninėje, o erdvinėje plotmėje. Molio liesinimui dažniausiai naudotas grūstas granitas, sienelės formuotos iš volelių, o XIV a. ir iš juostų, apžiedžiant puodui buvo suteikiama forma ir/ar nulyginamas paviršius. XIV a. The subject of this study is medieval wheel-turned pottery of Kernavė. The main goal of this work is to observe the development of pottery of medieval town and later settlement of Kernavė. Particular attention is paid to the pottery making traditions in 13th-14th centuries. Pottery from the later settlement meanwhile is used mainly as the comparative material in order to observe some changes through time. Technological, morphological and ornamental properties of pottery were identified for the study of their significance and evolution through time and space. The majority of pottery under consideration can be attributed to the pots of different sizes. These pots were differentiated into several functional groups: small pots, pots and jars. All these groups could be used for a variety of purposes such as cooking, transportation or storage. The amount of single-purpose vessels is very small and even these few belong to the settlement which was established in the 15th century in the place of earlier town. The evolution of technological attributes of Kernavė’s pottery in the Middle-ages is quite gradual. It is especially characteristic to the pottery of the 13th-14th centuries when most of discrepancies in pottery are influenced mainly by the individual peculiarities of every potter but not by the chronological differences. Master’s thesis deals with the optimalization of low-temperature cofired ceramic lamination process that affects the final quality of 3D structures (eg., channels, cavities, membranes, etc.). The paper evaluates the influence of lamination parameters (pressure, temperature, time) on the formation of defects in the structure, which were detected by appropriate methods. The last parts describes designed and simulation cooling water system using LTCC technology.

Abstract:
Do ceramics have to be static? This was the question that spurred me into this work, and what kept me working on to achieve the possibility of motion in my ceramic objects. By combining the knowledge gained through my former education as an avionics technician with my interest in the ancient ceramic craft, I strive to create kinetic ceramic handicraft suitable for interaction with an audience. By a series of different phases I slowly go from understanding what kind of motion I want my objects to have, to actually realizing this motion in three-dimensional objects. Through the use of simple models made from corrugated fiberboard followed by more advanced plaster models, combined with different complementary materials such as bicycle inner-tubing and recycled aluminium cans among many others, I, through a vast series of testing, slowly build up a knowledge base later applied to the ceramic objects. The result is for me a success; I have found a way for me to combine ceramics with mechanics. Through this I have created kinetic ceramic handicraft intended for interaction with an audience.

Abstract:
This paper is about food culture in Uppland under early iron age in Upplans, Sverige. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to analysis the lipids that were extracted from archaeological potsherds from Påtåker Raä 62, Sollentuna, Uppland. The result of the lipid analysis shows content of aquatic animal products, terrestrial animal products, vegetables and indication of being heated. Based on these results and what is considered to be a normal diet during the Iron Age, it is possible to say that there are similarities. These results are also compared with three sites from Late Iron Age – Vendel 1:1, Vendel 28 and Tuna, to see if there are any similarities. The reason to choose three sites from Late Iron Age, and not Early Iron Age, is because there haven’t been done studies like this on material from the early Iron Age. Vendel 28 was the site that was most similar to Påtåker, when it comes to its enviorment with meadows and woods, and the ceramics application areas.
This study is part of the on going research of Påtåker Raä 62, Sollentuna, Oppland.

The master’s thesis deals with the topic of electrical discharge machining. The first part of the thesis contains a study of the die-sinking EDM. The die-sinking EDM of the silicon carbide ceramic is realized in the experimental part of the thesis. The result of this work was to explore the influence of the EDM sinking parameters, specifically pulse current, open-voltage and pulse on-time, on the machined surface. Furthermore, the analysis of the tool electrode was made. This analysis was focused on the wear in the corners, which has key influence on accuracy of the machining. The machining time was also examined.

Morphotrope PZT-Keramiken sind Festkörperlösungen aus Bleizirkonat und Bleititanat mit chemischen Zusammensetzungen um die 47% Ti-Anteil. Sie weisen im gepolten Zustand die größten piezoelektrischen Koppelkonstanten auf und sind daher von speziellem Interesse. Zur Vorhersage des Polungszustandes und der Bauteilfestigkeit in komplexen Bauteilen werden elektromechanisch gekoppelte Materialmodelle benötigt. In dieser Arbeit wird ein mikromechanischer Modellansatz aus der Literatur aufgegriffen. Ausgangspunkt ist ein dreidimensionales tetragonales Modell, welches ein repräsentatives Volumenelement des Kornverbundes und ein mikroskopisches Kornmodell vereint. Damit gelingt die Beschreibung der Korninteraktionen infolge unterschiedlicher Polungszustände der Körner. Die Domänenstruktur der Körner wird mittels der Volumenanteile der kristallographischen Varianten dargestellt. Ein vereinfachter Satz an mikroskopischen Materialkonstanten wird anhand experimenteller Daten und theoretischer Betrachtungen aus der Literatur abgeleitet. Die für zwei Lastfälle berechneten makroskopischen Materialantworten zeigen explizit, dass das tetragonale Modell nicht in der Lage ist, das Verhalten morphotroper PZT-Keramiken nachzubilden. Aus diesem Grund wird das Modell im Hinblick auf die besondere kristallographische Struktur morphotroper PZT-Keramiken um eine rhomboedrische Phase in veränderlichen Anteilen erweitert. Die somit berechneten makroskopischen Antworten stimmen sowohl quantitativ als auch qualitativ gut mit experimentellen Ergebnissen überein. Der Einfluss der im Modell berücksichtigten Kristallstruktur auf die makroskopische Materialantwort wird in der Arbeit ausführlich analysiert
Morphotropic PZT ceramics are solid solutions made of lead zirconate and lead titanate with chemical composition around 47% Ti-content. When poled they possess the greatest piezoelectric coupling constants for which they are of special interest. Predicting the poling condition and the strength in complex devices requires electromechanically coupled material models. Within this work, a micromechanical modelling approach is utilised. Starting point is a three-dimensional tetragonal model, which combines a representative volume element of the grain compound together with a microscopic grain model. This allows the consideration of grain interaction due to different poling conditions of the grains. The domain structure of the grains is captured by volume fractions of the crystallographic variants. A simplified set of microscopic material constants is derived from experimental and theoretical data given in the literature. The macroscopic material response, which is computed for two load cases, shows explicitly that the tetragonal model is not capable of reproducing the behaviour of morphotropic PZT ceramics. Therefore, the model is extended by the rhombohedral phase in varying quantity with view of the specific crystallographic structure of morphotropic PZT ceramics. The so computed macroscopic response shows a quantitatively as well as qualitatively good agreement with experimental results. The effect of the crystallographic structure which is considered within the model on the macroscopic material response is extensively analysed

Lead-acid batteries are most used secondary electrochemical power sources. Their basic principle has remained the same for several years; only the operating parameters are in development. Lead-acid batteries are used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), which operates in the partial charge PSoC. Sulphation is one of the possible failures lead-acid batteries in the HEV, especially the negative electrode. By adding additives to the negative active mass can reduce the rate of sulphation and increase ability to accept an electrical charge by negative electrode.

Abstract:
På uppdrag av företaget Kanthal analyserades en keramisk skiva gjord av kalciumsilikat som används som en värmeisolator samt för att bära upp vikten av värmeelementet. Under drift utsätts skivan för både termiska och mekaniska belastningar. Skivan klarar dessa belastningar men hur bra den klarar samt med vilka marginaler var en obesvarad fråga. Syftet med detta projekt var att ta reda på hur stora spänningar dessa belastningar gav upphov till och därefter beräkna säkerhetsfaktorn för skivan. Denna säkerhetsfaktor ska ligga till grund för eventuella ersättningsmaterial. Vidare undersöktes hur stora spänningsavvikelser som kunde uppstå om den mekaniska lasten inte var centrerad och om de andra hålen i skivan förflyttades. Projektet genomfördes på så sätt att först utvärderades materialets böjhållfasthet med hjälp av tre-punkts böjprov. Därefter skapades en förenklad CAD modell av relevanta komponenter av värmekassetten och sedan analyserades modellen för belastningar vid uppvärmning, nedkylning och stationärt tillstånd. Den maximala spänningen uppstod under stationära tillståndet och den beräknades till 19,8 MPa vilken blev mindre än den genomsnittliga böjhållfastheten som beräknades till 26,6 MPa. Sammanfattningsvis indikerar resultatet från denna studie att skivan klarar belastningarna med en säkerhetsfaktor på 1,34. Även att parametrarna icke-centrad last och ändring av hålplaceringar inte påverkade säkerhetsfaktorn märkvärdigt.
At the request of the company Kanthal, a ceramic disc made of calcium silicate which is used as a heat insulator and a load carrier for the weight of a heating element was analyzed. During operation, the disc is subjected to both mechanical and thermal loads. The disc can handle the loads but how well and with what margin was an answered question. The purpose of these project was to find out how much stresses these loads give rise to and then calculate the safety factor for the disc. This safety factor is going to be used as a basis for any possible replacement of the material. Furthermore, it was also examined how much stress deviations could occur if the mechanical load were uncentered and if the other holes in the disc were displaced. The project was implemented so that the flexural strength of the material was evaluated first by using three-point bending method. Thereafter, a CAD model of the relevant components of the heat element was created. The model was then analyzed for loads during heating, cooling and under steady state. The maximum stress occurred during steady state and it was calculated to be 19.8 MPa which was less than the average flexural strength which was 26.6 MPa. In summary, the results of this study indicate that the disc can handle the loads with a safety factor of 1.34. Moreover, having an uncentered load and changing the hole positions did not affect the safety factor significantly.

Abstract:
The presented diploma thesis deals with the issue of wire electrical discharge machining of SiSiC ceramics. The first part explains the principles of electrical discharge machining, describes the WEDM technology and presents the properties of the advanced ceramics. The second part consists of a detailed analysis of the cutting process of eighteen samples obtained with systematically changing process parameters. Based on the obtained results from EDX analysis, SEM electron microscopy and topography there was performed an analysis of the influence of process parameters on the cutting speed, surface roughness, kerf width and number of wire breaks with usage of the selected brass cutting wire. From the evaluated results it was possible to select a combination of parameters that ensured a stable machining process.

Ferroelektroelastische Keramiken besitzen aufgrund ihrer elektromechanischen Koppeleigenschaften Bedeutung in der Sensorik und Aktuatorik. Zur Vorhersage der Bauteileigenschaften und Beurteilung der Bauteilfestigkeit werden Materialmodelle benötigt. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird ein mehrachsiges, ratenunabhängiges Materialmodell für ferroelektroelastische Keramiken einschließlich der zur effizienten Lösung notwendigen numerischen Methoden ausgearbeitet. Dabei erfolgt die Einbeziehung von Ansätzen aus der makroskopischen phänomenologischen und mikroelektromechanischen phänomenologischen Modellierung. Das resultierende Materialmodell stellt einen Versuch dar, die Vorteile beider Betrachtungsweisen zu vereinen und trägt deshalb die Bezeichnung "hybrid". In einem ersten Beispiel wird gezeigt, dass das hybride Materialmodell die für Barium-Titanat-Keramiken experimentell beobachtete Materialantwort reproduzieren kann. In einem zweiten Beispiel erfolgt die Anwendung auf morphotrope PZT-Keramiken. Dabei wird die in jüngerer Vergangenheit entdeckte monokline Phase zusammen mit der elektronenmikroskopisch beobachteten hierarchischen Struktur von Mikro- und Nanodomänen in vereinfachter Weise berücksichtigt. Auf Grundlage der getroffenen Modellannahmen gelingt es, die experimentell gemessene makroskopische Materialantwort der morphotropen PZT-Keramik PIC151 (PI Ceramic GmbH, Lederhose, Deutschland) für ausgewählte Lastfälle mit guter Genauigkeit vorherzusagen
Ferroelectroelastic ceramics are used in sensor and actuator applications due to their electromechanical coupling properties. In order to predict the behavior of components or to assess their strength, material models are required. In the present work, a multi-axial, rate-independent material model for ferroelectroelastic ceramics is elaborated. This includes the development of efficient numerical solution methods. By incorporating ideas from known macroscopic phenomenological and micro-electromechanical phenomenological models into the novel model, it is attempted to combine the advantages of both approaches. In a first example, it is shown that the hybrid model can reproduce the experimentally observed material response of barium titanate ceramics. In a second example, the model is applied to morphotropic PZT ceramics. In this context, the recently discovered monoclinic phase as well as the hierarchical structure of micro-domains and nano-domains observed by means of electron microscopy are taken into account in a simplified way. Based on the assumptions made, the experimentally measured material response of the morphotropic PZT ceramic PIC151 (PI Ceramic GmbH, Lederhose, Germany) is predicted with reasonable accuracy for selected load cases

Jag arbetar med frodiga och pompösa skulpturer som är tillverkade i keramik. Projektet Black Mass har musikgenren BlackMetal som utgångspunkt. Här undersöker jag hur musikgenren Black Metal går att överföra till keramik. Den krock mellankeramik och Black Metal tar sin form i en fiktiv ritual där ambitionen varit att utgå från musiken som beskriver ondska, mörkeroch satanism. I min essä förklarar jag min bakgrund till musik genren och hur det kommer sig att jag valde Black Metal somutgångspunkt till mina keramiska verk. Jag beskriver mitt förhållande till leran och varför den blivit mitt huvudsakliga medium imin konstnärliga praktik. Sedan har jag försökt bena ut vad det är inom genren/subkulturen Black Metal som jag velat ta tillvarapå och införliva i min installation ”Black Mass”.

In this report presents a thesis by Frida Altskog performed in collaboration with Askersunds Kakelmakeri. The project’s goal has been to produce a ceramic ledge after the company’s specifications. The company’s desire and production facilities have been in focus.  This report includes a collection of facts and gives an overview of the ceramic material, production of ceramic products and how production of hand-made tiles and clinker is made. A analysis of target group and market have been a guide line through the projects ideas and realizations.  The final product is a ceramic ledge that can combine with three different patterns. Classic, modern and oriental. It can be combined and adjustable on different surfaces. The form of the ledge is effective to produce and it can be made in Askersund kakelmakeris pottery.
I denna rapport redovisas ett examensarbete av Frida Altskog utfört i samarbete med Askersunds Kakelmakeri. Projektets mål har varit att ta fram en keramisk list efter företagets kravspecifikationer. Företagets önskemål och produktions möjligheter har stått i fokus. Rapportens faktainsamlings del innehåller översikt på materialet keramik, tillverkning av keramiska produkter och hur produktion på handslaget kakel och klinker går till. Målgruppsanalys och marknadsanalys har vart vägledande genom projektets idégenereringsfas och realiseringsfas. Slutprodukten är en keramisk list som utifrån en grundform går att kombinera med tre olika mönster. Klassisk, modern och orientalisk. Listen går att förändra och anpassa efter de ytor man vill klä. Den är utformad så att tillverkningen görs effektivt och det kan ske i Askersunds kakelmakeris keramikverkstad.

Baigiamajame magistro darbe „Keramikos pramonės internetinio marketingo plėtros modelis“ analizuojamos keramikos pramonės internetinio marketingo modelio tobulinimo galimybės, teoriniai internetinio marketingo modeliai, įvertinamos internetinio marketingo komunikacijos priemonės, jų privalumai ir trūkumai, remiantis Lietuvos ir užsienio IMM žvalgomaisiais tyrimais sukuriamas keramikos pramonės internetinio marketingo plėtros modelis. Pirmoje teorinėje dalyje analizuojama informacinių technologijų plėtra, įtaka verslui. Analizuojami el. verslo modeliai, internetinio marketingo komunikacijos priemonės, internetinio marketingo principai. Atlikta antrinių šaltinių analizė įrodo internetinio marketingo svarbą verslui ir palankias plėtros perspektyvas. Antroje dalyje analizuojama Lietuvos keramikos pramonės padėtis, atliekama Lietuvos ir užsienio keramikos pramonės įmonių IMM analizė. Tyrimų rezultatai parodo, kad užsienio įmonių internetinis marketingas yra pažangesnis negu Lietuvos įmonių. Užsienio modeliai nuo Lietuvos skiriasi tuo, kad yra didesnis internetinio marketingo komunikacijų skaičius ir platesnė įgyvendinimo formų įvairovė. In degree work „Model of development of internet – marketing in a ceramic industry“ ways of perfection of model of Internet - marketing to a ceramic industry, theoreticals models of Internet - marketing are analyzed, ways of communication in Internet - marketing, their advantages and the lacks are estimated, the executed analysis Lithuanian and foreign models of Internet - marketing allows to formulate model of development of Internet - marketing in a ceramic industry. In the first part development of information technologies, their influence on business are analyzed. It is analyzed electronic models of business, ways of communication in Internet - marketing, principles of Internet - marketing. The executed analysis of the secondary data proves importance of Internet - marketing for business and positive prospects of development. In the second part position of the Lithuanian ceramic industry is analyzed, to be made the analysis of model of Internet - marketing in the Lithuanian and foreign firms. Abstract:
This diploma thesis aims to verify the properties of lead-free solders, which are subjected to accelerated aging by thermal cycling. The theoretical part describes in detail the most used lead-free solders and their characteristics. The next section describes fluxes and their important functions in the soldering process. Intermetallic compounds are also mentioned, which significantly affect the quality and service life of the soldered joint. In the practical parts, the test motif was on two different substrates - corundum ceramics and the widely used substrate FR-4 (Glass fiber fabric saturated with epoxy resin). SAC solder was chosen as the reference solder for the experiment, followed by solder containing bismuth (Sn42 / Bi58) and lead solder (Sn62 / Pb36 / Ag2). Accelerated aging by thermal cycling was performed in the temperature range from -20 ° C to 125 ° C, followed by performing a test of the mechanical strength of the soldered joint by means of a shear test. SnBi solder shows higher mechanical strength at the beginning of testing than SAC solder and lead solder, during temperature cycles, it significantly loses its mechanical properties, this is caused by increasing oxidation of the alloy. SAC solder seems to be promising, which has an almost constant decrease in mechanical strength during all temperature cycles on both corundum and FR-4 substrates.

In the doctoral thesis, the bi-layer ceramic bodies with core-shell geometry were prepared by thermoplastic co-extrusion method and for these composite bodies the mechanical properties were studied. For study of co-extrusion and mechanical properties were designed two composite systems. First system ZTA-A combined the dense core ZTA (zirconia-toughened alumina) and the dense shell Al2O3. Second system ZST-Z consisted of porous core and dense shell made from ZrO2 for both cases. In the thesis, the rheology of ceramic thermoplastic suspensions and their mutual influence during co-extrusion was studied. Subsequently, the debinding process and sintering were studied, and based on the optimization of all process steps were obtained defect-free bodies with core-shell geometry. The mechanical properties (elastic modulus, hardness and bending strength) were determined for sintered bodies. To estimate the stress path in the core shell bodies loaded in bending, the relationship considering different elastic moduli of the core and the shell was used. For bodies of ZTA-A system was increased the strength in comparison with monolithic bodies of the individual components. Thus, bodies with high surface hardness of shell from Al2O3 and moreover having high fracture strength in bending were obtained. The effective elastic modulus was decreased for bodies of ZST-Z system up to 25 % in comparison with the elastic modulus of dense monolithic samples. The same effective modulus of elasticity was possible to achieve with core-shell bodies while maintaining significantly higher fracture strength than monolithic porous bodies or pipes.

The introductory part of the work contains the detail characteristic of the ceramic tool materials from the point of view of their dividing, physic-mechanical propertis, production methods and marking. The main part of the work is focused to judging of the ceramic portion at the production assortment of the top World producers of tool materials and to evaluation of cutting ability of the particular materials of these producers. The detail analysis of recommended cutting conditions, which is aimed to an effective use of the ceramic materials, had been worked up for this purpose. The technical economic analysis confirms, that the present effective aplications of ceramic are limited only for specific cases of machining cast irons, steels and alloys.

Unter Anwendung der teilautomatisierten Verfahrensoptionen Mehrkomponentenspritzgießen und Inmould-Labelling, welches u. a. die Verwendung tiefgezogener Grünfolien beinhaltete, wurden hierzu 2K-Prüfkörpergeometrien (Zugstab, Biegebruchstab, Ringverbund) und 2K-Demonstratoren (Innenzahnrad, Fadenführer, Greifer) jeweils bestehend aus Stahl 17-4PH und ZrO2 (3%Y2O3), im Co-Sinterverfahren unter H2-Atmosphäre bei 1350°C, entwickelt. Schlüssel zur Darstellung schwindungskonformer ZrO2- und Stahl 17-4PH-Formgebungsmassen war der Angleich der Pulverpackungsdichte. Untersucht wurde neben der Werkstoff- und Gefügeausbildung das sich während dem Formgebungs- und Sinterprozess ausbildende Metall-Keramik-Interface sowie die sich bevorzugt in diesem Bereich manifestierenden Verbundeigenspannungen. Neben der stoffschlüssigen Versinterung beider Partner konnte eine Steigerung der Verbundfestigkeit durch Legierungsmodifikation unter Ausschluss technologischer Fehlerquellen erreicht und spezifiziert werden.

In der Arbeit wurden systematisch die Einflüsse der Werkstoffzusammensetzungen und relevanter Gefügeparameter von gasdruckgesinterten Si3N4-Keramiken mit amorphen YSiAlON-Korngrenzenphasen auf ihr Korrosionsverhalten in sauren, zum Teil fluoridhaltigen Medien untersucht und wesentliche Mechanismen aufgeklärt. Im Wesentlichen wird die Korrosionsbeständigkeit von Si3N4-Keramiken in Säuren durch die Stabilität der in den Tripelpunkten lokalisierten Korngrenzenphase bestimmt. Entscheidend für ihre Stabilität ist vor allem der Anteil an netzwerkbildenden Komponenten in den amorphen YSiAlON-Strukturen der Korngrenzenphasen. In Abhängigkeit von den Werkstoffzusammensetzungen und den Korrosionsbedingungen konnten unterschiedliche Korrosionsmechanismen identifiziert werden. Verantwortlich hierfür sind passivierend wirkende SiO2-nH2O-Ablagerungen in den korrodierten Korngrenzenzwickeln. Die gefundenen Relationen zwischen Werkstoffstoffzusammensetzung und Korrosionsmedien einerseits sowie dem Korrosionsverhalten andererseits sind die Basis für weitergehende Entwicklungen von korrosionsresistenten Werkstoffen.

Mokslinio darbo eigoje stengiausi aptarti neformaliojo meninio ugdymo plėtotės nuostatas, apžvelgti keramikinės veiklos ypatumus. Tyriamojoje dalyje pasistengiau ištirti keramikos užsiėmimų dalyvių požiūrį į keramikos užsiėmimų vaidmenį neformaliojo meninio ugdymo įstaigose. Padariau išvadas, kad neformaliojo meninio ugdymo plėtra yra svarbi ne tik žmogui, moksleiviui, kuris domisi menu, bet svarbi yra ir visai visuomenei, šalies kultūriniam gyvenimui. Keramikos menas prasidėjo nuo molinių buitinių dirbinių. Su kiekvienu amžiaus laikotarpiu ji tobulėjo. Jeigu senaisiais laikais keramikos dirbiniai buvo dažniausiai pritaikomi tik buityje, tai dabar jie puošia interjerus. Keramikai dalyvauja paroduose, keramikos dirbiniai vertinami ne tik kaip “daiktas, prekė”, bet ir kaip “meno kūrinys”. Ugdyme keramika užima svarbią vietą. Užsiimdamas keramikine veikla, dalyvis mokosi matyti, jausti, vertinti ir kūrti pagal grožio įstatymus. Dalyviai vysto savo prigimtinius meninius gabumus. Meninių priemonių pagalba išmoksta išreikšti savo mintis ir jausmus. Dirbdami su moliu ugdo darbinius įgūdžius, kruopštumą, atkaklumą, savarankiškumą. Pradeda labiau domėtis menu, kultūra. Išmoksta pastebėti ir saugoti grožį aplink save.
The aim of the thesis: To disclose the role of ceramics lessons at institutions of non-formal art education. In the course of this work, I discuss provisions for the development of non-formal art education and present an overview of the specifics of activities in ceramics. The research part explores the attitude of those who attend ceramics lessons and the role of ceramics lessons at institutions of non-formal art education. The conclusion is made that the development of non-formal art education is important not only to a person or a pupil interested in art, but also to society at large and the cultural life of the country. The earliest ceramics were pottery made from clay and used for domestic purposes. Ceramic works improved over the ages. In ancient times, ceramics were used exclusively for domestic needs, and now they also have a decorative function for interior design. Ceramics artists participate at exhibitions and ceramic works are valued not only as things/goods, but also as pieces of art. Ceramics play an important role. The participant engaged in ceramics lessons learns to see, feel, evaluate, and create according to the laws of aesthetics. This is how the innate artistic skills of the participants are developed. With the help of artistic means, they learn how to express their thoughts and feelings. Working with clay, they develop their work skills, accuracy, tenacity, and independence. Šioje daktaro disertacijoje pirmoje dalyje nustatyta šiuolaikinės, o antroje dalyje – archeologinės keramikos gaminių elementinė ir fazinė sudėtis, bei ištirta morfologija. Šiuolaikinės ir archeologinės keramikos pavyzdžių elementinė sudėtis nustatyta Rentgeno spindulių dispersinės analizės (EDX), liepsnos atominės absorbcinės spektrometrijos (LAAS), titrimetrinės ir spektrofotometrinės analizės metodais. Parodyta, kad visų keraminių pavyzdžių kokybinė bei kiekybinė sudėtis yra skirtinga Nustatyta, kad visuose keramikos mėginiuose pagrindiniai elementai yra silicis ir aliuminis. SiO2 sudaro 46 – 60% keramikos sudėties, Al2O3 – apie 17 – 33%. Fe, Na, Mg, K, Ca ir Ti mėginiuose rasta kelis kartus mažiau. EDX analizė gali būti sėkmingai naudojama nustatant pagrindinius elementus, kurių kiekiai viršija 0,5 % bendros elementinės sudėties. Norint nustatyti tikslią keramikos sudėtį ir pėdsakinius elementus reikia naudoti LAAS analizės metodą. Aliuminio kiekį keramikoje patikimai galima nustatyti titrimetriniu, o silicio ir titano kiekį – spektrofotometriniais metodais. Ištyrus šiuolaikę ir archeologinę keramiką Rentgeno spindulių difrakcine analize (XRD), nustatyta, kad visų keramikų pagrindinė fazė yra vienoda – silicio dioksidas SiO2, tačiau jų bendra fazinė sudėtis skiriasi. Skirtinguose kermikos pavyzdžiuose buvo aptikos šios fazės: kvarcas, dolomitas, kaolinas, albitas, mikroklinas, muskovitas, mulitas, hematitas, rutilas, diopsidas, korundas, titanitas, natrio anortitas... The elemental composition of the samples of modern and archaeological ceramics was determined using the energy dispersive X-ray analysis, flame atomic absorption spectrometry, titrimetric and spectrophotometric analysis methods. It has been shown that the qualitative and quantitative composition of all the samples is different. It has been established that silicon and aluminium are the main elements in all the samples. SiO2 accounts for 46–60 % of the composition of the ceramics, Al2O3 – for some 17–33%. The amounts of Fe, Na, Mg, K, Ca and Ti discovered in the samples are several times lesser. EDX analysis can successfully be used in determining the main elements whose amounts exceed 0.5% of the overall elemental composition. In order to determine the exact composition of ceramics one has to employ the FAAS analysis method. To determine in a credible manner the amount of aluminium in ceramics, one can use the titrimetric method, and the amount of silicon and titanium – spectrophotometric methods. Upon examination of the modern and archaeological ceramics by diffraction analysis it has been established that the main phase of all the samples is the same – quartz SiO2, however their phase composition varies. Dagens energianvändning minskar till följd av rådande miljöpolitik som kräver att industrier energieffektiviserar sina tillverkningsprocesser och minskar användningen av fossila bränslen. Målet med detta är att reducera den slutliga energianvändningen till 50 % och balansera eltillförseln i framtiden. Energieffektivisering och utveckling är två av de viktigaste aspekterna inom industriella processer som leder till hållbarhet och förändring av miljöpåverkan.  Utvecklingen inom eldfasta isoleringsmaterial gav stora möjligheter till stålindustrier att öka kvaliteten i materialtillverkningen samt minska värmeförluster i ugnsanläggningar. Detta leder framför allt till en ökad konkurrenskraft och minskad energikostnad. Besparingar inom energianvändningen skapar utrymme för nya investeringar som används till att förbättra stålindustrins effektivitet. Isoleringsmaterial används i dag i de flesta moderna industriella uppvärmningsugnar och problemen med dessa isoleringar är att de har begränsad livslängd vilket ställer kraven på noggrannare underhåll och högre investeringskostnader. Det finns i dagens läge inga särskilda metoder som kan kontrollera åldringen på isoleringen och endast begränsas till visuell inspektion vid avslagna ugnsanläggningar under planerade produktionstopp.   Vid inspektionerna av ugnens infodring upptäcks oftast större problem än vad som hade prognoserats. Detta orsakar många oplanerade reparationer med följd av förseningar i produktion som drabbar företagets ekonomi. Denna studie kommer att undersöka isoleringskvaliteten hos elektriska ugnar på ämneslinjen i Söderfors. Under detta arbete kommer riskzoner att lokaliseras där isoleringen drabbas mest under produktion och hur en sliten fiber påverkar ugnarnas verkningsgrader och energiförbrukning på företaget.                           Syftet med denna studie är att utarbeta metoder som grundar sig på ett prediktivt underhåll. Framtagning av produktionens effektivitet och ugnarnas verkningsgrader hjälper företaget att ha bättre kontroll över sina anläggningar. Detta skapar utrymme för nya investeringar vilket framför allt syftar till att balansera energianvändningen av uppvärmningsugnar men huvudsakligen svara på frågan hur snabbt degradering av keramisk fiber sker.   Resultatet som uppnås i detta arbete beskriver åldringen av fiber som inte sker konstant utan varierar på grund av ett antal förutsättningar, samt att rätt mängd kemisk sammansättning avgör isoleringskvaliteten. För att kunna följa åldringen tillämpas en ny mätmetod i praktiken som ger en noggrann status på isoleringensskick och kan prognosera kommande haverier.
Today's energy use is reduced as a result of current environmental policy, which requires industries to energy-efficient their manufacturing processes and reduce the use of fossil fuels. The goal of this is to reduce final energy consumption to 50% and balance future electricity supply. Energy efficiency and development are the most important aspects of industrial processes that lead to sustainability and change in environmental impact.   Developments in refractory insulation materials gave great opportunities for steel industries to increase the quality of material production and reduce heat losses in furnace plants. This leads in particular to increased competitiveness and reduced energy costs. Energy saving savings create room for new investments that are used to improve the steel industry's efficiency.   Insulation materials are currently used in most modern industrial heating furnaces and the problems with these insulations that they have a limited service life which imposes more accurate maintenance and higher investment costs. There are no specific methods today that can control the aging of the insulation and are limited only to visual inspection at decommissioned furnaces that can be carried out only on special occasions with planned production shutdowns.   The inspections of the oven's lining usually detect larger problems than had been forecast. This causes many unplanned repairs due to production delays that affect the company's economy. This study will investigate the insulation quality of electrical furnaces on the subject line in Söderfors. During this work, risk zones will be located where the insulation is most affected during production and how a worn wool affects the efficiency and energy consumption of the oven at the company.   The purpose of this study is to elaborate methods based on predictive maintenance, production efficiency, and efficiency of the ovens, helping the company to have better control over its facilities that provide room for new investment, which primarily aims to balance the energy use of heating ovens, but mainly to respond on the question of how fast ceramic wool degradation occurs.   The result achieved in this work describes the aging of wool that does not occur constantly but varies due to a number of conditions and that the right amount of chemical composition determines the insulation quality. In order to be able to follow the aging, a new measurement method is applied in practice that provides an accurate state of insulation condition and can predict future accidents.

Literature review of processing and toughening of bulk Al2O3 ceramics was performed. Based on performed experiments, optimal technological conditions of infiltration of alumina ceramics by nickel oxide and zirconia dioxide were found. These approaches were used for preparation of toughened alumina. The properties of sintered alumina matrix composites were discussed from the point of view of their hardness, bending strength, microstructure and phase composition.

Abstract:
Thisis an experimental study of lipid residues within the field of laboratoryarcheology. Pottery was made in a time like manner and used to cook grain and Icelandmoss and exposed to an organized biodegradation experiment inside an incubatorfor later analyzes with the GC-MS-method. Tests were also taken from pottery,grain and Iceland moss that had not been exposed for a biodegrading attempt.The grain is a domesticated cereal and the Icelandic moss fungi-alga mix. Thetest results showed mostly saturated fatty acids, sterols and monoacylglycerolsof saturated fatty acids. Within the laboratory archeology, ergosterol has beensuggested as a possible biomarker for yeast and alcohol fermentation. TheIceland moss contains ergosterol and is therefore relevant for the study whenit can be compared to archeological pottery that contains ergosterol. Theresults didn’t show any traces of ergostrol with the biodegraded pottery, butlow traces of cholesterol witch probably is contaminations from the handlingwith the pottery.
