Abstract:

Abstract:
Introduction. The study presented in the paper seeks to determine the role of the family in the development of creative thinking in adolescents. Research methods. The research employs the creativity test by E. P. Torrens, Kinetic drawing of the family by R. Burns. S. Kaufman; and the test questionnaire of parental attitude by A. Ya. Varga, V. V. Stolin. The results of the research. The study reveals and interprets correlations between the indicators of parental education and components of creative thinking in adolescents. Findings show that the families in which parents are interested in the affairs and plans of children, encourage their initiative and independence, trust them, and believe in their strength, creative thinking of children will be highly developed. It has also been empirically established that high values of the creative thinking components are achieved in the absence of hostility and conflict in the family. The study also notes that it is important for adolescents that parents require no obedience to their authority but encourage doubts in children and allow mistakes. It has been proved that family composition influences the development of creative thinking in adolescents. Nuclear families show higher creative thinking indicators when following the parental attitude style of Cooperation, while these indicators for incomplete ones are higher in the cases of Acceptance/Rejection and Control parental attitude styles. In general, the indicators “fluency”, “originality”, “readiness”, and general level of creative thinking are more developed in adolescents from nuclear families. Introduction. The heights of the parental figures drawn on the Kinetic Family Drawing by fifth-graders, 55 boys and 61 girls, showed that the 30 peer-accepted girls drew taller parental figures than the 28 peer-accepted boys. The peer-accepted girls drew taller mother figures than the 31 peer-rejected girls. Peer acceptance-rejection and possible sex differences are to be considered when evaluating the heights of the parental figures on the Kinetic Family Drawing.

Abstract:
Mental Self and Object Representations of 7–10-Year-Old Boys with Behavior DifficultiesBieliauskaitė R., Kuraitė E. SummaryThis study looked into the links between the external difficulties and the internal “self” and objects representations. The aim of the study was to compare the internal representations of the children with the behavioral difficulties to children with no behavioral difficulties in order to gain a better understanding of the inner structures which could be linked to inappropriate and aggressive behavior. Boys with behavioral difficulties aged 7–10-year-old were recruited and compared with the boys of the same age with no behavioral difficulties. 20 boys from the clinical sample and 10 boys from the control group – 30 boys in total – were assessed. The measure used to assess external difficulties was Child Behavior Checklist. Projective tools such as Children Apperception Test and Kinetic Family Drawing were applied to assess the representations. The results of the projective methods were analyzed with the “Social Cognition and Object Relations Scale“ (SCORS) and “The Global Rating Scale”. According to SCORS four dimensions of internal representations were assessed: complexity of representations of people, affective quality of representations, emotional investment in relationships, values and moral standards and understanding social causality. The study results show that inner “self” and object representations of the boys with behavioral difficulties are different from the ones of the boys without behavioral difficulties. Representations of the clinical sample are less differentiated, have a negative emotional tone. These boys also show a lower capacity for emotional investment in relationships and moral standards, an impaired understanding of social causality. Boys with the behavioral difficulties see others as indifferent, rejecting, vulnerable, unreliable, inconsistent and not being able to help. Their inner “self” is represented as vulnerable and rejected, unattached to his family. The projective method used in the study and analysis of the data allows us to predict behavioral difficulties. Mental representations of children with behavioral difficulties have specific characteristics. The different experiences in long term psychotherapy could transform those characteristics into more adaptable ones.Key words: boys with behavior difficulties, mental self and object representations, projective tools.

Abstract:
One hundred and forty-nine 5th-grade boys and girls were administered a set of social schemata figures, including both dyad and family configurations in a variation of Kuethe's Felt Figure Replacement Technique. They were also asked to draw a Kinetic Family Drawing. The hypothesis that accepted children will place and draw themselves closer to other figures than will rejected children was not supported. The data did, however, indicate that acceptance-rejection is a more crucial factor for girls than for boys. A puzzling finding in the KFD was analyzed. The hypothesis that girls place and draw themselves closer to other figures than do boys was supported, but only for the accepted group, not for the rejected group. The data wre compared to those from research involving aggressive and nonaggressive boys. It is apparent that peer acceptance-rejection is not equivalent to peer aggression-nonaggression.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTBackground: The aim of this study was to identify the neural correlates of each component of the clock drawing test (CDT) in drug-naïve patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) using single photon emission computed tomography. Methods: The participants were 95 drug-naïve patients with AD. The Rouleau CDT was used to score the clock drawings. The score for the Rouleau CDT (R total) is separated into three components: the scores for the clock face (R1), the numbers (R2), and the hands (R3). A multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the relationship of each score (i.e. R total, R1, R2, and R3) with regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF). Age, gender, and education were included as covariates. The statistical threshold was set to a family-wise error (FWE)-corrected p value of 0.05 at the voxel level. Results: The R total score was positively correlated with rCBF in the bilateral parietal and posterior temporal lobes and the right middle frontal gyrus. R1 was not significantly positively correlated with rCBF, R2 was significantly positively correlated with rCBF in the right posterior temporal lobe and the left posterior middle temporal lobe, and R3 was significantly positively correlated with rCBF in the bilateral parietal lobes, the right posterior temporal lobe, the right middle frontal gyrus, and the right occipital lobe. Conclusions: Various brain regions were associated with each component of the CDT. These results suggest that an assessment of these components is useful for the detection of localization of brain damage.

Abstract:
A total of 358 college students were given the Draw-A-Person Test (DAP; Machover, 1949) along with a Family Structure Item Form. The sex of the person drawn was compared to the participant's sex and family background characteristics. Results support drawing of a same-sexed individual as normative, regardless of sex. However, a significantly larger number of women than men drew the opposite sex first. Compared to previous studies on Jordanian populations, women drew the opposite sex figure less often than their previous counterparts. This phenomenon and other findings pertaining to some significant family variables are discussed in a sociocultural context and suggestions for future research are presented.

Abstract:
Only rarely have geneticists, neurobiologists and psychologists availed themselves of twins for the study of the human mind's individuality. I believe, on the contrary, that twin data represent an invaluable means of research also for phenomena connected with human individuality and the functioning of the nervous system. To this end I thought of having MZ and DZ twins take a creativity test by means of spontaneous drawings of a single subject applied to individual MZ and DZ twin pairs. The preselected twins totalled 31 MZ and 13 DZ pairs of an age span during which the twins live together and experience the same environmental influences. The creativity test I devised consists of asking the twins to make a drawing of the family mealtime scene at which they all participate. The drawings were to be made on identical pieces of white paper, selecting colors from the same box of colored pencils given to each of them. When the test was explained, each twin was placed in a different room with no possibility of communication, and was asked to make the drawing, supervised at a distance by an assistant. In order to analyze the drawings, I established ten parameters: 1) First impression at a glance; 2) Choice of colors; 3) Choice of perspective; 4) Choice of persons' positions; 5) Emphasis on twins; 6) Shape of table; 7) Table settings and food dishes; 8) Room furniture; 9) Drawing of building; 10) Landscape.

Abstract:
Family-centred care is a ubiquitous term in paediatric health facilities. It means that an admitted child can never be treated as a single individual patient, that the family is the unit of care, as the parents and family are central to the child’s wellbeing, especially during traumatic experiences. There is no rigorous evidence that family-centred care works, but qualitative research is drawing out some grave concerns with how it is implemented. Part of the problem is that there are many descriptions of family-centred care, but few definitions, and some of its component parts may be in place in some health services without the whole model being in place. This causes confusion amongst health professionals and parents and children, and makes it impossible to test in a randomised controlled trial. This paper discusses these problems and suggests that a new model, child-centred care, may be a better model of care for children.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between psychomotor development and visual creativity. Thirty students ranging in age from 6 to 7.5 years had participated in the study. For the measurement of psychomotor development, the Degree of Kinetic Performance was used from the application of a Set of four kinetic tests of K.T.K. test (Schillinh & Kiphard, 1974). To measure artistic creativity, three tests were administered which were a combination of the Test Torrance of Creative Thinking (Torrance, 1998) and the Test for Creative Thinking Drawing Production (Urban & Jellen, 2010). Specifically, the Test Torrance of Creative Thinking used the element of completing the circle and in the (Urban & Jellen, 2010) test the element of humor was used, as one of the factors measuring creativity. The tests of creativity were evaluated by two different judges who were visual artists and professors at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Ioannina. The results showed that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the Degree of Kinetic Performance and artistic creativity and in particular with aptitude, originality and processing. Psychomotor development reveals the inextricable link between mental and motor activities, addresses the whole of the human condition and it is a key area of pre-school and school education of kinetic development with artistic creativity. Future research could also look at an extended sample of the relationship between physical-motor performance and visual creativity in early and late childhood students possibly with a larger number of diagnostic tests.

Abstract:
Calling upon stakeholder theory and the socioemotional wealth (SEW) literature, we investigate how SEW impacts the decline-stemming strategies of family firms. Drawing on a recent conceptualization of SEW, we validate a two-dimensional measurement of the construct using a content analysis technique. Our empirical test on a sample of publicly traded family firms in need of turnaround suggests that the strategic preferences of family firms change depending upon the type of SEW (extended vs. restricted) the owning family values the most. The fine-grained characterization of SEW adopted in this study accounts for within-family-firm differences and thus enables the reconciliation of conflicting findings in the literature.

Abstract:
Next-generation engagement is a key contributor to the success and continuity of family firms. Family relationships are an important factor in shaping such engagement. However, we know little as to how this engagement process unfolds, especially during the formative years of next-generation members. Using the principles of social cognitive theory and drawing on the career development, organizational behavior, and family business literature, we theorize the indirect influence of perceived parental support and psychological control on next-generation engagement in family firms through the mediating variables of self-efficacy and commitment to the family business. We discuss several possible avenues to test and extend this model in future research.

Abstract:
In this paper, drawing on literature from both STS and the anthropology of kinship, we describe a political movement aimed at legal reparation for human rights violations perpetrated by the Brazilian government against children of the compulsorily institutionalized patients of Hansen's disease. We conduct our investigation by exploring the action of intertwining technologies -- narrated recollections, written documents, and the DNA test -- employed by major actors to "reckon" the family connections at the core of this drama. The notion of technologies helps underline not only the materiality of certain processes, but also the complex temporalities at play. Responding to a challenge proposed by Janet Carsten, our ultimate aim is to show how political events as well as collective institutionalized structures - operating through the mediation of these diverse technologies - produce a particular kind of sociality, interwoven with perceptions of family and community.

Abstract:
Does the presence of multiple and unrelated family controllers improve firm performance? Drawing on both agency and behavioral agency theories, we argue that multifamily firms outperform single-family firms since families in multifamily firms actively monitor owners’ socioemotional goals. Additionally, we suggest that a balanced distribution of control among the owning families facilitates the monitoring process. Finally, we argue that the focal relationship follows an inverted U-shaped pattern depending on the number of families controlling the firm. We test our hypotheses using a sample of Chilean publicly listed family firms. Our study extends current knowledge of the uniqueness of multifamily firms.

Abstract:
Relevance. The presence of pyrogenic impurities in finished dosage forms of concentrated cultural anti-rabies vaccines produced in the Russian Federation is determined using pyrogenicity tests on rabbits (in vivo). In accordance with the decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated September 7, 2018 N 151 «On the approval of guidelines for drawing up a regulatory document on the quality of a medicinal product», one of the requirements for parenteral drugs is the determination of bacterial endotoxins. This document indicates that the regulatory documentation should include a test and an admissibility criterion for bacterial endotoxins (BE) using the horseshoe crab amoebocyte lysate technique.Aims. Experimental evaluation of the possibility of using the LAL-test to determine bacterial endotoxins in national vaccines for the prevention of rabies.Materials and methods. The research of the drug «Cultural antirabies vaccine concentrated inactivated purified» of national production was carried out in accordance with the National Pharmacopoeia of the Russian Federation, General Pharmacopoeia Monograph OFS.1.2.4.0006.15 in three modifications: gel-clot test: methods A, B; turbidimetric kinetic test: method C; chromogenic kinetic test: method D.Results. Was investigated 6 series of the national vaccines for the prevention of rabies from two national manufacturers (using three pharmacopoeial methods). LAL reagent produced by two companies (Charles River Endosafe® and Lonza). In order to confirm the reproducibility of the method, the gel-clot test was carried out at different time intervals by one or two operators. During the research was determined the possibility of using photometric methods (method C and D).Conclusions. The research proved the possibility of determining bacterial endotoxins by methods: gel-clot test (method A), turbidimetric kinetic test (method C) and chromogenic kinetic test (method D). Method B is recommended for quantitative analysis of vaccine without instrumental methods. During the research all national vaccines for the prevention of rabies was free from bacterial endotoxins (no more 25 EU/ml).

Abstract:
Incumbents typically seek a highly committed and at the same time highly competent child as a successor, yet such a candidate is often not available. Extant literature is unable to predict which desired attribute—commitment (i.e., willingness) or competence (i.e., ability)—is most important in this dilemma. Drawing from institutional logics literature, we suggest that the incumbent’s personal experiences, education, and cultural embeddedness, as much as firm-level situational stimuli, direct incumbent attention to either corporate logic, favoring competence, or family logic, favoring commitment, to guide decision-making about which family member to choose as a successor. We test our hypotheses using policy capturing with responses of 1,060 family firm owner-managers, and contribute to research on succession, family firms, and institutional logics.
