Black, Alan, and Greg Saunders. "Offshore gas field development – the ripple effect." APPEA Journal 58, no. 2 (2018): 695. http://dx.doi.org/10.1071/aj17157.

Abstract:
The Kipper field is developed via a subsea tieback to the West Tuna platform, and produced into the Gippsland gas processing facilities to supplement long-term energy supply in South-East Australia. During the 2010 Kipper development drilling campaign, mercury was detected in the reservoir fluids. This late discovery required a change to the Kipper development plan due to the ripple effect of mercury along the production path. There are several key execution steps in brownfield concept design, and it is essential to select options that can cope with the reservoir variations and risks associated with tie-ins to brownfield assets. This paper describes how best practice execution was achieved by making good decisions when faced with change late in the field development cycle. The work highlights the benefits of having a clear understanding of the project drivers, options and brownfield constraints to select the right concept. Despite delays to production start-up until 2017, the Kipper Mercury Removal Project was successfully installed, and work practices updated to allow the Kipper field to be safely produced.

Abstract:
The low side fault-dependent Kipper oil and gas discovery is unique in many ways:It is the first significant hydrocarbon discovery in the Golden Beach Group. The primary S-1 reservoir has a 328 m gross gas column with a 14 m gross oil leg, with estimated in place oil and gas volumes of 30 MMSTB and 750 BSCF respectively. The S-1 reservoir is top-sealed by a volcanic unit which is over 100 metres thick and separates the Golden Beach Group from the overlying Latrobe Group.Critical fault seal is interpreted to be dependent on the complex inter-relationship of Golden Beach Group stratigraphy: fluvio-deltaic S-1 reservoir sands juxtaposed against a thick lacustrine shale.S-1 reservoir geometry and continuity is complex, with significant lateral facies variation between Kipper-1 and Kipper-2.The Kipper discovery has focused attention on the Golden Beach Group play, and also proved the effectiveness of two very important prospect components for that play, i.e. regional volcanics can provide a competent top seal for hydrocarbons in the Gippsland Basin, and that fault-dependent prospects on the down-thrown side of the major basin margin faults can prove to be successful traps.

Abstract:
Three unknown varieties of the Prague kipper coins by B. Hübmer produced in the Prague mint are described in this article. The coins differ from the recently documented types in the following small details: mint-master’s mark in brackets, form of year or differences in eagle’s image. Information about these issues has been enriched, and it can help in creation of the ‘complete survey’ of the Bohemian kipper coins. Basic notes for collectors about rarity of these coins are also implemented in the article.

Abstract:
The tectonic history of the northern flank of the offshore Gippsland Basin can be divided into three phases:an Early Cretaceous rift phase (120-98 Ma) with deposition of the Strzelecki Group and extension in a northeast-southwest direction.a mid-Cretaceous phase (98-80 Ma) with deposition of the Golden Beach Group and extension in a northwest- southeast direction anda Late Cretaceous to Tertiary sag phase with intermittent compression or wrenching.Previous workers have described the first and third phases. This paper argues for a distinctive second phase with extension at right angles to the first phase. The complex Cretaceous structure in the Kipper-Hammerhead area is interpreted in terms of a model in which transfer faults of the first phase became domino faults of the second phase.

Abstract:
Aim. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and risk factors ofH. pyloriinfection in areas with high prevalence of gastric cancer in Jiangsu Province, China.Methods. A prospective epidemiologic survey ofH. pyloriinfection was accomplished in a natural population of 5417 individuals in Yangzhong city. Questionnaires and 13C-urea breath test forH. pyloriinfection were performed.Results. Among 5417 subjects who completed questionnaires and 13C-urea breath test, 3435 (63.41%) wereH. pyloripositive. The prevalence reached a peak at the age of 30–39 years (90.82%). There was significant difference between sexes and women had a higher infection rate than men. The prevalence ofH. pyloriinfection was also associated with eating kipper food and fried food. No association betweenH. pyloriprevalence and smoking or drinking was found. Compared to healthy individuals, people with dyspeptic diseases (peptic ulcer, gastroenteritis) presented a high prevalence ofH. pyloriinfection. Using multivariate logistic regression analysis, age and history of peptic ulcer and gastroenteritis were the independent predictors forH. pyloriinfection.Conclusions. Yangzhong city had a high prevalence ofH. pyloriinfection and was related to several risk factors. The underlying mechanisms are needed to be further investigated.

Abstract:
One of the Victorian Government's policies in the oil and gas area is to enhance the benefits to the State in the energy sector by assessing the nature and extent of the petroleum resources. To evaluate the production capacity of developed and undeveloped gas fields, a comprehensive study was commissioned by the DITR in 1988. The first step in a study of this type is to check the accuracy of the depth maps, to see if they adequately describe the reservoir geometry. Raypath modelling, using the Advanced Interpretation Mapping System (AIMS ? Version III), was carried out by Geophysical Services International (GSI), Sydney, on a number of selected profiles over the Snapper, Marlin-Turrum, Barracouta, Kipper and Emperor fields for the DITR. Input data for the models were extracted from the operator's maps. The software simulates the normal incidence raypaths (or wave theory solution) for all shotpoints, and from this information it generates gather records and/or synthetic seismic profiles. By comparing the model data with those from data acquisition, processing and interpretation, it was possible to check the validity of the interpretation of the reservoir's geometry. This modelling work showed that the synthetic data were comparable with the acquisition and processing data, confirming that the depth maps (tied to well control) produced by the operator using its proprietary software are adequate and most likely to represent subsurface configuration of the reservoirs.

Abstract:
The Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) is an influential and rapidly growing nationwide network of charter schools serving primarily disadvantaged minority students. Prominent elements of KIPP's educational model include high expectations for student achievement and behavior, and a substantial increase in time in school. KIPP is being watched closely by policy makers and educators as a possible model for urban education, but existing studies of KIPP's effects on students have been subject to methodological limitations, making them less than conclusive. We measure the achievement impacts of forty-one KIPP middle schools across the country, using propensity-score matching to identify traditional public school students with similar characteristics and prior-achievement histories as students who enter KIPP. We find consistently positive and statistically significant impacts of KIPP on student achievement, with larger impacts in math than reading. These impacts persist over four years following admission, and are not driven by attrition of low performers from KIPP schools.

Abstract:
The study was carried out to assess the microbial quality for shelf life of different bread and cake samples, locally produced in Tangail city of Bangladesh. A total 10 samples of different brand bread and cake were collected from different shop kipper for microbiological analysis. The total viable count (TVC) of samples ranged from 1.0 × 102 cfu/g to 1.3 × 106 cfu/g at first day, 1.17 × 108 cfu/g to 7.3 × 1010 cfu/g at third day and 2.35 × 1014 cfu/g to 1.2 ×1018cfu/g at fifth day, where WHO permitted maximum 2.0x105 cfu/g for TVC. Total coliform count (TCC) ranged from 2 cfu/g to 244 cfu/g at first day, 1.07× 105 cfu/g to 3.3× 108 cfu/g at third day and 2.08 × 1010 cfu/g to 1.9 × 1014 cfu/g at fifth day (maximum permitted value 200 cfu/g). Again, total fungal count (TFC) ranged from 6 cfu/g to 1.1 × 106 cfu/g at first day, 1.23× 106 cfu/g to 2.2 × 1012 cfu/g at third day and 1.82× 1013 cfu/g to 9.2 × 1017 cfu/g at fifth day (maximum permitted value 1×105 cfu/g). According to the WHO Standard, the microbiological parameters of all collected bread and cake were out of the permitted standards after third day. It was postulated that lack of good manufacturing practices including poor hygiene and sanitation, nutrient rich bread and cake makes a good medium for microbial growth. Therefore, an immediate step should be taken to aware the bakery owner as well as consumers about the sanitation and hygiene to make safety food products.J. Environ. Abstract:
In the Tuna area, Turonian rifting between Australia and the Lord Howe Rise produced extensive irregular NE–SE to ENE–WSW trending Emperor Subgroup depocentres by oblique reactivation of inherited Early Cretaceous Strzelecki Group and Palaeozoic basement fault geometries. Santonian Tasman seafloor spreading rotated the stress vectors clockwise so that NE–SW Emperor Subgroup syn-rift depocentres were abandoned and more easterly trends were reactivated. This developed the Proto-Rosedale Fault across the northern margin as a complex series of branching fault splays with reactivated ENE–WSW trending segments and new east– west hard linkages. In the Late Cretaceous, extension vectors rotated a further 45o clockwise sympathetic to NW–SE trending Tasman Sea mid oceanic ridges. ENE– WSW trending splays of the Proto-Rosedale Fault became abandoned and overprinted by new Maastrichtian NW–SE trending segments perpendicular to the NE–SW stress field. By the Paleocene these segments had linked, displaying en echelon geometries above the obliquely reactivated Proto-Rosedale Fault. Tasman seafloor spreading and fault-controlled subsidence in Gippsland had finished by the Early Eocene. Extension was punctuated by Coniacian-Santonian, Eocene and Oligocene compressive pulses that inverted abandoned splays of the Proto-Rosedale Fault forming the Tuna faulted anticline oil and gas traps. The Santonian-Campanian Proto-Rosedale Fault and other similarly oriented structures are promising fairways for deep exploration. Attractive reservoir targets include stacked braided fluvial channel sands of the Golden Beach Subgroup deposited along NE–SW to ENE–WSW trending segments of the Proto-Rosedale Fault. Anticlinal traps developed during multiple Cretaceous and Tertiary compressive phases. Campanian dykes, sills and flows are prevalent in the Golden Beach section and offer the potential for effective seal as seen in the Kipper field.

Abstract:
Knowledge is Power Program Delta College Preparatory School (KIPP DCPS), an open-enrollment charter school,1 opened in 2002 in Helena, Arkansas. KIPP DCPS students have consistently outperformed their peers from neighboring districts on year-end student achievement scores, and KIPP’s national reputation led Arkansas lawmakers to exempt KIPP from the state’s charter school cap. Yet, skeptics of KIPP in particular, and charter schools in general, voiced a concern that the apparent KIPP advantage in student achievement may have been due to the prior academic ability of the students who selected into KIPP rather than to the KIPP school itself. Furthermore, some KIPP critics have argued that student attrition at KIPP schools accounts for the apparent KIPP advantage. Until now, no prior study has rigorously compared performance of KIPP students with traditional public school peers on matched observable academic and demographic variables or carefully considered student attrition rates at KIPP DCPS. Here, we begin by summarizing prior evaluations of KIPP schools nationally. Next, we carefully examine student attrition from 2005 through 2011, and we find that KIPP DCPS attrition resembles that found in nearby traditional public schools. Finally, using regression models that control demographic and prior academic indicators, we find that KIPP DCPS students gain significantly more each year on standardized assessments than do their matched peers. These results are important as nearly all prior empirical work on KIPP schools has been conducted in urban settings. Despite the fact that many rural students struggle academically or attend struggling schools, we know relatively little about the potential benefits of No Excuses charter schools in rural areas, such as KIPP DCPS.

Abstract:
A feminist analysis of Bavli Yoma draws our attention to one of the ways the rabbis reflect on their relationship with the priesthood, which is through the lens of the physical body. The Temple procedure detailed in the first seven chapters of the tractate, focused as it is on the priest's body, is entirely different from the bodily self-denial discussed in the eighth chapter, where eating, washing, anointing, sandal wearing, and sexual relations are prohibited. Continuities between the observance of Yom Kippur in the Temple and the prohibitions that define the rabbinic Yom Kippur are surprisingly lacking, given the extent to which the rabbis controlled both the Temple accounts in Yoma and the discussions about Yom Kippur in the eighth chapter of this tractate. Focusing on references to feet, a part of both the Temple rite and the rabbinic observance of Yom Kippur, this article will present one perspective on how the Bavli offers insight into the rabbinic departure from the Temple Yom Kippur.

Abstract:
The boom in Australian oil and gas development continued in 2013, with record overall investment of $60 billion. This investment resulted from spending on the seven LNG projects under development, together with that on numerous other oil and gas developments. These projects are expected to collectively contribute up to 665 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) to Australia’s oil and gas production, which totaled 513.8 MMboe in 2013. LNG, presently Australia’s seventh largest export, is likely to soon rival the nation’s largest export, iron ore. By the end of 2013, three of the LNG projects under construction—Gorgon, Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) and Gladstone LNG (GLNG)—were more than 70% complete; first LNG will be before the end of 2014 for QCLNG and in 2015 for Gorgon, GLNG and Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG). The other three LNG projects—Wheatstone, Prelude and Ichthys—are close behind. These new LNG projects follow Pluto, Australia’s third LNG project, which commenced production in 2012. A full year of production from Pluto drove increased gas production in 2013. Woodside also completed the North Rankin redevelopment and continued development of the Greater Western Flank, both of which will extend the life of the North West Shelf (NWS) project. A number of other projects also commenced production. In the Carnarvon Basin, oil production began at Santos’s Fletcher-Finucane Field, and at BHP Billiton’s Macedon project, domestic gas production started. In the Timor Sea, PTTEP’s Montara Field began production of oil. In Victoria, the ExxonMobil Kipper-Turrum-Tuna project came online, with the production of gas from Tuna and oil from Turrum. Production of gas from Origin Energy’s Geographe Field (as part of the Otway Gas Project) commenced in mid-2013. Onshore oil production grew in 2013, with the Cooper-Eromanga Basin now producing more oil than any other onshore Australian basin. A major effort is underway to increase production from the western flank oil trend and to develop both the conventional and unconventional gas fields in the Cooper Basin. Spending on the development of new projects probably peaked in 2013 and there is growing concern about a dearth of future projects, with expansion of existing LNG projects and development of new projects being pushed back due to a combination of increased costs and growing international competition. There are also ongoing industry concerns about impediments to onshore gas exploration and development generally.
