Discussed decade was characterized by the policy of engagement or the sunshine policy of the Republic of Korea, respectively. This represented a concept of friendly relationship towards the DPRK, aiming at final unification. Detailed description of the political development year by year and its evaluation is the subject of this thesis.

Abstract:
The thesis introduces the Juche ideology and examines its impact on the North Korean regime. The main objective is to evaluate the role of the DPRK in the system of international relations, with regard to the Juche ideology. Due to the fact that in the DPRK and the mutual relations with other countries, it is very difficult to find a direct link with the ideas of proclaimed ideology, the main characteristics for a given pair of countries is emphasised. Mutual relations with five countries, which are articipating in the six-party talks with DPRK(the disarmament process is discussed in a separate section of thesis) are commented on. The role of the European Union is mentioned, because in the future, the EU could happen for several reasons, an important partner for the DPRK.

Prvním cílem mé diplomové práce je srovnání přístupů americké zahraniční politiky vůči SK za doby posledních dvou amerických prezidentů, B. Clintona a G.W. Bushe. Metodologie takové komparace je založena na srovnání nejvýznamnějších dokumentů uzavřených nejen mezi USA a SK, ale i během šestistranných rozhovorů, a to od počátku volebního období B. Clintona do roku 2007. Diplomová práce dále zkoumá rozdílnost a výsledky praktické zahraniční politiky USA vůči SK. Druhým cílem diplomové práce je prodiskutovat roli Číny ve vztahu k severokorejským problémům a najít období, kdy se Čína zapojila do šestistranných rozhovorů.

Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the relationship between China and the Korean Peninsula. It examines China's view on the peninsula, its ties to and influence over this region and its conceptions for the future of the peninsula. The thesis concentrates on the relations between the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Nevertheless, the relationship between them is analyzed in the context of the Chinese long-term strategy for the Korean Peninsula. The primary Chinese interests related to North Korea are identified together with instruments that can China use to accomplish them. Special focus is given to the assessment of the economic influence that China has over North Korea. However, the Chinese economic leverage is examined in connection with political and military relations between those two countries and in broader context of the development of international relations in Northeast Asia.

Denne masteroppgaven er en sosiologisk studie som forsøker å beskrive hvordan selvpresentasjon uttrykt gjennom sminke og klær kan forstås i lys av transnasjonalisme, og på hvilken måte og i hvilken grad selvpresentasjon bidrar til integrasjon med ulike samfunnsgrupper i Norge. Studien er en kvalitativ analyse basert på empirisk materiale bestående av sju dybdeintervju av polske jenter som enten har bodd eller bor i Norge. Denne oppgaven har en hovedproblemstilling og en underproblemstilling. Hovedproblemstillingen er: Hvordan kan polske jenters liv i Norge forstås i lys av transnasjonalisme?. Underproblemstillingen er: Bidrar selvpresentasjon til integrasjon med det norske samfunnet sett i fra et transnasjonalt perspektiv og hvilken rolle har selvbilde i denne sammenhengen? Hovedkonklusjonen i denne studien er at livet til informantene i stor grad berøres av transnasjonalisme ved at det skapes en transnasjonal identitet og transnasjonal selvpresentasjon, som begge består av både polske og norske elementer. Den transnasjonale selvpresentasjonen brukes da som et verktøy for å gjøre inntrykk på og bli akseptert av nordmenn i en integrasjonsprosess.

Abstract:
Kvicksilver har länge varit ett populärt ämne i flertalet olika produkter på grund utav dess unika egenskaper. Detta har lett till en stor mängd av ämnet går att finna i olika produkter som förbränns i avfallsförbränning. Ämnet är dock väldigt farligt för djur och människor och därav är det av hög prioritet att utsläppen till luft minimeras. Att oxidera kvicksilver från dess elementära form Hg0 till Hg2+ anses vara av största vikt på grund utav att den senare är i högre graden enklare att rena från rökgaserna. Syftet med detta examensarbete var att se om kvicksilver förekommer i högre halt som Hg0 istället för Hg2+ i rökgaserna vid ändrade förhållanden av klor och svavel. Där den förstnämnda är olöslig i vatten och därav svårfångad i dagens reningssystem. Den kan dessutom existera i luft en längre tid och anses vara ett av de mer miljöfarliga ämnena i världen. Examensarbetet har gjorts tillsamman med Umeå Energi AB. För att nå en slutsats har en omfattande litteraturstudie gjorts om ämnet samt mätningar av kvicksilver i rökgaserna från avfallsförbränningsanläggningen Dåva 1 utanför Umeå. Mätningarna utfördes med och utan tillsats av extra svavel i form av bildäck. Analys har även utförts av innehållet i aska ifrån partikelfiltret samt överhettaren för att få en överblick huruvida dess innehåll kan ha gjort någon påverkan.  Mätningarna påvisade att svavel gjorde en påtaglig påverkan på mängden kvicksilver. Vid tillsats av svavel så gavs det indikatorer på att halten av Hg0 ökade. Den mest troliga anledningen till detta tros vara den ökade mängden SO3 som uppmättes i rökgaserna vid det tillfälle då extra svavel var tillsatt. Den ökande mängden kan sedan ha absorberats av de aktiverade kolet som tillsätts innan rökgasreningen, som annars skulle ha absorberat Hg0. Detta är inget slutgiltigt resultat och vidare undersökning är att rekommendera. En annan möjlig teori är att tillsatts av svavel ökar mängden Na2SO4 i filtret. Vilket kan leda till minskad NaCl i filtret som kanske är effektivare vid oxidation av Hg0 än HCl. Mätningarna gav även antydan om att nuvarande reningssystem fungerar bra även vid ökade halter kvicksilver i rågasen. Ökning av kvicksilver i rökgaserna som tros ha orsakats av svaveltillsatsen gav ingen ökning av kvicksilverutsläpp i luft.
For a long time, mercury has been a very popular to use in different kinds of products due to its unique properties. Which has led to a lot of different things containing mercury ends up in waste plants to be incinerated. Mercury are also considered to be one of the most dangerous substances and therefore emissions needs to be kept at minimum. Oxidizing mercury from its form Hg0 to Hg2+ is considered to be extremely important due to the later are easier to remove from the flue gas. The main objective with this thesis was to investigate if mercury would exist more in its elementary form Hg0 than its oxidized state Hg2+ in the flue gas when the ratio between sulfur and chlorine was changed. The former is insoluble in water and therefore difficult to remove from the flue gas with today’s cleaning facility’s. It is also considered one of the more dangerous substances in the world. The project was done in collaboration with Umeå Energi AB. The method that was used to explore this was measuring the mercury content of the flue gas from the waste fired boiler Dåva 1 outside Umeå. The measurement was done with and without extra sulfur added to the fuel in the form of car tires. An additional analysis was done on the ash from the fabricfilter and from the superheater to see if there was something there to give some clarity on why there would be any change in the amount of mercury. The measurement did indeed indicate that sulfur increases the amount of mercury in the flue gas. The main theory to why this has occurred was the increased amount of SO3, which could be found in the flue gas when extra sulphur was added. SO3 is then absorbed by the activated carbon that is added to the flue gas that should have absorbed Hg0 instead. However, this result is not conclusive and further studies needs to be done. Another possible theory to why this has occurred could be that the increase of sulfur could lead to more Na2SO4 in the particle filter. Which could have led to a decrease of NaCl in the filter that could perhaps be a more efficient oxidizing agent of Hg0 than HCl. Another thing that has been revealed is that the cleaning systems that is used today is capable of cleaning mercury from the flue gas even though the added sulfur caused an increase in the amount.

Abstract:
Syftet med denna kvalitativa rapport är att undersöka konsumenters förståelse, trovärdighet och attityd gentemot modeföretags gröna marknadsföring på Instagram. Utifrån det har vi förhoppningar om att våra resultat skall kunna bidra med insikter och kunskap om hur modeföretag kan legitimera sig på Instagram för att öka sin tillförlitlighet från ett konsumentperspektiv. Rapportens empiriska material samlades in genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer. Respondenterna delades in i två kategorier: respondenter med textil kännedom samt respondenter utan textil kännedom. Indelningarna gjordes av anledning att erhålla åsikter och tankar från två olika perspektiv. Sammanlagt utfördes 16 intervjuer som gav oss nödvändig data för vidare analys. Datan analyserades utifrån en analysmodell som utgick från vårt teoretiska ramverk. De aktuella modeföretagen i rapporten var slow fashion företaget FilippaK och fast fashion företaget Gina Tricot. Resultaten från rapporten påvisar att respondenternas trovärdighet samt attityd gentemot modeföretag stärks om den gröna marknadsföringen är tydlig och lättförståelig. Håller den gröna marknadsföringen en allmän grundnivå indikerar det på att fler individer förstår innebörden och inte endast de med bakgrundskunskap inom textil- och modeindustrin. Modeföretag bör således ta i beaktning hur det gröna språket i marknadsföringen kan bli mer tydligt och lättförståeligt för att öka trovärdigheten samt attityden från konsumenter.
The purpose of this qualitative report is to examine consumers' understanding, credibility and attitude towards fashion companies green marketing on Instagram. Based on this, we hope that our results will contribute with insights and knowledge about how fashion companies can legitimize themselves on Instagram to increase their reliability from a consumer perspective. The empirical material of the report was collected through semi-structured interviews. The respondents were divided into two categories: respondents with textile knowledge and respondents without textile knowledge. The divisions were made in order to obtain opinions and thoughts from two different perspectives. A total of 16 interviews were conducted which gave us the necessary data for further analysis. The data were analyzed from an analysis model based on our theoretical framework. The current fashion companies in the report were the slow fashion company Filippa K and the fast fashion company Gina Tricot. The results from the report show that the respondents credibility and attitude towards the companies is strengthened if the green marketing is clear and easy to understand. If green marketing maintains a general basic level, it indicates that more individuals understand the meaning and not only those with background knowledge in the textile and fashion industry. Fashion companies should therefore take into account how the green language in marketing can become clearer and easier to understand in order to increase the credibility and attitude of consumers.

Abstract:
The Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is among the most widely used parametric probability distributions for representing data. However, it is complicated to analyze the relationship among GMMs since they lie on a high-dimensional manifold. Previous works either perform clustering of GMMs, which learns a limited discrete latent representation, or kernel-based embedding of GMMs, which is not interpretable due to difficulty in computing the inverse mapping. In this paper, we propose Parametric Manifold Learning of GMMs (PML-GMM), which learns a parametric mapping from a low-dimensional latent space to a high-dimensional GMM manifold. Similar to PCA, the proposed mapping is parameterized by the principal axes for the component weights, means, and covariances, which are optimized to minimize the reconstruction loss measured using Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD). As the KLD between two GMMs is intractable, we approximate the objective function by a variational upper bound, which is optimized by an EM-style algorithm. Moreover, We derive an efficient solver by alternating optimization of subproblems and exploit Monte Carlo sampling to escape from local minima. We demonstrate the effectiveness of PML-GMM through experiments on synthetic, eye-fixation, flow cytometry, and social check-in data.

Abstract:
Innerhalb der Initiative zur vierten industriellen Revolution, bei der Menschen, Produkt und Maschine in Echtzeit vernetzt sind, geht der Trend weg von der Serienfertigung und hin zur „Losgröße 1“. Die ansteigende Anzahl an Varianten bringt jedoch auch höhere Verwaltungsaufwände mit sich. Um dem entgegenzuwirken wird die Methode der funktional substituierbaren Bauteile eingeführt. Diese ermöglicht die Verwaltung von technisch substituierbaren Komponenten innerhalb der Stücklisten einer konkreten Variante. Durch die Integration der Methoden FIM (Functional-Information-Model) und FIA (Functional-Information-Assembly) wird ein weiterer Schritt zur 3D-Modell-basierten Stückliste gemacht. Unter Zuhilfenahme dieser Methoden wird die notwendige Veränderung Darstellung der Struktur der im Produkt enthaltenen Bauteile während des Produktentstehungsprozesses beschrieben. Dabei werden die verwendeten Begriffe klar definiert und voneinander abgegrenzt.
