Abstract:
Aβ-turn is a secondary protein structure type that plays a significant role in protein configuration and function. On average 25% of amino acids in protein structures are located inβ-turns. It is very important to develope an accurate and efficient method forβ-turns prediction. Most of the current successfulβ-turns prediction methods use support vector machines (SVMs) or neural networks (NNs). The kernel logistic regression (KLR) is a powerful classification technique that has been applied successfully in many classification problems. However, it is often not found inβ-turns classification, mainly because it is computationally expensive. In this paper, we used KLR to obtain sparseβ-turns prediction in short evolution time. Secondary structure information and position-specific scoring matrices (PSSMs) are utilized as input features. We achievedQtotalof 80.7% and MCC of 50% on BT426 dataset. These results show that KLR method with the right algorithm can yield performance equivalent to or even better than NNs and SVMs inβ-turns prediction. In addition, KLR yields probabilistic outcome and has a well-defined extension to multiclass case.

Jenis Penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kualititif dengan metode content analysis Harold D. Laswell yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui isi dan makna yang terkandung dalam data yang dianalisis dengan pembahasan secara mendalam terhadap isi dari informasi tertulis, dalam hal ini adalah novel AAA yang ditulis sebagai jawaban terhadap isi kerusakan lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh masyarakat Dayak melalui pembakaran hutan. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah membaca, mencermati, menafsirkan, dan menganalisis novel AAA karya KLR. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel AAA karya KLR dan literatur yang relevan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca, teknik catat, dan teknik kajian kepustakaan. Abstract:
Khovanov–Lauda–Rouquier (KLR) algebras of finite Lie type come with families of standard modules, which under the Khovanov–Lauda–Rouquier categorification correspond to PBW bases of the positive part of the corresponding quantized enveloping algebra. We show that there are no non-zero homomorphisms between distinct standard modules and that all non-zero endomorphisms of a standard module are injective. We present applications to the extensions between standard modules and modular representation theory of KLR algebras.

Abstract:
In the present study, gully erosion susceptibility was evaluated for the area of the Robat Turk Watershed in Iran. The assessment of gully erosion susceptibility was performed using four state-of-the-art data mining techniques: random forest (RF), credal decision trees (CDTree), kernel logistic regression (KLR), and best-first decision tree (BFTree). To the best of our knowledge, the KLR and CDTree algorithms have been rarely applied to gully erosion modeling. In the first step, from the 242 gully erosion locations that were identified, 70% (170 gullies) were selected as the training dataset, and the other 30% (72 gullies) were considered for the result validation process. In the next step, twelve gully erosion conditioning factors, including topographic, geomorphological, environmental, and hydrologic factors, were selected to estimate gully erosion susceptibility. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) was used to estimate the performance of the models. The results revealed that the RF model had the best performance (AUC = 0.893), followed by the KLR (AUC = 0.825), the CDTree (AUC = 0.808), and the BFTree (AUC = 0.789) models. Overall, the RF model performed significantly better than the others, which may support the application of this method to a transferable susceptibility model in other areas. Therefore, we suggest using the RF, KLR, and CDT models for gully erosion susceptibility mapping in other prone areas to assess their reproducibility.

Abstract:
We describe how Mirković–Vilonen (MV) polytopes arise naturally from the categorification of Lie algebras using Khovanov–Lauda–Rouquier (KLR) algebras. This gives an explicit description of the unique crystal isomorphism between simple representations of KLR algebras and MV polytopes. MV polytopes, as defined from the geometry of the affine Grassmannian, only make sense in finite type. Our construction on the other hand gives a map from the infinity crystal to polytopes for all symmetrizable Kac–Moody algebras. However, to make the map injective and have well-defined crystal operators on the image, we must in general decorate the polytopes with some extra information. We suggest that the resulting ‘KLR polytopes’ are the general-type analogues of MV polytopes. We give a combinatorial description of the resulting decorated polytopes in all affine cases, and show that this recovers the affine MV polytopes recently defined by Baumann, Kamnitzer, and the first author in symmetric affine types. We also briefly discuss the situation beyond affine type.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: The prognostic value of changes in paraprotein markers after stem cell transplantation is unknown. We evaluated disease response using serum immunofixation (s-IFIX), total κ and λ ratio (KLR), and free light chain (FLC) ratio in myeloma patients who underwent autologous or autologous plus allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Methods: We studied s-IFIX, KLR, and FLC ratio in sera from 203 patients, 3 months after transplantation. We evaluated overall and event-free survival (OS and EFS, interval between date of study enrollment and date of death from any cause or date of progression, relapse, or death from any cause, respectively) by the Kaplan–Meier method. Results: Of the 203 patients, 51 were negative by s-IFIX, 99 reached a normal KLR, and 92 had a normal FLC ratio. Of the 51 patients with negative s-IFIX, 40 (78%) also had a normal FLC ratio. The median duration of OS was 54.3 months, and the median EFS was 19.5 months. None of the measured paraprotein parameters showed an association with OS. Only a normal KLR was associated with prolonged EFS (P = 0.016). Even a negative s-IFIX associated with a normal FLC ratio did not show a significant difference in terms of EFS and OS. Conclusions: Our analysis with a small cohort of patients did not show a significant impact of achieving complete response (CR) or stringent CR on patient survival.

Abstract:
Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras, or KLR algebras, are a family of algebras known to categorify the upper half of the quantized enveloping algebra of a given Lie algebra. In finite type, these algebras come with a family of standard modules, which correspond to PBW bases under this categorification. In this thesis, we show that there are no non-zero homomorphisms between distinct standard modules and that all non-zero endomorphisms of standard modules are injective. We then apply this result to obtain applications to the modular representation theory of KLR algebras. Restricting our attention to finite type A, we are then able to compute explicit projective resolutions of all standard modules. Finally, in finite type A when alpha is a positive root, we let D be the direct sum of all distinct standard modules and compute the algebra structure on Ext(D, D). This dissertation includes unpublished co-authored material.

Dans la première partie de la thèse on construit une base de la partie positive f de l'algèbre quantique de Drinfeld-Jimbo associée à un carquois de Dynkin. Cette base est donnée par des faisceaux de parité en caractéristique quelconque. De plus, on catégorifie la multiplication et la comultiplication dans f avec des complexes de faisceaux. Dans la deuxième partie il s'agit de la dualité de Koszul. Stroppel et Webster ont introduit une graduation sur la q-algèbre de Schur cyclotomique S. On démontre que l'algèbre graduée obtenue est Morita équivalente (au sens gradué) à une algèbre de Koszul. La preuve est basée sur le résultat de Rouquier, Shan, Varagnolo et Vasserot qui identifie la catégorie mod(S) avec une catégorie O affine parabolique de type A. Cette catégorie admet une graduation de Koszul construite par Shan, Varagnolo et Vasserot. On identifie cette graduation avec la graduation sur mod(S). Dans la troisième partie de la thèse on étudie une représentation catégorique dans la catégorie O parabolique pour la version affine de gl(N) de niveau -N-e. Cette catégorie admet une structure de représentation catégorique de sl(e) affine avec des foncteurs E et F. Che vma Cette catégorie contient une sous-catégorie plus petite A qui catégorifie l'espace de Fock de niveau supérieur. In the first part of the thesis we give a construction of a basis of the positive part f of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra associated with a Dynkin quiver. This basis is given in terms of parity sheaves over fields in any characteristic. We also categorify both the multiplication and the comultiplication of f via complexes of sheaves. The second part deals with Koszul duality. Stroppel and Webster have introduced a grading on the cyclotomic q-Schur algebra S. We prove that the obtained graded algebra is graded Morita equivalent to a Koszul algebra. The proof is based on a result of Rouquier, Shan, Varagnolo and Vasserot that identifies the category mod(S) with a subcategory of an affine parabolic category O of type A. This subcategory admits a Koszul grading constructed by Shan, Varagnolo and Vasserot. We identify this Koszul grading with the grading on mod(S). In the third part of the thesis we study a categorical representation in the parabolic category O for affine gl(N) at level -N-e. This category admits a structure of a categorical representation of affine sl(e) with respect to some functors E and F. This category contains a smaller category A that caregorifies the higher level Fock space. We prove that the functor F for the category A at level -N-e can be decomposed in terms of the components of the functor F for the category A at level -N-e-1. To prove this, we construct an isomorphism between the KLR algebra associated with the cyclic quiver with e vertices and a subquotienl of the KLR algebra associated with the cyclic quiver with e+1 vertices

Abstract:
This thesis consists of two parts. In the first we prove that the Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras $R_\alpha$ of finite type are (graded) affine cellular in the sense of Koenig and Xi. In fact, we establish a stronger property, namely that the affine cell ideals in $R_\alpha$ are generated by idempotents. This in particular implies the (known) result that the global dimension of $R_\alpha$ is finite. In the second part we use the presentation of the Specht modules given by Kleshchev-Mathas-Ram to derive results about Specht modules. In particular, we determine all homomorphisms from an arbitrary Specht module to a fixed Specht module corresponding to any hook partition. Along the way, we give a complete description of the action of the standard KLR generators on the hook Specht module. This work generalizes a result of James. This dissertation includes previously published coauthored material.

This thesis is investigative work into the properties of a recently defined family of graded algebras, which we call VV algebras. These algebras were defined by Varagnolo and Vasserot. We compare categories of modules over KLR algebras with categories of modules over VV algebras, establishing various Morita equivalences. Using these Morita equivalences we are able to prove several properties of certain classes of VV algebras such as affine cellularity and affine quasi-heredity. We also include a discussion about the problems encountered when trying to define finite-dimensional quotients of these algebras. Finally, in certain settings, we show how to define these quotients and explain how they relate to cyclotomic KLR algebras.

Abstract:
We study representations of Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier (KLR) algebras of affine Lie type. Associated to every convex preorder on the set of positive roots is a system of cuspidal modules for the KLR algebra. For a balanced order, we study imaginary semicuspidal modules by means of `imaginary Schur-Weyl duality'. We then generalize this theory from balanced to arbitrary convex preorders for affine ADE types. Under the assumption that the characteristic of the ground field is greater than some explicit bound, we prove that KLR algebras are properly stratified. We introduce affine zigzag algebras and prove that these are Morita equivalent to arbitrary imaginary strata if the characteristic of the ground field is greater than the bound mentioned above. Finally, working in finite or affine affine type A, we show that skew Specht modules may be defined over the KLR algebra, and real cuspidal modules associated to a balanced convex preorder are skew Specht modules for certain explicit hook shapes.

Nėra abejonių, kad Kinijos Liaudies Respublika šiuo metu atlieka svarbų vaidmenį pasaulio politikoje, didelės įtakos turi ir tai, kas vyksta šalies viduje: jos politiniai, ekonominiai bei socialiniai pokyčiai. Paskutinius dešimt metų Kinija perėjo nuo planinės ekonomikos prie rinkos ekonomikos. Kinija susiduria su daugybę iššūkių ir problemų, kurios susijusios tiek su vidaus problemomis, tiek su spaudimu iš išorės. Kinija teigia, kad ji nesiekia dominuoti pasaulio arenoje, o tik siekia „taikiai vystytis“, t. y. pasisako prieš perdėtą kišimąsi į kitų valstybių reikalus. Darbo problematika susijusi su vienu pagrindinių dabartinės Kinijos Liaudies Respublikos politikos devizu: „harmoninga visuomenė“ (hexie shehui) ir jos atsiradimo prielaidomis. Darbo tikslas išanalizuot socialines, politines visuomenėje, kylančio nepasitenkinimo priežastis, kokių priemonių imasi KLR valdžia. Dauguma Kinijos intelektualų sutinka, kad vienas esminių valstybės politikos tikslų yra sukurti stabilią – „harmoningą visuomenę“, jis būtinas sėkmingam tolesniam šalies vystymuisi. There is no doubt that the People's Republic of China policy now plays an important role in the world stage, and has a significant impact on what is happening in the country: the political, economic and social change. In the past ten years, China has experienced a rapid period of transition from a planned to a market economy. China is facing a number of crucial challenges and problems. Problems are related to internal as well as external pressures and processes. The task of study is to analyze the potential economic, social and political causes of the growing public discontent, and the measures taken by the government of PRC. The idea of „harmonious society“ – is the socio-political goal, which is transforming into an ideology, for the successful development of the country. China claims that it does not seek to dominate the world stage but only seeks to „peaceful development“, maintains stable relationship, not only domestically, but also with its neighbours. Current party leaders have a high attention to the new political challenges and strategies for development. „Harmonious society“ idea of an attempt to justify the need to implement the fairer social policies, the harmonization of central and local government relations, to resolve conflicts arising among the various interest groups, not only for the fair distribution of material but also for the spiritual values.

Abstract:
This study was conducted in the Master program at The Music Pedagogical Center (MPC) at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Korta musikresor (Short Music Journeys) is the Swedish term used for a receptive method of music therapy adapted from the tradition of The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (BMGIM) and the theory and practice of Expressive Arts Therapy. The KMR method uses carefully selected short pieces of music, lasting between 2 and 5 minutes, to work on various psychological problems and life- crises. The music session is conducted in a slightly altered state of consciousness with a clear focus being established beforehand in a verbal dialogue with the psychotherapist. There is also the possibility of using artwork to process and explore the imagery after the music listening. KMR can be used as the main approach in short-term therapy, or as one of various methods that are applied in the course of treatment. The overriding aims of the study were to develop theoretical perspectives and clinical understandings of the use of KMR. Three different possible research domains were established: to study the method from the perspective of practicing therapists to study the method from perspective of clients to study the effects and uses of the method with the aim of identifying client groups for whom it can be particularly helpful This study at hand, focuses on the first area – how therapists practicing KMR experiences and describes this approach. Initially five therapists that had undertaken a specialized one-year training in KMR were interviewed. The material was analyzed using the qualitative method of Grounded Theory. More data was collected as the process proceeded. The study resulted in a theoretical model called the KMR-mandala which places the method in an intersubjective context where music listening helps building and deepening the relationship between client and therapist. The model consists of one main category termed The musical experience, and six related categories called: Surrender, Stream of Feelings, Here and Now, The Aesthetics, Imagination, The Music Choice. Further research is suggested to modify and further develop a theory of KMR in music therapy. A client perspective is seen as the next natural research step.

k Vseživljenjsko učenje je postalo potreba za preživetje, znanje pa dominantna konkurenčna prednost in ključ do uspeha posameznika in navsezadnje tudi organizacije, kar navsezadnje vpliva na pojavljanje vedno večjega razkoraka med potrebami trga dela in formalno pridobljenim znanjem. En od načinov za učinkovito zmanjševanje razkoraka med potrebami trga dela in formalno pridobljenim znanjem je stalno prilagajanje in nadgrajevanje že obstoječega znanja in kompetenc ter pridobivanje novih. Ključno vlogo pri tem pa imajo strokovni delavci in izobraževalci odraslih ter njihove delovne kompetence. Ker menimo, da so kakovostno in sistematično izobraženi ter usposobljeni strokovni delavci ključ do dobrih rezultatov, smo pripravili analizo izpopolnjevanja strokovnih delavcev, kjer smo se vprašali se strokovni delavci (ne)udeležujejo izpopolnjevanj in ali se jih ne udeležujejo v večji meri zaradi nezmožnosti financiranja kot pa zaradi prekrivanja z urnikom dela.

Nenehne spremembe, ki jih povzročajo hitra in stalna rast informacij, tehnologije, konkurenca in razvoj, na vseh področjih našega življenja zahtevajo od posameznikov, da se stalno in nenehno izobražujejo in izpopolnjujejo. Vseživljenjsko učenje je postalo potreba za preživetje, znanje pa dominantna konkurenčna prednost in ključ do uspeha posameznika ter navsezadnje tudi organizacije, kar vpliva na pojavljanje vedno večjega razkoraka med potrebami trga dela in formalno pridobljenim znanjem. Tudi strokovni delavci se v svojem vsakdanu dandanes vse več soočajo s spremembami in napredki, ki zahtevajo novo znanje, nove nize kompetenc in nove pristope k poučevanju, zato se mora poklicna pot vsakega strokovnega delavca nenehno prilagajati v smeri doseganja boljših rezultatov udeležencev izobraževanja. Ker menimo, da so kakovostno in sistematično izobraženi ter usposobljeni strokovni delavci ključ do dobrih rezultatov, smo pripravili analizo izpopolnjevanja strokovnih delavcev, kjer smo se osredotočili predvsem na razmerje med številom udeležb na izpopolnjevanjih ter fazo profesionalnega razvoja strokovnega delavca.
