Abstract:
<p>Underground utilities must comply with the requirements stipulated in utility regulations to ensure their structural integrity and avoid interferences and disruptions of utility services. Noncompliance with the regulations could cause disastrous consequences such as pipeline explosion and pipeline contamination that can lead to hundreds of deaths and huge financial loss. However, the current practice of utility compliance checking relies on manual efforts to examine lengthy textual regulations, interpret them subjectively, and check against massive and heterogeneous utility data. Since there is relatively litter research examining the relationships among knowledge creation processes (SECI) and knowledge assets, this study developed a contingency model that integrates the aforementioned factors as well as task characteristics. An empirical research was conducted to test the feasibility of our research framework. This study extends Fu et al’s (2005) research by investigating the impact of indivi

In the past, IT research only provided a theory structure on how to improve the creation of knowledge in an organization. However for how to implement creation of knowledge, there is no complete description regarding combining both design of IT and organization environment. Nonaka et al. Abstract:
Knowledge-intensive firms are a growing and increasingly important part of our economy. They compete by bringing their knowledge resources to bear on their customers' challenging problems. Such knowledge resources can reside in workers, routines and work processes, stored data and knowledge, and relationships. Scholarship on these important firms, though, has focused largely on their workers' knowledge and skill, i.e., their human capital. This is in spite of the fact that the other forms of knowledge—organizational capital and social capital—both play important roles in firms. Additionally, t
