Abstract:
Inspection planning is a process of reasoning about inspection activities. As a result, a sequence of inspection actions is formulated, which, when performed, will achieve the desired measurements. In manufacturing, automated inspection technologies, such as Computer-Aided Inspection (CAI) or Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), will be facilitated by inspection planning. Inspection planning involves the following four aspects: representation of inspection features; process formalization; modeling of inspection activities; and, finally, plan synthesis. This paper discusses an approach to knowledge-based inspection planning. Accordingly, a prototype inspection planning system has been developed, which is also described in this paper.

Abstract:
The application of web-based technologies in developing the knowledge network for planning and development is the topic of this paper. Despite the fact that the web phenomenon is relatively new in the profession and not yet entirely explored, there is evidence which suggests that e-services are amongst the most rapidly growing sectors in the profession today. Numerous e-technologies for planning purposes have already been developed, and often fully integrated into the planning practice. This paper explores the state of the art in the field, and discusses the way the e-based alternative could be utilized in everyday planning practice. At the outset, the existing know-how is presented, followed by the assessment of the tools against the principles of a good planning practice. The challenges to the alternative are highlighted in the last section, and debated vis-?-vis the observed benefits. Implications for concrete planning practice are at the heart of the overall discussion.

In this paper, we propose the use of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to prioritize all of the measures and strategies in a BSC framework and we tries set up intelligent balanced scorecard knowledge-based strategic planning system, including the database management subsystem, the model base subsystem, the knowledge acquisition subsystem, and the dialogue subsystem. We use the BSC knowledge-based system in a financial holding company in Taiwan. The knowledge-based system for BSC offers a very fast way to implement an automated strategy planning.
