Abstract This paper describes corrosion rate prediction models for the main corrosion mechanisms of carbon steel in Exploration and Production service. The models succeed earlier work by De Waard, Milliams, and Lotz. The paper emphasizes that model accuracy is less of an issue than knowledge of the key corrosivity parameters and the quality of the corrosion control system. Models will be described for the following mechanisms: CO2 corrosion, CO2/H2S corrosion, H2S corrosion, organic acid corrosion, oxygen corrosion, and microbiologically-induced corrosion. Application limits will be indicated.

The communication discusses the history of the bibliometric service of the USARB Scientific Library, the most important aspect in the activity of the modern library in assessing the quality of information related to scientific research and studying its quantitative side: promoting USARB scientific production in the USARB Institutional Repository Open Research Archive (ORA), creating profiles in Google Scholar, Orcid, A

Computer simulations have implications across disciplines and with learners at all levels. By requiring learners to develop and apply knowledge and skills in interactive changing environments, they encourage deeper levels of learning. Additionally, simulations have been shown to be particularly effective at teaching complicated concepts that depend on the ability to understand interrelationships, strategize, make predictions, analyze and evaluate, and engage in multi-faceted decision making. Abstract:
This report describes the diversity of experiences of people with life-limiting illnesses who were supported by hospices in the West Midlands during the pandemic. It is one of four cohort reports – the others focus on patients, carers, and frontline hospice staff respectively – that form the evidence base for a Policy Report into the impact of Covid-19 on hospices. In these reports we address the nine key themes that were identified as potentially important in our previous collaborative knowledge synthesis (MacArtney et al., 2021) and seek to address some of the policy gaps we identified in ou

In 2023, the National Park Service (NPS) initiated a Natural Resource Condition Assessment (NRCA) project at Mesa Verde National Park (MEVE). The purpose of an NRCA is to: 1) synthesize information related to the primary drivers and stressors affecting natural resources identified by park managers, 2) report conditions for these natural resources, and 3) provide management recommendations to park managers based on NRCA findings. During a scoping meeting with report writers and Subject Matter Experts in September 2023, participants identified the top three drivers of change within MEVE to be cl

The GEOMAR Helmhotz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is operating a Media Asset Management System (MAMS) which manages large amounts image- and video data. Similar systems are operated by the Helmholtz Centre HEREON and by the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI). Although the MAMS system provides access to data and metadata using an API, it is not possible to directly request image data without prior knowledge of the internal MAMS data structure. The image broker is a web service which brokers between a client (e.g. web-browser) and the MAMS. It allows users to request images by metadata values (e.g.

Abstract:
The Coral Reef Ecosystem Water Temperature Monitoring protocol is a guide for the deployment, maintenance, and data management of South Florida/Caribbean Network temperature loggers. These loggers are deployed at long-term benthic monitoring sites and help interpret coral health at these locations. The three primary objectives for this monitoring protocol include: 1) Determine occurrence and duration of warm- and cold-water events that exceed thresholds known to cause stress (e.g., coral bleaching) to coral species for the purpose of interpreting trends in coral community metrics; 2) Determine
