Abstract:
This paper examines the relationship between media freedom from government control and citizens' political knowledge, political participation, and voter turnout. To explore these connections, I first examine media freedom and citizens' political knowledge in thirteen central and eastern European countries with data from Freedom House's Freedom of the Press report and the European Commission's Candidate Countries Eurobarometer survey. Next, I consider media freedom and citizens' political participation in 60 countries using data from the World Values Survey. Finally, I investigate media freedom and voter turnout in these same 60 or so countries with data from the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance. I find that where government owns a larger share of media outlets and infrastructure, regulates the media industry more, and does more to control the content of news, citizens are more politically ignorant and apathetic. Where the media is less regulated and there is greater private ownership in the media industry, citizens are more politically knowledgeable and active. These results are robust to sample, specification, and alternative measures of media freedom.

Abstract:
The first 1000 days of life or 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (HPK) is a period starting from the beginning of pregnancy until the baby is 2 years old. Knowledge of 1000 HPK is very important for midwifery students as a benchmark for health workers in serving clients in the future. About 6 in 10 students still do not understand and know about the First 1000 Days of Life. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of knowledge of midwifery students about the first 1000 days of life based on media sources at the Kuningan College of Health in 2020. Descriptive research method with observational design, population of midwifery students of level II as many as 40 people, using a total sampling technique. Direct data collection (primary data) using a questionnaire. Data analysis using univariate analysis. The results showed that most midwifery students level II had less knowledge of 20 respondents (50%), most of the media sources for obtaining information about HPK were mostly audio-visual 32 (80%), and the level of knowledge of midwifery students level II about 1000 HPK based on media sources. as many as 17 (42.5%) had less knowledge. It is recommended that level II midwifery students get information about 1000 HPK not only through the media but can seek information from various sources, for the Midwifery Study Program to be used as evaluation material, as input for developing an additional curriculum related to 1000 HPK in the Midwifery Care course so that it can increase student knowledge.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to understand the factors that can determine the knowledge sharing (KS) intention and behaviour of academics in Malaysian higher learning institutes (HLIs), thus affecting academics research productivity. Design/methodology/approach The study’s respondents were 525 academics from public and private HLI in Malaysia. This study adapts theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and social capital theory (SCT) to determine academics KS intention and behaviour of academics and the factors that can influence along the KS process. Findings Results indicate that among the factors of academics KS behaviour, there are two factors that are not significant, commitment and perceived cost, while the rest showed significant results. The strongest factors are management support and social media use among academics. The result also shows that academics intention to share is explained by 62.1 per cent of the variance, while academics KS behaviour is explained by 47.1 per cent of the variance. Research limitations/implications This study shows the high intention and behaviour of sharing among Malaysian academics and suggests that academics in this country are cautious and aware of the importance of knowledge for human capital and development of nation. Practical implications This paper facilitates university in hiring academics that support KS activities. Originality/value The integration of TPB and SCT in evaluating Malaysian academics KS behaviour can eventually affect the research productivity. Furthermore, addition of several variables, such as perceived cost, facilitating conditions make this study a holistic model to predict academic research performance.

In this paper, we provide the recommendations regarding modernization of professional journalism education, compiled on local research of students of the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and on the survey of top priority employers. This study was caused by the issue of the level of students’ professional training, as well as the wishes concerning improvement of educational process announced by both interviewed groups. The objective of the study is to outline the request on improvement of the educational process at the Institute of Journalism, to specify its directions, basing on assessments and desires of stakeholders. Except the answers about the level of education and necessary skills, the questionnaire for students helped to make a list of media outlets, which were the most desirable workplaces for them. The second research stage dealt with the interviews with managers of media outlets specified by the students. We ascertained that the key problems of media specialists education was the lack of practical work on the content taking into account the contemporary media stylistics and also complete misunderstanding by the students of the current political, economic and cultural realities. As for the students’ wishes, we found the strong request on strengthening their technical and managerial knowledge and skills.

Abstract:
The article summarizes the experience of teaching of the course “Newspaper and Magazine Production” at the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and gives an assessment of effectiveness of various educational tasks in order to acquire competencies by the students that are required for successful work in print media. The today’s higher education institutions around the world, and in Ukraine in particular, are shifting the emphasis from providing purely theoretical knowledge to practical competencies gained by the students for their successful practical implementation in various fields of activities. It entirely concerns to future journalists’ training. The practice of training of future journalists of newspapers and magazines at the Institute of Journalism convincingly shows that the most effective form of training of such media professionals is a long-term business game, when educational editorial offices are set up, the result of which is to produce the pilot issues of newspapers and magazines. In this case, the scope of theoretical education is minimized, and the students learn in practice to choose the segment of information market, to develop the concept of the edition, to establish an editorial office with all structural units necessary for its effective functioning, to write and to prepare for publication the journalistic materials and eventually to reach the final result – the pilot issues of newspapers and magazines.

Abstract:
The article is a part of a work series dealing with media studies of formation of the institute of public health. The concept of the institute includes public efforts intended to support and provide for the health of the population, which is impossible without the Media’s participation. However, due to various reasons, the Mass Media can’t currently be active participants in the field of public health. One of these reasons is that many media-agents don’t realize their opportunities, goals and objectives, which results in a lack of practical methods and algorithms of work. The purpose of the article is to report the pilot test of a specially designed theoretical model of the media’s operation as stakeholder of the institute of public health. This model in the present context is understood as a particular form of scholarly knowledge consisting of a number of constructs that meet the objectives of the study. With the opportunities of journalism in terms of systemic reporting public health issues previously studied by the author, the theoretical model is aimed at long-term EDIT programs that take into account the impact of the competitive environment. It also adds to the Media’s approaches to coverage of public health issues, and helps to find ways of solving strategic and tactic tasks related to covering the future information agenda. The method of pilot-testing chosen to check the efficiency of the model is one of the most complicated methods of empirical research. The pilot test itself was all-Russian contest of EDIT programs of the mass media and blog-sphere "Public health: its purpose, themes, and genres". The process and analyzed results of the pilot-testing prove the efficiency of the theoretical model, as well as provide practical propositions and demonstrate more opportunities for the mass media to cover the theme of public health.

Abstract:
The authors aimed to update knowledge of the use of supplements among Australian athletes at a state-based sports institute. The authors conducted a cross-sectional survey using an online questionnaire to assess the influence of age, sports category, and scholarship category on supplement use. Of 94 completed questionnaires, 82 (87%) indicated supplements in the previous 12 months (mean = 4.9 ± 3.3). No significant difference in supplement usage rate was identified when considering age, scholarship category, or sport category. The most frequently used supplements were sports drinks (70%), caffeine (48%), protein powder (42%), and sports bars (42%). Recovery (63%), health maintenance (59%), and improved energy (50%) were the most frequently reported rationale to use supplements. Allied health professionals and credible online resources were the predominant sources of influence regarding use. However, athletes from lower scholarship categories were more likely to have social media, parents, and siblings influence usage, and age was inversely related to increased influence from parents, social media, physicians not associated with the institute, the Internet, and siblings. Older athletes and those on higher scholarships were more likely to source supplements from training facilities and sports nutrition staff outside of the institute or direct from a supplier, whereas those on lower scholarships tended to rely more on family and friends for their supplements. Findings from this study show a high prevalence of supplement use and are the first to show an influence of social media, particularly in younger athletes. Opportunities exist to optimize how athletes are informed regarding supplement use and organizational and supplement policy.

Abstract:
The researcher conducted a quasi-experimental study to evaluate the effectiveness of the structured teaching programme on COVID-19 among 110 randomly selected paramedical students of Popular Institute of Medical Foundation, Varanasi, India with the study objectives to assess the knowledge on COVID-19, associate the demographic variable with the knowledge on COVID-19, and compare the pre-test and post-test values. The level of knowledge about COVID-19 was gathered using a standardised Da-In Park tool. After arranging and analysing the data, the results of the pre-test showed that 43.63% of the samples did not have sufficient knowledge, 56.36% had moderate knowledge and no sample had good knowledge. The researchers examined the values after the COVID-19 structured curriculum test, which showed that the structured curriculum had a positive effect on improving participants’ knowledge of COVID-19 (t value was 14.07 with a p value of 0.001) and the result was significant at p < 0.5. The study deduces that though the country has been through a lot of changes and methods in imparting health educational knowledge on COVID-19 from the first hit of COVID infection in India, still there is a great amount of lag among the people, even healthcare professional students, on knowledge related to COVID-19. The study clearly shows us that improvement in education through all media and social media might have a great impact on improving knowledge.

Abstract:
Aim of this study was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) in eye care of diabetics by non-ophthalmic doctors of different specialization. The was a cross-sectional questionnaire based KAP survey among 108 non-ophthalmic diabetes mellitus treating faculties of various departments at our institute. The level of Knowledge was considered excellent if the overall average score was > 75%, similarly questionnaire focusing on attitude was considered positive if the average score was > 50% and excellent practice constituted an average score > 75%. The findings will be noted in percentages with 95% confidence interval limit. Out of the 108 subjects, 75.57% {95%CI(61%-78%)} of participants had excellent knowledge, while >87.6% {95%CI(73%-88%)} of participants had a positive attitude towards diabetic eye care, whereas there were glaring deficits in diabetic eye care practices accounting to only 45.5%{95%CI(32.8%-51.4%)} which was considered poor. Knowledge and attitude regarding diabetic eye care was excellent, there was glaring deficits in the practice of diabetic eye care by non-ophthalmic treating doctors. The deficit was probably due to busy schedule of some doctors, due to lack of uniform eye care protocols of diabetic patients, and lack of updated timely education of eye care practices among non-ophthalmic medical professionals. Hence based on the findings of our study we aim to train and educate our non-ophthalmic medical faculty regularly for adequate and better management of spectrum of diabetic eye disease.

Abstract:
Research on the seizure of electronic data carriers is of key importance for proving in a criminal case, particularly in the investigation of economic crimes, drug trafficking and in the area of computer information. In this connection, the author's goal in the article of a criminal law nature is the following: a study of the procedural institute of «electronic seizure», analysis of problems of its enforcement in court practice. The methodological basis for this study is a set of methods of scientific cognition, among which the main methods are historicism, consistency, analysis and comparative law. The results of the survey are as follows. The author's justified position in this work is based on legislation and the opinions of the competent scientific environment on the need to use special knowledge in research and the seizure (copying) of electronic information relevant to a criminal case. On the basis of a legal analysis of the norms of criminal procedure law, the systematisation of rules and exemptions that investigators must observe during inspections, searches and seizures is being carried out. Questions are being raised about the evidentiary value of the results of electronic seizure. As a result of this study, it was found that the institute of «electronic seizure» is quite young and has not been sufficiently tested in investigative and judicial practice. It was found that the need for specialists in the field of information and communication technologies has increased to a large extent due to the increased use of computer devices by defendants and victims. At the same time, special knowledge must be applied to the appropriate extent both when removing the simplest devices - flash drives, modems and hard drives - and when re-moving smartphones, laptops, stationary computers and servers.

Abstract:
PURPOSE The main objective of this systematic review was to identify whether mass and small media interventions improve knowledge and attitudes about cancer, cancer screening rates, and early detection of cancer in Asia. METHODS The review was conducted according to a predefined protocol. Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar were searched in September 2017, and data extraction and rating of methodologic study quality (according to Joanna Briggs Institute rating procedures) were performed independently by reviewers. RESULTS Twenty-two studies (reported across 24 papers) met the inclusion criteria. Most studies (n = 21) were conducted in high or upper-middle income countries; targeted breast (n = 11), cervical (n = 7), colorectal (n = 3), or oral (n = 2) cancer; and used small media either alone (n = 15) or in combination with mass media and other components (n = 5). Studies regarding cancer screening uptake were of medium to high quality and mainly reported positive outcomes for cervical cancer and mixed results for breast and colorectal cancer. The methodologic strength of research that investigated change in cancer-related knowledge and the cost effectiveness of interventions, respectively, were weak and inconclusive. CONCLUSION Evidence indicated that small media campaigns seemed to be effective in terms of increasing screening uptake in Asia, in particular cervical cancer screening. Because of the limited number of studies in Asia, it was not possible to be certain about the effectiveness of mass media in improving screening uptake and the effectiveness of campaigns in improving cancer-related knowledge.

Abstract:
Background Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection. HPV can infect both females and males, and it can cause many cancers, including anal, cervical, vaginal, vulvar, and penile cancers. HPV vaccination rates are lower than vaccination rates within other national vaccination programs, despite its importance. Research literature indicates that people obtain health-related information from internet sources and social media; however, the association between such health-seeking behavior on social media and HPV-related behaviors has not been consistently demonstrated in the literature. Objective This study aims to examine the association between social media usage and HPV knowledge and HPV awareness. Methods This study analyzed public health data collected through the Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) conducted by the US National Cancer Institute. The analysis used data collected in 2020; in total, 2948 responses were included in the analysis. Six HPV-related questions were used to identify HPV awareness, HPV vaccine awareness, and HPV knowledge about HPV-related cancers. Four questions about social media usage and one question about online health information–seeking behavior were used to analyze the associations between social media usage and HPV-related behaviors. Initially, six logistic regressions were conducted using replicate weights. Based on the results, significant factors were included in a second set of regression analyses that also included demographic variables. Results About half of the respondents were aware of HPV (68.40%), the HPV vaccine (64.04%), and the relationship between HPV and cervical cancer (48.00%). However, fewer respondents were knowledgeable about the relationships between HPV and penile cancer (19.18%), anal cancer (18.33%), and oral cancer (19.86%). Although social media usage is associated with HPV awareness, HPV vaccine awareness, and knowledge of cervical cancer, these associations were not significant after adjusting for demographic variables. Those less likely to report HPV awareness and knowledge included older participants, males, those with a household income of less than US $20,000, those with a formal education equal to or less than high school, or those who resided in a household where adults are not fluent in English. Conclusions After adjusting for demographic variables, social media use was not related to HPV knowledge and awareness, and survey respondents were generally not aware that HPV can lead to specific types of cancer, other than cervical cancer. These results suggest that perhaps a lack of high-quality information on social media may impede HPV awareness and knowledge. Efforts to educate the public about HPV via social media might be improved by using techniques like storytelling or infographics, especially targeting vulnerable populations, such as older participants, males, those with low incomes, those with less formal education, or those who reside in the United States but are not fluent in English.

The aim of this paper is to structure and extend the knowledge of solar chromospheric sources of oscillations in the solar wind and their relationships with pulsations registered in the magnetosphere. We compare the oscillation spectra that we observe using instruments of the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics in different chromospheric structures with those observed in the solar wind and magnetosphere. We explore the possibility that the observed periodic variations of the chromospheric line widths can be interpreted as torsional Alfvén wave manifestation—this mode can propagate long distances without dissipating in the interplanetary space; it can penetrate into Earth’s magnetosphere directly or due to processes occurring at the plasmapause. We emphasize the similarities in the oscillation characteristics observed in different media, the similarities in the parameters of the media themselves and the processes developing in them. We believe that similar approaches can be applied to studying these media.

Abstract:
Cases of illegal drugs and drug abuse in the elementary school community in Indonesia is increasingly massive and alarming. An innovation to protect elementary school students from that situation is through the colaboration of academics from Bandung Institute of Technology with FDA in Palu in the form education of anti-drug abuse for elementary school students through quartet card media. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the education on anti-drug abuse knowledge in fifth grade students in Palu City. The research method used pre-experimental design with the design of one group pretest-posttest on three elementary schools which were representatives of three ranks namely; good, quite good and not good based on the results of the Smart-Accurate Quiz FDA in Palu for elementary school level in 2017. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Observation of knowledge of elementary students using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability had been carried out. The pretest and posttest were conducted before and after education. The comparison of pretest and posttest data in each elementary school was analyzed using paired T test whereas for all elementary school data analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with hypotheses. There was an influence of anti-drug abuse education through quartet card media on anti-drug abuse knowledge in fifth grade students in Palu City. The results showed that there was an influence of education on anti-drug abuse knowledge in fifth grade students from elementary school representatives “good and quite good ranking” with p values of 0.005 and p ≤ 0.001, while in elementary schools representatives “not good ranking”, the education did not influence their knowledge with a p value of 0.149. Analysis of the Wilcoxon test in all elementary schools showed a p value p ≤ 0,001, which meant that education had an influence on the knowledge of fifth grade students in elementary schools in Palu City.

Abstract:
The definitions of the institute and the institutionalization in the different fields of science (scholarship) vary. Specifically this refers to the understanding of the institutionalization of the mass media, whose activities are greatly dependent on the authorities. In Ukraine, such dependence has been particularly salient during the last time. The article aims at studying the existing definitions of the institutions of both social phenomena. An analysis of the institute of comparison and interpenetration of media and power as a social communication сoncept has been offered. A concept of institutionalization of the mass media is analyzed in terms of content structure and personal freedom of journalist. Specificity of several specialized aspects of media institutionalization in the context of the existence of different types and forms of competition and cooperation between universal and specialized publication sand journalists are analyzed. Different subtypes of journalism and relevant social trends, as well as a degree of interaction between professional and commercial dimensions of journalistic sphere are analyzed. It is emphasized that debates on mass media institutionalization focus on two dilemmas: the «journalist-professional» and «the journalist-ordinary member of society». Such discussion relates to the social significance of the problem and to professionalism of the media and journalists. The authorities can reduce social importance of institutionalization of the mass media, as well as they can downplay it purportedly. But social institutionalization of the mass media does not disappear because of the whims of the current authorities. We argue if the current Ukrainian authorities took into account the main factors of the institutionalization of the media and the correlation between journalistic and social practices, it would make fewer mistakes in its work with the media (which cannot be destroyed by institutionalization). The followup studies on the research problem outlined in the article are to study definitions of institutionalization of social and communication characteristics of cluster institutions: legal, economic sociological and so on. Socio-communicative understanding of the concept of the institution in its modus operandi will enable systematizing knowledge about institutionalization of many social phenomena that serve the mass media. Abstract:
At this time, one of the things that dominates human life is the existence of social media. The free delivery of information, comments, and messages can trigger social media users to make hate speech. At the Al-Amin Course & Training Institute (LKP) which coincided in Garut, almost all of the training participants had social media, so socialization activities were established to prevent them from uttering hate speech. Hate speech is personal designations and epithets that are so vulgar that they can create problems for theory and practice directed against race, religion, ethnicity, gender or preference. Prior to the presentation of the material, a pre-test was carried out and after the training the material was given a post-test to the participants. The results of the pre-test and post-test scores increased understanding and knowledge by 18% related to hate material. From this activity, the training participants received material related to hate so that the trainees could accept and understand everything about hate on social media.

Abstract:
Background. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about significant challenges to Ghana’s education system, leading to the closure of schools for months. On 31 May 2020, the government of Ghana took a bold decision based on expert advice to reopen schools for final-year students amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, data for students’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards COVID-19 are limited. We sought to investigate students’ level of knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards COVID-19 at Tamale Technical Institute, Ghana. Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 175 final-year students from June to August 2020. A validated questionnaire adapted from previous studies was distributed to the students in their various classes by the researchers. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, and multivariate logistic regression. All analyses were significant at a p value of less than 0.05. Results. The mean age of the study participants was 21.1 years (SD = 2.67), with more males (72.0%) than females participating in the study. The majority (69.7%) of the students trust traditional media sources, i.e., television and radio to receive COVID-19-related information. Awareness about COVID-19 was high (98.3%), and in total, 62.9% (n = 110) had good knowledge, 58.3% (n = 102) had positive attitudes, and 54.9% (n = 96) had good practices towards COVID-19. Factors associated with knowledge were receiving education on COVID-19 (AOR = 0.23; 95% CI: 0.01, 0.55) and mother level of education (AOR = 0.13; 95% CI: 0.02, 0.66). Positive attitudes towards COVID-19 were 63% less likely among students who did not receive education on COVID-19 (AOR = 0.37; 95% CI: 0.15, 0.90). Students who received education on COVID-19 exhibited good practice towards COVID-19 than students who did not receive education on COVID-19 (p = 0.014). Conclusion. Final-year students of Tamale Technical Institute possess good knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward COVID-19. Our findings demonstrate the significant role of health education in improving students’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards COVID-19. We recommend continuous and targeted health education to mitigate the widespread misconceptions about COVID-19 through the use of traditional media such as television and radio.

AbstractEducational reforms initiated in Europe, influenced many countries in the world including Mexico; these facts relate to the start with school curriculum reform in Mexico. In 2011 at the National Institute for Educational Evaluation (INEE, 2011) an assessment of the situation in the upper secondary education in Mexico was, and found that a significant number of students could not acquire the expected learning in basic education it expected. These backgrounds were the origin of an investigation that was aimed to analyze, through a case study, the elements of the Integral Reform of Higher Secondary Education (RIEMS) that have adopted by teachers from high school at the National Polytechnic Institute, as part their knowledge, their practice in the classroom and their criteria for selecting textbooks and teaching materials. A questionnaire of 32 items was designed and organized in four dimensions; items collected information training of teachers; his knowledge of the reform; of its activity in the classroom, and the textbooks used for teaching. We conclude that the algebra curriculum has not been established as a support tool for the teacher to work under the guidelines of the Integral Reform of School Education in Mexico. The main weakness identified in the program of the AU Algebra was the lack of information on materials or textbooks prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the RIEMS and are accessible for teachers. Keywords: Competences, Curriculum Reform, Higher Education, Textbooks, Teaching Practice.

The history of the Institute of Book Studies is a vivid illustration of the relationship between the totalitarian power and the creative intelligentsia. The monograph, which contains detailed biographical information about the employees of the Institute of Book Studies, can be called a reference book of library science and book science elite of Leningrad in the 1920s. All the classic problems of bibliography science, library science and book science were in the field of view of the staff of the Institute of Book Studies. Considering the constructive program of activities and the strong team of enthusiasts, the Institute could have grown into a truly research institution if the overall development of the country had gone differently.Based on the analysis of the scientific-research and educational activities of the Institute, it is concluded that it can be considered the birthplace of the Russian Bibliologos. Bibliologos is interpreted in two ways: first, as a social group of intellectuals-book lovers who ensure the functioning of the national bibliosphere; second, as a universe of bibliological knowledge embodied in book form as a result of scientific, pedagogical and practical activities of intellectuals-book lovers. The author highlights that it is necessary to preserve the memory of the Leningrad Institute of Book Studies, which served as the “cradle of the Russian Bibliologos” in the history of book culture.

The author highlights that it is necessary to preserve the memory of the Leningrad Institute of Book Studies, which served as the “cradle of the Russian Bibliologos” in the history of book culture.

Abstract:
In this study, we discuss the training of mass communication specialists in terms of competence approach and compliance with professional standards. The relevance of the topic of the study is due to changes in journalism education in Russia and abroad, the emergence of organizational innovations in higher education, and the development trends of the system of professional journalism. The study examined the formation of professional competencies, job responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and abilities in students as a result of mastering the basic educational curriculum for Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in journalism. The study was based on the educational standard and the basic educational program for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Journalism at the Institute of Philology and Journalism of the National Research University Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. The methodology allowed us to study effective strategies in contemporary media education and a comparative typological analysis of the types of professional journalistic activities. To evaluate the quality of education and the professional standing of future journalists on the labor market, journalism students of the Institute of Philology and Journalism of Lobachevsky University were asked to fill out a questionnaire. The survey participants were 2nd–4 year undergraduate students and first-year graduate students. The experience of the Institute of Philology and Journalism of Lobachevsky University in developing and implementing self-established educational standards illustrates one of the vectors of modernizing the basic educational program for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Journalism, which represents a balanced combination of the needs of employers, the traditions of classical education, and an awareness of the social, cultural and educational role of journalism in society. The authors concluded that it is necessary to continuously work on improving the process of training future specialists in the field of mass communication, in accordance with the opportunities for further professional self-fulfillment of graduates. The results of this study may be of interest to the developers of educational programs in the field of journalism, the staff of educational and methodological commissions, and the executive staff of educational institutions of higher education.

Abstract:
Professionals in the television industry are working towards a certain future—rather than end—for the medium based on multi-platform storytelling, as well as multiple screens, distribution channels and streaming platforms. They do so rooted in institutional frameworks where traditional conceptualizations of television still persist. In this context, we reflect on the role of the national television archive as an agent of historical knowledge in the convergence era. Contextualisation and infrastructure function as important preconditions for users of archives to find their way through the enormous amounts of audio-visual material. Specifically, we consider the case of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, taking a critical stance towards the archive’s practices of contextualisation and preservation of audio-visual footage in the convergence era. To do so, this article considers the impact of online circulation, contextualisation and preservation of audio-visual materials in relation to, first, how media policy complicates the re-use of material, and second, the archive’s use by television professionals and media researchers. This article reflects on the possibilities for and benefits of systematic archiving, developments in web archiving, and accessibility of production and contextual documentation of public broadcasters in the Netherlands. We do so based on an analysis of internal documentation, best practices of archive-based history programmes and their related cross-media practices, as well as media policy documentation. We consider how audio-visual archives should deal with the shift towards multi-platform productions, and argue for both a more systematic archiving of production and contextual documentation in the Netherlands, and for media researchers who draw upon archival resources to show a greater awareness of an archive’s history. In the digital age, even more people are part of the archive’s processes of selection and aggregation, affecting how the past is preserved through audio-visual images.

Abstract:
AbstractEffective science communication is essential to share knowledge and recruit the next generation of researchers. Science communication to the general public can, however, be hampered by limited resources and a lack of incentives in the academic environment. Various social media platforms have recently emerged, providing free and simple science communication tools to reach the public and young people especially, an audience often missed by more conventional outreach initiatives. While individual researchers and large institutions are present on social media, smaller research groups are underrepresented. As a small group of oceanographers, sea ice scientists, and atmospheric scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute, we share our experience establishing, developing, and maintaining a successful Arctic science communication initiative (@oceanseaicenpi) on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. The initiative is run entirely by a team of researchers with limited time and financial resources. It has built a broad audience of more than 7,000 followers, half of which is associated with the team’s Instagram account. To our knowledge, @oceanseaicenpi is one of the most successful Earth sciences Instagram accounts managed by researchers. The initiative has boosted the alternative metric scores of our publications and helped participating researchers become better writers and communicators. We hope to inspire and help other research groups by providing some guidelines on how to develop and conduct effective science communication via social media.

Abstract:
Behaviour change is an important aspect of the successful implementation of any national health program. Social behaviour change among end-user can be possible by imparting the right information in the right quantity to the right audience, at frequent intervals through the proper medium. Mass media, both electronic and print are considered useful modes to deliver all public health-related messages to the people. However, the key is to provide correct information to the media for dissemination. On the other hand, medical colleges have a depth of knowledge on technical know-how but reaching a larger population is quite challenging. Therefore, a team approach should be planned by establishing a partnership between media and medical colleges and then the social behaviour change can be achieved in the desired direction. In lieu of this novel partnership, the Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar had taken the initiative to bring together media personnel and faculty of medical colleges to chalk and roll out the behaviour change communication for nutrition interventions. This program was highly successful as the liaison helped disseminate the right information to the people. Also, the faculty and residents gained insight into dealing with media and thereby serving the community.

Abstract:
Indonesia currently adopts the 2013 revised 2018 curriculum which is expected to be able to improve education from the aspect of knowledge, aspect of skills, and aspects of attitudes and behavior. One of learning models that best fits the 2013 revised curriculum is the learning model with the scientific approach. The observing stage is the initial phase in the scientific approach so that it becomes the most important support capable of providing meaning in the learning process (meaningful learning). Observation activities in learning that are often encountered are reading and listening to modules, books, and pictures. In addition, the Institutional / Government Accounting Practicum is a new subject whose learning media is currently very limited, some of the existing media contain material with instruments that are not in accordance with basic competencies, and the sources used are not reliable. Therefore, the researcher developed a special learning media for the Institute / Government Accounting Practicum subject in accounting SMK. The development model used is ADDIE, the resulting media will be validated by 2 material expert and media expert. The results of validation from material experts get an average percentage value of 87.6% with the interpretation criteria "Very Appropriate" and media experts of 96% with the criteria "Very Appropriate". The overall results of the validation material and media experts get an average score of 91.8%, so that it can be said the media developed is very suitable for use on observing activities while teaching and learning.

Abstract:
This study looks at references made to Sweden in U.S. newspaper and magazine articles discussing Swedish crime fiction. Books by authors such as Stieg Larsson and Henning Mankell have enjoyed a great deal of popularity in the United States in recent years, and institutions such as the Swedsh Institute in Stockholm have expressed the hope that this popularity will result in greater interest in and knowledge about Sweden. The findings of the study, however, suggest that such is not necessarily the case. U.S. media references to the home country of Larsson and Mankell tend to follow stereotypes and focus on the country’s cold climate, or to see Sweden solely as the origin of products and pop-culture phenomena already familiar to Americans, such as IKEA, Volvo and ABBA. The study considers this view of Sweden part of a larger trend in U.S. mass media away from politics and social issues and toward consumer-oriented news.

Abstract:
This study examines the role of an epistemic community, namely the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) which focuses on energy and the environment in encouraging the transformation towards a sustainable energy system in Indonesia by analyzing the public policy advocacy efforts IESR has carried out. Indonesia has set a Renewable Energy transition target in every national energy regulation. Still, it has not been focused and has become a top priority in supporting the renewable energy transition sector, so it is necessary to involve IESR in helping to pursue a renewable energy transition roadmap in the future and be included in the draft energy bill academic paper. In its action to create an energy transition roadmap, IESR collaborates with the media to accelerate the renewable energy transition and push for legislation on its legal policies. The purpose of this study is to identify the efforts made by IESR in accelerating the change of renewable energy through collaboration with the media (media relations). The method used is a literature study focusing on examining the role of IESR in framing renewable energy issues through the media. From the analysis results, it was found that IESR data-based policy advocacy research published in the media has contributed to crafting knowledge to change a transformation of norms in social society, especially in the field of renewable energy issues.

Abstract:
Objectives: In Austria, research in health technology assessment (HTA) has been conducted since the 1990s. The aim of this study is to analyze whether the HTA research program of the Institute of Technology Assessment (ITA) and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for HTA (LBI-HTA) have had an impact on the Austrian healthcare system. Methods: We applied qualitative and quantitative empirical research methods, such as interviewing, download analysis, questionnaire, retrospective routine data analysis, and media analysis. Data were analyzed according to a conceptual framework, considering seven impact categories (awareness, acceptance, process, decision, practice, final outcomes, enlightenment) and different target groups. Results: A rising number of downloads and single HTA reports with high media interest were identified. Interviews showed that HTA reports have increasingly been used for investment and reimbursement decisions, as well as for the preparation of negotiations. Economic impact was indicated by decreased expenditures due to HTA recommendations. Overall, knowledge about evidence-based medicine increased and, in places, an “HTA culture” can be recognized. Yet, several decision-making processes occur at all levels without the use of HTA.Conclusions: The analysis demonstrated an impact within all predefined categories; however, it depends on the system level and its target groups. HTA reports are primarily used by hospital management, (social) insurances, and the Austrian Ministry of Health. Nevertheless, there is still potential to increase the impact of HTA. Therefore, the inclusion of HTA in decision-making processes in Austria needs to move from a voluntary basis to a mandatory one.
