<p> Lifelong learning in professional communities is changing to adapt to professions in the anesthesia field with input from the public and various stakeholders. An extensive review on learning styles identified a gap in literature, specifically evidence on sensory learning styles among adult professionals. Changes in Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) recertification requirements, most importantly the incorporation of an assessment component, prompted the research to address CRNA enhancement methods in learning. The main purpose of the current study was to contribute to the bod

Abstract:
Despite the numerous recommendations for care, childhood obesity continues to be a growing problem in the United States. Approximately one third of the United States population of children ages 2–17 is now considered overweight or obese (American Heart Association, 2014a). The obesity epidemic in children can lead to greater health risks and concerns when entering adulthood. Primary care providers were previously identified as key personnel that could identify and treat overweight and obese children during opportunities, such as well child visits. In addition, several studies have been publish

Background: Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States and is a public health concern. There are over 5 million new cases of keratinocyte skin cancer (KC) (previously known as non-melanoma skin cancer) and over 65,000 new cases of melanoma annually in the United States. Skin cancer is highly preventable, although prevention methods are not commonly practiced. Nurse practitioners have a key role in educating and encouraging patients to practice skin cancer prevention methods. Purpose/Aims: The purpose of this project was to determine whether a brief educational video can

Abstract:
Introduction: Adolescent Mental health is a growing topic of concern for pediatric nurse practitioners. Adolescents are known for risky behaviors that can lead to poor health habits, unintentional and intentional injuries. There are recommendations from the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the National Prevention Council (NPC) to screen adolescents for mental health concerns including depression and suicide. There are established guidelines and evidenced based screening tools to assist practitioners in screening for at risk adolescents.

Abstract:
Heart failure (HF) is a complex, debilitating disease that affects approximately 6.5 million Americans (Ades et al., 2013). HF is a large reason for hospital readmissions, and subsequently, a major contributor to rising health care costs. Unfortunately, there is no cure for HF, but various interventions such as cardiac rehabilitation (CR) have been employed to help patients manage the symptoms. However, the lack of patients ever being referred to cardiac rehabilitation is disturbing. Healthcare providers play an essential role in providing education about heart failure and CR, and thus should
