I here present my version of the Kohonen Self-Organising Map (KSOM) as applied to the classification, or rather clustering, of astronomical data. The main body of this work is concerned with the grouping of period-folded stellar lightcurves and clustering based on the lightcurve shape alone. It has been found that the algorithm is an extremely stable grouping mechanism for data of low (3cr signal to noise) to good quality. Das Hauptziel der Arbeit ist die Herstellung von Brennstoffagglomeraten mit vorteilhaften Verbrennungseigenschaften aus Kohlen unterschiedlichen Inkohlungsgrades für automatisierte Kleinfeuerstätten und die Bewertung ihres Verbrennungsverhaltens. Im Rahmen der Arbeit werden Weich- und Hartbraunkohlen, Feinsteinkohle und der Siebdurchgang der Xylitaufbereitung eingesetzt. Abstract:

This thesis aims to cluster financial account time series by extracting global features from the time series and by using two different dimensionality reduction methods, Kohonen Self Organizing Maps and principal component analysis, to cluster the set of the time series by using K-means. The results are then used to further cluster a set of financial services provided by a financial institution, to determine if it is possible to find a set of services which coincide with the time series clusters. The results find several sets of services that are prevalent in the different time series clusters

Tiivistelmä. Kohdun leiomyosarkooma (LMS) on kohdun sileälihaskerroksesta lähtöisin oleva harvinainen pahanlaatuinen kasvain. Kliinisesti kasvain muistuttaa hyvänlaatuista ja hyvin yleistä kohdun leiomyoomaa, mikä tekee kasvaimen erotusdiagnostiikasta ja varhaisesta tunnistamisesta äärimmäisen haastavaa. Tyypillisesti leiomyosarkooma on sattumalöydös leiomyooman vuoksi poistetussa kohdussa. Usein sairaus todetaan jo levinneessä vaiheessa ja tästä syystä LMS:n ennuste on tyypillisesti varsin huono. Diagnostiikan ja hoitojen kehittämiseksi on tehty runsaasti tutkimustyötä viime vuosikymmeninä
