This diploma project is about designing a concept of an anti-theft tracking device for a bicycle. The device is equipped with a GNSS module for tracking of current location, GSM module for sending the location data in case of a theft and a BT module for user settings via mobile phone. The bike theft detection is detected by an accelerometer. The final goal of this project is a concept of such a device for evaluation and improvement purposes.

Abstract:
The aim of the thesis was to propose a pump impeller with higher effectiveness and verify the proposal with the calculation using programs Gambit and Fluent. Three designed impellers were afterwards made using 3D printer and its characteristics were measured in a hydraulic laboratory in Kaplan Department of hydraulic machines. The proposal of a so called wideband impeller of the centrifugal pump was made with chaotic ordering of blade cascades, in one impeller occur blades with various input and output angles and different shapes of blades but all blades have got similar shape in a meridian sectional view of impeller. The thesis was divided into three parts. In the first part, a conforming transformation was theoretically described which was in the thesis used for the shape proposal of impeller blades. In the second part of the thesis final proposals and calculations of pump impellers were made. The third part of the thesis focused on the processing and evaluation of experimental measurement in the hydraulic laboratory and finally the results of the thesis were summarized in the conclusion.

Abstract:
This master’s thesis presents a proposal for the technology of manufacturing sheet metal part, which is a part of a bicycle wall bracket. The component is made of steel sheet ČSN 11 325 with subsequent surface treatment by galvanizing. Due to the chosen method of manufacturing with a progressive stamping die, the research part is focused on the technology of shearing and bending. Technological calculations were performed for the most suitable production variant, on the basis of which a mechanical press ANDRITZ Metals with the designation KSTU 2000-20-4G-PSE was chosen. Furthermore, the design of the tool itself is presented, which is substantiated by drawing documentation. At the end of the work, a technical and economic evaluation of the produced series of 300 000 workpieces per year is calculated.

The aim of this thesis is to focus on an application of mixed flow turbine wheel for charging diesel powered combustion engine in a van and to give a summary about current technologies used for charging internal combustion engines. Output of this thesis should be a package study with a few design layouts for the application mentioned above, including models prepared for rapid prototyping. Another part of the package study is a simulation of thermal stress and final deformation of turbine heat shroud. Design layout should contain as many production parts as possible.

A conceptual design and realization of a motor bike using combustion engine and electrical power transfer is the objective of this master´s thesis. Control strategy that allows combustion engine to reach maximal efficiency cooperating with wide range speed and torque operating area electromotor was created. All function blocks were realized. This thesis deals with sports sponsorship, concretely with an evaluation of the sponsoring activities of partners for a series of competition mountain bikes called Kolo pro život. The first chapter of the theoretical section explains the definition of sponsorship and types of sponsorship. The second chapter deals with sports sponsorship, strategy and effectiveness. In the practical section starting with the third charter I introduce the competition series Kolo pro život. The fourth chapter focuses on the partners of the competition series, where I analyse the motivation of sponsorship, their goals, marketing activities, target groups etc. In the fifth charter I prove my two hypothesis, which I specified before my research started. In the conclusion I suggest improvements for the future.

Abstract:
This doctoral thesis studies the non-uniform blade cascade for centrifugal pumps. Influence of non-uniform blade cascade is investigated on the impeller and diffuser. A non-uniform blading impeller of pumps in this doctoral thesis was examined in terms of influence on efficiency characteristic. The idea of using non-uniform blading is to obtain a flat efficiency characteristic. Then the centrifugal pump could be used on larger scale of power with achieving a sufficiently high efficiency. The work is based on experimental measurements and numerical simulations of non-uniform hydraulic pump components. Non-uniform impeller and the diffuser were newly designed for this research. A new measuring track of small submersible pumps was needed to design and build for measurements. Different pump combinations with conventional hydraulics on one working point and hydraulics with non-uniform were measured. All measurements were evaluated and characteristics of efficiency, head and power were obtained for each measured combination. Some of pump combinations (which were measured in experiment) were numerically simulated by program Ansys Fluent. Data needed to evaluate the characteristic of efficiency and specific energy were collected from each numerical simulation. A theoretical consideration concerns the influence of non-uniform blade cascade applied on diffuser. The suggestion how to decrease hydraulic losses in canals was done. The theoretical consideration how to make a flat efficiency characteristic was made.

Erfarenheter av att leva med stomi efter kolo-/rektalcancer Bakgrund: Vanligaste orsaken till att en stomi anläggs är kolorektalcancer. En stomioperation kan orsaka förändringar i personens liv. Det kirurgiska ingreppet har stor inverkan på personens kropp. Personen kan uppleva oro, nedsatt självbild och försämrad livskvalitet. Personen med stomi kan även uppleva förändringar i det sociala livet och sexualiteten. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa personers erfarenheter av att leva med stomi efter kolo-/rektalcancer. Metod: Syftet besvarades med en litteraturstudie där tio kvalitativa artiklar granskades och analyserades. Databassökningarna genomfördes i databaserna PubMed, CINAHL with full text och kompletterades med manuella sökningar.  Resultat: Resultatet presenterades med fyra huvudkategorier med tillhörande elva underkategorier; kroppsliga förändringar med underkategorierna självbild och sexualitet, känslomässiga förändringar med underkategorierna anpassning och oro, livsstilsförändringar med underkategorierna vardagsaktiviteter, isolering, matvanor, klädval och resor och stöd med underkategorierna närståendes stöd och sjukvårdens stöd. Konklusion: Individerna beskrev olika erfarenheter och upplevde olika utmaningar med att leva med stomi, vissa kunde anpassa sig lättare till omställningen än andra. För att förbättra livskvaliteten hos personerna behövs stöd och information från sjuksköterskan som ser personen som en helhet med egna erfarenheter.
Experiences from living with an ostomy after colorectal / rectal cancer Background: Colorectal cancer is the most common cause for ostomy surgery. An ostomy surgery causes changes in a person's life. The surgery has a major impact on the person’s body. The person may experience anxiety, lowered self-esteem and reduced quality of life. The person with a stoma may also experience changes in social life and sexuality.Aim: The aim of this study was to examine people's experiences from living with an ostomy after colorectal / rectal cancer. Method: In this literature study, ten qualitative articles were reviewed and analyzed. The database searches were performed in PubMed, CINAHL with Full Text and supplemented by manual searches. Results: The results were presented in four main categories with eleven subcategories; bodily changes with subcategories self-esteem and sexuality, emotional changes with subcategories adaptation and anxiety, lifestyle changes with subcategories daily activities, isolation, eating habits, choice of clothes and travel and support with subcategories spouses support and medical support. Conclusion: The participants experienced various challenges of living with a stoma; some could adapt easier to the change than others. To improve the quality of life of the participants, support and information is needed from a nurse who sees the person as an individual with its own experiences. Abstract:
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design, manufacture and measure the characteristics of a mobile water pico turbine. More precisely, it is an experimental construction of a mill wheel. The first part of this document is describing the design and manufacture of the turbine. This part focuses mainly on the construction of water wheels with different sizes of buckets and on the nozzle supplying water to the turbine. There is also a CFD simulation of pressure loss of nozzle. The second part of the thesis is focused on the processing of data that were measured in the laboratory, including the determination of uncertainties. The measurements were performed for different turbine settings such as flow, speed, different wheel shapes and different positions of the nozzle distributing water to the wheel. For individual turbine settings are created characteristics, from which maximum powers and maximum efficiencies parameters are determined.

Abstract:
Conventionally environmental assessments (EAs) have been carried out to enhance the understanding of the environment and for the purpose of developing appropriate environmental management and protection strategies. There are, however, limitations to the application of traditional EA approaches, particularly in rural communities in the developing world, where livelihood is dependent on common pool resources (CPRs), and baseline data are inadequate or unavailable. Eco-livelihood assessment (EcLA) is an adaptive approach that integrates a people focused sustainable livelihood approach with ecological assessment, as well as exploring traditional eco-livelihood knowledge (TELK). EcLA is identified as a promising EA tool that could help environmental professionals in planning for equitable development. This approach has been used in the Kolo and Otuoke Creeks, Niger Delta, Nigeria to investigate the ecological impact of dredging that may impact on livelihoods in such a rural setting. Ecological and social surveys have been carried out in four communities in the Study Area; two Test communities and two Reference communities (two communities from each study creek). The information collected from the social survey includes TELK, and has been used to build up a baseline scenario of the Study Area. Abundance and diversity of fish are good indicators of the eco-livelihood impacts of inland river dredging. The research shows that livelihood characteristics, river use profile, fish species diversity and abundance are very similar among all four sample communities. In addition, all sample communities have been associated with similar natural and human induced environmental consequences except that the Test communities have had river sections dredged for the purpose of land reclamation representing the baseline scenario. The analysis of the results of the ecological survey shows a difference in fish catch per unit effort, catch per unit hour, and species diversity between the Test and Reference communities, this have been attributed to the impacts of inland river dredging. The study shows that TELK has a place in environmental assessment, and that eco-livelihood assessment is one promising environmental assessment approach that could be used in areas where livelihood is strongly dependent on common pool resources.

The diploma thesis should identify inconsistencies of the small hydraulic power plant Katovice. The fountain water turbine is now running in slower delivery because the original Francis high speed turbine achieved much smaller flow than a Kaplan type turbine. The aim of the thesis is a project of a spiral case and a distributor for the Kaplan turbine, which should work in higher flow and should be run in its optimum. This project will serve as a base for construction of distributor and spiral case for the small hydraulic power plant Katovice.

This master´s thesis submit a project of technology of production of gear wheel the way of drop forging. A part is made of steel 14 220.0 (16MnCr5). A semi-product is a stick of parametres o75 - 211 ČSN EN 10060, with a production of 130 000 pieces a year. Technological process of drop forging are worked up based on a study presented in technical literature. A forging will be working up on a vertical forging press LMZ 1600 A made in Šmeral Brno, Inc. For this option, the required technological calculation, drawing documentation and forming process simulation which is implemented by way of the software FormFEM have been carried out. Technical and economical evaluation of the component technology producing is brought in as a conclusion of the thesis.

The thesis considers a change in the manufacturing technology of a fan impeller from welding to 3D printing. The wish of the manufacturer was to investigate if such a change is possible and financially profitable and decide on a further approach to manufacturing. Models were created using information from the manufacturer and using them, conditions for manufacturing the impeller in the 1:1 ratio were derived. Based on the new technological process and the experience from prints a new price calculation for the fan impeller using 3D printing was created.

India, China and Indonesia are among the six largest and fastest growing economies in the world (BRIICS). Rich countries are still reluctant to accept the fact that developing countries are becoming stronger and that the balance of economic power is shifting. The international community therefore seeks to find the way how to deal with this situation and the answer is to involve developing countries in the international trade. The main objective of the WTO is to involve developing countries in world trade and to create better conditions for them. Therefore, in 2001, the Doha Development Agenda has commenced and its aim is to achieve the goals of the WTO. The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the success of the Doha round and its prospects with the focus on the attitudes and interests of the major Asian economies, namely China, India and Indonesia.

Bakgrund: Tidigare forskning visar att personer med stomi upplever många förändringari  sina  liv  efter  operationen.  Att  vårda personer  med  stomi ställer  därför  höga  krav  på sjuksköterskans kompetens i omvårdnadsarbetet. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa vuxna personers upplevelse av att leva med en permanent kolo-, ileo- eller urostomi och hur det negativt inverkar på deras livskvalitet. Metod:  En  litteraturstudie  med  kvalitativ  design  användes.  Totalt  analyserades  tio artiklar med hjälp av en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultat: Analysen resulterade i två huvudkategorier: Stomins negativa påverkan kring relationen till sig själv, som innehöll sex underkategorier och Stomins negativa påverkan kring  sociala  förhållanden,  som  innehöll  tre  underkategorier.  Resultatet  visade  att personer med stomi upplever en förändrad kroppsbild. Det förekom också att personerna upplevde  bristande  information  från  sjukvården  angående  egenvård.  Resultatet  visade också  att  personer  med  stomi  upplevde  en  begränsning  i  vardagliga  aktiviteter  som motion och arbete. Slutsats: Sjuksköterskan behöver få en djupare förståelse kring hur personer med stomi upplever sin vardag och få en ökad kunskap och utbildning för att stärka en professionell vårdrelation.  Vidare  forskning  om  hur  sjukvårdspersonalen  ska  bemöta  personer  med stomi anses också behövas, för att utveckla vården och ge en mer personcentrerad vård åtvarje person med stomi.

Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradatin (REDD+) is a market-based approachto address tropical deforestation as a key driver of anthropogenic climate change. In Tanzania, participatory forest management (PFM) was used as a vehicle for the institutionalisation of REDD+and implementation of pilot initiatives. With the lens of political ecology, this thesis analyses the effects of the REDD+ pilot project ‘Advancing REDD+ in the Kolo Hills Forests’ (ARKFor) inKondoa District, Tanzania, on structures of access and use of forest resources for local communities. This analysis is done by using qualitative interviews with villagers living within the REDD+ project area and government actors involved in forest management as well as textual analysis of a PFMagreement and community bye-laws established within the ARKFor project. The findings suggest that REDD+ pilot activities were planned without real participation by local communities and failed to take complex conservation histories and underlying power structures into account. Community access rights were not legally secured which resulted in processes of re-centralisation of forest managementand ‘green grabbing’ after the conclusion of project activities in 2014. The study underscores that successful forest management decentralisation needs to be based on localised, longer-term adaptive processes which clash with the globally driven, neoliberal conservation logic of REDD+.

This doctoral thesis was written under supervision of my supervisor Prof. Ing. Přemysl Janicek, DrSc. and under supervision of my specialist supervisor Ing. Petr Skalka, Ph.D. The thesis deals with the influence of various operating conditions on crack behaviour in in a wheel rim and/or tire. The dissertation topic was motivated by cooperation with Pardubice University, Faculty of Jan Perner. The first part of the thesis presents a literature search, which provides a current state-of-art in the field of contact loading, crack propagation behaviour under mixed-mode and thermal field generated during braking. The next part of thesis deals with the solution of the given problem and the obtained results are presented. Specifically, crack behaviour under various operating conditions including the crack growth rate is simulated. Also, an influence of thermal field on crack is investigated. The linear elastic fracture mechanics approach is considered to treat the above mentioned problems. Last part of thesis summarizes the obtained results which are discussed in a broader context.

Presented master’s thesis is focused on the experimental research of influence of climate conditions on wheel-rail adhesion, where climate conditions are meant two parameters: ambient air temperature and air humidity. These parameters always affect wheel-raid contact and their values change significantly during the year. For presented experimental research was used tribometer Mini Traction Machine (MTM) in configuration „ball on disc“. For determination of influence climate conditions was first found out the influence of air humidity on adhesion at certain temperatures, which varied between (1 to 50) °C. These experiments were performed for two types of discs, where one disc was exposed to leaf extract contamination. After that was assembled influence of both parameters (air humidity and ambient air temperature) on adhesion in the form of a 3D map, where were distinctioned states, when condensation has occured and when didn‘t. Obtained results in this thesis will be used for optimalization of rail vehicle control systems.
